We ate there last night. The food was delicious, and the service was very friendly and attentive. I highly recommend it. We're going back to the Swan again tonight 😄🍷🍹

We were in the mood for mussels, but unfortunately hadn't made a reservation. The terrace was completely full, but luckily there was still room inside. The friendly staff brought us our ordered drinks and we already knew what we wanted… the mussels. There was a very cozy atmosphere. The mussels came in the familiar small pot… and the presentation was surprising… with gratin potatoes and, among other things, fried aubergines with couscous pearls… and a tasty baguette. The taste was delicious. We ended up sharing a dessert together as well. As we were about to leave, we got into a conversation with the “neighboring table”… which was a nice way to end the meal. We would love to come back here.

On a warm summer evening with a full terrace … yet… without making a reservation… immediately got a table for 2… inside… in a cozy atmosphere.. We enjoyed delicious and well-prepared mussels … Highly recommended

We had a delicious, extensive lunch with the four of us! The portions were generous and topped with super fresh ingredients. I had a light lunch and received two thick slices of delicious brown bread with the soup. One was generously topped with healthy and flavorful hummus with semi-dried tomatoes. And the other came with a rustic croquette. Very good value for money. A restaurant where you get a substantial portion for a reasonable price and can sit comfortably. The staff is friendly and works hard on the busy terrace.

Top restaurant! We were "only" there for a beer and fish and chips, but it was fantastic! Crispy fried fish fillet, perfect fries, and a small side salad and sauces to boot. 👌 All this on the lovely terrace near the harbor. Very, very cool!

Time flies when you're having a good time!

I had kibbeling once and spare ribs two days later – both were delicious, well-seasoned, and a good portion. The Hertogh Jan and Jupiler beers are served nicely chilled on tap. The service is attentive, friendly, and relaxed in typical Dutch fashion. They even check in from time to time to make sure everything is alright. The restaurant is located in the city center and has a charming, rustic atmosphere. The prices are reasonable. We would definitely go back anytime! 👍👍👍

Nice location, good terrace. Wide selection of snacks, drinks, lunch, and dinner. Friendly staff. Everything was ready to go for the Ecuador - Germany World Cup football match that evening at 10:00 PM.

Restaurant Café De Zwaan is a characterful dining and drinking establishment located in the beautiful city center of Makkum. The chairs on the terrace are comfortable. The service is prompt and good. They serve delicious Sûkerbôletaart! Highly recommended. The cappuccino was a bit weak. It should be made from an espresso with good milk foam. That is, therefore, the only point for improvement. Inside, the restaurant is neat and clean.

I ate an incredibly delicious meatball on bread there, next time again.

We had a delicious meal, it's just a shame that the herb butter was ice-cold and impossible to spread, but otherwise fine.

The food here is delicious😋. The atmosphere is relaxed and very cozy. We had a wonderful meal on two evenings during our vacation, and the staff is very friendly and welcoming.

Excellent food for a great price. Cozy local restaurant with a local atmosphere. Simply delicious food, fast and attentive service. I had the carpaccio as a starter. Fresh and savory with a nice crunch. The fish of the day was catfish with a spicy mustard sauce and bacon. I thought the catfish handled the sauce well. Nice, firm fish. My wife had the spare ribs, and they were just as you'd imagine. For the price, you can eat well here.

We ate at this restaurant twice over the weekend and were delighted both times. The service was always very friendly and attentive. The food was truly outstanding. On our first visit, we had a beef skewer and spare ribs – both delicious and perfectly cooked. The second time, we opted for a steak, which was also excellent, and were treated to a wonderful dessert to finish. A restaurant we can absolutely recommend and would gladly visit again.

We stopped in unannounced from the boat with nine men and were all very satisfied and happy. The beer selection was excellent and the menu was wonderful, with delicious, fresh food. High praise from us.👍🍻👨‍🍳

The food was delicious, especially the fish and chips. Unfortunately, the waitress spoke neither German nor English. Furthermore, we shared a dish between two people, and the restaurant charged extra for the extra plate—be careful.

We went there today to eat mussels. It was highly recommended; the mussels were super delicious, Asian-style. Simply perfect. The price is completely irrelevant.

Finally, I've had a good meal somewhere, with a variety of fresh vegetables (instead of a wilted bowl with just a bit of lettuce). Everything is fresh here, a great and tasty soup of the day, a more than well-prepared ribeye, also of high quality, good service, a nice atmosphere, no stressed staff, and a clean restroom! One comment: no beer mat under the glass on the table (a shame in many places these days). I'll definitely come back here. I say, go and experience it for yourself!

Beautiful location and cozy terrace.

A good venue to visit. Popular with the locals as well as tourists. Food was good'ish. Price reasonable. Service good and friendly, and actually too fast. The venue has a lot of character and on a sunny day, great to sit outside. It is a lovely town so worth walking around. Recommended.

We walked in on spec with eight family members. We had to wait a bit, but were quickly offered a table. There were a few people at the bar, some playing pool, and the restaurant was full, but the atmosphere was fantastic. The waitstaff really knew what they were doing. The food was excellent; all eight of us enjoyed it.

The Frisian nachos are absolutely hilarious. The terrace could use a bit of a refresh. Inside, it's very atmospheric. The staff is extremely pleasant.

Ik was in Makkum op zoek naar een plek om te lunchen, ik heb het pleintje geobserveerd en De Zwaan zag er voor mij het gezelligst uit. Met een mooi terras en lekker in de zon. De lunchkaart was niet veel bijzonders, verschillende ei gerechten, kroketten, burgers, etc. Ik had brood met rundvlees kroketten. Brood was lekker vers, kroketten waren goed. Bijgevoegde garnituur was simpel. Bediening was aardig en aanwezig.

Schönes Ambiente. Die Speisen könnte etwas individueller und mit weniger Fett zubereitet sein. Bei dem günstigen Preis- Leistungsverhältnis sollte der Gast jedoch auch nicht mehr erwarten. Einziger Kritikpunkt war der (nicht mehr frische) Beilagensalat, welcher vermutlich aus der Lidl Tüte kam.

Located almost on the water, with a large outdoor area. We were able to enjoy the sun. The cafe is quite large. The service was friendly, the prices were a bit higher. We had tarte flambée, soup, hot dog and bitterballen. The soup (soup of the day, here: tomatoes) and the tarte flambée were very good. The bitterballen takes some getting used to for non-Dutch people. From the outside they resemble meat croquettes, but from the inside they are very mushy. The eater didn't like it that much.

Delicious food, friendly but slow service. However, I think that €8.40 for a 0.5l Texels Skuumkoppe is very excessive...
