Restaurant Casereccio in Overschie

We discovered it by chance, looking for an Italian restaurant to eat at. Having booked online, we weren't really sure what to expect. As soon as we arrived, we felt at home. Luigi, the owner, made sure we felt at ease. We ordered three delicious steaks. The food and drink were truly excellent. Luigi was a bit too chatty, but very friendly.

What a wonderful experience at this restaurant on Abtsweg. Every single dish was of fantastic quality and beautifully presented. The burrata with fresh tomatoes and basil was an absolute highlight, in particular. The steak with perfect grill marks was also a big hit. Everything was taken care of down to the last detail. We will certainly be back here soon for a delicious meal.

A brilliant proper Italian restaurant

Good place for authentic flavors and good service. Extremely friendly owner who definitely knows what service is. The food tasted good and had a real Italian flavor; the pizza crusts aren't the best I've ever had, but certainly not bad! Personally, I had the pizza Casserecio; it certainly tasted unique but wasn't to my taste. Additionally, we had the Vesuvius, which was very tasty and rich in flavor. For dessert, we had the homemade tiramisu with coffee beans and real ladyfingers. Highly recommended for lovers of real old-school tiramisu.

My new favorite spot in Rotterdam! 🫶 The food was delicious, but the service was also exceptional. From the moment we arrived, they made us feel very welcome and offered flexibility with the menu (I'm vegetarian) and many thoughtful touches. Luigi is the highlight of this restaurant; he makes it feel so cozy and made our evening wonderful! I highly recommend it, and we'll definitely be back! 👏🏽🤩

It was truly a very pleasant surprise for the simple fact of eating truly ITALIAN in Holland (Rotterdam), and the owner is a simple, down-to-earth guy who is very helpful in everything. The food was incredible, just like in Italy, the service was like at Nona's, and the atmosphere was amazing. (I even forgot to take pictures, that's how good it was!) We had an exceptional evening, one I'll probably remember for the rest of my life. The quality of the ingredients was wow: everything was top-notch. I highly recommend it. In a word: a GEM!

An outstanding experience at Restaurant Casereccio. We started with a selection of antipasti, followed by the pasta Bolognese and risotto alla Milanese, and every dish was packed with authentic italian flavor. For the main course, we had the beef tenderloin and lamb, both of which were perfectly cooked and absolutely delicious. The wines were excellent and complemented the meal beautifully. To finish, we enjoyed their limoncello, which was the perfect ending to a fantastic dinner. The food, service, and atmosphere were all exceptional. The people were friendly and welcoming. You can really tell that great care goes into every detail. We will definitely be back and highly recommend it to anyone looking for authentic Italian cuisine.

Visited this restaurant for Mother’s Day with high expectations because of the good reviews, but unfortunately it was very disappointing. Their “stone oven” was suddenly broken, there was no à la carte menu, and everyone was forced to choose from a limited set menu. Smart tactic on one of the busiest days of the year: simplify everything and maximize profit. The food was mediocre, portions were small, and the “tiramisu” was honestly shocking for an Italian restaurant… basically some ladyfingers with a thick sauce and even strawberry sauce on top. Sadly, this really ruined what was supposed to be a special Mother’s Day experience.

This spot offers a truly authentic taste of Italy paired with a warm, vibrant atmosphere. The service is top-notch thanks to the witty Luigi. Definitely coming back!

Discovered via advertisements on the way from Friesland to Antwerp (you only need to leave the highway for 2 minutes to get there). Warm welcome, cozy place, cloth napkins. The salmon tartare (photo) was sliced ​​on the spot. The tagliata was nice and tender, the grilled salmon tasty. The potatoes with the dish could have been a bit more generous, or perhaps some pasta instead, but those are minor details. It is highly recommended!

The owner walks around and is visibly passionate about the food he serves; this makes the atmosphere relaxed, humorous, and authentic. Only top-quality ingredients are used, and you can taste it. When we arrived in a somewhat deserted neighborhood, we thought, "Is this it?" But as soon as you step inside the restaurant, it is just like being in Italy. There is also amazing meat in the Dry-Age cabinet for enthusiasts.

Simple restaurant. Service is okay. Food is fair to good. Menu is limited. A Dutch explanation on the menu would be a welcome addition. It's worth trying once, but I won't be back anytime soon.

True Italian hospitality in Rotterdam! This place is a gem. The food is delicious and the coffee is excellent. But what truly makes this restaurant special is the soulful service. I stopped by yesterday a bit too early, before they were officially open. Instead of turning me away, a staff member kindly invited me in just to make me a fresh cup of coffee. That is what I call real hospitality. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for great Italian food and a warm atmosphere.

After all those over-the-top hyped places in Rotterdam, it was a breath of fresh air to actually have a good meal. This neighborhood Italian restaurant in Overschie truly exceeded our expectations. Imagine: a place from an urban suburb in Italy, picked up and set up in a residential area in Overschie. The food was pure and delicious, the welcome warm, and the service relaxed and friendly. We started with the steak tartare and the tuna steak: no frills, no fuss, just excellent, fresh fish and steak. I was with my two teenagers; the children had a pizza with a nice thin crust, generously topped. I had the bavette, which was quite tender. To be honest: it was a bit overcooked because the meat was a bit too thin. If the chef cuts it a little thicker before cutting it into slices, it's absolutely perfect. But that didn't spoil the fun. The meat was tender; The wine was delicious, the atmosphere was friendly and relaxed, and the desserts—cannelloni with fresh cream—were the perfect ending. We'll definitely be back.

A few months ago, I dined here with a group of about ten people. The setting was pleasant, but I wasn't entirely convinced. We had to (understandably) choose from a set menu with three options (meat, fish, vegetarian). I'm a vegetarian myself and was very disappointed. The main course contained largely the same ingredients as the starter, but with some pasta added. Dessert was the smallest portion of tiramisu possible (two spoonfuls). My meat-eater friends had a plate with 80% meat and a few scoops of vegetables and potatoes. The service was friendly but very pushy to write a good review. I won't be back until they have a more varied and contemporary menu.

It was truly delicious! The prices were even below what you actually got! We received an amuse-bouche on the house, and the wine was generously poured. The pizza was delicious. The service was friendly and fast. I never write reviews myself, but this pizza was so delicious that I had to. Easy to get to from the A13 and free parking. I say: arrive derci, (I think I spelled that correctly)...

Delicious food and very friendly service! We have lived here for some time, but recently we were guests for the first time. We should have done that sooner! The food is delicious at good prices. Although we were able to sit outside, the decor inside seems a bit more cozy. We will definitely be back soon!

Quality of the food is not wat it used to be. It used to be good; but it has been several times that everything is off. Unfortunately last weekend was the last. Calzone was overcooked, dough was completely off (dense) and poorly stuffed with a drizzle of tomato sauce outside, why?. Which was odd. Pizza besides that it didn’t meet the food requirements (add ons) was the least of the problem; the main problem was the pizza dough; it was dense and burned. Regardless of the restaurant being kind and trying to make it better; the density of the dough remained the same and was very off. It is a shame.

Staff was very friendly and flexible. We went for the chef special 4 course menu. At the end I wanted to exchange dessert for a pizza and that was possible! Not too expensive. Definitely a place I would come back to.

Excellent Italian restaurant. The menu contains a limited number of dishes per course (5 to 7), but with very special and exclusive ingredients. The portions are kept quite small in relation to the price. It is recommended to order 3 courses. The wine list is also limited, but it does contain some very good wines. Wine can be ordered by the glass and by the bottle. Service is very friendly and service-oriented.

Onverwacht goed restaurant in west, vriendelijk ontvangst. Alle gerechten zijn mooi opgemaakt op passende borden. Vitello en carpaccio misschien iets kleine porties. De kaart bestaat überhaupt uit maar aantal gerechtjes maar dat komt de kwaliteit wel ten goede. Grootste nadeel was dat wij gedurende de hele avond de enige gasten waren, voelt toch gek met z’n tweetjes in een leeg restaurant. Dan ligt de focus van het personeel misschien ook net iets te veel op je en voel je je bezwaard om nog koffie te bestellen bijvoorbeeld, de hele crew zit op je te wachten om naar huis te kunnen.

The menu offers a reduced selection of dishes, a sign of quality. We had a pasta dish which was excellent. And tiramisu for dessert, as well as a glass of red wine. Honestly, it was much better than what we ate during a stay in Venice! It is a compliment.

What a great place, really delicious food with super friendly staff. Special wishes are never a problem and if desired the chef will go for a chef's special... ;) hospitable, fantastically prepared plates, but in addition to the quality of the food, the hostess with her hospitality and professional service really makes your evening complete. Nice for intimate or with friends/family, highly recommended, I promise!
