Delicious fish. Large pieces of battered fish pieces, mussels without sand. Just as you hope it will be. Enjoyed a meal on the terrace. Fan to keep out flies and provisions against any potential cold.

Greasy food, very mediocre wine. The sandwiches are an unbalanced mix of ingredients that mostly remind you of a pizza. Prices are not moderate. Having a nice beer here on the terrace is probably better than having lunch.

The surroundings are lovely. The service, however, doesn't deserve a single star. We were ignored, and the hard-boiled items weren't cleared even though they took up half the table. The food finally arrived after an hour; we ordered fish and chips for two people and an appetizer. The appetizer was the wrong one, and after eating the ten pieces of fried fish and the two portions of fries, we were out €95 including drinks… You can get the same quality at any stall for under €30. It's a shame because the place makes such a nice impression.

Super attentive and friendly service. Plenty of helpful staff. The server gave great recommendations, and the food was incredibly good. The mussels were super fresh, perfectly seasoned, and served with delicious bread – exactly what we had hoped for. The prices are a bit high, but it's all highly recommended.

The woman who is in charge there insults many customers, while they themselves make mistakes by not bringing anything, bringing it incorrectly, or only doing so more than an hour after ordering a simple sandwich. Many people also left the terrace without ordering after waiting for more than half an hour before they could order a drink. And you shouldn't go there for the price either, because they are quite pricey.

We wanted to have a glass of wine here on our last day of vacation. "What, just something to drink?" came the reply, and it was after 8 p.m. The wine was okay. But the glasses were covered in water splashes inside and out. I was told that's how they always do it here... rinse them like beer glasses... and dry the tops of the glasses with paper towels. My wife's glass even had two bits of chives in it... I've never seen that before... "Style isn't everything."

They just dropped the food on the table and left again without even asking "Is everything to your satisfaction?" or anything like that. (At least the food was good.) (Neighboring restaurants offer better value for money.)

We've been there several times now. The mussels live up to the advertising on the chalkboard – the best around. But the other dishes are also highly recommended. The service is very friendly, unobtrusive, and efficient. If you're in Burgh-Haamstede, it's an absolute must-visit.

Hello everyone, My husband and I have owned a chalet in Burgh Hamsteede for over two years and have been guests here many times. We have always received a very warm welcome, and Elli (who has run the restaurant for 40 years) is always very attentive to her guests. The chef greets you from afar. Currently, she has two new servers who still need some training but are also incredibly friendly and attentive. The food, no matter what we ordered, was always delicious. The presentation and quality are absolutely fine. For example, if you order mussels and sit outside, they bring you a fly swatter. Brilliant! We don't need to discuss prices in the Netherlands. Nothing is cheap here. But when everything else is right, it's worth every penny. We can wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant and wish Elli and her team continued success.

Last week we enjoyed a delicious meal from the updated menu (the salmon and cod) on the terrace. The food was great, and the service was quick and friendly, paying attention to us as guests. Highly recommended!

Atmospheric square, cozy and pleasant restaurant, and the food is tasty for a good price. However, we had to wait an hour for our food even though it really wasn't busy. Carefully asking how much longer it would take elicited the response: 'We're certainly not going to rush!' and when paying the bill: 'Were you in a hurry or something???'. OK, apparently they have all the time in the world in Zeeland 😉, but it could be a bit friendlier, I think.

Ate delicious mussels. My wife had a salad that tasted reasonable. A slice of bread with the salad costs €2.50, a bottle of water €8.25 with the mussels, and a small bowl of hollowed-out fries €6.50. This is how tourists are ripped off; a disgrace!!!!

We have eaten at this restaurant often; it has a beautiful terrace overlooking the church in Burgh, cheerful service, and a contemporary menu. We usually have fish, but this time we also had a meat dish and finished with a lovely coffee and a treat. We will be back!

I ordered two beers that were lukewarm and mentioned it, to which the response was "and now what?". Well, I thought, you are the hostess and perhaps you could offer another beer. This is certainly not a customer-friendly response, but anyway, we asked if we could get a portion of kibbeling and she served it with bread, but I indicated if it could be without bread and received the response: "Then just don't eat the bread." Maybe that makes sense, but I thought, then someone else can make use of the bread. She comes across as so rude that it is not customer-friendly at all. Well, the kibbeling with bread arrived and we both took a bite and left it all behind because the taste was such that it had been fried in very old oil. Fortunately, we didn't eat any more of it because the sourness was already coming up. We paid the bill and we are never coming back here.

So, my wife and I were there for the first time today… the food etc. was okay… my surf and deep fryer was bad… one shrimp and the strong fish had no flavor. My wife said her salmon was good. BUT… the service here is simply awful. I never actually write reviews, and certainly not bad ones… but it was unacceptable all evening… You could tell that many other guests also thought it was bad… being ignored, the appetizers not being cleared, etc… so unfortunately, that was our last time here. The price-performance ratio isn't right either. It's a shame, the restaurant looks great, and the location is fantastic…

I have never had such a bad experience; with such high prices, you should expect quality. I ordered carpaccio, which was dripping in greasy oil and had way too much greasy truffle mayonnaise. My husband had tuna sashimi which wasn't fresh and gratinated oysters; well, none of that tasted like anything. We already mentioned it... but then the main course arrived... I had tournedos with prawns, which was cold and way too raw, and they didn't ask how I wanted them cooked. It was inedible, but then my husband's spareribs were served... boiled and smeared with a thick BBQ sauce to cover it up... you could still clearly see the cooking liquid. At the start, we had ordered a bottle of wine for a whopping 50 euros. We immediately indicated that nothing was right, then they slammed the bill on the table, and we had to pay 101 euros... well, that's how you vouch for your own restaurant... Too scandalous for words.

Despite the nice menu, the food was quite a disappointment. The cataplana was bland and lacked flavor. Many mussels were barely open and had many bones. The bread roll is a side dish. It is on the menu, but for the price, it should be included. €30.00 per person. It wasn't worth it; we make it much tastier ourselves. The male staff were not friendly towards the other guests. The small tip we gave was for the foreign guy. He was busy and did his best. Too bad, it could have been much better; invest in internal communication.

Sticky and unclear menu in a soulless setting. Inside, it looks like a company canteen with basic toilet facilities. Not my first time (2 years ago), but in my memory, it was nicer and better back then.

Today I ate sole at The Jolly Flipper, after first inquiring if they actually sold sole. Reggie confirmed this to me. He really went out of his way; he came to the table to show us the soles he had ordered SPECIALLY. Afterwards, he came back to ask how we wanted our sole prepared, which I find very thoughtful of him. When the soles were fried, he came to fillet them at the table as agreed, and while that hardly ever happens anymore, he did it for us. THANK YOU for this, Reggie. An extra service that is rarely seen these days. While we were eating the soles, he also came to ask if everything had gone to our liking. Top-notch, that is how it should be. I would highly recommend you go and eat at The Jolly Flipper; a family restaurant where fish specialties are a specialty, prepared with respect.

We sat on the terrace during King's Day. The waiter who came to take our drink order was very impatient and unfriendly. Our cocktails were shaken at the table, which was promising. However, a Pornstar Martini is supposed to contain passion fruit. They didn't even have any, and that for €11 (even €13 when settling the bill). The children had some soft drinks; unfortunately, the Sprite was past its expiration date. We had mentioned this, and we were told it would be properly removed from the bill. However, when settling the bill, it was still on the account. The rest of the staff was also extremely grumpy, with the exception of one young boy. Several people noticed this. The ordered snacks, bread, nachos, and bar snacks were very tasty, by the way. The location was perfect, though, lovely in the sunshine.

To start with, if I could, I would give 0 stars. What kind of place is this? We got our food, everything was fine until I took a bite and it was ice cold, so I asked if they could recook it and it came back cold again. Ridiculous, and there are people walking around in dirty pants and t-shirts, that’s just not right, and the price is exorbitant. What a ridiculous place this was.

Fish and More in Burgh-Haamstede is a great spot for fresh fish lovers. The kibbeling (fried fish) is crispy and well-seasoned, the fries are golden brown, and the service is always friendly. Everything is freshly prepared, and you can taste the difference right away. Definitely recommended if you're in the area!

What a horrible experience this was: a celebratory dinner and terrible food. They also incredibly violated my privacy, and my wife's overpriced fish was served raw. It was also incredibly cold in the restaurant, and I asked if anything could be done about it, and the answer was no. I didn't eat it, and when I wanted to pay and said I was very angry and disappointed, the owner told me I have ADHD. I feel so sorry for her, but I wonder what you do in such an expensive restaurant. No discount at all, just misunderstanding. Stay far away from this awful restaurant.

Enjoy sitting outside on the heated patio! Bread platter with warm bread is delicious. The mussel is excellent.

The waiters are just annoyed, they shout at you, and orders are slammed down on the table without a word. We've never experienced anything like this before, not just us, but other guests as well. We won't be seeing you here again.

The food was good, but quite expensive. 29 euros for a bowl of mussels. The staff was rude. They didn't laugh at a single joke. They reprimanded us very rudely when someone tried to light a cigarette. A small shell on the sideboard said it wasn't allowed there. It was possible to do that elsewhere on the terrace, but no one pointed it out. I won't be back anytime soon.

The cocktail I hadn't received was still listed on the bill, which I had to notice myself. - A layer of raw, cold mussel vegetables at the top of the mussel pot isn't what I expect with mussels. The fries could have been a little less greasy. So, unfortunately, not really recommended.

Upon arrival, the assigned table wasn't completely clean, so I asked for a cloth myself. I immediately used it to wipe the sauce off the chair. Speaking of sauce, it was used in abundance on the tiny bowl of salad we received with our meal, rendering it immediately inedible. The main course was a talbot. It was breaded, as it turned out, and fried at too low a temperature, giving the impression of lukewarm fish and chips. The waitress had to spend a lot of her communication directing the staff. No one seemed particularly motivated. We were surprised that everything arrived within a reasonable time. The decor and lighting are a bit chilly, and the tables and chairs are hard. Not worth a single star. A very unfriendly blonde woman came to take our order. After our drinks were served, we asked for a lactose-free dish for my mother. The vegan dishes listed feta cheese, which was strange because it's not vegan. She went to check and confirmed that the vegan dish did indeed contain lactose. She reacted sharply, saying we were being unfriendly and difficult, and that we should go somewhere else. I had an uneasy feeling about this woman from the start. We paid, and because of the loud altercation, other guests asked what happened. They had already received their grilled chicken and didn't like it. Fortunately, we missed out on the overpriced meal. The reviews speak for themselves. Never before have we experienced such service; we will never go there again. At Hotel Bom, we received a friendly welcome, were helped with a lactose-free dish, and had a delicious meal. Highly recommended.

The food was good, although there was a bit too much sauce on the salad. The beginning was less pleasant: less than two minutes after we were given a dirty menu, the waiter asked if we knew what we wanted to eat. When we indicated that we would like to take a look, we were completely ignored for more than 20 minutes. No eye contact, while there were only five tables occupied. The waiter also did not seem fresh and the table was sticky. Too bad — with a few small adjustments the experience could have been so much better. Now it all felt a bit dirty.

Well where to start… service rushed, stressed. The service is shouting at colleagues on the terrace. And starts loud discussions with customers who rightly complain that the food does not arrive at the same time and that there are more than 10 minutes between the dishes. The tuna steak had only just touched the pan, it was still refrigerator cold on the inside. The vegetables were swimming in a sea of ​​sauce. No idea what vegetables I had on my plate and how they tasted, the sauce took over the entire taste. After making matters worse, 1.5 hours later I spent 20 minutes on the pot. There are very good snacks here with delicious fries. A large selection of dishes with different types of delicious fish is suitable for a warm meal in the evening.

Not to be done. Well-cooked pasta (€28) in soup, which is supposed to be a sauce. A few small frozen prawns for €24. They call this XXL. Friendly staff. Table is cleaned by a boy wearing sweatpants full of dirty stains. What a drama. This really isn't possible.

There is currently a construction site in front of the restaurant, so no one can do anything about it. But the way the staff sets up the tables here is questionable. Because of the wobbly boards on the floor under the tables, everything is constantly flying over and the unkempt waiter is constantly trampling around you, so that there is no peace and quiet. When it came to billing, they were too lazy to separate the bill correctly for the two of us, but instead just wanted to divide the total by two. Never again…

Really delicious! Friendly service and the whole thing for decades. I first went there 36 years ago and the fried mussels with cocktail sauce are still to die for. Unfortunately the prices are no longer what they were back then. But what hasn't become more expensive?
