I went there without expectations and without a reservation. I was greeted by an extremely friendly lady and ordered my food. After ordering, I was pleasantly surprised by their monthly special at a competitive rate, including a nice little gift! Great menu and generous portions at a fair price! Last Friday, we had a delicious meal at Restaurant De Beren on our last day in Dordrecht. After a beautiful walk through the historic city center, we rounded it off with delicious chicken satay at this restaurant. Friendly staff! Highly recommended if you are in the area.

The food is very tasty and worth coming here to eat. However, the service is very poor. They make mistakes and/or forget things. It also takes an incredibly long time for them to clear the table. I sat with an empty plate in front of me for 20 minutes.

We had high tea at De Beren in Dordrecht with my daughters. It was very enjoyable. We were served in a friendly manner, the food was delicious and there was more than enough of it. I didn't feel any time pressure. All in all, a super good experience!

We stopped by today; they had put up 'reserved' signs almost everywhere so that no one could sit on the terrace. When we asked something, she told us they were short on staff and that was how they were solving it. We went for a drink elsewhere where it was nice.

I would just like to share my experience with you. We visit De Beren quite often, but we dined at your restaurant on a Saturday. We made a reservation by phone about two weeks in advance. For 12 people. When we finally arrived at the restaurant, there was no reservation in it. A table had to be prepared quickly. In the meantime, we pointed out that two wheelchairs were waiting outside to be allowed inside. Unfortunately, they were not allowed in. They just have to wait. That is literally what was said. We had to wait outside with them for over 10 minutes. Very sloppy! The food order went well. It was a very friendly lady! (She was one of the few). When our starter arrived, one of the people had tomato soup. He was simply given a small bowl that was broken at the rim. A large piece was missing. Surely that shouldn't happen, I assume? When it came to the main course, two dishes were missing. After 5 minutes, the two guests received their food really late, while we had already started. Many of the dishes were good. Unfortunately, one had black edges on the spareribs, and the one with the truffle burger was dry and also had those same black edges. When it came to dessert, things didn't go well again. We had 8 ice creams, which arrived before the tea. That only came (after asking multiple times) once the desserts were finished. I had sent an email. But. As I had expected... no response.

I bought a high tea for two for my girlfriend via Kruidvat. When my girlfriend handed in the voucher with the Kruidvat barcode, this was suddenly deemed insufficient, and the Kruidvat receipt still had to be shown. Due to the rude and rigid attitude of the staff, my girlfriend ended up having to pay for the high tea again. In short, she paid once via the Kruidvat promotion and again at De Beren because the Kruidvat promotion was not accepted. It is a bit childish to make people pay again. There was a clear, unique barcode and proof that payment had been made.

We had reserved for 1:30 PM. We received the pot of water/tea at 1:20 PM (I was a little early), the food itself at 1:45 PM, which I found a bit disappointing. Delicious and varied food. Soup, caffeo sandwich, salmon sandwich, scone, apple pie crème bâté, donut, cream puff. It was just the right portion size. Good value for money.

We had a high tea and it was certainly okay and generous. The wait staff were quite young, nice and helpful, but not always attentive to the little things. Nevertheless, it is definitely worth recommending.

We booked a high tea through Kruidvat for Mother's Day. What a treat. Delicious sandwiches, tasty apple crumble, and all kinds of other delicacies. We highly recommend the high tea.

Very disappointing evening. We came here for Father's Day and we will never be coming back. Starters did not arrive at the same time, the bread still needed to be baked, and the truffle croquettes were COLD. After waiting an hour for the main course, we received COLD fries and dried-out chicken satay with sauce (sat under the heat lamp too long). The food was taken back to the kitchen with great difficulty. We did eventually get hot fries. We skipped dessert for this reason. The service lacked overview and was uninterested. A waste of your time and money.

I have never had to wait this long. We had a Social Deal with soup, starter, main course, and dessert. There was a full 45 minutes between the soup and the second starter, and then another 45 minutes until the main course. I asked a few times if the food could be served a bit faster, but it was just laughed off. I felt truly powerless. My other criticisms pale in comparison to the long, inhumane wait, so I won't post them here. However, my son insisted I compliment the ice cream on the Dame Blanche, so here is our compliments... but really, only come here if you have absolutely nothing else to do..

One of the Dutch restaurants I've been to more than 5-6 times. The food is delicious. I've been there with my kids, my friend, and my family. I used to really like the cocktails, especially the Mojito. But in the last year, the cocktails have gotten worse. So, minus -1 ⭐️

We had high tea just before Mother's Day. The staff was very friendly and the food was fine. There were a little too many sweet items, but that wasn't too bad because we were allowed to take the leftovers home. Absolutely fantastic!

This was actually already the third bad experience with De Beren Dordrecht. The staff also thinks it's normal to smoke next to eating customers.

Went out for dinner tonight with husband and children; starter was fine. My daughter's main course was a chicken burger that was hard and dried out. So I called over the staff, and they clearly said that if you get a new one, it could be the same again. So my daughter chose a beef burger. The fries were served in a container with a thick layer of oil in it. They also didn't ask if everything was to our liking. The waiter who served us first went to a colleague to clear our table. Too bad, but no more Beren for us.

We ate there yesterday with 6 people; I have never seen such uninterested and grumpy staff. We almost had to trip a waiter to order a drink. The only one who definitely tried her best was a lady who eventually served the drinks, even though it was probably her first day. In short, make it fun yourself, don't rely on the staff, and bring your own drinks if possible.

We arrived at 9:00 PM, while the website states that the restaurant is open until 10:00 PM. Upon entering, we were informed that the kitchen was about to close and that we could only order main courses, which is understandable in itself. What was less pleasant, however, was that a large part of the menu subsequently turned out to be unavailable, and even coffee or a cocktail could no longer be ordered. When we asked why this was the case, we were told that it was quiet and that they were closing earlier because it would not be “worth it” in terms of staffing costs. This gave us the feeling that we were actually no longer welcome, even though we arrived within opening hours. It is a shame, because with clearer communication and a bit more hospitality, this could have gone much more pleasantly. I did not order any food myself; I no longer felt welcome at all.

Grabbed a bite to eat at De Beren in Dordrecht this week. Nice place, beautifully decorated and comfortable seating. Especially if you can sit on one of the round benches. Unfortunately quite pricey, but what isn't these days... Service friendly, food tasty. My favorite is and remains the chicken satay. Desserts are always good! 😋 We love driving to Dordt to eat here. We ate with 2 adults and 2 children. The staff was friendly and the atmosphere was fine. However, it took a very long time for our food to arrive. The vegetarian satay was quite burnt and the beef tips were undercooked, even though my husband had specifically requested that. We did not accept the option to get new satay because we had already waited a long time. The kids' food was good, though. Fine, but not worth repeating.

It was very nice and we had booked via Social Deal. But everything went fine with the booking and we really enjoyed ourselves 👍

Friendly service and nice for lunch

On a beautiful spring day in April, my buddy and I were taking a leisurely stroll in Dordrecht to get something to eat. When we arrived at De Beren, we spoke to a staff member who claimed we couldn't eat that evening. When we asked why, the staff member didn't quite know what to say. Eventually, stammering and stuttering, he managed to say that we couldn't get any more food because it had run out, even though the whole place was eating. We find this very unfortunate and, disappointed, went looking for another place that did still have food. We think it is a very strange situation that such a large restaurant has no capacity and hasn't prepared for this.

The only comment is that the (round) table we were offered is a bit on the small side when dining with five people. Otherwise, everything was fine.

Unsuspectingly, we entered the historic building through the revolving doors. The original hall gave way to a chic, modern establishment that extended far back. We received a friendly welcome and were given a table in the corner of the room near the window, illuminated by several spotlights in the ceiling. The service was extremely friendly, helpful, and not at all intrusive. We enjoyed a delicious three-course dinner and some excellent non-alcoholic drinks. We left the restaurant with a smile.
