We hadn't been for a while because we had a bad experience. But the new owners have got it perfectly back on track; we enjoyed ourselves again, and what delicious dishes. It was top-notch again, we'll be back soon.

Great food at a good price. Excellent, very personal service, and they had reserved a quiet spot for us again. The lady who served us remembered that we had received such good results last time. We had a delicious two-course lunch: soup and a roll. Nicely served and tasty. The restaurant has a cozy interior. In some places, the open kitchen might be a little too prominent. We were well taken care of by Joey. Friendly and hospitable. As far as we are concerned, it is highly recommended for dining.

Great. Nice help from Yinthe and Joey. There is a lot of construction going on in the area around the location. So it isn't very atmospheric. Large parking lot nearby.

We ate at De Beren again after a long time. We hadn't been for a while because the last few times weren't really great and the reviews weren't too good either. I understood that there was a new owner now, so we decided to give it a try again. And it was truly amazing. We had a super delicious meal. My husband and I had different dishes for starters, main courses, and dessert. But everything was equally tasty. Compliments to the chefs. The service was also friendly and the food arrived quickly. Glad we went again after all, because this evening is definitely worth repeating.

Friendly staff. The chicken club sandwich was delicious. I didn't really like the tomato soup. It was a bit bitter. My colleague liked it.

I had dinner in Hoofddorp with my son. We arrived a few hours earlier than our reservation. This was no problem. We were helped wonderfully right away. The service was excellent, and the waiter was incredibly friendly. We had a nice conversation with my son and me, which really contributed to our lovely evening there!

After years, we gave it another try. Unfortunately, we found the food disappointing. It also lacks atmosphere; the restaurant was very quiet and uninviting. A compliment, however, to the lovely waitress.

We had made a reservation quite late, and the kitchen was even started up again for us. The staff was super friendly! The service is truly an example of the right combination of hospitality expert and teacher in passing on/teaching the correct procedures for a hospitality professional! Enjoyed the food and the expertise and friendliness of the staff!

A really nice place to eat. Fast service and friendly staff. I had a hard time choosing because everything looked delicious. In the end, I chose the 3-course menu with my girlfriend. I would definitely want to come back here to eat again!

I dined here using a Social Deal and was very pleased with it. The value for money was excellent and the portions were generous. The food was tasty and nicely presented. The service was friendly and helpful, making us feel welcome. The atmosphere in the restaurant was cozy and relaxed. Even with a Social Deal, we received good service, which is certainly not a given everywhere. I would gladly return here again and can definitely recommend De Beren in Hoofddorp.

A warm welcome, great dishes at a good price, and hospitable staff. Very suitable for dining before the theater. One minor point: it was a very hot day, too hot for the terrace, and inside the sun was still beating down on the windows, so it was very hot too; perhaps something could be done about that?

We thoroughly enjoyed the High Tea! It was very extensive, including soup, scones, tasty sandwiches with salmon and carpaccio, and mouthwatering sweets. We were served excellently by Joey Bul! Highly recommended!

The food was delicious. It was a high tea. Too bad about the presentation. Everything on individual plates. A tiered stand would have been more practical in terms of table space. And it looks nicer too. Otherwise, a very nice waitress.

High Tea with girlfriends. It was mainly just a lot. Instead of so much sweet, we would have liked some extra savory items. We had a lot of sweets left over, but we got to take those home. All in all, a lovely few hours with plenty to eat and drink. Kudos to Joey 😉

On May 22, 2026, my partner and I went for dinner in honor of his birthday. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a disappointment. We had ordered Parma ham as a starter, and a waitress quickly appeared with a bread board. We told her that we hadn't ordered this. She returned with it five minutes later, so we repeated the same thing. On the third occasion, we received a measly little dish of Parma ham plus the bread board again; she said this was part of the package. Incidentally, this had not been indicated when we ordered. We had barely started on this starter when the main course was placed on the table alongside it! We mentioned this as well, stating that we did not expect this from a dinner, and certainly not when giving something like this as a gift! The excuse given was that a new ordering system had been introduced and that it could not distinguish between courses. It is also a shame, though, that the waitress couldn't realize that it was strange to place the main course on the table while we were still eating the starter. Perhaps the staff is too young? We ordered coffee at the end, but it never arrived. When I finally asked for the bill after waiting for half an hour, the (other) employee said, "Did the coffee arrive?" Upon my negative answer, she asked if we still wanted it, and if not, she would remove it from the bill. We ordered it anyway, but without the sweeteners we asked for, just sugar. All in all, these are experiences that make us definitely not recommend De Beren in Hoofddorp, and we will not be visiting this branch again! Regards, Mieke Stolwijk

We had such a wonderful dining experience during our trip to the Netherlands! The food was delicious, beautifully presented, and full of flavour. Joey and his staff were warm, welcoming, and made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. We would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Hoofddorp, and we would love to come back again someday.

Went out for dinner with family tonight; it was amazing. We all ordered different dishes, and it was fun to be able to taste them. We had a delicious meal, the atmosphere was good, and the service was fine. Until next time. I hope you get rid of the bad reviews from the previous owner soon. Because you deserve this chance.

Nice restaurant, tasty satay. It's just a shame that it has bad acoustics. You can't have a good conversation with your table companion.

What a relief, the food was good. Personally, I didn't like the prawn crackers. The service was fine. The waitstaff was okay to good. Our last experience was really years ago and super bad. It is nice to see and taste that there are improvements.

We found the atmosphere a bit lacking, but this is because there is still a lot of construction going on around the restaurant. We will definitely come back here again.

We had unlimited satay today. Very tasty, though it is a shame that after your first plate of 3 skewers, you only get 1 skewer each time. We went to De Beren with two electric wheelchairs. A supplier had placed a pallet of charcoal at the top of the driveway, making it extremely dangerous to get in. Luckily, Joey came out, and with a little help from me, he moved the pallet ten centimeters. The agreed-upon spot was also too small, but Joey had a solution for that too. With the help and dedication of this man and his colleagues, we had a lovely, convivial evening and a delicious meal. The taxi couldn't find us (and vice versa), but Joey did. The driver got a cup of coffee, and we were still able to enjoy our dessert. Fantastic!

Nice to have a quick bite to eat via Social Deal.

A quick bite to eat between two meetings and then on we went. The welcome was "most cordial": "Hello young lady...I'm 60, you know." 🙄 There was a lot of commotion in the open kitchen. Okay. I ordered a drink and a chicken crush burger with a side of lettuce. To my surprise, the toasted brioche bun contained a dollop of siracha mayo, half a lettuce leaf, and two fried chicken strips, but no burger. When I asked waiter number one, it turned out that no one had complained about that, but he would bring it up in the meeting with the head office, and that would be the end of the matter. I was in a hurry, so I kept eating. But if in two hours you ask me at the cash register if you enjoyed it, you'll get the same answer from me as you did with the first. He also indicated that people might find it interesting, but the complaint is never reported online. But he would bring it up in... you see... the head office. To my utter amazement, he himself had also indicated that he had reservations about this dish and had already discussed them. So please respond via GOOGLE. Here it is. (Three photos - the last one is a comparison) De Beren Hoofddorp. Such a shame.

Ultimately, I'm only giving it 2 stars... We didn't have very high expectations, but unfortunately, the price-quality ratio was even more disappointing. The spare ribs were clearly from a cheap wholesaler, and all for 30 euros. Two weeks ago, I had the best spare ribs ever for much less in the center of Haarlem. The staff did their best, a large team, but they lacked experience. You can clearly tell this is a large, mass-produced chain.

Not the quality I'm used to from other Beren franchises. The food, the presentation of the plates, and the service were all just not quite right. Everyone tries their best and makes the best of it. A bad evening can happen, but we won't be returning.

I was with a friend and we both ordered steak rolls. When the bowl of rolls arrived, along with a portion of fries, we both realized it was very small. So we immediately ordered fries. It was still not enough for dinner. The Dame Blanche, also expensive, with hot chocolate was disappointing. Doesn't hot chocolate solidify on ice cream? All in all, we spent almost €50.00, and the food wasn't great. The steak roll dish was delicious, though. Incidentally, because of the high ceiling, 5 to 7 meters high, cold air regularly came in. They won't see me here.

Ordering food was quick, but everything after that seemed to go wrong. We were with a group of 8 people and arrived at around 6 pm. Half of us ordered the 3 course menu, including me and it took quite a lot of time for the starters to arrive. At first, only 2 of us got served, the rest of our orders seemed to have gotten lost. After asking about it, it took again quite a while for them to get served. One of us ordered the very expensive Chateaubriand, medium rare and received it well done, but compliments to the restaurant for replacing it after he went to the manager. Drinks were also frequently forgotten or mixed up and at the end, I didn't even receive my dessert, that was part of my 3 course menu. This was 3 hours in and unfortunately I had to leave. There was nothing wrong with the taste of the food in my opinion, but overall a pretty bad experience. Would not recommend or go there again myself.

The food was very tasty but if you want to drink it takes a very long time before someone comes and the serving of the food was also very slow, one side of the table had already finished the food and then I finally got my food

When we arrived, the restaurant was empty. We looked around for a moment, and a waitress was in a corner, on her phone, unaware of our arrival. When I finally took my order, I received the wrong sandwich. The empty soup bowls on our table weren't cleared, nor were other tables still full of plates even though customers had long since left. It all felt a bit clumsy. We wouldn't go back.

It was fun, the food was good. The dessert was a bit too big, but delicious. Went home satisfied 😁

We received a very friendly welcome from the staff member who also hosted us for the evening: Tom. He works efficiently, keeps everything organized, and chats with everyone. A fantastic host. The food and drinks all arrived promptly, and we didn't have to wait long for anything. The price/quality ratio of the food is excellent. I would have preferred a bit more flavor to the carpaccio (with a bit of extra pepper, among other things) and the crème brûlée (with more vanilla flavor).

Great atmosphere, food and service all around! Joey B was super friendly and quick. The burger was the best I've ever had and my wife enjoyed the schnitzel.
