Nice spot in the Utrecht forest, good food. Service is top-notch and the plates and cutlery are sparkling clean; there must be top dishwashers.

Arrived at 10.45, were seated and not served for 10 minutes, then told we were too late for the breakfast that ended at 11. Even though we arrived and were placing our order before 11.

Not very special in terms of taste. Portions are super small, even though you pay 50 euros for a menu. Came in hungry and went home hungry. Also, no cookie with tea/coffee. Service was attentive, though. They don't have cola either.

If you like to eat the same as the cows and sheep in the environment this is the place to be. €50,- for some leafs and a carrot… no thanks you. The highlight was a white beer from Brabant. (Budels with perl).

€5 for a piece of cake (even though it was delicious) just doesn't feel quite right, and the cappuccino was mediocre in taste and lukewarm.

Beautiful spot by the water to grab a bite to eat or a drink. Unfortunately, in terms of vegan cakes, only the chocolate nut cake was available. They had the vegan apple pie once before. The lemon/ginger lemonade had a deliciously refreshing taste. Beautiful area for walking as well.

Beautiful location. Nicely surrounded by greenery. You park the car and have to walk a short distance. But that is certainly no hardship, because the surroundings are a joy to behold! The menu is vegetarian. They have a bakery with all kinds of pastries, sourdough breads, and other tasty products. The coffee is good and the price is fine. You don't need to make a reservation for breakfast/lunch, but it is often busy.

Amazing organic place with lots of slow local food. Enjoyed the experience, the food is fresh and the interior is nice. Great place to stop for a bite when you’re taking a stroll. On the expensive side for my student budget, however it’s a nice change of pace.

A lovely spot for a cozy lunch, for example, after a beautiful walk along the green banks of the Kromme Rijn, where many people swim or kayak on a warm day. De Veldkeuken is a pleasant place and a nice break from your walk, both outside on the terrace on a beautiful day by the river and inside. Friendly service, sweet and warm people. Fast service and delicious food. We had the tasting menu, a kind of high tea with scones, soups, sourdough bread with toppings, and a cake of your choice. And all the food is organic and I believe everything is vegetarian? Oh, those beautifully presented cakes in the display case are also worth seeing, by the way. It's nice to pop into the little shop next door after your meal, with fresh bread, cookies, and cute little items. Highly recommended!

Food is "fancy" but particular. Over hyped due to the location, service is slow, often waiting times to be seated then cramped seating arrangement.

Had lunch here on first visit to Utrecht. Vegetarian dishes mainly but very tasty.

It used to be all so pleasant and accessible. Now, unfortunately, it's a hipster spot where you pay a fortune for a dry sandwich and aren't even allowed to use the toilet if you're not a guest. Not for me anymore. The fun is gone.

I passed by so many times in front of this restaurant without ever coming by. And this first time was memorable! The Oogstdinner, available since April is a delicious 3-course vegetarian/vegan menu composed with delicious local and seasonal products. Chicory carbonara, spelt risotto with asparagus and rhubarb millefeuille were on the menu. The place is stunning and the staff extremely friendly and amicable. Highly recommend It is said upon reservation that vegan must be requested upfront but, in our case, we could also just go for it on the spot.

This will make you happy. A unique location, tasteful decor, and distinctive lunch dishes. Anyone coming for a ham omelette will be disappointed. De Veldkeuken is like the icing on the cake, not on the applesauce. Give the carrot tart a try! Mmm...

On the recommendation of friends, we stopped by De Veldkeuken for breakfast today. We were running a bit late, but were welcomed very warmly and received a clear explanation of the breakfast and lunch options. We ultimately chose the Veldkeuken breakfast, the buckwheat mini pancakes, and the vegan brekkie. All delicious combinations! We sat comfortably on the terrace and were able to enjoy the green surroundings. Afterwards, we also bought a bag of granola and a fresh loaf of bread from the estate shop. A lovely discovery of a new spot!

If you are looking for delicious, organic and local this is the spot for you. And the surrounding nature is really the icing on the cake! The terrace is the perfect spot to enjoy a sunny day away from the noise of the city. The bakery offers many products amongst which sourdough bread that you’d hardly find anywhere else. They mill flour on site and use many different sorts of grains like heritage wheat, red spelt, emmer… We will come back as soon as we’re traveling through Holland again :)

I had No Avocado Toast: delicious. My dining companion, unfortunately, had a very unappetizing Panelle Fritte. Furthermore, it was noticeable that there was a lot of old food stuck between the slats of the tabletop. Not just at our table. Really disgusting.

Had an unforgettable Easter brunch at the field kitchen. This cost €40 p.p., which, in relation to what you got for it, borders on theft. Upon entering, the standard tables were not set in an Easter theme or anything like that. You would expect that at an Easter brunch. All the pastries were so dry that it looked like they had been cut 2 days in advance. Except for the croissant, which was so greasy that my grandpa could have used it to lubricate the rusty chain of his Solex. We started with a slice of Easter bread for everyone, plopped onto a plate for easy transport. Accompanied by a mini smoothie; in a glass as small as the thimbles my grandma used when sewing grandpa's overalls. Then came the "main course", with per person: 1 half slice of brioche, which was unrecognizable as brioche, but so dry that you could use it as a dish sponge 1 slice of sourdough bread that was even drier than the brioche 1 previously mentioned greasy croissant 1 slice of cheese 1 half-filled egg Some small bowls of jam and a guacamole Then came a frittata omelet on a metal platter in unequal parts. This one was pretty okay. For €40, not even a juice or coffee was included. All in all, it was very meager for the money.

We really love coming here. For breakfast, lunch, and bread. Nice atmosphere, organic. As of this week, the harvest menu is back too. Mega delicious! Tip: order bread from the field kitchen and mention that you are dining, then it will be placed in the restaurant.

We had a lovely lunch while the cold wind blew outside. In summer, it's a great place to eat outside.

A member of the wait staff literally stood 1 centimeter in front of my face when I wanted to ask something and she placed something on the bar right in front of me — and just stood there. Unfriendly and downright rude; I was shocked and stood there looking at it. I have nothing to do with this woman (girl) otherwise; I just wanted to ask where the toilet was (she didn't know yet and stood right in front of me when I asked if I could ask her something.) Yes, saying it must be busy at the end of the day is not a good excuse. I would have fired her on the spot if I had spotted this behavior; it really is unacceptable.

We weren't allowed to use laptops. I get that you want to encourage socializing, but forbidding it honestly goes too far. Went to another restaurant where you are allowed to just do your own thing, bye!

Lovely place to eat or drink during a walk

Croissants a ten - bread a seven - cheese sticks a barely passing six. Really a fine bakery, but the service... Today, for example: 14 people in line at the checkout, 3 staff members in the shop, only 1 of whom is helping customers. This is the place for people who want to put their mindfulness course into practice. Don't expect things to move quickly when the shop is empty. This company would be better off changing its name to Bakery Snail's Pace.

The food was delicious and the place itself is very nice, which initially gave a good impression. Unfortunately, the service didn't match the restaurant's ambiance. We had a reservation for breakfast. The staff asked the people behind us if they had a reservation without even acknowledging us, which seemed rather rude. Once we were seated, the service was also poor. The waiter seemed to decide when we were finished ordering instead of asking if we wanted anything else. This made it feel rushed and unattentive. With better service, this place could easily match the quality of the food and the beautiful atmosphere.

Nice place for coffee and tea. They also have some cakes and other small snacks. Next door is a little bakery which also sells other organic items like wine, mustard, pasta and such. I imagine in summer it’s even better when you can sit outside on the terrace. The area around it is also really nice for a walk.

Wonderful place, both summer and winter. I love coming here! The only thing I find is that the acoustics aren't great and it can feel very noisy.

Next to the bakery is a restaurant and a lovely terrace in the summer. The bakery has the right flour for making delicious breads and other treats, and the restaurant serves delicious pastries and a good lunch. Restrooms are in a separate area next to the restaurant.

Delicious food, friendly staff. It was very busy but cozy. We did have to wait a while for a table, which we could have done in the charming farm shop. Accessibility is limited due to stairs, and you have to walk around the outside to the toilet; there's no accessible one.

If you love organic food, this is the place to be. They have the most delicious bread, fantastic pastries, and delicious soups and salads. A beautiful location.

A great place to rest up during a hike. You can have coffee and cake and lunch there, but we arrived early for a Veldkeuken breakfast. It was delicious and plentiful, but quite expensive for what you get. We paid 17 euros per person for breakfast (excluding drinks). That's quite high, even by Utrecht standards. Everything was delicious. The granola in the yogurt wasn't great because there was so little. The young man who served us was very friendly and helpful.

We wanted to sit outside, where there was also room. And we wanted something to eat. You have to order outside, so we waited in line for over fifteen minutes. Then it turned out you can't order food outside... I didn't see that anywhere. It was full inside, so we left. The stars for the food are based on previous experiences!

After our walk, we grabbed a soup outside, which was delicious. I suggest putting an (insulating) jacket on the soup kettle, as its heating capacity is apparently too low to prevent cold soup.

We'd already ordered three beetroot gazpachos for €15, well, what you got for that price? I was hungry again right afterward. It came with one piece of bread, but when we asked for a second, we had to pay for that too—lousy little things! I tried it once, but never again. The service wasn't exactly great either; when she didn't get a tip, she wasn't very friendly anymore, and when my table companion asked for a second piece of bread, she couldn't even offer a "goodbye" or "have a nice day."

We stopped by for drinks yesterday. The terrace is lovely, right on the water. The staff is friendly and the prices are great. We had to wait a bit longer than usual, but then an employee came and apologized for the long wait. Due to the inconvenience, the drinks were free! We thought that was a very nice gesture, and it was well received. It's a great place, definitely recommended!

It was incredibly busy when we were there, which is something to keep in mind if you're in a hurry, as food will take a little longer, but it's more than worth it! Prices are a bit high, but you can definitely taste the difference in quality. I would definitely come back!

Very expensive, 10.40 euros for 2 soft drinks on the self-service terrace

The restaurant is located in a historic building on the Rijnsweerd estate. It's situated in a beautiful setting along the Kromme Rijn River. Canoeing is also available. Beautiful walks are available in the wooded area. The terrace at De Veldkeuken is nestled under the trees.

We had to wait a bit for a table, which went quite quickly. After that, we were expertly ignored by the waitstaff. They were mostly busy with each other. After fifteen minutes, no one had come to see us. He did serve the table next to us, but he showed us his back to two chattering waitresses at the entrance. We left. What kind of company is there if you don't train your staff better? This isn't the fault of the staff, but of the management.

The setting was quite nice. The food was a huge disappointment. I had the tasting menu, but they'd either forgotten everything about the salad or it had already been eaten. It consisted of two broad beans, one blackberry, and half a lettuce leaf. I'd mentioned that I was pregnant, but it still contained ingredients I wasn't supposed to have, which was a shame. We sat on the lounge sofas, which is a nice spot, but not comfortable. When we asked if it was possible to move to a table if the opportunity arose, the response was that it wasn't possible. Once you're seated, you're seated. It's a beautiful spot in the woods, but I wouldn't go back. The carrot cake, by the way, was a 10/10. And there was one super nice woman serving us. Super cheerful and incredibly hospitable.

I had tea there with a dear friend in the afternoon and enjoyed a delicious cake! It had a cozy atmosphere and great service. Quiet surroundings. We had been to the pick-your-own garden earlier, and it was a lovely afternoon.
