Had an amazing evening here with great food, great service and a great location. On a busy night I was looking for nice place for a quick bite and luckily de admiraal still had enough tables free. Tbey offer a nice arrangment of all the favourites, all decent portions and all reasonably priced. First thing that caughts attention is the laid back vibe. Waitresses were super friendly, nice, honest and in for a joke or chat. After a long and stressful day I could fell it melt away. The location adds to that; overlooking the water at a little bit more quiet spot this was perfect for wanting a nice relaxed meal. As for the food I had a burger that was really good; got some great advice from the waitress, and this was really good. This will now go in my favourites in Harderwijk and will definitely be back

Yes, and then you happen to be walking along the lively boulevard in Harderwijk. And you end up at De Admiraal, sitting outside with a patio heater, a beautiful view, a nice menu (affordable), and then you get a waitress (Isa) who beams, asks questions, and knows the ropes; that really completes the whole picture. You can eat anywhere, but that little extra—which we call the X factor—they have at De Admiraal. We will definitely be back here; thanks for the service and fantastic food!

Although we are only here in the summer because of our boat, we have nevertheless become regular guests. During the day we enjoy an alcohol-free wheat beer, and in the evening we eat fish. Friendly staff, a friendly owner, and a view of the harbor.

I was there in the winter and ate apple strudel. It wasn't too expensive and quite cozy on the terrace.

The dishes are quite pricey. Especially when you consider that there are a lot of fries with them.

The food was good, but the service and hospitality stood out the most. Our son is a picky eater, but our special request was no problem, and he thoroughly enjoyed his meal too. We even played a fun game of Snakes and Ladders after dinner!

A lovely location for food and drinks, situated along the Harderwijk marina. We were allowed to choose our own table. We ordered the Black Angus burger and the sirloin steak. Both were very tasty, and I would have liked a fresh salad with the steak. In fact, there were only fries with a pepper sauce and a few pieces of warm vegetables. But the person who handled the outdoor service in the evening is a very friendly, sociable person who has his terrace under control.

We had a wonderful time sitting and eating. Salade riche is highly recommended!

The starter and main course were very good. The dessert brownie was good, but the strawberry coupe was disappointing. It contained only one fresh strawberry, cut into four pieces. We were seated inside. Service could only be found outside or in small groups at the bar. If you were seated inside, ordering drinks and dessert was a nightmare. It was best to order everything immediately upon arrival or sit outside, where there was service.

It was more than 100% good. I could make a long story out of it and start complaining. But I'm only complaining that everything was super perfect. Beautiful view, very good food, and not to forget, super friendly service.

Nice location by the water. Quieter than in the city center. Ideal spot with my young dog. The weather was less than ideal, which meant there was less atmosphere by the water. Otherwise, a beautiful indoor location as well.

During a day trip to Harderwijk, we were drawn in by the "12 o'clock" (12 uur). The service was friendly and we were served quickly. A large bowl of soup and a well-filled sandwich. Delicious mustard seeds in the soup. The only thing missing was bacon bits or dried sausage. Good value for money. Nice view of the harbor and the boats coming in.

After a very warm welcome, we enjoyed a delicious starter: my partner had tomato soup with a warm roll, and I had the celery salad: a sight to behold and wonderfully fresh, almost too good to eat.... The attentive service brought me a glass of water when I accidentally choked, fantastic. May I give you a tip, somewhat copied from "Loetje": the steak gravy is sooooo delicious (they also serve white bread with it). Actually, your delicious entrecote and steak don't need any more sauce than that, although the sauces you served were okay in themselves. But in this case, less is more... We were generously provided with fries, and we were allowed more, but we couldn't eat more. 😉 In short: delicious food and lovely people to make us feel welcome, tops!🌞

Very friendly staff, service was smooth, friendly, and welcoming. The food was all delicious. We wanted to take pictures but were too busy enjoying ourselves. The carpaccio, taco, and tuna were delicious appetizers. It was no problem to serve certain ingredients separately or omit them (one person preferred no truffle mayo, the other preferred no cilantro). The steak and lamb shank were sublimely tender and full of flavor! We enjoyed it so much! Oh, and the dessert was a real treat. Chocolate mousse with raspberry jelly and pistachio ganache. Everything was divinely delicious. Thank you for a wonderful evening.

I'd like to give it a 5, but I haven't experienced the ultimate yet. That doesn't change the fact that the Admiral is a fantastic place to eat. Good service, friendly, attentive. And five years ago, I was there for lunch, which was also delicious and good. It's a feeling I share. The quality is really good, and that's what makes me want to come back. Wiebe

Negative experiences with the mussels. This afternoon, a friend and I ate mussels at the Admiraal. When we opened the mussel pan, there was a strange, brownish, soft stone inside. We thought this was odd and reported it to the staff. They checked for us but said it wasn't anything unusual. After two minutes, our pan was FULL of dung flies. Not just one or two, but at least 10 to 15 flies. There were also three wasps in the pan that wouldn't leave. These flies and wasps would sit IN the mussel shells, making it almost impossible to eat. After searching online, where it said that in such quantities, it probably wouldn't be good anymore, we didn't dare try it. The mussels were also served cold, and I found them dry right away. Because of all the flies and wasps, we were no longer comfortable in our seats and wanted the mussel pan taken away. The staff was also surprised by how many flies were attracted to it. The mussel pan for two people is €27 per person, a staggering amount! When we paid, we asked if something could be done about the price. We understood that they couldn't take it all off, but we were hoping for some compensation. Unfortunately, we ended up paying €54 for a pan with cold mussels, a strange stone, and 15 dung flies. We're incredibly disappointed and advise against eating here! *attached a photo of that strange, soft (hopefully) stone*
