Wonderful atmosphere, friendly and attentive service, and the food is fantastic! Plus, delicious beer specialties. I'll definitely be back!

Cozy cafe, even on a Monday in October it was pleasantly busy. The main courses were delicious!

We stopped in unannounced from the boat with nine men and were all very satisfied and happy. The beer selection was excellent and the menu was wonderful, with delicious, fresh food. High praise from us.👍🍻👨‍🍳

The food was delicious, especially the fish and chips. Unfortunately, the waitress spoke neither German nor English. Furthermore, we shared a dish between two people, and the restaurant charged extra for the extra plate—be careful.

We went there today to eat mussels. It was highly recommended; the mussels were super delicious, Asian-style. Simply perfect. The price is completely irrelevant.

Finally, I've had a good meal somewhere, with a variety of fresh vegetables (instead of a wilted bowl with just a bit of lettuce). Everything is fresh here, a great and tasty soup of the day, a more than well-prepared ribeye, also of high quality, good service, a nice atmosphere, no stressed staff, and a clean restroom! One comment: no beer mat under the glass on the table (a shame in many places these days). I'll definitely come back here. I say, go and experience it for yourself!

Beautiful location and cozy terrace.

A good venue to visit. Popular with the locals as well as tourists. Food was good'ish. Price reasonable. Service good and friendly, and actually too fast. The venue has a lot of character and on a sunny day, great to sit outside. It is a lovely town so worth walking around. Recommended.

We walked in on spec with eight family members. We had to wait a bit, but were quickly offered a table. There were a few people at the bar, some playing pool, and the restaurant was full, but the atmosphere was fantastic. The waitstaff really knew what they were doing. The food was excellent; all eight of us enjoyed it.

I ate a delicious sugar loaf cake.

We only had drinks here this time, but we've been here before for drinks as well. Friendly service and a nice terrace.

The Frisian nachos are absolutely hilarious. The terrace could use a bit of a refresh. Inside, it's very atmospheric. The staff is extremely pleasant.

Ik was in Makkum op zoek naar een plek om te lunchen, ik heb het pleintje geobserveerd en De Zwaan zag er voor mij het gezelligst uit. Met een mooi terras en lekker in de zon. De lunchkaart was niet veel bijzonders, verschillende ei gerechten, kroketten, burgers, etc. Ik had brood met rundvlees kroketten. Brood was lekker vers, kroketten waren goed. Bijgevoegde garnituur was simpel. Bediening was aardig en aanwezig.

Schönes Ambiente. Die Speisen könnte etwas individueller und mit weniger Fett zubereitet sein. Bei dem günstigen Preis- Leistungsverhältnis sollte der Gast jedoch auch nicht mehr erwarten. Einziger Kritikpunkt war der (nicht mehr frische) Beilagensalat, welcher vermutlich aus der Lidl Tüte kam.

very rude staff! they started gossiping about us (guests) they called us special people in a negative way. When they noticed that once heard that from us they said to each other "shhh" ridiculous this!!

Located almost on the water, with a large outdoor area. We were able to enjoy the sun. The cafe is quite large. The service was friendly, the prices were a bit higher. We had tarte flambée, soup, hot dog and bitterballen. The soup (soup of the day, here: tomatoes) and the tarte flambée were very good. The bitterballen takes some getting used to for non-Dutch people. From the outside they resemble meat croquettes, but from the inside they are very mushy. The eater didn't like it that much.

Delicious food, friendly but slow service. However, I think that €8.40 for a 0.5l Texels Skuumkoppe is very excessive...

Cozy and atmospheric restaurant in the beautiful old center of Makkum. I had a delicious meal here, and for a more than reasonable price! They have an excellent menu with enough variety. The service was exceptionally friendly and hospitable. In addition to a bite to eat, you can also have a beer at the bar. Definitely recommended if you are in Makkum!

Very friendly at first glance, but when I asked questions there were only WRONG answers! Questions about dishes were consistently answered incorrectly and side dishes were not delivered. The food was still delicious, even if it wasn't as described. I cannot provide any information about the conditions in this restaurant during regular operations, but a visit on Boxing Day is not recommended!

Sfeervol restaurant/cafe die als ik hier woonde als vaste klant zou gaan bezoeken. Lekkere biertjes op de tap en heb hele mooie goed aangeklede hapjes voor bij zien komen , die mij bij een volgend bezoekje zeker zullen bekoren.

Nur Kaffee dort getrunken, soweit alles gut, haben offensichtlich viel Stammkundschaft, was bei diesem Ort auch nicht weiters verwunderlich ist. Ist ganz nett, der Besuch war zu kurz um mehr zu sagen. Das Essen welches ich an anderen Tischen gesehen habe sah sehr appetitlich aus und die Gäste schienen auch zufrieden zu sein.

Het was een beetje koud in het restaurant. Er werd in 1e instantie geen groente geserveerd bij het hoofdgerecht (stond wel op de kaart). Toen we( 9 personen) erom vroegen kregen we 2 schaaltjes met half gare sperziebonen. Toetje was wel lekker.

Heerlijk gegeten, goede kaart met genoeg variatie. Sfeervol en een super vriendelijke bediening. Zeker een aanrader!

Unbedingt hier einkehren, das ist sehr urig. Die Bedienung ist sehr aufmerksam und freundlich. Das Essen war eine Wucht.

War an diesem Abend eigentlich eine Notlösung. Aber wir wurden positiv überrascht.

Goede professionele bediening. Wat waren ze hard aan het werk. Super druk en heet. Heerlijke sukade gegeten. Wat een grote porties en wat een mooie combinatie van groenten. Heerlijk. Ook mijn partner (vegan) heerlijk gegeten. En echt zeer redelijk geprijsd.

Voor in Makkum de beste om te eten, meer dan verwacht, super, vooral die jonge jongen op het terras, echt een topper.

Sehr leckeres überbackenes Brot mit Brie gegessen und der Preis absolut in Ordnung ... gerne wieder!

Noch ein Update August 2023: Und erneut waren wir in dem Restaurant. Dieses Mal war der vegetarische Flammkuchen wirklich gut, aber dieses Mal schmeckte die Tomatensuppe nicht. Der Service war in Ordnung. Update Frühling 2023: wir waren nach 1.5 Jahren wieder hier, gestern und heute. Gestern war es perfekt, wir hatten einen vegetarischen Flammkuchen und Tomatensuppe. Sehr frisch, sehr lecker. Die Bedienung war schnell und freundlich. Das sind 5 Sterne. Heute haben wir nochmal das Gleiche bestellt. Der Flammkuchen war komplett anders und kleiner, leicht scharf. Die Tomatensuppe war gut. Die Bedienung okay. Damals: Sehr freundlich. Gutes Essen. Gemütlich. Katzengesellschaft :)

Tijdens onze tour de IJsselmeer een korte lunch pitstop bij Restaurant Cafè De Zwaan. Uitgebreide en gevarieerde kaart. Lunch werd snel opgediend en smaakte goed. De cappuccino was iets slap, maar over smaak valt niet te twisten 😉. Je waant je echt even terug in de tijd als je het interieur bekijkt van het café, heel leuk! De bediening was top. 👌🏼 Ik zou het zeker aanraden om hier te gaan borrelen/lunchen of dineren.

Een hele mooie locatie in het centrum van makkum! Het eten is ook super! Heel lekker!

Zum Urlaubsanfang waren wir zum Essen im De Zwaan. Die Gaststätte ist urig eingerichtet und lädt dadurch zum Verweilen ein, leider ist sie dadurch aber auch sehr laut. Das Essen selbst war gut, die Vorspeise ( Carpaccio vom Rind ) erstklassig. Es gab einige Sorten Bier, sowohl vom Fass, als auch aus der Flasche. Alles in Allem war es ein gelungener Urlaubsanfang.

Tolles Restaurant am Platz mit originalen und originellen, leckeren Speisen. Dazu ein unglaublich aufmerksamer und freundlicher Service. Vielen Dank!

Ein tolles Lokal mit sehr gutem Essen. Drinnen ist es sehr urig im Stil eines Pub’s eingerichtet, die Aussenterrasse ist groß und es gibt vernünftige Schirme zum Schattenspenden. Unser Kellner war sehr nett und hatte super Deutsch Kenntnisse, was ich nicht selbstverständlich finde. Insgesamt klare Empfehlung 👍🏻
