A very romantic spot in the center of Axel. A pleasant, warm atmosphere. Here you can simply enjoy a cup of aromatic coffee and pastries, a glass of fine wine, or simply enjoy delicious food with the whole family. I love this place.

Delicious dishes, excellent service, cozy place.

It was pleasant, but the food was inconsistent. We had a veal appetizer, but it was full of tendons, not tender, and difficult to cut and chew. The main course of Belgian beef fillet was delicious, but the pasta with shrimp tagliatelle was dry, and unfortunately, the tagliatelle was overcooked. The service and atmosphere were truly fantastic.

Had a nice dinner with colleagues yesterday From Pgs den Doelder, it was very tasty and there was also a wide choice on the menu, it is highly recommended to visit there.

Today, after a late visit to Pot Interieur, I looked for a place to eat in Axel and opted for De Graanbeurs. Venison carpaccio, game pâté, duck breast and the winter cake were all very tasty. Service was very friendly, price/quality very correct and portions more than large enough. We will definitely come back, because the regular menu also had more than enough dishes that we would like to try.

Mixed grill was disappointing as it was one skewer with different types of meat. Tasted dry. Mussels were tasty.

The food was excellent and the welcome we received even though we arrived late for the stated closing time was very pleasant. The waiters/waitresses were very kind to us by offering to translate the menu which was in Dutch for example. We highly recommend this establishment!

Very nice business in cozy Axel. Friendly service and owner. Extensive map. Wide range of delicious Belgian beers and mocktails. Very good value for money. O.a. The fried eel is absolutely recommended. We will happily return here.

Reserved a table almost a week ago, then get last minute cancellation. With out any explanation. Tried calling and goes over and the sudden line busy. Pretty bad experience.

Acoustics could be better, sometimes it is difficult to understand each other. Food was good and friendly service, nice restaurant.

We ate delicious fried eel again. There is no better place to eat them than at the Graanbeurs. With friendly service and therefore a party to experience.

The Graanbeurs is located in a monumental building on the only shopping street in the small Zeeland town of Axel. The facade says “café” but that was bricked in a long time ago and may not be removed. However, it is not a café but a real restaurant and a very good and cozy restaurant at that. We ate salmon and chateaubriand there. The fish was fried on one side on the skin as it should be and was served with delicious homemade dill sauce. The meat was very thick and tender and was completed with a great homemade port sauce. Finally, the Dame Blanche was served with a special warm callebout chocolate sauce, just as it should always be Inside it is spacious, pleasant and cozy. In short, if you want to have a good meal in Axel, you should do so in the Graanbeurs!

Went to this restaurant for the first time tonight and we were more than pleased with it and would definitely return. The decor is warm and cozy and the staff is very friendly and attentive. Then the food and drinks, which are certainly excellent. We had the scallops with serrano ham and the vitello tonato as a starter, both were perfectly prepared, tasty and were on the table quickly enough. The choice of wine and special beers is wide enough to offer something for everyone. As a main course we had the Oriental salmon and the Cocq au vin, both of which were delicious. After the espresso martini and the delicious Scottish single malt whiskey, we were both satisfied and walked home with a satisfied feeling. As said, highly recommended and we will certainly return more often.

Had a delicious meal last Sunday. Friendly service and nice atmosphere. Restaurant is nicely decorated with warm lighting. We sat comfortably in the corner near the door. Even though it was quite busy, there was no noise pollution from other people. In short, highly recommended.

The Grain Exchange in Axel goes back to the 16th century and you can still feel that. The light enters through windows that bear witness to ancient times. The beams in the ceiling have probably been reflecting the sound of voices at the tables and bar for centuries. The attractive interior was painted by Johannes Vermeer: ​​blue and gold, in subtle light from well-chosen lamps. From minute 1 we enjoyed the atmosphere in the restaurant, also thanks to the attentive friendliness of the patron and service. And the meal? That was delicious! Perfectly prepared cod and tender, tasty farm chicken. The menu does not offer a lengthy list of dishes, which only contributes to the quality of what is served. There is a good varied selection, including a nice vegetarian menu. The wine list offers an interesting variation in white, red and rosé, short and well documented in terms of country, grape and taste palette. And you can drink a cocktail without getting the feeling that a pickpocket sneaked past your table, you will be spared that hangover. The Graanbeurs is a hidden gem in Axel! (I actually want to go back today! 😅)

Received another new meal, on time to the minute and again great quality and certainly sufficient!! Chappeau!!! We are staying in Axel for a weekend. We found restaurant De Graanbeurs on the internet. Ordered food on a gamble. It was delivered promptly at the agreed time. And it was really, really tasty. Unfortunately we are only in Zeeland for a weekend, otherwise we would definitely have ordered again. So it is definitely worth ordering food here.
