Just had a delicious meal on Boxing Day. The service was fantastic and they really care about you. Lisa was our server. Absolutely fantastic! The food, which was also very important, was delicious. Carpaccio, Tournedos, and coffee cake with ice cream for dessert. Did you have a lovely chat with Jessica? Beren Hoorn, that's the perfect place. We left feeling wonderful and satisfied a few hours later. We even got a lovely Christmas ornament in the shape of a skewer for the tree. See you soon!

Delicious carpaccio and sea bream. The satay was also delicious. The sugar bread toast was very tasty, and the service was quick and friendly.

A very nice restaurant. Upstairs, there's a play area for children, unfortunately, very close to the stairs. Perhaps it would have been better if it were downstairs. Always delicious food, a wide children's menu, and friendly staff. The atmosphere is very cozy and creates a pleasant atmosphere. The restrooms are always clean and tidy.

I ate at De Beren last night to celebrate our 33rd wedding anniversary. I eat there often, but yesterday, De Beren managed to serve a bread board, a main course with cold fries, and dessert within an hour, making my evening out a huge disappointment. It's a real shame. P.S. The meat was very tasty.

Always great food. The service sometimes leaves a bit to be desired; a long wait for mayonnaise, no cutlery with your food, and fries that didn't come with the meal. The various dishes (my favorites: the spicy crispy chicken and the club sandwich) are always good. All in all, the food is great; we often come here for a quick bite when we don't feel like cooking.

Review De Beren Hoorn: My experience at De Beren in Hoorn was very disappointing. Upon arrival, we were seated unfriendly and had to pick up our dishes ourselves and put them back on the table. The service was slow and disinterested, and even when we paid, there was no attention to our experience. In short, a disappointing experience where you'd be better off spending your money elsewhere.

The food wasn't really warm. The fries that came with it were just cold. It was also very dark inside.

Tried it for the third time, and it was another disappointment. The shop has a lovely atmosphere, but the service is very mediocre. It takes ages to get it right. The food isn't consistently good either. Yesterday, I was eating a salmon club sandwich with a soulless guacamole. I paid in tears and drove home with screeching tires.

Tonight we had a three-course meal at De Beren. It was delicious. We had salmon and a Beren burger. It was very tasty and made with care. Compliments to the chef and staff.

The restaurant looks cozy and the menu is quite extensive.

I ate at De Beren today, but I was really disappointed. The tuna sandwich used to be delicious, served on tasty farmhouse bread. Now you get a plain, pre-baked roll, which takes away the charm of the whole dish. The triffel fries also seem like cheap frozen fries, limp and tasteless. A shame, because De Beren has always stood for good quality and fresh food. It really wasn't worth the money. Hopefully, they'll fix it soon, because this was far below the old standard.

Cozy atmosphere and good multi-course menus, something for everyone and at a good price! One minor point: the courses were served quickly one after the other, which was a shame. We'll definitely be back!

If you are on the road and want to eat well, excellent.

The food is okay, but the cocktails are quite expensive. It's very noisy. The staff isn't very service-oriented. We were charged twice because the bill hadn't been settled after the first payment. It then took a very long time to get the overpaid amount refunded. We had to explain it several times before it was accepted as true.

What I personally found unacceptable was that the coffee (a cappuccino and an Irish coffee) was forgotten three times, despite repeatedly informing them that a particular dessert was no longer available. Upon arrival, we were greeted politely. We had made a reservation for three people, but the restaurant seemed empty. We were seated at a very small table in a corner (there was plenty of room for something larger). Our first order was already a mistake with the drinks: one beer, one bitter lemon, and one wine. We received everything except the wine. We inquired about this, and it was delivered later. Main course: the side dishes arrived with it: two French fries and one sweet potato fries. The latter only arrived after I had already finished three-quarters of my plate (and I was taking it easy). Then someone came over so I could inquire. When the fries arrived, there were only two pieces of meat left on my plate, which was practically empty. The woman walked over, almost threw the container into another, and said, "And the fries." She asked if we enjoyed them, and we told her they were good. There was a brief silence, after which we joined in and explained everything that had gone wrong. Dessert: I asked for the menu again. After looking at it, I realized that wasn't particularly unusual either, so I skipped it. However, before she brought it, we saw her come around the corner and quickly snap back. Her expression clearly said: "Oh yeah, shit, I still have to bring the menu." NO ONE TIME an apology or anything else as an excuse. When we paid, we weren't even asked if everything was to our liking or to our liking. They were more preoccupied with each other and with a table and bill that hadn't been processed. They saw that there was a debit card and shoved the payment terminal right in front of us: "on top," "under PIN code." Have a nice evening. I was literally left speechless at how bad the service was here. Even McDonald's is more polite and courteous. This was a once-in-a-lifetime visit. P.S. If you do eat here, get a starter because the amount of a main course isn't enough! (I also visited McDonald's for this later!)

The food was delicious and of good quality. Only the carpaccio was very sparsely topped. The hostess was very friendly and did her best to please. It's a shame that if you choose a three-course menu, you still have to pay extra for everything. There was an extra €6.50 per person! That's a bit of a shame. €29.95 is just a lure! There was also a separate charge for a dollop of whipped cream for dessert. And so the bill silently adds up. But we did have a delicious meal, that's for sure!

We were with 5 children and 7 adults. It started with the forgotten white wine we ordered. After trying to make eye contact and beckoning, I walked over to the waiter. We received the appetizer, which was delicious, but they only brought it twice, and they kept bringing dishes that were meant for other tables. The fries, baked potatoes, and sweet potatoes were forgotten with the main course. After several "sorry, sorry, it's coming," they finally arrived after we had already finished eating. They then offered them to children sitting at another table and had to wait a very long time. We were then offered a drink on the house. When I got home, I checked the bill. It was still incorrect. I paid €37.50 too much for drinks and bread. Luckily, I live nearby, so I went back. But all in all...it's a shame.

They have a separate area for parents with children. You can hear them playing, running, and laughing, mmm, you can't see them. Not that we mind.

In first time i ordered 3 course menu and they forgot second and third peice. Had to tell them everytime. This time again they forgot 3rd course. Super slow service, one cup of tea took hours to serve.

One of the few excellent value-for-money places. While you often can't eat for less than €100 for two, that's no problem here. The fact that we come back often is a direct result.

Unfortunately, the grilled steak was too tough. The medium rareness of this steak wasn't quite achieved in the kitchen either. Too bad. The Berenburger was highly recommended.

I think this is a lovely location at De Beren. There's a nice seating area upstairs, the kids can play upstairs, and the food is always delicious and good. Gluten-free too.

The restaurant's atmosphere suggested I'd be in for a burger experience that would make me forget, for a moment, that I was mortal. Unfortunately, this turned out to be the place where culinary dreams die. My order: a chicken burger. My hope: a crispy, juicy bite, perhaps a touch of freshness. The reality: a bun with a sad, sagging chicken breast that still had the echo of frostbite. And underneath… hold on tight: a dollop of coleslaw, as if someone in the kitchen thought: "Look, now it's a signature dish!" The whole thing looked like someone had dropped a sandwich at a picnic where a cyclist just rode past in the mud. Every bite was an existential crisis. The bun turned to soggy dough after two bites, the chicken had the texture of cardboard left out in the rain for too long, and the coleslaw tasted of pure despair. Even a FEBO burger who spent three days in that heated aquarium would laugh at this dish. Conclusion: If you ever want to know what it feels like to emotionally traumatize your taste buds, order this chicken burger. Otherwise: run away. ⭐☆☆☆☆ – One star, and that's for the cutlery that didn't spontaneously combust from embarrassment.

We went with our family. Kids are 12 and 14. Plenty of choices on the menu and a nice children's menu. Nice, relaxed atmosphere, friendly service. We had a starter, main course, and dessert. Easily accessible by car or bike.

It started with a dirty table. It took over 10 minutes for it to be cleaned. We had made a reservation in advance, so this could have been prevented. Then the food and service: I ordered a three-course meal, and everyone else ordered something else. I waited 20 minutes for the carpaccio, then exchanged it because it had bacon on it. Everyone else had already received their food, and then waited another 20 minutes. I tried to point this out and signaled someone twice. They made eye contact, but they completely ignored me. Finally, I got their attention and explained how long I'd been waiting. I immediately saw the waitress walk to the kitchen and grab the carpaccio. So, I'd been sitting there for 15 minutes waiting to be served. The carpaccio had become completely watery due to condensation. The other people at the table had already finished their food, and I had to wait. I canceled the salmon, we paid, and went to another restaurant to continue eating.

The tables and chairs were very dirty; it took over 10 minutes for them to be cleaned. The food was good, but the service was terrible, with only grumpy people working. We waited half an hour for a carpaccio. We told the waitress, and she then went to the kitchen and immediately grabbed the carpaccio, so it had already been ready for 15 minutes. It wasn't tasty, so we only ate half of it. Such a shame! I think it's a sad mess inside. So don't eat there unless you want to wait 30 minutes for your food and be served by grumpy staff!

Today, July 24th, we celebrated the life of our father-in-law and grandfather, who passed away on July 24th, 2024. We went to dinner at De Beren because he enjoyed it so much. It was excellent, and for us, it was very special. At the end of the main course, we saw Grandpa's car drive by. Even the license plate was correct, so it was the icing on the cake for us. We enjoyed dessert and went home satisfied.

This is a great place to eat. It's located along the main road, with plenty of parking. They have an extensive menu, including vegetarian options.

We had delicious sea bass, and my boyfriend really enjoyed the unlimited spareribs, where the meat on most ribs just slid off the bone. We also really enjoyed the dessert from the smaller menu. Strawberries (deliciously sweet), whipped cream, vanilla ice cream, a cookie, and of course, the dark chocolate bear. Very hospitable staff and a cozy atmosphere (outside with calm, cheerful music)! Definitely recommend coming for dinner, and it's definitely worth the money.

We had a tripper deal and therefore no high expectations. However, the food was really super good. Well taken care of, good portions! Often with deals you have a "lesser" version of the fully paid menu. This was not the case at all! The play corner is also really great. So you can eat quietly while your child plays.

The food and service are excellent. It's just a shame about the location. McDonald's and KFC are next door, and you overlook the old, elevated Westfrisiaweg.

What I find a pity is that the quality of the food and the service is variable. On May 2, I had a delicious dinner: the food was perfectly prepared and the service was friendly and smooth. A truly great evening! On May 31, the experience was unfortunately less. The pork tenderloin was on the dry side and the vegetables were cold. The service was also not smooth: my wine was brought quickly, but my table companion's soft drink took more than fifteen minutes, so we couldn't even toast together. The service seemed chaotic. The same with the lunch: one time it is worthless, the next time it is great. That inconsistency is a shame. If you can trust the quality and service, I would definitely go here more often. But because of these conflicting experiences, I simply don't dare to do that now.
