To start, if I could, I'd give it 0 stars. What kind of establishment is this? We received our food, everything was fine until I took a bite and it was ice cold. So I asked if they could reheat it, and it came back cold. Ridiculous, and people walking around with dirty pants and t-shirts. And the price is ridiculous. What a ridiculous establishment this was.

The food, service, and atmosphere are all top-notch. The blonde lady is also very nice. Plus points to you!

Fish and More in Burgh-Haamstede is a great spot for fresh fish lovers. The kibbeling (fried fish) is crispy and well-seasoned, the fries are golden brown, and the service is always friendly. Everything is freshly prepared, and you can taste the difference right away. Definitely recommended if you're in the area!

They said the "fried" haddock was cod. No way. Frozen haddock that was still frozen even after frying. Absolutely disgusting and a waste of money. Not something I'll be ordering again...

What a horrible experience this was: a celebratory dinner and terrible food. They also incredibly violated my privacy, and my wife's overpriced fish was served raw. It was also incredibly cold in the restaurant, and I asked if anything could be done about it, and the answer was no. I didn't eat it, and when I wanted to pay and said I was very angry and disappointed, the owner told me I have ADHD. I feel so sorry for her, but I wonder what you do in such an expensive restaurant. No discount at all, just misunderstanding. Stay far away from this awful restaurant.

Enjoy sitting outside on the heated patio! Bread platter with warm bread is delicious. The mussel is excellent.

Overpriced and unfriendly service.

The waiters are just annoyed, they shout at you, and orders are slammed down on the table without a word. We've never experienced anything like this before, not just us, but other guests as well. We won't be seeing you here again.

The service was apathetic. The oysters had no flavor.

The food was good, but quite expensive. 29 euros for a bowl of mussels. The staff was rude. They didn't laugh at a single joke. They reprimanded us very rudely when someone tried to light a cigarette. A small shell on the sideboard said it wasn't allowed there. It was possible to do that elsewhere on the terrace, but no one pointed it out. I won't be back anytime soon.

After fifteen minutes, I had to ask about the status of my cocktail myself and was told that my son still hadn't returned and that I should order a different drink. The cocktail I hadn't received was still listed on the bill, which I had to notice myself. - A layer of raw, cold mussel vegetables at the top of the mussel pot isn't what I expect with mussels. The fries could have been a little less greasy. So, unfortunately, not really recommended.

A bag of salad with mayonnaise and remoulade. Oil and vinegar were unknown. It tasted disgusting for a lot of money! The staff were also very unfriendly. Never again!

Upon arrival, the assigned table wasn't completely clean, so I asked for a cloth myself. I immediately used it to wipe the sauce off the chair. Speaking of sauce, it was used in abundance on the tiny bowl of salad we received with our meal, rendering it immediately inedible. The main course was a talbot. It was breaded, as it turned out, and fried at too low a temperature, giving the impression of lukewarm fish and chips. The waitress had to spend a lot of her communication directing the staff. No one seemed particularly motivated. We were surprised that everything arrived within a reasonable time. The decor and lighting are a bit chilly, and the tables and chairs are hard. It seems to be geared towards getting customers out as quickly as possible. Congratulations, you did it. Snack bar atmosphere. We won't be back.

Perhaps one of the worst take-aways I have ever eaten in my life. First of all this is not a restaurant. This is a takeaway fish and chips place. Over priced and bad service in addition to badly cooked food with low quality wine . Will never recommend. Stay away from this place.

Not worth a single star. A very unfriendly blonde woman came to take our order. After our drinks were served, we asked for a lactose-free dish for my mother. The vegan dishes listed feta cheese, which was strange because it's not vegan. She went to check and confirmed that the vegan dish did indeed contain lactose. My mother wanted to order cod in tomato sauce without chorizo, which wasn't possible. Then she rudely said, "I'll have a combination of... " When we asked again, "Is that fried in butter?" My mother gets very ill from lactose, so we wanted to be sure there was no lactose in her food. She snapped and was very unfriendly, to which my sister replied, "You could be a bit friendlier." She reacted sharply, saying we were being unfriendly and difficult, and that we should go somewhere else. I had an uneasy feeling about this woman from the start. We paid, and because of the loud altercation, other guests asked what happened. They had already received their grilled chicken and didn't like it. Fortunately, we missed out on the overpriced meal. The reviews speak for themselves. Never before have we experienced such service; we will never go there again. At Hotel Bom, we received a friendly welcome, were helped with a lactose-free dish, and had a delicious meal. Highly recommended.

I preferred the ambiance before the renovation, as I really liked the open fish counter. You could see the fish directly and put together your own menu. Unfortunately, that's no longer the case.

Bad service and you don't serve bitterballen like this!

The food was good, although there was a bit too much sauce on the salad. The beginning was less pleasant: less than two minutes after we were given a dirty menu, the waiter asked if we knew what we wanted to eat. When we indicated that we would like to take a look, we were completely ignored for more than 20 minutes. No eye contact, while there were only five tables occupied. The waiter also did not seem fresh and the table was sticky. Too bad — with a few small adjustments the experience could have been so much better. Now it all felt a bit dirty.

Another beautiful day we went for a drive and ended up here again. Been there several times in the past. What a difference a few years can make. First of all the service was not at its best. Long waiting time for the order and after asking for the menu we had to wait another 15 minutes before they even brought the menu... eventually ordered the fish platter for 3 people... it was tasty but a bit meager. I understand that the prices have gone up in terms of purchase but still..... quite a shame. I liked coming here...

I have rarely been greeted so unfriendly. We sit down on the chairs and then the waitress barks at us so loudly that she can't get through. My wife had my daughter on her lap, but we didn't position the tables that way. Still no hello or anything after that, but a Dutch lady who sat down two tables away was immediately greeted with a friendly hello and the blanket (which was on my wife's chair) was ripped out and put behind the lady's back. Then we served a couple (Dutch) who came in after us. Still no hello or even a greeting. I have actually been going to this place since 1985 and have always liked it, but this unfriendliness is unacceptable. Thank you for nothing.

Well where to start… service rushed, stressed. The service is shouting at colleagues on the terrace. And starts loud discussions with customers who rightly complain that the food does not arrive at the same time and that there are more than 10 minutes between the dishes. Walks inside cursing and ranting at colleagues in such a tone that everyone outside on the terrace can hear it. Then the food, at first glance it looks good. Large portions and nice presentation. There was also a lot of time between the dishes before everyone was served. But given the discussion with other customers and the fact that we were hungry, we accepted it. The tuna steak had only just touched the pan, it was still refrigerator cold on the inside. The vegetables were swimming in a sea of ​​sauce. No idea what vegetables I had on my plate and how they tasted, the sauce took over the entire taste. After making matters worse, 1.5 hours later I spent 20 minutes on the pot. I have worked in the catering industry for years, have experienced and seen a lot. But rarely something like this. Not to be repeated

There are very good snacks here with delicious fries. A large selection of dishes with different types of delicious fish is suitable for a warm meal in the evening.

Not to be done. Well-cooked pasta (€28) in soup, which is supposed to be a sauce. A few small frozen prawns for €24. They call this XXL. Friendly staff. Table is cleaned by a boy wearing sweatpants full of dirty stains. What a drama. This really isn't possible.

There is currently a construction site in front of the restaurant, so no one can do anything about it. But the way the staff sets up the tables here is questionable. Because of the wobbly boards on the floor under the tables, everything is constantly flying over and the unkempt waiter is constantly trampling around you, so that there is no peace and quiet. When it came to billing, they were too lazy to separate the bill correctly for the two of us, but instead just wanted to divide the total by two. Never again…

Really delicious! Friendly service and the whole thing for decades. I first went there 36 years ago and the fried mussels with cocktail sauce are still to die for. Unfortunately the prices are no longer what they were back then. But what hasn't become more expensive?

The food is ok, but nothing more. The prices are high for that. Very little of it is fresh here. You don't even bother to make it seem like you are. The frozen packaging is obviously in the counter (unfortunately I only saw it when I went to the toilet). However, the service is the last thing. He seemed very unmotivated, was wearing sweatpants, socks and adilettes and rather belongs in a second-rate chip shop. Only the furnishings are very appealing.

Absolute gem within walking distance of the beach

Likely the best viswinkel/restaurant combo we've been to in the Netherlands (and we must have visited 30+ different ones during our travels). The fish is of good quality and variety -- where most of such places offer a limited choice, here its quite varied. We were served ~10 minutes after placing the order (off-season, October). A 1hr max duration parking in front of the place.

Back for the second time, still just as delicious! Had a nice meal with the whole family. Definitely recommended ❤️

Not recommended this store! Kibbeling ordered three times which were fried completely dead and were therefore dusty. Waiter in sweatpants and dirty flip-flops. But the prices are from upscale gastronomy. NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!

I'm very sorry but this really wasn't good fish. Perhaps our eastern neighbors will like it. I think the plank of fish we had was fried twice. Kibbeling were very thin slices of fish and very dry, shrimp also as dry as can be. The sticks, of which we still don't know what they were, were also as dry as anything. The only thing that we felt was freshly baked was the frozen calamari rings. Staff walk around in slippers and dirty sweatpants. Not really a fresh look. Not for us anymore.

Every time we are on holiday we come to the restaurant with our Mini Bulli and are greeted very friendly and the cocktails 🍸 and the pasta with mussels are highly recommended. We'd love to come back next year

Friendly at first, but you had to walk to the counter yourself to pay because the waiter was watching Reels on his cell phone and was no longer doing his job. The restaurant was nicely decorated, but unfortunately very dirty. The leftover food from the previous guests was still lying around on the tables and chairs. We weren't served plates either. The food itself was good, at least the salad and the fish. The fries had already been in the deep fryer for several courses and were therefore very hard and greasy. In any case, not a good price-performance ratio if you look at it in general. Although it has potential to be good...

Appearances are deceptive, as already mentioned in a previous review. There were leftovers from the previous guests on the table, which the grubbily dressed waiter overlooked. The bottle of wine (30 euros) and the glasses were placed on the table in the cooler (more water than ice) as we passed. Open it, pour it, try it. Nothing. The dry salmon (28 euros) was floating in a pool of fat, potato salad and coleslaw from the bucket. Only the prices had star level.

Been here many times in the past and it was always great. Ordered a plank of fish today. We had asked about the price in advance and it was about €25. We had 1 small portion of fries and 2 glasses of wine and had to pay €44. If it was still tasty, but unfortunately that was also disappointing. The squid, among other things, came straight from the freezer and didn't taste like anything. Price-quality ratio is downright bad. The lady serving could also take a customer-friendly course... so we won't be going here again!

Had dinner here today with my dog. Really delicious food, we treated ourselves to the Cath of the day for two and it tasted great. <3 The service was friendly and also openly explained to us what some of the “extra” cutlery was for. The shop is really nicely decorated. For me there was really nothing to complain about, of course it's not for those on a budget, but that was completely fine for the food served. :)

We come for a drink and we ask if was possible smoke here and the waiter says yes. After get the drinks she start be rude and say that is not possible smoke. I don’t recommend to nobody. They should be more nice !

Downright bad service, unfriendly staff. Drinks are brought in twice and we have to wait a long time for the second half of our drinks. Staff wear slippers and sweatpants. Mega expensive for what you get. No atmosphere at all, we won't be going there again. Also explains why it is not busy in the middle of summer.

The only positive thing was the salmon, the mackerel was tasteless, kibbeling and fries were fried too hard: rock hard and little taste left.. cola was not cold and served in WARM glasses.. the indifferent waitress did not want to make orange juice because of flies in the kitchen?? The summer hit cocktail with slush were regular ice blocks because the machine was broken, but we did charge 3 euros extra per glass.. I don't recommend this place, what a disappointment.. fork out 87 euros and you're still hungry..

The food was good overall. The service, especially dealing with Germans, was unfortunately very poor. A reason not to come back again despite the good food. The service tries to speak German rather than English and then says “tough luck, I misunderstood that!” No matter how good the food is, if it’s wrong it won’t satisfy you.

After a bike tour Schouwen-Duivenland, we settled here to eat delicious fish. The first impression was fine until the service came to the table. In his bath slippers in short swimming trunks... and then you charge 45 euros for a sole... so just have a drink and move on quickly. You don't get value for money with this kind of arrogance.

The restaurant looks nice from the outside, which is why we made a reservation here. Even though we arrived a little early, we were quickly assigned a table. Unfortunately, the service stopped after that. We had to wait a very long time for our order (both drinks and food) to be taken. Someone at the next table even got up and left because there was no service. What we personally didn't like was that when we asked, we were told that smoking was prohibited outside. However, people were smoking happily two tables away and the waiter didn't say anything about it. Either there is a smoking ban or there is none, the same rule must apply to everyone. The meal took over 50 minutes, which annoyed us a bit. No service staff came to us and pointed out the long waiting time. However, the food was really tasty and fresh, which made it a bit better. Unfortunately, we weren't asked once how the food was, whether everything was OK or whether we would like something more to drink. For me, that's just part of good service. In our opinion, the appearance of the service staff, especially the clothing they chose (sweatpants and flip-flops), did not fit the restaurant and ambience. All in all, it was okay because of the delicious food, but we won't come back and can't really recommend it.

We got kibbeling and mussels here. But it took 40 minutes for the mussels. and after 5 minutes of asking for the rest of the food, it was suddenly ready Kibbeling was nothing better than that of a snack bar. Mussels weren't bad👍

Tonight we settled down for a glass of wine after an evening bike ride. Really never experienced anything like this before. Terrace was cleared while we were there. Our neighbors were asked if they wanted to use the toilet because she was going to clean... not cozy and warm. Pity.
