Lovely restaurant with a fantastic terrace, in an otherwise ‘typical Zeeland’ environment: flat, wide and light. The menu is of top quality. Local, fresh, organic products are processed in uncomplicated dishes. Recommendations: of course the fantastic Oosterschelde lobster and crab menu, but certainly also the grilled razor clams, the delicious bisque and the fresh fries with home-made -nice and sour!- mayonnaise. Anyone who comes here once, will definitely come back.

I have been coming to Bruinisse for work for 40 years, on Easter Sunday I ended up in a lost pearl around Bruinisse, the location of the restaurant is unbelievable, I saw Oosterschelde or Grevelingen lobster on the menu and a few empty tables, so I thought I would join in, unfortunately someone from the service told me that they were completely booked, unfortunately I was still allowed to order 6 flat oysters and a cava, which outlines my surprise at a certain point, afterwards the owner, but outside and placed an extra table and I was still able to enjoy one of the best lobster menus ever, great and thanks again.

The food that comes out of the kitchen here is really of a very high standard. Super friendly service in combination with a special place always makes this a fantastic experience!

We have been coming here every now and then for many years. We have never been disappointed: always delicious food, relaxed atmosphere, great service, wonderful music and almost everything local and organic. This time on 26/9/24 I asked for and received some razor blades for dessert, they were so unearthly delicious!!

I took my wife here in July 2024 as a surprise for our 8th wedding anniversary. By nature, we don't easily order fish in a restaurant, so it's quite exciting for us. But we were so surprised and what a delicious meal we had. We were already assigned a special place because of the occasion. The background music made this even more enjoyable. The service was great; have a chat from time to time and sense when contact can be shorter. We also received wine advice with the dishes, which was also spot on. We enjoyed it immensely and recommend everyone to eat here.

Wait for a sunny and preferably windless afternoon or evening and reserve a table on the terrace of De Vluchthaven for that day. Fantastic experience guaranteed. High quality fish cuisine, but without frills. Casual atmosphere and pleasant service. Don't pay attention to the clock or the money: it costs something, but all things considered, it's worth it.

It is always a great gift to enjoy the relaxed atmosphere at the airport, the fantastic dishes, sometimes very basic and pure and sometimes a taste sensation and to hear the chefs whistling or singing along to the music in the background. The host and hostess make it complete.

This is a place to forget the world for a while. Enjoy everything that swims in Zeeland. The razors are out of category, the hollandaise is a different story. The service is pleasantly relaxed and the wine list has a nice breadth. A place you will never forget.

Fortunately, the menu is small as always, but the cooking is great. Fish at its best. The staff is relaxed and friendly as always. The atmosphere is still informal, the cats and dog Guus hang around and no one says anything about the stray children who of course want to pet the animals. We come there at least once a year and that will definitely happen again next year.

Fantastic spot. We don't come here often, but we have for a long time. The terrace is so idyllic. The map is very small. But the quality of the food is superb. Just like the service.

Dit restaurant is nog steeds een prettige plek, maar ik denk dat ik er, na er twintig jaar lekker gegeten te hebben, nu een punt achter zet. Reden1: er is nauwelijks keuze meer, slechts 3 menu's. Reden 2: voor bijna 100 euro per menu kregen we (naast prima kreeft) een landkrabje met minuscule scharen waar bijna geen vlees uit te schrapen was. Ik voel me ietwat belazerd daardoor. Maar ja, het is gezellig, aardige man die bedient en ze draaien Steely Dan. Maar die krab ...

Het eten was zoals altijd fantastisch. Er was helaas een enorme dissonant nl een gezelschap met 3 zeer jonge kinderen wat absoluut niet geschikt is voor deze setting. Immers je betaalt een flink bedrag voor uitstekend eten maar dan wil je ook wel de bijbehorende ambiance. Ik spreek over binnen het weer was te slecht om buiten te zitten. Jammer dat het management hier niet op toeziet. Wij waren niet de enige gasten die zich hieraan stoorden wel degene die het ook verwoord hebben ter plekke.

We were a little disappointed that no vegetables were served with the main course, lobster/crab. Yes… 1 asparagus. Then leave that out because that was a bit laughable! And a good bowl of lettuce or samphire was more welcome than that whole bowl of fries. We have had better food at the airport. Oh ……. better luck next time! Eating out at the Vluchthaven is another perfect evening out: everything is just right, from the welcome to the farewell it is one big party! Delicious dishes, fresher than fresh (for example, the herbs are cut on site from the own garden) and surprising combinations of shellfish and fish dishes. We had never eaten the main course of red mullet, but this is a very tender fish due to the preparation method of the Vluchthaven. If you are a fish lover, the drive to Bruinisse is definitely worth it.

A culinary festival to look forward to every year!

There is no restaurant we enjoy visiting as much as De Vluchthaven. We are surprised every time by the taste explosions, the amazing dishes and wines. But at least as important is the informal, relaxed service and atmosphere. This time we even walked 45 minutes there and 45 minutes back because we had no other transportation. And we would do that again. Perhaps the nicest restaurant in the Netherlands ;)

What a wonderful and cozy restaurant right on the sea. The atmosphere is nice and relaxed. The service is friendly and warm, as is the decor. The menu is very clear. You come here to eat crab and lobster. Before and after you have two choices. In advance you can choose between a trio of shells or a lobster soup. And afterwards you choose between dessert and cheese. The food is fresh and deliciously prepared, which makes the taste of the products even more beautiful. The wine list is full of beautiful wines to accompany this delicious food. We really enjoyed it here and will definitely come back!

Idyllically situated on its own harbor where the lobsters and shellfish are diluted in their own storage. On a sunny day, the terrace is ideal for enjoying all the delicacies from the Oosterschelde 'al fresco'. On the last day of the season, from the end of March to the end of September, we returned here after an earlier visit in 2019. We enjoyed it so much! As an appetizer, fresh Dutch shrimps, which you can peel yourself, and periwinkles, soaked in a tasty broth. Then escabeche of beautifully thinly sliced ​​mullet, with spicy herbs and berries. Then a selection of crustaceans; Zeeland mussels, razor clams, grilled oysters and large palourdes. Very subtly presented, especially very tasty! The main course was a piece of grilled monkfish on a creamy mashed potato, especially surprising with the ripe plum as a sweet and sour counterpoint! The cooking here is so adventurous and surprising, truly inspiring. There is a small affordable wine list, by the glass and by the bottle. The service was very hospitable, attentive and friendly. Although there were long intervals between the succession of dishes, we understand that the kitchen and service determine their own pace. No fast food here! But the wait was amply rewarded with beautifully prepared, exceptionally tasty dishes. And everything served professionally with a smile, no matter how busy it was. The Vluchtheuvel brasserie is an absolute must for lovers of fresh seafood. We can't wait for the next lobster season to start again. Reservations are recommended.

We discovered this inconspicuous restaurant by chance on the bike tour and were surprised by the very good quality of the food and the friendly service. We'd love to come back.

We were spoiled with a delicious four-course fish menu - surprise menu. Not a single downside. Informal cordial service. In short, a perfect end to the summer and family weekend.

It was a feast!! If you are a fish and shellfish lovers, this place is haven! I opted for the 4 course lunch "Trust the chef" and what can I say. It truly was one of the best meals I ever had. All that is perfected by a super friendly and professional service and a setting directly on the old ferry station with seaview. I was lucky enough to have perfect weather as well, but the interior of the restaurant is really cosy, too. We will be back, that's a promise!

Onze eindevakantiediner genoten op een mooie plek vlak naast de voormalige veerhaven van Zijpe, bij Bruinisse, u weet wel van Anna Jacobapolder-Zijpe. Het was nog warm.genoeg om buiten te genieten. Van het verrasingsmenu van de chef (we hadden uitzicht op de keuken) was een tongstrelende carpaccio van rauwe harder als eerste aan de beurt, gevolgd door het trio van schelpen: italiaanse vongole, afrikaans klaargemaakte mossels en op houtskool geroosterde scheermessen. Het hoofdgerecht sloeg echter alles: een fantastische bouillabaisse, de een na lekkerste die ik ooit gegeten heb (Marseille 1976 blijft #1) met schol en makreel en nog eens wat schelpen, dat is een echte aanrader. Heerlijke rouille. En als amuse mochten we zelf onze garnalen pellen, met vers gemaakte mayonaise. Het was de rit van Walcheren naar Zijpe meer dan waard, zeker met de brutaalhumoristische bediening van Sebas. Slechts 1 minpunt: het zittoilet voor de heren is niet berekend op lange mensen: je zit ingeklemd tussen de achtermuur met de knieën tegen de deur. Denkelijk nog een herinnering aan de tijd dat het veer nog in de vaart was.

Plekken zoals de Vluchthaven geven mij altijd een gevoel van hoop. Goed eten, fijne mensen in de bediening, goeie muziek (disco, blues, Moloko, jazz, ...). Een omgeving als Bruinisse lijkt een onmogelijke om zo een restaurant al zo lang te kunnen runnen, maar de Vluchthaven laat zien dat mensen voor kwaliteit willen omrijden. Wij dus ook :)

Elke keer weer verwend worden door het heerlijke eten, de geweldige bediening en de warme sfeer. Echt genieten!! Voelt als thuis komen. Bedankt Team De Vluchthaven.

We hebben heerlijk gegeten in een ontspannen ambiance. Nu binnen vanwege het minder mooie weer. Hopelijk de volgende keer lekker buiten.

Ontzettend lekker gegeten. Geen à la carte mogelijk, maar keuze uit 3 verschillende 5 gangenlunches. We hebben ons laten verrassen door de chef. En hoe! Heel vriendelijke medewerkers en geweldige ambiance. Al met al een heel mooie belevenis. Wij komen absoluut terug.

Avondje verwennerij van de innerlijke zelf. Zulke verse producten en zo puur bereid niet eerder ervaren. Vanaf nu kan er geen jaar voorbij gaan zonder De Vluchthaven een keer de bezoeken.

We wilden hier al heel lang naar toe, zaterdag 12 augustus was het zover, we gaan eindelijk in het Zeeuwse genieten van spartel verse fruits de mer, uit het zilte nat zo op ons bord. Wat hebben we genoten op het terras met uitzicht op de jachten die door de sluis naar de Grevelingen gaan. We kozen het krab/kreeft menu met de schelpjes als voorgerecht. Als liefhebbers van fruits de mer was dit voor ons het culinaire hoogtepunt van het jaar. De drie bereidingen van scheermessen, mosselen en venusschelpen zijn verrassend van smaak, met elk toch zijn eigen karakter, heerlijk. Dan de krab en kreeft waar de versheid vanaf spat. De bereiding op de grill geeft toch een extra touch aan de smaak van onze laatste Oosterschelde kreeft van dit jaar. Met een fles Verdejo erbij was dit het grote genieten waarvoor dank aan de keuken en de bediening. Zodra volgend jaar het seizoen weer open is komen wij terug. Sander Kortenbout

Hier moet je gewoon geweest zijn. Dit was echt een waar feestje, en ben niet eens een mega vis liefhebber. Verwacht geen chique bedoeling. Dit is gewoon goed eten in een informele sfeer. Heerlijkst bereide vissen die ik ooit heb geproefd. Reserveren en gaan!

Voor de schaal- en schelpdier liefhebber. Hebben een vast menu, heel goed als lunch te doen. Mooie wijnkaart met bio wijnen.

Een uitstekend ervaring. De plaats ? Verloren op het einde van de weg vindt u verborgen achter de bomen een restaurant, ja, ja en atypisch zeker. Binnen zit je op tafel met prachtig zicht naar de haven. De zeer aangename ober komt u apéritif en wijn voorstellen dat je nooit van gehoord hebt. Ongekende bier, nooit gezien cola, lekker witte wijn met een onbeschrijfbaar smaak ! Het menu: schelpdieren natuurlijk. We hebben menu surprise van de chef gekozen. Alles was perfect van À naar Z. Een oase van rust... terugkeer naar de essentie .... de bediening is zeer vriendelijk en stralen diezelfde rust uit ... de kreeftenmenu is heerlijk en vers ... dit was de perfekte afsluiter van onze vakantie in Zeeland !!! Een absolute aanrader !
