What a lovely place! And very friendly, whether you come just for a drink or to enjoy the restaurant. You are always welcomed warmly. We had come here often before to enjoy a drink on the terrace during our stays in Ossenisse. Now we decided to make use of the restaurant for my husband's birthday! When making a reservation, we were asked if we had something to celebrate! So I had mentioned my husband's birthday. What a warm welcome; my husband was also congratulated by several staff members, which certainly pleased him. There was also a surprise with the dessert. We chose the set menu, which was very tasty and well-presented! We are very satisfied and will definitely come back here! Both on the terrace and in the restaurant. The only downside (which was actually our fault) was that we had forgotten our umbrella. But one of the staff members had put it aside! Until another customer came to pick up her forgotten bag from HEMA.... She also said that the umbrella was hers, and that another staff member had given it to her! Which the employee certainly couldn't do anything about! It's a pity there are still dishonest customers! But oh, it's just an umbrella! See you soon for sure!!

We found this restaurant via Google while on our way from Bruges (Belgium) to Kamperland. The men suddenly felt like having spareribs, so we took the exit to Terneuzen. In hindsight, that was an excellent choice! The spareribs were deliciously tender and so soft that you could even eat them with a knife and fork. I chose the chicken satay myself, and that was incredibly tasty too. Since we had skipped lunch, we decided to have dessert as well: the homemade tiramisu. Nice and creamy and quite rich, but absolutely worth it. With full bellies, we continued our journey. We are glad we stopped here and can definitely recommend this restaurant!

In itself, a place that has everything to run a top-notch terrace. When we were there, customers (even just for a drink) were turned away due to the crowds. Eventually, the terrace on the market square was half empty and they kept turning customers away. Not a problem for us, but bizarre to see. We ate delicious nachos with a drink.

During the street fair in Terneuzen, we settled down on the terrace here for a drink. Even though the terrace was completely full, we were served surprisingly quickly and very kindly. The service was spontaneous, attentive, and kept waiting times short, which certainly deserves praise at such a busy time. I chose the Carolus Whisky Infused Blond, a surprisingly tasty specialty beer with a lovely, smooth whisky flavor. Ideal for quietly enjoying on the terrace.

Had a tasty lunch, though it was very pricey. The cappuccino was (good) coffee with a soapy mixture from a machine, priced like one made by a barista: not recommended. Nice spot, in an otherwise not very cozy Terneuzen. The men's toilet was not clean.

The chef's menu was good, including the starter and dessert. I had made a reservation and was then asked if it was for a special occasion. I entered "for a 70th birthday," but nothing further was done with it; why is it even a question then? See below for vegetarian options. Overall, I had a nice evening.

Cozy restaurant, friendly staff, clean restrooms. It's a bit of a shame that everything is quite expensive for what you get. At first, I thought my cappuccino was a normal cup of coffee, purely because it was served in such a small cup. A simple toasted sandwich costs €8. Otherwise, it was tasty.

Last Saturday evening we stopped in for dinner. Despite the restaurant being packed, including a large group, everything went smoothly. The service was provided by two lovely ladies who were incredibly friendly and spontaneous. Their hospitality was noticeable from start to finish and made the atmosphere even more pleasant. We felt very welcome! The food was excellent. The stew was well-filled and served with delicious fresh fries. Highly recommended! Compliments!!

Coffee is delicious, but TERNEUZEN MUNICIPALITY, PLEASE DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS POOR VACANCY. Such a nice place in a city center that looks like a war zone. SAD.

We come here for lunch every now and then. It's a wonderful place to have a quiet lunch (without anyone looking away), chat, and relax. You can sit inside or on the terrace. It's also a great place to be in the winter sun. The food is simply excellent, the service incredibly friendly, and the prices are comparable to other similar restaurants. Parking isn't available right outside, but it is a short walk away.

Had a lovely lunch, nice atmosphere

The restaurant is very nice and has a pleasant atmosphere, with friendly staff. Unfortunately, I think it's gone downhill a bit lately. The "12 o'clock snack" has become more expensive and less extensive than before (no more soup and only one croquette). I also find €12.50 for a waffle with fruit a bit steep. It's a shame, because it used to be very good.

What happened to the Court? For a "portion" of fries—that's 10 fries in a tiny container (!), which we didn't know about—you pay €4.75! The sandwich came from the freezer with factory-made cheese on it, and the pulled chicken was a real disgrace (and therefore expensive for what you get). The service left much to be desired. What a shame! We won't be coming back for a while.

The food takes quite a long time

The food and drinks were delicious. There was only room left at the high tables. The main course and dessert were fantastic!

A beautifully decorated, cozy restaurant where you receive a friendly welcome, after which we could find our own table. The food was good, quick, and plentiful. The tomato soup (in combination with the 12 o'clock snack) is highly recommended. And the seagull? He's watching me to make sure everyone washes their hands after using the restroom! ;-)

We waited an hour, ordered sirloin steak, and received bad, cheap meat, and it smelled terrible. My husband and I noticed it immediately because we couldn't eat it. We finally took it, since we'd paid €100 for it, but we ended up throwing it away. I'm pregnant. They first gave me a "mini salad," and it was awful, a mix of lettuce and nuts. Truth be told, we left disappointed.

Fantastic dining and drinking establishment in an ideal location. The food is delicious, the service excellent (the waiters and waitresses have "Good service, happy people" on the back of their T-shirts, and rightly so). It's a pleasant place to sit, and everything is very clean.

We enjoyed sitting on the terrace in the sunshine. Inside, we were able to charge our bike batteries so we could continue our journey fully charged.

We don't come here that often. But we looked for a lunch spot and it was pleasantly full. Sorry, but we don't like to sit somewhere where there are no people. So we sat here for a lunch with a 12 o'clock snack and some croquettes. Great lunch. Definitely worth repeating!

As a resident of Terneuzen (of course) I have already visited several times. For dinner with a group, lunch and just coffee while shopping. Everything is always well taken care of with an attentive, friendly owner/hostess and - very importantly - always attentive and friendly service from the employees. In my opinion, one of the best catering establishments in Terneuzen!

Delicious food, friendly staff, ideally located for visiting the Scheldt theater

Not good enough. Had to wait a very long time for the food, and even then it was disappointing. The stew was scandalous and we had to send it back. Meat cannot be cut, just like chewing gum. Stew should be buttery soft. So either not cooked enough or skimp on price by taking muscle meat. Nicely resolved by removing this from the bill. The sirloin steak was of good quality, but for €38.50 I expected something more than a corn cob and a piece of herb butter on the plate. Not even a sauce. This really didn't make sense at all for that price. Service was OK at times, but also typically Dutch at times. Tip: always look at the customer's glasses. Mine was empty for an hour. Good for your turnover. I arranged a second round myself, but after that I gave up.

I personally think it has deteriorated a bit lately. The 12 hour hour is no longer what it used to be and has become quite expensive for what you get. First you got an extra bowl of soup and now you have to order it with it, you also only get 1 croquette instead of 2 that you always got before. I also think it's a bit exaggerated for a waffle with fruit etc. for €12.50. Very unfortunate. For the rest, it is a very nice restaurant with a pleasant atmosphere and very friendly staff.

From today (27/4/24) a new card. With a beet salad for €16.50 and a fish salad for €21.50. See the photos for the size of the portions. They are very small and not at all what we are normally used to from the dish. We really hope that they do something about this very soon, because this was a travesty.

1.50 for a small dollop of fake whipped cream? 6.25 for a small piece of apple pie? Don't bother, it's not worth it

The Gentelman steak with mushroom cream sauce was inedible. Muscles everywhere in the meat and the sauce is as thin as water. There is almost no pleasant conversation and at first the servers are nice, but at a certain point they almost start throwing you drinks. We ordered the steak medium rare. Personally, I think it has gone a bit backwards. My 12 hour meal consisted of a so-called Rotterdam egg with brown edges. The shrimp croquette had a fishy aftertaste. The tuna salad and additional salad were fine. No choice in type of bread, standard white. It certainly wasn't bad, good atmosphere and the staff is friendly, but I didn't think it was really great. It lacks the old allure from years ago. I didn't like seeing the waiter coughing in public without his hand over his mouth. Let's hope this was a one-off.
