We enjoyed our Christmas dinner here. Beautiful, atmospheric restaurant. The menu was delicious, and the wines were very tasty. The service was smooth and friendly, young people. We had a lovely evening with our family. Thank you.

Excellent restaurant in a historic 17th-century building. Excellent cuisine with delicious dishes. The location creates a wonderful dining experience. The evening menu is also available for lunch. Guests with disabilities can request to dine downstairs, as the stairs leading upstairs are steep and quite dark. A rotating vegetarian menu is available, as well as a soup and a fish of the day. Excellent, friendly service!

Nice restaurant, unfortunately not many seats with a view of the IJsselmeer. It was also a bit drafty with the door open downstairs, so we were in a bit of a draft when the door opened. Regarding the food, I had a Serrano Ham and Onion Soup sandwich. I couldn't taste any Serrano ham in the sandwich; there was too much truffle on it and it tasted too much like a strong cheese. Furthermore, the bottom of the bread was just a bit too dark, almost burnt. This made me wonder if the chef ever tastes his food, because a Serrano ham sandwich that doesn't taste like Serrano ham...well, yeah. The onion soup was good, except for the Gruyère. It was grilled quite crispy and didn't really go well with the soup. All in all, the dishes were disappointing.

I had a reservation with you on September 13th, but unfortunately, my visit was very disappointing. Upon arrival, we received a very unwelcoming welcome. There was no table available, despite our reservation, and we were asked to wait downstairs at the bar. However, upon arrival, there was no room there either. When I kindly asked a host to get my coat for me, I was told to do so myself. This is absolutely unacceptable for a restaurant that accepts reservations. Perhaps this could be seen as an isolated incident, but I felt it was a lack of respect and hospitality. I saw no initiative to effectively resolve the problem, nor an apology from the staff. This is not a matter of taking anything personally, but a clear shortcoming in the way guests are received. Due to this course of events, we left the restaurant without dining. I would like to express my deep disappointment and let you know that this has completely destroyed my confidence in your restaurant. I strongly recommend that you urgently improve your internal organization and level of hospitality so that future guests don't have to endure the same experience!

A reservation for Saturday evening was confirmed at short notice. The location is good—right on the harbor and centrally located. The terrace is attractive, and the staff very friendly. There's a separate menu in German. The selection of dishes is small but excellent! That's a positive thing. The quality is very good, and the taste is absolutely recommendable. There's a large selection of specialty beers and wines. The prices are reasonable and even quite affordable. The restaurant is highly recommended for anyone visiting Hoorn. Dogs are welcome. We'd be happy to come back.

I haven't had such a good meal in a long time, and I'm used to a lot of restaurants, but absolutely everything was perfect! The friendly service and cozy atmosphere were also a plus. In short, a successful evening and therefore 100% recommended :)

Stopped for lunch with my wife and son. Loved it. We all loved it. The food and atmosphere were fantasitic. We had two weeks in Netherlands and Belgium and this is the restaurant I remember most fondly.

And I really enjoyed it here! The food was high-quality and delicious, the service was attentive, and sitting at the foot of the Hoofdtoren was also a nice touch. I definitely recommend it!

It was scandalous that as a paying customer on the terrace my wife was referred to the public toilet, we will never come here again!

There are interesting choices on the menu. On the top floor beautiful window view on the port of Hoorn. Cool historical building. Not very cheap

The high wine is really great! Not only the wines, but also the atmosphere, experience and the food is great. The food you get with it is really a whole meal, a pleasant surprise we found. Also non-alcoholic wines were available and it was also no problem to take a soft drink instead of a wine.

We had received a high beer as a gift. We got a great spot on the terrace (the weather was perfect for it). Delicious beers and super tasty food. Good service: friendly and we received good explanations. In short: highly recommended!

We had lunch here. There was really nothing wrong with that, large portions too. Unique place to eat, especially if you like history. See photo for impression. You go up a spiral staircase and can then look out over the harbor or city from the window. Very friendly service, food was served quickly.

Small restaurant, relaxed atmosphere, excellent food and quite affordable. Buratta with duxelles was a pleasant taste sensation. Slip soles cooked just right. Operation perfectly fine.

Reserved for 8 people on Sunday afternoon, so late lunch on the 1st floor. Welcoming reception, everything was ready. Very attentive service. Something for everyone on the lunch menu, also some vegetarian options available. Everyone ate with taste. Excellent price quality. We would love to come back again.

Everything was simply okay. My cappuccino was bad and lukewarm, my girlfriend's was okay but very hot. My pancake was okay. Service was okay. Simply nothing else to say about it, everything was just okay. Not worth repeating, but if I ever really needed coffee, it would be okay...

Lovely place to eat in Hoorn. We had dinner and the service was attentive and careful. The restaurant is located in an old tower, on the second floor, so the access is through a spiral stone stair. A lot of the lights come from candles and it makes it very cozy. The food is not fancy, it is regular but served in good portions. They offered a small kit of activities to keep my toddle busy (crayons, stickers, colouring, sudoku) and it was lovely. Very nice evening there!

Polite but very inhospitable reception... Our question; We would like something to eat, can we take a look upstairs... srry but this is not a museum and toilet use costs 50 cents. Shame! We went here specifically because we often came here 30 years ago with fond memories. So now we had a delicious lunch at the neighbors... missed opportunity!

We had a delicious meal in this special location. The narrow stairs to the top immediately indicate that it is a location with a lot of history. We started with a bread board, which is a full borel board. Be careful because this is almost a meal in itself. The spare ribs are very tender and again this was a substantial amount. For dessert the lemon cake, also very tasty. We did have to wait a relatively long time for the main course, perhaps this was because there were more large groups. A message that it may take a little longer would have been appropriate. Furthermore, the service was good.

Enjoyed a delicious meal on the terrace outside, under the beautiful Hoofdtoren. The service is fast and the food was very tasty. The burger had really good meat and came with multiple garnishes in addition to fries. The bread board beforehand was also very nice and extensive and it is very nice located in the harbor of Hoorn.

Beautiful monumental building, cozy atmosphere

I would like to rate the food, but unfortunately we didn't get anything. After waiting for over an hour, it turned out that our order had not arrived in the kitchen. It can happen, but the staff handled the situation so unfriendly and incompetently that it can only be one star.

The food was delicious and the decoration was beautiful and appropriate for the monumental building. The staff was not paying close attention; With a more active attitude, this restaurant can run better and earn more by asking more often if visitors want something to drink. Unfortunately, things went wrong for us after the starter; There was 1 hour between clearing the starter and serving the main course! We left dessert alone.

Not recommended! Tourist trap. Very unfriendly staff. We had to remind ourselves again and again that we wanted to order. Despite empty glasses on our table, we were never asked if we wanted to order anything else. After waiting 1.5 hours we asked when our food would come. They had forgotten to pass our order on to the kitchen. We paid for our drinks and left the restaurant. What was disappointing was that they didn't even apologize or try to resolve the situation in a customer-friendly way. The service doesn't even deserve one star.

Lovely location so decided to stop in for a coffee. It was busy but not overwhelming - easily got a table outside. Waitress was lacking any interest - we never got a smile. We were left waiting for a long time before being served, after asking for a drinks menu. In the meantime another family were unattended for so long that they just walked out. They never brought us an ashtray which was requested either. Another waitress brought another person's order to our table. No fresh milk available for coffee. All in all it's a shame such a stunning location and building was spoiled by disinterested staff. I don't particularly savour going to work either - but you need to go through the motions, especially in this environment. A bit later in the day we went to another place off the main drag and were met with a contrastingly different service.

After a nice walk in the pittoresk harbor of Hoorn we treated ourselves with a traditional onion soup while seated outside on the terrace. It was a delicious onion soup, which contained not only onions, cheese and some bread, but also some beef meat. Very delicious soup. Very quick and friendly service.

It's got okayish food, kinda overpriced for what it's worth, but maybe I'm paying for the location more than anything. Wouldn't go here again unless I just go just for a drink.

Was a disappointment. We had reserved a table well in advance, at the top of the window, with a view over the water. Yes, no problem, we will do that in a moment. It was not stated that there may not be service upstairs when the weather is nice because then only the terrace is open. If I had known this in advance, we would have eaten somewhere else because the terrace is not special and also drafty in the shade. Too bad, the reservation was for my 50th birthday. I deliberately asked for that spot by the window because it has meaning for us. The food was ok, nothing special, the guys in the service were very friendly.

We managed to get a table during a busy weekend which was really lucky. The setting is the ancient tower in the old port area which is stunning. Climbing the narrow winding staircase to the restaurant was brilliant and the circular seating area is not a letdown! The menu is somewhat small but variety is great. The staff helped with understanding the Dutch menu and ordering for gluten free which is no issue! I had the steak which was perfectly cooked and delicious.

It's nice to sit outside in front of the old building, but unfortunately it's right on the street. Food is a bit more expensive but very tasty. Small menu but also something vegetarian. Large wine selection.

With our main dishes we must have side dishes (fries, salad, etc.). received. But when we asked, we had to pay extra for everything. Portions were generally very small.

We sat downstairs, which is slightly closed (few windows, but that makes sense), but cozy. There is more light and space upstairs.

In Hoorn, with the harbor in sight, we arrived at restaurant "de Hoofdtoren", despite the beautiful weather, we found a quiet spot inside. After looking at the menu, my choice for my dinner was "fish of the day". After my order I already received a small taste of bread with "Olive tapenade". The dinner was great. The staff is super friendly, nice and helpful. Definitely a location I can recommend.

We had drinks and snacks and it was the King’s Day… great service and their WC was super clean and hygiene.

We waren hier met ons bedrijf om hier te dineren. We zaten boven, wat een geweldige ambiance. We hadden een arrangement afgesproken wat helemaal volgens afspraak ging. Het eten was heerlijk en de gastvrijheid top.

Small and cozy restaurant. The service was okay, but the food was not good. The spareribs sometimes had large pieces of fat on them and the burger was also very red on the inside. If you leave the burger as raw, red, tell them this and ask if that is okay. There were also other people who had their food cold. It's a shame the food wasn't good, because the location is great.

Very beautiful view around: the harbour, ancient and modern ships, the outskirts of Julianapark. The restaurant has delicious pancakes. I also really liked the unobtrusive service; you can sit quietly at the outside tables without making an order (outside of rush hour).

Unexpectedly, we decided to have a cup of coffee while passing by (without a reservation). We were told it was full, but we were only allowed to have a drink. Even though only 2 tables were occupied and we had already indicated that we would be ready around 6:00 PM, we received the bill without asking. I found it humiliating and antisocial. I would have stuck to it at the beginning and not offered us a table. Read lots of good reviews, but I don't think I would come here a second time, with a reservation of course. A very beautiful historic place with beautiful views.

We have walked past this tower before. Only now did we notice that it was possible to eat. You enter the tower via a narrow stone staircase. What a surprise this restaurant is. Beautiful location and a beautiful view over the water and the boats. I think the price of the food could be a little higher. For lunch for 4 people, 2 drinks per person and an extra plate of fries, we only spent 54 euros. You pay more with competitors. Of course it's nice that the price wasn't high.

Prachtige entourage met fijne sfeer. Service liet te wensen over vandaag. Allereerst werd er een gerecht te weinig uitgeserveerd. Kan gebeuren, maar geen excuses, terwijl die tafelgenoot grotendeels alleen moest eten. Als hoofdgerecht had ik varkenshaas besteld, maar kennelijk waren de inkopen niet goed gedaan, want ik kreeg zonder waarschuwing (naast twee kleine stukjes varkenshaas) ook twee stukjes runder-draadjesvlees op mijn bord. Je zult maar allergisch zijn. Ook was het eten koud. Omdat ik de sfeer niet wilde verpesten, heb ik niets gezegd, want het was erg gezellig, maar ik hoop dat jullie zelf snappen dat dit onder de maat was. Het dessert was wel erg lekker. Hoop dat het de volgende keer weer als vanouds is, want vandaag was de prijs/kwaliteit ver te zoeken. Jullie kunnen echt veel beter.

Gezellig gegeten in de hoofdtoren met collega's. Eten is goed. Broodplank voor 4 personen is aan te raden. Hoofdgerechten ook goed. De desserts echt lekker. Gezellige atmosfeer en personeel niks op aan te merken.

Eten was heerlijk, leuke ambiance alleen duurde het ruim 20 min voordat wij de menukaart kregen. Verder top locatie.

Goed eten op een mooie historische locatie aan de haven van Hoorn

Wat een leuke locatie. De buitenkant van het pand en de nieuwsgierigheid naar de binnenkant trok ons naar binnen. Via een stenen trap loop je naar boven waar achter een houten karakteristieke deur het knusse restaurant zit. Heerlijke uitsmijter en brood kroket gegeten. Brood was lekker vers en knapperig.

Un excellent restaurant dans un cadre historique d un château fort. La cuisine très raffinée et des plats généreux. Un service impeccable et même en français (québécois). Nous avons mangé du poisson qui a été vraiment excellent. Un rapport qualité prix très bien.

Nettes Ambiente. Freundlicher Service. Speisekarte auf Deutsch. Leider fehlte einiges. Dass Pilze und Spinat zu den Spaghetti mit Gambas und Lachs serviert wurde, war nirgends zu lesen. Lachs ungewöhnlich in "Aufschnittform". Die Gemüsebeilagen für 3 reichten für 1 Person. Pommes für 2 (?) ebenfalls nur ausreichend für 1. Insgesamt wenig gewürzt. Wenn eine Zwiebelsuppe Fleisch enthält, sollte das auch auf der Karte stehen. Der Vegetarier wunderte sich...

Met een vriendin hier een high wine gedaan. We kregen 4 wijnen, 4 gerechten en we sloten af met een scroppino. Betreft het aantal wijnen en eten kregen we royaal. Helaas was de high wine toch niet helemaal naar verwachting. Er werd niks over de wijnen verteld, enkel dat ze bij de geserveerde gerechtjes passen. Ook werd de nieuwe wijn al ingeschonken waar de eerdere glazen ver van leeg waren ( en ik drink echt niet langzaam;)). De bediening liet in ieder geval niet merken dat ze ook maar iets van interesse had in wijn. Ook werd ons om half 5 verzocht om te gaan ivm de avond gasten. Het eten was oké, mooi opgemaakte borden, sommige gerechten prima, andere wat minder spannend. Al met al door het bovenstaande was de sfeer tussen ons en de bediening naar mijn idee een beetje awkward helaas. De locatie is inderdaad prachtig en was er goed nagedacht over ons prachtige tafeltje met uitzicht op het water.
