Vegetarisch jubileum menu besteld wat niet restaurant waardig was. 2 bitterballen vooraf met wat rode sla. Hoofdgerecht onduidelijke mix van gesneden groenten met wat saus. 55 minuten moeten wachten op het dessert. €40,- Schande. Hier gaan we nooit meer heen.

Yesterday, we had lunch here with four people and two young children. Upon arrival, they immediately responded and offered us a larger table because of the kids, which was fantastic, of course. This restaurant also knows how to make a delicious burger at a great price. A truly top-notch burger! Drinks and food arrived quickly, but not too quickly. All in all, a relaxed experience with delicious food at a fair price.

Had a great lunch outside on the terrace

Ate here today. I had a Caesar salad, and it was awful. Just a bowl of lettuce, three small pieces of chicken, the anchovy mayonnaise was missing, and tons of croutons. It was embarrassing, and they charged €15.50 for it. My husband had croquettes on bread; the bread was lukewarm, a truly soggy sandwich, not crispy. We'll never eat Bunnik again.

After almost 25 minutes, I finally reached the staff. If it's really busy, it will probably take even longer.

We started with a basket of bread that came with spreads. The butter was delicious, but unfortunately a bit sparse. After that, we were able to choose from the menu. The main course menu is relatively small, with quite specific flavors. The mussels were Zeeland-style. Deliciously presented. The fries came in a metal basket, so you don't have to move them with your hands, like I did 😅 The fish was appreciated. Tender and very soft. Then we had dessert. Special coffee with tasty bites of cookie and brownie, among other things, and lemon curd. Since I didn't know what this was exactly, I asked, and they brought me a sample. The decision was quickly made. It was delicious. Highly recommended! Don't be fooled by the simple appearance. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I found the restrooms to be neat and clean, as far as I could see.

Sat on the terrace. Ordered a cup of fresh mint tea. Toilets were clean. Friendly service.

The establishment is very pretty, clean and well located. The food is very well prepared. Very good value for money. The staff is incredible: being French with a Dutch menu, it's not easy. They translated the entire menu into French for me! I was in Bunnik for 2 days and so I went back the next day.

There was some kind of BBQ on the terrace. This gave off a foul smoke. Too bad when you're eating and drinking.

We were received very warmly. I asked if we could sit inside and have a quiet table so as not to have too many stimuli. This was possible in beautiful surroundings. The rest sat outside. Lunch was excellent. In the middle of Bunnik. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

We have been coming here for about five years and the food is very tasty, but the service... especially from an older man. it started with a bottle of paid water that was placed on our table without asking. I also work in the catering industry and I mention that the water is paid, so that guests are not faced with an unpleasant surprise afterwards. I think many people don't know it, so it would be nice to mention it or just offer it. when we asked if he was taking the bottle again, people rolled their eyes. I find this a strange and annoying reaction. it certainly didn't make our experience any better.

We sat comfortably and had a delicious meal. Service was very friendly, so it was not noticeable that they were super busy. Small side note, the crockery is beautiful, but not pleasant to eat from. Quickly put it on the marketplace and replace it. Frozen croquettes are not my favorite food, unfortunately.

I expected more from the 5 course surprise menu given the price. The wow factor was missing.

Dinner menu with starters where there is a choice for everyone. Not much can go wrong with gratinated goat cheese with syrup unless the filo dough becomes too thick, soggy and therefore undercooked. Or that the prawns are cooked too long and arrive cold in the pasta salad. Just eat carpaccio. Nothing can go wrong with that, right? I hope so for you. The main courses in terms of meat preparations only include tenderloin or a game option. Unfortunately, the fish is overcooked, causing it to fall apart on your plate and therefore taste flat. The redfish risoto is rice cooked into porridge without salt. Mind you, not even cheese was added to help with that. I wonder if the person who prepared this can still look in the mirror professionally. Look, every chef can and may have his own interpretation of risoto, but this was downright scandalous and as a guest I feel very cheated.

I came by for a snack with my friend. Upon arrival we were allowed to choose a table. After some time an employee came to take our drink and before he even arrived the menu was handed to us. This felt rushed. Our food was taken at a quarter past 7. Unfortunately, we waited more than 45 minutes for our food. I already saw that they had asked us out after a large group, which is of course not convenient after my experience. After 40 minutes my friend asked where our food was and the employee said as she walked away that it would probably arrive soon and she waved him away. This is of course not neat and not service. Unfortunately it didn't stop there. After we had eaten out and the employee came to take us out, it seemed as if she did not dare to ask if we had enjoyed it. Even at checkout, the male employee did not ask if everything had been okay. We concluded from this that they were aware that it would take a long time but simply did not want to do it. There were also a lot of staff, at least 5 people, and the place was far from full. A shame because the food tasted great. Overall, we left unsatisfied. For an average price of 28 euros per main course and 7 euros per glass of wine, we expect better service. We would not go back anytime soon and would not recommend it either.

We ate here with about 30 people with a company department and enjoyed the classic buffet! - Contact with reservations, etc. went smoothly. All dietary requirements have been taken into account.

After a misunderstanding with a gift voucher (had called that I had a Gift for You voucher) they said it was okay to take it with us.... When we arrived and had already ordered, they said they did not have the voucher because they no longer did business with that company.... But to accommodate us we got the drinks for free, thank you for that... The lunch was very tasty.. we would love to come back

Delicious coffee, pleasant atmosphere and very friendly service

It seemed like such a lovely ambiance with a lovely terrace overlooking the village square. But the service really leaves a lot to be desired. With 5 people we suddenly got 6 dishes, which went wrong. The hamburger bun was specially requested to be well done without being red. At first bite, it was all red and raw. Sent it back and eventually received it again, but it was still red, what a disgrace. I also ordered my club sandwich without bacon, but it turned out to be fried in the egg. So back to the kitchen and threw off the whole egg and returned it. Not really the service you expect, because it is not cheap either. No apologies received, no compensation in the form of a cup of coffee or other drink. No, you won't see us here anymore!

Lovely terrace! I've had lunch there several times. Nice place for Kromme Rijn bike tour. This time a richly topped club sandwich. Definitely recommended.

Had a drink on a quiet Sunday afternoon: a glass of Verdejo, a glass of Aperol Sprits (unfortunately not a sprits and too sweet) and a glass of tap water for €16.40 is really not normal.

We have mixed feelings when we look back on our visit to 't Wapen van Bunnik. The starters were tasty and it was nice that we were allowed to bring our dogs on the terrace! However, the main course was very disappointing: the fennel was still raw, the salad was no longer good, there was a layer of mayonnaise on the truffle…. For the prices you really expect more freshness and quality! Then the desserts... Coffee complete with homemade delicacies, we have eaten better cake from Albert Heijn... What a shame for such a nice restaurant!

After many years of driving past, now after cycling around on this beautiful late summer Sunday I finally grabbed a terrace. It always looked inviting and indeed we found a lovely spot on the couch and enjoyed a wine tasting and a sausage platter. Friendly service and nice crowd. Be sure to come and have dinner sometime. Today we had a delicious lunch invited by our daughter for Father's Day

Do not eat here, very poorly informed

Nice place and was quite busy. I was there for lunch. All the plates that passed by looked good. I went for the 12 hour with sweet potato soup, carpaccio bread and roasted eggplant bread. It wasn't bad, but I can't really shout about it either. The soup was lukewarm, the carpaccio tasteless (ordered without truffle mayo because I don't like that) and the eggplant spread was so orange and salty that I wondered if it was actually eggplant. No reason for a bad review, but not 5 stars unfortunately.

We enjoyed our dinner here tremendously. The service was very friendly, the beer (Trappist) on tap was excellent and the food really yummy. My favorites were the Runderwang and the Eclair. Thank you for the experience.

We stopped in for a cup of tea with a piece of cake and a glass of wine with a cheese board. The service was friendly, the cake did not seem homemade. Taste categories (spicy, fresh and full) of the various wines offered were indicated in gradations on the menu. The atmosphere was pleasant.

January 2, at the weapon, we reserved the room at the back for 15 people. to have an extensive lunch in honor of our marriage. A very positive experience! The room is cozy and secluded, can be closed if necessary, but can also remain open. Our wishes were listened to from the very first moment and we thought about the possibilities. This way they have made it possible to enjoy a 3-course dinner during lunch. exactly what we were looking for. In addition to the positive experience with the ambiance, food and service, the price was also reasonable compared to other quotes. Definitely recommended.

Mijn eerste keus als ik in Bunnik ben. Goede kaart, vriendelijk personeel, mooie tafels binnen en buiten. Voor een goed gesprek of een gezellige Lunch/Diner. Echt een aanrader!

Gezellig restaurant. Wel wat te chique eten op de kaart naar mijn mening. Mis een simpele burger of iets dergelijks. Verder standaard geen friet en salade bij de ossenhaas terwijl dat het duurste gerecht is.

Tijdens het lopen van het Kromme Rijnpad zijn we hier even gestopt voor koffie en een sanitaire stop. We vielen met ons neus in de boter, want er was net verse apfelstrudel (af)gebakken. Heerlijk! Je zit hier fijn, de zaak is ruim opgezet en personeel is vriendelijk.

Waarde Lezer, Mijn ervaringen met dit restaurant zijn uitmuntend. Ik woon zelf in Utrecht maar toen ik nog een auto had reed ik hier wel eens heen. Nu heb ik al 1 jaar geen auto meer maar kom ik hier nog even vaak. Mensen die van lekker eten houden begrijpen elkaar en wij begrijpen dat de club sandwich (zie foto van de cross-section) die ze hier bij het Wapen van Bunnik serveren toch wel de kroon spant. Ongelooflijkheid samen met passie en warme liefde klaargemaakt. Voor mij is dit zonder overdrijven een speciaal plekje waar ik kan ontsnappen aan de stadse drukte en de meest lekkere dingen direct van de smoker op mn bord krijg. Als iemand vraagt: wat is nou echt een goed restaurant is mijn eerste antwoord: Het Wapen. De mensen die deze toko lager dan een 4.5 geven hebben geen smaakpapillen en zijn zo ver weg van de realiteit dat ze eens moeten kijken of alle draadjes in de bovenkamer wel goed liggen. 5/5, 10/10 would recommend to everyone.
