We were here for high tea and lunch. The cigarette bin at the entrance was overflowing. Inside, it looked neat. Unlimited tea with high tea should be requested more often, or put a pot of tea on the table. Unfortunately, the chocolate churrows were not tasty. Otherwise, it was fine. We were there on a Sunday and there seemed to be very little staff. 3 people.

This was the second time I had high tea, but the first time was at De Beren bij de Kuip, and I definitely think that one is better than at this location. Fortunately, it was a Kruidvat 1+1 offer.

In one word: amazing again! This time we came for the Saturday offer. The well-known offer for the satay meal. The food was amazing again, the service too, and so was the atmosphere. We have been to this branch many times, and certainly not the last. Still, only 4 instead of 5 stars for the service, and here is why: As guests with mobility issues, we like to use the disabled parking spaces directly in front of the restaurant (and yes, we have a disabled parking permit). But there is something about them..... Against the side hedge is a regular parking space and then two disabled parking spaces, indicated by the well-known signs. This parking space by the hedge is barely usable, because getting in or out on the hedge side is impossible. The two disabled parking spaces have the same width (read: narrowness) as all the other parking spaces. So, why not divide these 3 parking spaces in total over 2 disabled parking spaces? Then disabled people can get in and out normally, and that third spot by the hedge will serve a purpose after all. What needs to be done is to paint some new lines on the road and move the two posts with the parking signs a little. It's just an idea :-)

It is a cozy restaurant with a nice atmosphere. A compliment to the staff.

Bad high tea. Everything is of cheap quality. Standard items that are briefly warmed up or thawed. You have to pay an extra 7.50 pp for a few chocolates. And 2 mini pieces of bread with toppings on the side. The size of a baguette slice. We also didn't get a teapot on the table. There weren't enough of them. The staff were in the back unpacking packages together and taking photos of each other. It was difficult to make eye contact for another cup of tea. Definitely not worth 27.50.

The dame blanche is not €10 for 3 very small scoops of ice cream. Satay and peanut sauce are delicious.

Friendly service, also quick. Good food. The selection could be more extensive. The restaurant has been renovated, but if we hadn't asked what had been changed, we wouldn't have noticed. The kitchen, bar, and cash register have been mainly updated. We took advantage of the 1+1 offer because Beren Barendrecht has been renovated.

Nice atmosphere and deliciously tender meat, though a few minor points for improvement Together with my girlfriend, we took advantage of the promotion where the 2nd three-course menu was free (a nice discount of € 29.99!). We arrived on Sunday at 5:00 PM. The first impression was very pleasant: a nice atmosphere, a pleasant welcome, and fortunately, we were allowed to choose where we wanted to sit. The service was quick and polite all evening. Starter: We chose the gyoza and the short ribs. The ribs were deliciously tender and fell right off the bone. However, we found both dishes to be quite a bit spicier than the menu suggested ("mildly spicy"). It was also a pity that there was no separate bowl for the bones and that we had to ask for wet wipes ourselves. The gyoza tasted very good. Main course: My girlfriend had the pork tenderloin with mushroom sauce and regular fries. This was a bullseye: the meat was nice and tender, the sauce was very good, and the fries were nice and crispy. I had the spicy chicken with sweet potato fries. The chicken was nice and hot, but unfortunately the fries were a bit less so. The dish itself (lots of onion, bell pepper, and chicken) was spicy, but not very spectacular. Dessert & Atmosphere: The Dame Blanche to finish was very tasty! As the evening progressed, it did get very busy and noisy, making it a bit harder to hear each other at one point. Finally, settling the bill was quick and smooth. All in all, a successful evening with good value for money!

The restaurant was full but we were still served quickly, no long waits to order or get food. Great.

It's a shame that the apple crumble has changed in flavor.

As promised, we sat in a quiet corner. The service was pleasant. The carpaccio was excellent and the other dishes were also fine.

After a long time, this De Beren branch is thankfully open again. I gratefully took advantage of the opening offer: a 3-course menu for 1. The meal was delicious. A big compliment to the staff. Very friendly, cheerful, and attentive, despite the crowds.

What an experience! We went to eat at these bears as part of the reopening promotion. On the way to the restaurant, I read a review that said “the tomato soup is just warm enough to say it wasn't ice cold,” and we discovered the accuracy of this when the starter arrived. The prawns were truly disappointing, probably prepared in the afternoon and not even placed under a heat lamp; the rib fingers had a nice flavor but were certainly not freshly prepared. The main course was a truly comical meal. The burger (which was originally supposed to cost €18) was the smallest burger they could find on the largest bun they had placed on the table, with some pathetic ingredients added in an attempt to make up for it… The mayo with the fries was genuinely the best part of the whole experience here. The dessert was fine.

Beren Barendrecht was closed for a while but fortunately reopened. The food was good again, as was the service. We will definitely be back!

Today we ate at De Beren in Barendrecht for the first time. Overall, it is a very nice location, but the food and service leave much to be desired. We were assured that the soup would be completely gluten-free, but after investigating ourselves, we discovered that the meatballs did contain gluten. The waitress's reaction to this was: "Oh right, sorry, I didn't know that.(?!)" In the end, we were served cold fries three times and a cold spicy crispy chicken once. The crispy chicken came back lukewarm again and suddenly without sauce, which was also very strange. The fry sauce was also forgotten, and when we ordered extra butter, we didn't get it either. After this experience, we will not be returning to De Beren.

Our food had to be sent back several times; most of the time it was cold—not lukewarm, not warm, really cold! The hosts seem to be doing their best, but there appears to be a lack of capacity; the place wasn't even full. For what you pay, the value for money is very poor.

It was pleasantly busy with good food. We waited 5 minutes at the cash register, but no one came, so we went into the restaurant and were asked to go back to the cash register, which we did, and we were told: "We were just busy for a moment." Yes, that can happen, but the way it was done was a bit rushed and not customer-friendly, but later she was nice and cheerful again, so just the wrong time to come in :)

The food was good. It is striking that dishes are served differently. The prawns were cold this time. Last week they were warm. The pork tenderloin satay wasn't super hot either. The quality was good.

We have been to De Beren many times over the years. When it was still called Barend Beer and Betty Beer, the food was tasty and reasonably priced. Since it has been called just De Beren, they have tried to shed that familiar 'food factory' image and make it a bit more upscale, especially regarding the prices. I think that is all fine and understandable, but the food you get is something I could easily prepare myself at home, and let's just say I'm not exactly a culinary expert. Again, I finished my plate; it was fine, but the image of plenty of tasty food at a good price has gone to ordinary food at a high price. We already have enough of those kinds of restaurants in the world. I might have given 4 stars if my average experience hadn't ended up solely at De Beren itself. Apparently, you only end up at the Google reviews if I had selected 'Good experience'.

Nice 1 + 1 offer. Tasty truffle croquettes. Tasty hamburger, but the garnish was a bit meager. Soggy bacon, left it and just a slice of cheese. Apple crumble delicious. Staff friendly.

It is fine, but simple. The 2nd menu was free, so great for what you get. It was very busy, so it took a bit longer, but oh well, it's a nice outing. The service was friendly!

For me, De Beren Barendrecht is by far the nicest, coziest Beren location. Super friendly and helpful service is the main reason why De Beren Barendrecht is my favorite place for lunch, high tea, and dinner. The food is also always delicious and of good quality! In short, highly recommended!

Due to a malfunction in the ordering system, we had to wait an hour between our starter and main course. Fortunately, your employee realized this after more than half an hour and placed the order again.

Nice promotion via Facebook and received a nice discount on the 3-course menu. We were served cold fries, but this was quickly rectified without any issues, hence the 4 stars. Quite a noisy environment. Friendly service and, for now, the price-quality ratio was fine. However, I do note that an extra €3.00 is charged per bowl for sweet potato fries, and I find this quite excessive.

Good food, great service, the atmosphere is good, although we were seated right next to the counter and it was a bit noisy. The only minor downside was that my dessert (espresso martini) arrived only after my partner's dessert and extra drink.

Expected more after reopening; the food was as always, reasonable. Service was substandard; we were assigned a table near the spot where kegs are placed using folding chairs. Another table was not possible due to a shortage of staff, which is a shame as there were plenty of tables available. An accident involving a waitress, where a drink spilled on a person, was handled strangely. First they cleaned the floor, and only after that person complained was a cloth handed over so it could be dabbed dry. In short, this gives no reason to return.

The food was fine and came out reasonably quickly. The first round of drinks took well over 20 minutes. The second round also took 15+ minutes. The wait staff was understaffed, but they were also often just loafing around behind the bar. The spareribs menu now consists of 2 ribs instead of 3. It's equivalent to two kids' menus, only you end up paying less with a kids' menu. Incidentally, I received an email asking for a review. In the email, "poor" and "average" gave an error message. I could only rate if I clicked "good". All in all, I don't think we will be coming back here anytime soon. I found the drinks process particularly scandalously long. Waiting a little while is no problem, but more than 20 minutes is bizarre. And there was no one upstairs at that time.

The restaurant had just reopened and they had a nice offer: a 3-course menu buy one get one free. There was plenty of parking available. We received a friendly welcome inside and were able to choose our table. The service was friendly, though some still needed to get used to the routine. The service was prompt and unhurried; the balance between ordering and serving was good. The dishes were tasty and there was plenty of food. We would definitely recommend it.

This is a restaurant where the service is always top-notch. The staff here are always incredibly friendly and helpful. The food is delicious; the menu is extensive (just like the other restaurants). The restaurant is easy to reach by car, right next to the highway.

Yesterday, I went to eat at De Beren for Mother's Day. Unfortunately, it was a very disappointing experience. I had ordered a Berenburger, but it looked like someone had sat on it. The bun was completely flattened, and the hamburger was served cold. I pointed this out to the staff immediately. I was told that a new burger would be made. To my surprise, however, they returned within a minute with the same plate and the same hamburger. The only thing that seemed to have changed was the top bun. The dessert, a Dame Blanche, was also of very poor quality. The ice cream seemed to have come straight from the freezer, the whipped cream had collapsed, and the dessert was tasteless. In short: very disappointing quality, especially considering the price charged for it. I had expected a pleasant and well-cared-for evening on Mother's Day, but unfortunately, the opposite was the case.

Very cozy location with delicious satay

Last went 4 years ago; both of us threw up that same night, everything came right back up through the bottom and top. Yesterday, I decided to give it a try again with friends. We chose the Sharing menu; the carpaccio came with the hot dishes—a mistake by someone who forgot to include it with the previous round. The end result: everything came back up for my wife again tonight, and for me the next morning, it was also fucking hot in that place, not normal. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone!!

I recently dined at De Beren in Barendrecht, but unfortunately, it was a bit disappointing. I ordered salmon, but the portion was quite small for the price. To be honest, I wasn't full after the main course. For dessert, I chose the lava cake, but that wasn't a success either. There was no "lava" present and the cake was even cold, not what you expect from such a dessert. All in all, I had expected more, especially considering the price-quality ratio.

The food was good but could be better; my wife's hamburger was excellent, my spareribs were a bit burnt. The service was top-notch, a nice lady who helped attentively. The atmosphere was also good. The dessert was delicious, a chocolate cup with ice cream.

The staff were very helpful regarding the time planning in connection with the Ahoy concert and planning a three-course menu. We had a delicious meal and arrived at Ahoy perfectly on time.

Unexpectedly went for lunch on Easter Monday. Except for the youthful waitress, everyone looked like they were working at Monika's. Lunch menu: hamburger for €18.50. At that price, you expect at least a good hamburger on a plate with some presentation. The bun itself was cold, causing the hamburger to cool down quickly as well. The Whopper had better toppings. Otherwise, no decorative trim on the plate. I ordered a carpaccio. The lunch menu states it comes with bread. I received a plate with carpaccio but without bread. I waited a bit, but nothing came. The "head waitress" said I should have mentioned that, because now I have the carpaccio starter... Huh? I chose from the lunch menu after all. I received a piece of bread, but it didn't sit well. The satay was better and was also served on a plate with prawn crackers and pickled vegetables. That at least looked like a restaurant meal. Paying €90. We won't be doing that again anytime soon. Disappointing.

There were four of us having lunch. I had the ciabatta with brie (bacon, walnuts, honey, and caramelized onions). Big disappointment: I received two pre-packaged gluten-free bread rolls, 3 lettuce leaves, and 4 thin slices of brie), but no ciabatta, no walnuts, no onions, and no honey. I pointed out to the waiter that it wasn't listed like that on the menu. A very expensive sandwich for 14.50. What a shame! Cappuccino instead of espresso... oh well.

Check your receipt!!! Had dinner with my wife and one little one; there was a bit of a wait, but okay, maybe there was a shortage of staff at that moment. The food was adequate. After paying, I walked to my car and thought it was actually quite on the high side... I checked the receipt. There were errors on it. With the 3-course menu, they had charged me for the chicken satay as well as an extra children's menu.... I got my money back immediately (€26) and was asked if there were any other errors... as if it is very common for just anything to appear on the receipt... I find it suspicious myself, almost giving the impression that once the customer is gone, someone credits it and pockets the bag.... Check your receipt!
