Mediocre service, food nothing special and expensive

The food is good, the service is okay. The only downside is that the wine glasses could be a bit fuller.

The spareribs are delicious, so tender they fall off the bone. The service is friendly. They could just fill the wine glasses a bit fuller.

We enjoyed delicious spare ribs, steak, and sole with the family. Highly recommended!

Wow, what a delicious meal! We truly enjoyed the hospitality and the delicious food! We had prawns as a starter (delicious), then spare ribs and a tournedos with sambal gravy... for dessert, a caramel sundae... it was truly fantastic! The owner is a lovely woman, and you're well taken care of... delicious applesauce with the meal, just like at home ♥️

I come here every year for my birthday, always a nice atmosphere and delicious food.

Yesterday evening, my wife and I went to this beautiful restaurant for the first time and we really enjoyed it. Both the carpaccio and the spareribs were delicious. I had a delicious ice cream sundae with caramel sauce for dessert and my wife had a great decaf coffee. Furthermore, the service was extremely friendly and attentive. Worth repeating!

Sinds de nieuwe eigenaar erin zit een aantal keren wezen eten. En het is nog net zo lekker! De heerlijke ossenhaas en het vriendelijke personeel maakt het helemaal af. Wij komen hier in ieder geval met veel plezier!

Beef tenderloin satay was not tender, small bowl of fries for two. Way too expensive for what you get. Waiter was friendly but had to do everything on his own.

Ook in het verleden goede ervaring met dit restaurant. De nieuwe eigenaar heeft het meteen goed voortgezet. Heerlijk gegeten (Ossenhaas en Ribeye) en prettige bediening. Voor herhaling vatbaar.

We really enjoyed it. The food was fantastic, I had the salmon which was delicious. The spareribs were delicious, the meat slid right off the bone, perfectly cooked and full of flavor. Heerlijke biefstuk, eerlijk is eerlijk vorig jaar was er qua bediening nog wel wat te leren. Maar nu gaat alles goed en vlot. Ook de kwaliteit vlees was erg goed. Restaurant is ook ideaal voor mensen die slecht te been zijn. Mijn schoonvader in rolstoel kreeg een goede plek en ze kwamen meerdere keren praatje maken en vragen of alles goed was. Fijne sfeer wij komen zeker nog terug

Recently had a great evening at De Boerderij by Charrels. This restaurant knows exactly how to create a pleasant evening! The hospitality was also top notch; the staff was friendly and gave good recommendations. The restaurant itself is very cozy and atmospheric, partly thanks to the beautiful fireplace in the middle. Super delicious food, in cozy surroundings. The Farm By Charrels offers all this. The cook is great, Claudia too, but not to forget the staff who run around with so much pleasure. For me it is the best restaurant in the area. Basically giving up for a star. You should also taste the atmosphere. That's great.

The restaurant appears to have recently changed owners. We ate quite well, but the staff and owners are not catering people. Quite a lot went wrong and not just with us. We had to wait quite a while for our main course, when someone came to ask if we wanted to see the dessert menu. My answer was to eat first. As said the food is good. We had several dishes and everything was tasty and large portions. Don't expect a star restaurant and 1st class service, then you will have a fun and exciting evening. The price was also in good proportion.

Price is way too high for what you get. There were 4 people, the four of us had to share the bowl of fries, 5 fries each. Snitzel special was also disappointing, I really had to look for what was on the special. My wife had sludge tongue. My goldfish are bigger. My brother-in-law had spare ribs, lay bare on a wooden plank without a rind or anything like that. Mine had rib eye and that was decent No more farm near Charrels for us.

We eat here regularly. My friend and grandmother always default to the steak, which is very well prepared. I requested some adjustments for the food and this was no problem. Service and atmosphere in the restaurant are good. We'll come again next time.

Unfortunately, the place has been taken over by new owners and I can report that it is in really bad shape. Without spoiling too much, the food is bad and the wait staff inexperienced. I really hesitated to write a review at the time because I didn't want to immediately kick new entrepreneurs into the ground. Now I hear you thinking why this review now. To my great surprise, I just received an email from you about the fact that you have a new team and that everything is better than ever. I have never given permission to store my data and certainly not to use it for advertising purposes. Do you find it downright antisocial that this information that I am obliged to fill in for a reservation is stored and reused?

The food was delicious and the decor is very cozy. The snitzel was the only one that was disappointing and was very dry... But this was resolved well and another dish was offered (this chicken was also very dry)👍 The staff did not come to ask if everything was tasty. This was certainly not worth repeating🙃

A cozy restaurant where you can enjoy a delicious meal. A simple menu but good. Friendly spontaneous people. The price may be a little less, but it is also what you find important. On the other hand, it is a well-filled plate and delicious ice cream. Clean toilets, spacious and a large mirror is just a small detail that gives a smile.

Belachelijke tent. Dag of 10 geleden was de zaak gesloten om prive redenen. Maar vandaag nog steeds dicht. 10 dagen later dus. Maar wel reserveringen per internet aannemen zonder tegen bericht of vermelding. Sta je daar met je hoogbejaarde moeder voor haar verjaardag. Ballentent.

The restaurant is somewhat hidden in a residential area. We were near our hotel and were looking for a good restaurant. We were not disappointed here! Very friendly staff, nice atmosphere inside and the food is really delicious. The portions are sufficient and the prices are good. I can only recommend anyone looking for good food to come here. It's a real shame that the old owners/waitresses are no longer there. Food was not tasty, the vibe is completely gone. You are also constantly looked at from the bar as if you are an alien... I don't recommend this restaurant to anyone anymore.

We ended up here spontaneously last Saturday, what a warm atmosphere there is, very nice people and excellent food. Stay for a long time because it is so nice there. Keep it up dear people, we will definitely come back again.

What a great place this is...perfectly tasty carpaccio and bruschetta...not to mention the tenderloin...perfect cooking, tender and juicy beef and large portions...including fries, lettuce, applesauce and great brown gravy... .lovely hostess and cook who will speak to you kindly and help and take care of you.. I recommend everyone to come here and enjoy a delicious tenderloin.... Dear people, thank you for the wonderful evening... love

What a disappointment this was today! 😔 No atmosphere & no filled other tables. The only table that was 'filled' were all acquaintances or staff I think. From the kitchen we heard discussions taking place between staff all the time, probably. The steak was dry on the outside, very red on the inside, black on the outside. The gravy didn't taste like anything. We were only served fries on the table. We asked for white bread, which is delivered toasted. Toasted bread to dip in your gravy 🤦🏼‍♀️ ... No, that's not how it should be. Well, we didn't eat it and quickly paid and left. Unfortunately we won't be coming back here again.

very unprofessional service, it was as if they were raking. very bad food ordered a tenderloin this was definitely not tenderloin Ribey was also very bad carpaccio it looked like diamond tenderloin cut no tenderloin we paid €171.00 with 3 people this was certainly too much for what we ate we will not eat here again! despite the new owner, good luck, my advice is to find a good chef. Kom al jaren bij “Boerderij Charles” maar met de nieuwe eigenaar en personeel is het iets heel anders geworden. Personeel is zeker niet zo als ik gewend was, om een lang verhaal kort te houden, ik kom niet niet meer. De hele sfeer is uit het restaurant.

The new owners are doing their best. The food was delicious. The service at other tables was a bit messy, but we had a great evening. The onion soup was not a standout, but the steaks were excellent! They are highly recommended.

Gisteren met kerstavond daar gegeten. Wat een ballentent!!! We waren om 18:30 binnen en om 20:00 hadden we nog niet eens een voorgerecht. We waren er met 2 kleine kinderen, te schandalig voor woorden. Personeel dat rondliep was niet goed op elkaar afgestemd. Kwamen vaak terug naar onze tafel om bestellingen te her bevestigen. Tafeltje naast ons met 2 personen kwamen later binnen werden eerder bediend en waren eerder vertrokken. En als klap op de vuurpijl kregen we zogenaamde ossenhaas biefstuk die niet te eten was!! Biefstuk die tijdens het bakken door het midden was gesneden!! Nee hoor, sinds de tent is overgenomen is het heel erg achteruit gegaan. Hier zie je ons niet meer terug!! (Naderhand buiten waren er meerdere mensen aan het klagen over de kwaliteit van het eten en de lange wachttijd) Wij gaan wel weer naar Loetje of naar El Gaucho om een GOED biefstukje te eten. Kerstavond dankzij dit restaurant helemaal verpest!!

Had a fantastic Christmas Day. Upon arrival it was neatly stated that there were 3 sick people and that it could take a little longer. No problem, we didn't even notice that there were sick people. It went smoothly. At the end, the staff and guests threw a party, first with Christmas music and then a few Dutch sing-along songs. Really big compliments to the entire team + substitutes. I (secretly) find these new owners even nicer than the previous owners. The current operators have an eye for all guests, the previous owners also had an eye for everyone, but more for the regular guests.

Een hele gezellige avond gehad! Het eten was fantastisch. Ze raadde mij de garnalen in room aan als voorgerecht en deze was heerlijk! De ossenhaas was gewoonweg perfect. Sfeer was gezellig, personeel was heel vriendelijk en gezellig. Zeker een aanrader!

Restaurant de Boerderij by Charrels in Voorburg..bezorgen netjes het bestelde eten op tijd..en zoals verwacht is het eten heel lekker..ik zou het iedereen aanraden mocht je niet willen koken..top restaurant echt een aanrader

Ondanks een nieuwe eigenaresse vriendelijk, behulpzaam personeel en nog steeds heerlijke eten als vanouds. We blijven vaste klant.

Voor het eerst hier gegeten. Superaardige bediening. Ontzettend lekkere biefstuk! Prima prijs kwaliteit. Minder 'hippe uitstraling '. Deed ons denken aan vroeger.

Altijd lekker eten en er hangt heer een fijne sfeer. Zowel in de zaak als onder het personeel. Het is echt genieten als je hier komt een ruime keus in het menu.

We gingen weer terug voor de beroemde Ossenhaas Biefstuk. Er werd van te voren helaas niet gevraagd hoe we de biefstuk wilde, dus deze was medium gebakken terwijl wij normaalgesproken altijd rare eten. Opzich niet verkeerd, maar jammer dat dit niet gevraagd was en bij ons was het er ook bij ingeschoten om dit specifiek te vragen. Verder prima gegeten, maar om nou te zeggen dat het echt geweldig was en we thuis nooit zo lekker een ossenhaasbiefstuk zouden eten.. nee dat niet en zeker niet voor 30 euro voor de ossenhaasbiefstuk. Ik ben bang dat we niet snel meer zullen terugkeren, helaas!

Nu 2 leer gegeten maar vond het niet optimaal. Overigens vond mijn man het wel heel lekker!

Heerlijk gegeten en de bediening is heel persoonlijk! Ik kom terug 👍
