Nice little restaurant, small but well-executed menu. Set menu for €23.50. Choice of soup, main course with fries or potatoes. Salad, vegetables. Dessert or coffee. Trilingual staff, including French, friendly and professional. ♥️ A good place at a reasonable price.

A year has passed. I came back here again because of the well-deserved stars I earned last time. This time, the steak, sauce, and salad were very good. The fries were terrible. They seemed pre-cooked without being fried. No one came to check on us. They didn't even ask if we wanted anything afterward. No service after the main course. A shame after such a good experience last time. Now three stars. We got a table at short notice, and the ambiance was lovely, with cloth napkins and good wine served in appropriate glasses. The menu impressed us. We chose the burger and the rabbit leg in a delicious plum sauce. It came with a generous portion of steamed vegetables on a warming tray, and the burger included a salad with a tasty dressing. The rabbit portion was so large that I was able to take some home, well-wrapped. We found the value for money to be excellent.

Super friendly service, good coffee, unfortunately the 3x onion soup really was way too salty, unbearable. I mentioned it to the staff, it was a shame that we responded with a shrug and that the soup should be like that, it was our fault that we are apparently used to less salt.

Vandaag een jaar later weer bij restaurant De Munt in Valkenburg gedineerd. Eerder vond ik het een pareltje in het toeristische restaurant straatje van Valkenburg. De zaak was praktisch vol en zonder reservering konden wij alleen binnen dineren. Het eten was prijs/kwaliteit gezien nog altijd goed. Voldoende groente en salade. De gebakken aardappeltjes kwamen mij wat fabrieksmatig over. Het vis trio was goed. Helaas had de drukte invloed op de bediening. Men was wel vriendelijk maar wij moesten lang op ons eerste drankje wachten ; nadat de bestelling was opgenomen werd een stokbroodje vooraf en het hoofdgerecht wel snel uit geserveerd. Er werd geen enkele keer nog gevraagd of wij wat wilden drinken. Na afloop van het hoofdgerecht duurde het ontzettend lang voordat wij een dessert konden bestellen dat dan wel weer snel gebracht werd. Conclusie: ga hier heen als het er wat rustiger is dan kan je goed eten tegen een redelijke prijs. Zo niet kies dan voor iets anders in Valkenburg ; er is voldoende aanbod.

Heerlijk gegeten! Escargots en Chateaubriand. Wat een genot! Lekkere verse groenten soorten erbij en frites en gebakken aardappelen. Echt een feestje om hier te eten! Bediening heel vriendelijk, een man die hier al meer dan 30 jaar werkt. Hij begrijpt zijn vak! Nog lekker buiten kunnen eten in de avond, omdat je vrij beschut buiten kunt zitten. Een aanrader om te genieten!

Vriendelijke ontvangst, “natuurlijk was ik solo welkom”, werkelijk heerlijk eten. Menu 3 gangen, voorgerecht gerookte zalm met wat groente en cocktail saus, hoofdgerecht lekkere tournedos met salade groente frietjes, dessert heerlijk walnootijs met nogavlokken, bijzonder de verse groente en heerlijke saladedressing. Rode huiswijn heerlijk. Alles heel vriendelijk geprijsd en dat voor hartje Valkenburg. Chapeau.

Een druk dagje na de kerst en dan even een dagje naar de grotten. Wat een hectiek in valkburg in deze gezellige dagen. Wat is het dan even fijn om te kunnen lunchen bij de munt. Deze dag stond men 3 man te bedienen. En deze waar duidelijk goed op elkaar ingespeeld. Geen moeilijke menukaart maar gewoon lekker eten. Goede attentie van het personeel om de drankjes aan te vullen en te informeren hoe de maaltijd bevalt. Hier kan je prima aanachuiven.

Met het gezin tijdens ons weekendje Valkenburg gegeten bij De Munt. Het is een leuke zaak met een fijne royale tafelopstelling. De bediening was OK, waarbij wel opvallend was de gehaastheid van de bedrijfsleider/eigenaar, dat gaf niet echt het welkome gevoel. Voor ons allen hadden we als voorafje stokbrood met diverse smeerseltjes, een prima en lekker begin. Mijn hoofdgerecht was het zuurvlees, het klassieke gerecht. Het was heerlijk vlees, maar proefde nu niet echt wat hier nu typisch Limburgs aan is. De garnituur was met (betaalde) warme groenten, rauwkost en friet dik in orde. Als dessert koos ik de Coupe Amarene. Dit bestond uit heerlijk ijs, uitstekende slagroom en heerlijke warme amarenes, waar wel wat meer van geserveerd had mogen worden gezien het kleine aantal. Al met al was het een OK ervaring.

Below par, Spoiled sour vegetable soup. “Homemade chicken pie” then apparently it is also homemade with the frumpy Christmas gift. When we indicated that we wanted to cancel the main course, the owner was inappropriately irritated and we were almost turned away. Final score… paid for half of the main courses without eating them because it had been prepared… Warm up fresh soles and a stew. Biggest nonsense. Not hospitable. If you like to eat from Knorr and Magi packets, this is the place to be.

Very old-fashioned and special. Vegetables on a warm candle on the table. Chicken in roasting gravy had hair in the gravy and chicken was sparse and tough. Chateaubriand was indicated as 450 grams, but this did not come close. Unfortunately the tournedos were also of low quality. The gentleman asked on the phone if we had any children, which was strange because it was busy inside. Then all the drunk guys were inside shouting at each other. All in all not recommended

During the holidays last week I ate at the Munt for 3 evenings (again). Delicious food every day in a nice atmosphere with friendly service. When we are in Valkenburg again we will come back.

Ate here yesterday, it was very busy, there were still 2 tables available at the back of the restaurant where there was also a large group. We ordered a drink when the waiter came and asked if we wanted to sit at the front of the restaurant, where it was a bit quieter. That was very nice! The food was very tasty, trout and satay, with vegetables, fries and potatoes, more than enough. Highly recommended, a nice restaurant where you feel very welcome!

Great and cozy restaurant on one of the main streets in Valkenburg. Cozy interior and very attentive and friendly service. We stopped in for lunch, the small menu includes a great selection of good and fresh dishes. Everything was beautifully presented, with fresh salads and produce. We enjoyed it very much and felt very comfortable. Next time we come for dinner and try this menu.

Great food and great staff. Also recommended for gluten-free. I will definitely return someday. Our youngest member has celiac disease and it was not that easy to get a bite to eat in Valkenburg. In terms of gluten-free (celiac disease and not the gluten-free fashion trend), many restaurants are still lagging behind.

Nice terrace in the center of Valkenburg. Nice meal. Small point for improvement: the baked potatoes were simply deep fried and the pork tenderloin was a bit dry but otherwise very good. Friendly service. In general, it is a pity that the kitchen closes at 9 p.m. on all occasions. We missed that and were still able to join us, but the other restaurants were already closing. It was nice that we were still welcome here.

In Valkenburg zijn een groot aantal eetgelegenheden en aan de dure kant. Restaurant gaat pas om 4 uur open wat wil zeggen dat zij op eters zijn ingericht. Prijzen waren vergelijkbaar met andere restaurants in de omgeving en de recensies waren over het algemeen goed. Wij hebben daarom gereserveerd voor 6 personen. Bij aankomst bleek dit binnen te zijn wat op zich geen probleem was maar wel vermeld had mogen worden. De menukaart is Nederlands/Frans met vlees en vis. De bediening is vriendelijk. Bij het bestellen van water of bruiswater wordt er een flinke fles water op tafel gezet waar eens bij uitzondering niet de hoofdprijs voor wordt gerekend. Het eten, vis en vlees was goed en werd begeleid door salade, warme groentes en frites/patat en gebakken aardappeltjes. Al met al was de prijs/kwaliteit naar tevredenheid, wat mij betreft een 8 1/2 voor dit restaurant.

Excellent food in the heart of tourist Valkenburg. The escargot, trout and sweetbreads are delicious. Many catering staff should apprentice with "our" waiter. He offered to fillet the trout (he had first shown the whole fish neatly) and then served the trout in two parts, so that the whole trout could be eaten warm. Top service, despite the crowds.

Had a delicious meal here last week. We were 4 people, 1 of whom had to eat gluten-free. Enough choice even for someone who has to eat gluten-free. Careful consideration is given, if something is gluten-rich, it is left out (e.g. sauces) and you get a gluten-free variant instead. The fries and baked potatoes are also gluten-free. All 4 of us ate different: fish, meat, children's menu and vegetarian. All dishes were worth repeating. Price is also okay if you look at the portions. We will definitely come again next holiday.

We ordered 2 x 3-course menus, but discovered during the main course that it was enough and indicated that we wanted to skip dessert, this was no problem. But afterwards we had to pay for it. Either indicate it, or take it off the receipt, but this is not a service.

Delicious food, the soup was really great! the tournedos was also superb. With the vegetables and mushroom sauce that tasted so delicious, the party was complete. My girlfriend was also full of praise for the asparagus with salmon. which came in 2 parts so that she could eat everything nice and warm. She finished it in less than 2 seconds and the waiter was already ready to serve her the rest, real service and really tasty food!

After a long day of cycling, we settled in Valkenburg near De Munt. Delicious food, friendly staff. Absolutely recommended!

Erg lekker geluncht in dit restaurant, de aanraders zijn de lunch-combi's (brood met 2 soorten vlees/vis/vega, plus een kopje soep), en het zuurvlees. De kaart is uitgebreid en het eten smaakte super, voor een prima prijs. Vriendelijke bediening. De sfeer en inrichting van het restaurant zijn wel wat in de jaren 80 blijven hangen.

We hadden de naam al een paar keer horen vallen. Uiteindelijk ergens eind februari geboekt en het is nu ons lievelings restaurant. We gaan bijna wekelijks terug omdat ze heel goed koken, prettig in de bediening zijn en ook nog eens redelijk betaalbaar. Omdat ik een echte vis liefhebber ben bestel ik dat regelmatig en het is eigenlijk altijd met veel zorg klaar gemaakt. Speciaal de kabeljauw en forel zijn favoriet. Je kunt kiezen uit gebakken aardappeltjes, frieten of gekookte aardappels. Hun warme groente maakt het naast een heerlijke salade echt af. Mijn vriendin is meer een vleeseter en eigenlijk altijd zeer tevreden. Ze koken gewoon heel goed bij de Munt!!!

This place pretends to be "luxury", but poor service ruins these attempts. The waiters avoided answering questions about meal, forgot to bring coffee, and didn't provide any information about alcohol-free drinks (the answer was "the standard set of drinks", so we needed to play the game "guess what we have"). Beautiful design, tasty food, but, unfortunately, not client-oriented at all.

We had made a reservation for a nice bite to eat, then we sat there for 45 minutes and no one asked what we wanted to eat. After sitting for 30 minutes, we were given a drink. NEVER AGAIN.

As we strolled through the streets of Valkenburg today and fought our way through the wide selection, we obviously decided on the right restaurant. It was our first time at Restaurant De Munt and we were very satisfied. We were warmly welcomed. A table was immediately set for us. The service was great! Just the way you want it! Professional! Very friendly, family atmosphere. The food was absolutely delicious, we just enjoyed it! Portions were sufficient and we were full. The offer of warm vegetables on a hot plate was particularly great. Everything was fresh and very tasty. We felt very comfortable and welcome. We'll definitely be back! Happy Holidays :)!

What a fantastic experience at De Munt! Delicious food, nicely decorated, nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Special dishes, even if you have to eat allergen-free. No problem, they are aware of everything! It was a real treat to be able to eat such delicious food. We had emailed in advance and stated that 1 person had to eat gluten-free and dairy-free. We will definitely come back!!

Nach dem Besuch der Weihnachtsmarkt Grotte waren wir auf der Suche nach einem Lokal um zu Abend zu essen. Schon der Gesamteindruck hat uns sehr angesprochen. Wir hatten einen Tisch im Außenbereich unter einem Wärmestrahler. Sehr netter Empfang. Das super Weihnachtsmenü ,welches wir uns bestellt haben ,war super lecker und auch reichlich. Haben dann auch gleich für den nächsten Abend reserviert. Super nette , aufmerksame und freundliche Bedienung. Können dieses Lokal wärmstens empfehlen. Ach bevor ich es vergesse noch liebe Grüße von meiner "Lebensgefahr".

Sehr schönes, gemütliches Restaurant in Valkenburg. Sehr freundliches Personal. Schöne Karte, für jeden was dabei. Tische sind nicht so eng gestellt wie in einigen anderen Restaurants in Valkenburg. Da Essengehen hier allgemein nicht günstig ist, waren die Preise um 20 € für ein Hauptgericht für uns okay.

Goed restaurant, je krijgt er echt heerlijk eten. Ze werken er echt keihard, wat een beetje ten koste gaat van de persoonlijkheid. Er wordt met regelmaat gevraagd of alles in orde is, maar echt tijd voor een klein praatje is er niet. Ze zijn snel en vriendelijk en het eten is uitmuntend, absoluut.
