A restaurant spanning two streets 😏. The food is good, but the prices ☹️ ❓️ 🤔 😔. Well... In my opinion, it's a bit too expensive 🤷. The portions are small, and the price is too high 😔. Next time, I'll think twice before eating there.

The owner was a bit pushy with his story about mustard soup, and that wasn't really in the mood for lunch. My wife ordered a croquette with a roll; unfortunately, the roll turned out to be unavailable and she received two (stale) slices of bread... The spicy chicken sandwich was decent but not spicy and not hot as described. When I wanted to pay, the employee in question had gone to the toilet, so unfortunately that took a while... definitely not recommended!

Warm welcome and fine service. But the lunch dishes are very disappointing; not really very special. I had the Italian roll with mushrooms. It was more like a mushroom and cheese sauce poured over a bun, and moreover, very salty. The men's restroom was far from clean. The love here comes from the service, but certainly not from the kitchen.

Had a delicious lunch today at this cozy restaurant. The mustard soup with specialty wine is a little ritual. Two spoonfuls of soup followed by a sip of wine. The experience is amazing. The restaurant is located in the city center, but just slightly away from the hustle and bustle. As a result, the ambiance is unparalleled, nestled among beautiful old buildings. Highly recommended!

Good food for a good price and friendly staff

On March 6th, my husband and I celebrated my 75th birthday. We thoroughly enjoyed the excellent four-course meal. Everything was perfectly seasoned. You have to try the mustard soup. Delicious! The host was super friendly and took the time to chat. The service was also excellent. All in all, this restaurant is highly recommended.

We had a wonderful meal here last Saturday. The menu is great and the ingredients are delicious! They offered excellent wine recommendations, and the food was carefully prepared and served hot! The service was excellent, with a fun, detailed explanation. Definitely try the mustard soup; it's amazing! The name "de liefde" (Love) doesn't refer to a relationship, but to the love for food and the wine served, and that's what makes the team so special. Highly recommended!

On a beautiful Saturday afternoon, we enjoyed a delicious lunch in a lovely setting and encountered very friendly and hospitable staff. Of course, we enjoyed the excellent mustard soup, and the other dishes were also prepared with care and love. And they were very accommodating to our dietary needs!

A few months ago, we ended up here for soup. Mustard soup was so delicious that we decided to go back. Friends of ours recently got married, and as a gift, we took them out for dinner, and then we thought, "We're going to Restaurant de Liefde." Well, we had a wonderful evening. We chose the 4-course surprise menu. We had a truly delicious meal with wonderful wine pairings. What lovely people; we were treated very hospitably and received advice on the pairing wines. The sommelier spoke about the wines with such enthusiasm and love. All four of us were impressed, and we'd never eaten so well before. It's a true gem in Doesburg. We will definitely be back. Compliments also to the chef and the presentation of the food, because the eye wants to see it too. If you're looking for a nice, small, intimate restaurant, look no further; this is definitely worth a visit. A truly top-notch restaurant!

Pleasant and good restaurant with a surprising menu. Tasty food, friendly service.

What started as a spontaneous meeting in front of this restaurant led to a family lunch. The owner is a man who can talk fantastically about his dishes and the flavors, the pairings of good wine with the right dishes, and so we had the best mustard soup with the perfect wine to go with it, while the men had a spicy chicken sandwich. We have never had such delicious soup, and we indeed had a "Wow" moment, just as the owner predicted. Highly recommended, and the spicy chicken sandwich was delicious too! The cooking here is done with passion and a lot of love. The service was fantastic and very sweet!! We are not from the area, but we will definitely eat here again when we are in this region again.

A group of nine dined at this restaurant, which truly lives up to its name. But you have to experience it yourself. They put a lot of care into the food. You can see and taste it. They have a wealth of knowledge about the different wines. You can taste it. In short: a lovely restaurant in a romantic setting.

We recently dined at Restaurant De Liefde. Unfortunately, the experience didn't live up to our expectations. The owner presented himself as a vinologist and praised the dishes and wines with great conviction, which raised our expectations. Vinologist isn't a protected title; only vinologists registered with the wine academy can be considered such. The "vinologist" at this establishment isn't registered with the academy. In practice, however, the dishes proved to be rather standard in presentation and taste. The owner's wine presentation was a bit underwhelming: the explanation was superficial, questions were answered evasively, and when we inquired about his supposedly award-winning mustard soup, it turned out the "award" came from a friend who runs the Mustard Museum. This left us with the feeling that the service was primarily marketing talk rather than substantive knowledge. Furthermore, there were several errors in the service. My wife was served meat, even though she had ordered fish. The wines weren't poured at the table, which should enhance the experience of a wine pairing. The overall picture left us with the feeling that we were being promised more than we actually delivered. This contributed to a disappointing experience.

Small toasted sandwich €11.50 with a small amount of ketchup. No dressing, no salad, etc., which is a shame. I expected more for that price.

We ate at Restaurant de Liefde for the first time to round off our holiday. We had a three-course surprise menu, which we thoroughly enjoyed. The wine pairing was excellent, though we found the price a bit steep.

We had a delicious meal in a pleasant atmosphere. The menu was excellent, with plenty of variety and surprising dishes. We drank the pairing wines recommended for each course by the very enthusiastic sommelier. We didn't find them particularly special, and at €10 a glass, they were too expensive. Besides, we'd like to see which bottle the wine came from if it's supposed to be so special, not just the already filled glasses.

The appetizer was good. The main course was excellent. Dessert was a disappointment. Furthermore, the sommelier is very knowledgeable about the wines. It's a shame that, after the recommendation, he brings filled glasses and doesn't pour them at the table with a little explanation. It would have been clearer.

€19.50 for 2 cups of coffee and 1 apple pie. The apple pie was €5.50, so apparently the coffee was very expensive. The waiter was friendly, but he could have been a bit less pushy. We arrived in the morning, but he would have preferred us to start enjoying the wine and mustard soup right away. Judging by the reviews, we're not the only ones; I don't think we'll be back.

Opinions among our group were divided. What really bothered us was the €7.95 charge after we'd asked for some extra bread with our starter. Six slices of French bread and an extra jar of butter. We'd never experienced that before.

Old nostalgia perfect and nice people.

Today, July 17th, after a wonderful wellness day at De Valkenberg in Rheden, I went to restaurant De Liefde in Doesburg, just a short distance away. I had already read several positive reviews on Maps, which made me very curious. All in all, 5 stars! The restaurant had only just reopened a few days after a fire at a nearby restaurant. The welcome from the hostess was very welcoming, and the sommelier is incredibly knowledgeable about the wines and shares his knowledge with great enthusiasm. It's so nice to see how the family works together here, with mother, father, and son all contributing to the experience. The food itself was also very good, with delicious flavors and combinations. As a starter, I had the mustard soup with a delicious wine pairing, and for the main course, I had the stuffed pork tenderloin with a very tasty sauce. The dessert was also 👌👌, a trifle (see photo) that was excellent! Highly recommended!

Well, it started so well: an enthusiastic welcome, an inspired story about the best soup and accompanying wine and a parasol that was secured extra. And then came the soup: awarded and prepared with white Priorat that would make it velvety soft? Well no: boiling from the microwave, with a skin that had already started to form and that was salty. Too bad about the Priorat. The recommended accompanying (dessert) wine was ok, but could not compete with the salty violence. What a disappointment!

Cosy accessible restaurant with nice music in the background. Delicious dishes also for the vegetarian. The wines a bit on the high side in terms of price. But the staff has passion and they radiate that, very nice to see. If we are in the area we will definitely come back!

Restaurant De Liefde in Doesburg is really one of our favorite places. We regularly come for a delicious soup during lunch or for a delicious high tea. The spinach soup and mustard soup are both deliciously full of flavor. The high tea is also a party every time, super delicious. Highly recommended!

Niet voor niets heet dit restaurant de Liefde. Je krijgt hier liefde geserveerd! Je ontvangt een bijzondere gastvrijheid van gastheer Yoreck en een heel goed advies van wijnadviseur Ben bij de heerlijke gerechten van chef Margreet. We hebben een zeer smakelijke mosterdsoep hier gegeten bij een 10 jaar oude witte port. Een geweldige combinatie. Ook bij de vleeshoofgerechten werd een mooie bijpassende wijn geadviseerd. Het dessert is heel moeilijk kiezen. De chocoladetaart is verrukkelijk, maar dit keer voor de trifle gekozen met een verrassende dessertwijn erbij. Wijnadviseur Ben geeft een prachtige beschrijving wat de wijn doet voor de smaak van alle gerechten. Een nagenieter met heerlijke likeur maakte de avond af. Je komt hier terug! Ik weet het zeker.

I was specifically looking for a vegetarian and vegan restaurant, which is difficult. I didn't find the website very inviting for vegetarians, but in an interview I read that the owners also eat vegetarian food. In my opinion, it would be nice to simply promote vegetables more and see it as a full-fledged menu and not necessarily a meatless choice. We now no longer drink alcohol and this restaurant has its own sommelier. I am very disappointed in non-alcoholic wines and I don't think it is necessary. Alternative and exciting drinks are also available. But I was surprised that the sommelier suggested a wine from Cascogne (near the Pyrenees) that he thought was very reasonable. He gave it a 7. We wanted to taste that and were quite enthusiastic. Very good balance, finally good acidity and Ismail to peach without being sweet. Long mouthfeel. And more importantly, it paired perfectly with the food. Apparently it is possible. Dishes are pricey, but the food is cooked well. And especially with love. I think that's more important. I thought the spinach soup with a little spiciness was very tasty and well balanced. My tablemate had a vegan tartare. Very nicely served. Main courses for both of us were somewhat different creations. Vegan something different from vegetarian because of the ingredients. Vegetarian was good. I thought the green beans were cooked a little too much. There were various vegetables on the plate, including turnip, I think. A small downside was my table companion's pot. That was too dry. She had watercress sauce with it, which was even better. But I'd rather have a really good vegan dish. Surprise dessert was beautifully presented with three creations. Two of which with a lot of whipped cream. Tasty, but with double whipped cream. Must be more exciting. I thought pana cotta was too sweet for me, but it was well done. Service was neat and attentive. I prefer less attention at the table, but it suits this restaurant, which is quite classic. Because we are mainly used to drinking water, we preferred tap water with the wine. That was allowed, although you could tell that they preferred to serve a bottle of tableware or spa red. I understand that you make money with that. But I also don't mind being charged for chilled tap water. Plenty of restaurants do that and you pay per bottle. Of course it is cheaper, but also more sustainable. We got a glass of water. Very nice. Anyway, thanks for the nice evening.

Very tasty food and drinks. Our visit to Love was a unique experience. The host has an enormous amount of knowledge of wine and knows how to convey this with great enthusiasm, it is clearly his passion. The chef also managed to surprise us all with his menu. Highly recommended, especially if you would like wine advice with your food to optimally experience the flavors.

Unfortunately, after receiving the lunch menu, it was completely ignored. We went for lunch elsewhere......

Unlike the first time, the second time was disappointing, we both opted for vegetarian, but the main course was disappointing. It had no taste and certainly nothing special. A bowl of lentils with chickpeas with some yoghurt. A small croquette, and a portobello that was just not enough. The wine and mustard soup were ok. Shame. Unfortunately not worth the money for the main course.

We had made a reservation for Easter brunch and wanted to pay with a dinner voucher. However, this was not accepted because it was stated that it can only be used for dinner. While the Diner Cadeau website states: “With your Diner Cadeau gift card you can have breakfast, lunch, dinner and drinks at more than 3,000 affiliated restaurants.”

Went to Easter brunch, well the hostess can take a break from schools, what a nasty pushy woman, someone who comes to you every 5 minutes I took the sandwich from the buffet a little too early for her liking and she was immediately next to me, I had to put it back, I was really surprised because the buffet was open, said no, the eggs are not there yet And then the mustard soup, I was sick of it, had such a strange taste. I couldn't recognize any bacon or mustard taste. When I pointed it out, I got some story about wine. And very little choice for brunch either, It was from 12 to 2:30, well before 1 p.m. the hostess came again to say the dessert is ready and with the arrogance. When you are ready, in other words, you can then go, This was once but never again, what a love, they don't live up to their name. The wine specialist is also pushy. Never again

I can only award this experience with 5 stars on all aspects (food, service and atmosphere). We were received very warmly. The enthusiasm and passion for the restaurant shine through from everyone in this family restaurant. Started with the (vegetarian) mustard soup in combination with a matching wine recommended by the sommelier. This gentleman's enthusiasm was infectious and he more than lives up to what he says about the choice of wine together with the dishes. We can confirm that the mustard soup has not been crowned the best in Doesburg for nothing. Based on this combination, a matching wine was also taken with the main course and dessert. The chef (son of the sommelier) knows his flavors and it is noticeable that there is a great collaboration within the family to present the most refined taste sensation possible. What flavors! Mrs. "De Liefde" creates a wonderful atmosphere and shows that she cares a lot about her guests and their experience in the restaurant. We felt very comfortable and we were very much appreciated as a guest. We would come back to Doesburg again for this restaurant alone! It personally makes me very happy when passion for the profession and love for food, drinks and flavors is so present during the restaurant experience. Thank you again Restaurant de Liefde, because for me it really applies: Love goes through the stomach!

Een high tea met de familie, het was echt voortreffelijk. De sfeer is ontzettend warm, en knus, de mensen die de high tea verzorgen aardig, en beleefd. Keuze uit soep ( die was heerlijk) daarna heerlijke hapjes, divers, hartig en zoet. Allemaal erg lekker. Zeker voor herhaling vatbaar. Heel erg bedankt voor de gezellige middag.

The owner's enthusiasm is unique. His knowledge and passion for wine is unprecedented. We had a great meal, we were a couple and the starter was a bit disappointing for one of the two (ordinary!). The wine arrangement is definitely recommended. Will we come back? Who knows, when we're in the area.

It was good food and cozy. But the wine is very expensive 8 euros for a glass of wine

Well, a bit of mixed feelings. Reception very overwhelming. Enthusiastic owner who immediately recommended the wines he selected himself, in scents and colors. We got there at 7pm. Referred to table immediately upon arrival. Got a card. Unfortunately no question was asked if we wanted something to drink. The owner's enthusiasm was infectious at first, then very irritating. I drank wine, my wife no wine. She was also not asked if she wanted something else to drink. The wines were poured behind the bar in a "steamed glass"? Never heard of it. What kind of wines they were: I don't know because I never saw the bottle. The quality of the wines was mediocre. Nothing special. Food was sufficient, the score did not exceed a 7. Coffee afterward was good. Here again the owner had selected the very best beans based on his sense of smell. Some "Fawlty Towers" like scenes. And to top it all off, a bill that you say you are against. Absolutely not a correct price-quality ratio. In summary: a pretentious restaurant that absolutely does not live up to its intentions.

Afgelopen avond hadden mijn man en ik een date night bij De Liefde, en wat een geweldige ervaring was dat! Vanaf het voorgerecht tot het dessert hebben we genoten van heerlijke gerechten en een warme, gastvrije sfeer. Ik begon met een spinaziesoep die een lichte pittigheid had – verrassend en ontzettend lekker. Mijn hoofdgerecht bestond uit perfect gegaarde zalm met een heerlijke combinatie van seizoensgroenten en romige gratin. Als afsluiting koos ik voor een trifle, een heerlijk gelaagd dessert dat precies de juiste balans had tussen zoet en fruitig. Mijn man begon met de haringbonbon met zalm en tonijn – een verfijnde en smaakvolle combinatie. Zijn hoofdgerecht, ‘Amore’s verrassing’, was een malse varkenshaas gevuld met boerenham, waarbij een door de wijnadviseur aanbevolen wijn de smaken prachtig versterkte. Voor het dessert koos hij de chocolademousse, vergezeld door een perfect bijpassende dessertwijn. Om de avond af te sluiten genoten we van een goede kop koffie en cappuccino. Ik kon het niet laten om daar nog een heerlijk zoete koffielikeur, Kahlúa, bij te nemen – een perfecte afsluiting van een sfeervolle avond. De service was fantastisch: vriendelijk, attent en met een passie voor eten en wijn. Een groot compliment aan het team voor deze topavond. Tip: Vraag de wijnadviseur om een wijnadvies bij je gerecht – het maakte onze ervaring echt compleet.

Goed gegeten in ons restaurant waar we door de jaren heen graag komen vanuit Zuid Holland. Betrokken personeel en gekozen voor het verrassingsmenu. Goede keuzes van de kok.

Mooie ambiance, voortreffelijk advies van vinoloog betreffende passende wijn bij het voor en hoofdgerecht. Het diner (alle gangen) was van buitengewoon goede kwaliteit, met liefde gemaakt en zeer goede smaak. Ontvangst en bediening uitmuntend. Je voelt je hier welkom in de sfeervolle ruimte. Absolute aanrader!!

Sfeervol restaurant in hartje Doesburg. Enthousiaste bediening en prachtige wijn spijs combinaties. De wijn in combinatie met de gerechten is een beleving. Vooral de mosterdsoep met bijpassende wijn is een aanrader.

Uistekend gegeten. Beiden mosterdsoep variant vis vooraf genomen, goede keuze, redelijk pittig en toch een heerlijke romige smaak, prima keuze voor ons. Daarna hoofdgerecht met vis, zalm voor de een en zeewolf voor de ander. Smaakvol op een bedje van groenten met een bite en voor ons beiden ruim voldoende. Daarom voor ons geen ruimte meer voor een nagerecht. De gekozen rode Italiaanse huiswijn was zacht en smaakvol. De bediening was attent, maar niet opdringerig. Kortom beiden genoten van een geweldige maaltijd in een sfeervolle ambiance.

Vanavond heerlijk gegeten. De bediening was prettig. Zowel het voor-, hoofd als nagerecht waren heerlijk. De kabeljauw was subliem bereid. Het advies van de vinoloog sprak ons aan. Al met al een aanrader.

Op een zaterdagavond moesten wij iemand wegbrengen en weer ophalen in Doesburg. Daar waren wij niet eerder geweest. Kijken of we ergens lekker konden eten voor de gezelligheid en om de tijd te overbruggen. We kwamen terecht in Restaurant De Liefde. Leuk menu en een gezellige ambiance. Veel persoonlijke aandacht van de eigenaren en de bediening. Leuk! Wijnadvies gevolgd. Rood bij wildgerechten (wildzwijn en duo eend/gans). Voortreffelijk. Wel wat duurder dan de huiswijn maar zeer de moeite waard. Ook de hoofdgerechten smaakten goed. Bij het wildzwijn-menu kregen we zelfs een upgrade. Kaasplankje toe. Bij de Liefde heet dat een 'liefdespalet! Lekker! Fijn gegeten met en zeer geëngageerde en leuke bediening!

Familiekerstdiner. 10 personen. Vegetarische menu's goed! Vis en vlees ok maar geen sensatie. Bediening: serveerster was niet van plan om alle bestellingen op te schrijven waardoor zij drie x terug kwam om nog eens te vragen wat iedereen had besteld. Zeer irritant. De flessen wijn van Euro 45 per stuk en flessen water van Euro 12 per stuk werden op tafel gekwakt. Inschenken was er niet bij. Tafels aan elkaar geschoven, geen kleed of aankleding. Kortom prijs vs prestatie niet in orde. Voor een diner niet voor herhaling vatbaar. Een snelle hap in de zomer op het terras wellicht ok.

prijs/kwaliteit kwamen niet overeen. Te duur en te weinig smaak aan het eten. Kalkoenfilet was zo goed als helemaal rauw dat ik geserveerd kreeg en moest terug naar de keuken met uiteraard een excuus van de serveerster. Het vlees van mijn moeder was niet warm genoeg. De inrichting vond ik vrij sfeerloos en goedkoop dat ook niet overeenkwam met de prijs/kwaliteit verhoudingen van dit restaurant. De stoelen zaten niet erg comfortabel. Met een amateuristisch kacheltje werd de ruimte (extra) verwarmd. Het voelde binnen niet aangenaam van temperatuur.

3-gangen verrassingsmenu gekozen en dat was goed. Lekker gegeten. Aardig personeel. Heerlijke wijnen bij de gangen (op advies van de sommelier) - al was het goed/net geweest om even de flessen erbij te tonen. Het vlees van het hoofdgerecht was lekker maar gewoon (kipfilet). Vanavond dit restaurant bezocht. We hebben heerlijk gegeten, de bijpassende wijnen die bij onze gerechten werd geadviseerd waren top. Ook was er na het diner tijd om te praten over de wijnen en het heerlijke eten. Wij raden dit restaurant dan ook aan om te bezoeken. Voor ons was dit al de tweede keer en ook in 2025 komen wij zeker terug. Wouter en Anke

Very nice and delicious food. We indicated that we did not want to drink more than two glasses of wine per person. This was taken into account. The wines with the dishes were very well recommended. The dish and wine supported each other. This is certainly worth repeating.

Een heerlijke dag om een kop Doesburgsr mosterd soep te gaan eten. Dr soep was echt zalig maar de prijs is wel wat extreem!

Wij hebben een verassende heerlijke avond gehad. Een sommelier die echt zijn wijnen kent en een gastvrouw die weet wat zij serveert en een chef kok die snapt hoe smaken bij elkaar komen. En dan de drie die hun passie combineren tot een sensationele avond. Muziek, licht en sensatie komen samen. Maar ook het huiselijke van een gezin! Onze complimenten en dankbaarheid voor deze fijne avond. Tot snel!

A real quality product, which has a very rich taste experience. Main course varied from a tournedaux and a chicken fillet, which only confirmed the great taste experience of the starter. I really give the dishes prepared by the couple's son a 10. So much care and "love" has gone into it that it really is a true sensation. The names of the various dishes are also based on the theme of love. The dessert (not unimportant) fits perfectly with the previous dishes and offers a wide choice. The desert wine also goes very well with this. In short: a very intense, varied taste experience, with an excellent combination of flavors. Het terras en restaurant moet veel uitstralen, maar de kwaliteit viel heel erg tegen. Bovendien was het in verhouding erg duur.

Heerlijk gegeten en super wijnen gedronken. Met een vriendelijke bediening die onze smaakpapillen op zijn eigenwijze voorbereide op het eten met een bijpassende wijn. Top.

Heerlijk gegeten, konden gewoon niet kiezen, zoveel lekkers. Maar wat vooral de sfeer verhoogde was het enthousiasme van de vinoloog, met zoveel passie vertellen over de wijn. En hij had gelijk, tongstrelend.
