Highly recommended! We had a superbly prepared breaded cod fillet and a grilled fish platter (tuna, butterfish, swordfish), both cooked to perfection. Initially, the wrong dish was delivered by mistake – our complaint was handled very discreetly and professionally. The only drawback: the menu is only available in Dutch. Consequently, foreign guests sit at the table with their smartphones out, googling the translation, when they start ordering. A multilingual menu would be much appreciated!

We ate there three weeks ago. I had salmon with a delicious sauce, vegetables, and fried potatoes. The salmon was perfectly cooked and of good quality. They even brought me more vegetables, free of charge, without asking. The service was very attentive and knew how to explain the dishes. For dessert, I had an espresso with vanilla ice cream. A fitting end to a very good meal 😋

My husband and I visited the restaurant for dinner yesterday. Luckily, we had a table reservation, as the restaurant was busy. The service was very friendly, and we ordered two boiled mussels with side dishes and a crab soup as an appetizer. The crab soup was excellent, and the mussels and side dishes were incredibly delicious. I would have liked to try dessert, which also sounded very creative and delicious, but we were simply full. The price for the mussels, at €28, is perfectly reasonable, and the crab soup, at €12, is easily shared between two people, as it is served in a tureen. It was a wonderful evening. Many thanks to the restaurant.

We had a delicious meal... oysters, crab soup, and sole... the sole might not be the cheapest on the menu, but you do get about 500 grams. We thought it was excellent value for money. All the tables were full, which really put the staff on edge.

We really enjoyed our dinner at Het Vissershuis. The food was tasty and fresh, which is what you want when it comes to fish. Our server was also so polite, attentive and even though it was very busy, she was able to have short conversations with us making us feel slightly more as a valued guest. We would have dinner here again.

Very cosy restaurant with great fish dishes. We were seated on the cozy terrace outside on a summer evening in August and enjoyed their great food. We had the mussels, mixed grill and, sole and halibut. All great dishes. The sole (3) pieces were rather large. Water is a bit expensive..

The food was okay, but the value for money isn't right here at all. The trick with reordering side dishes is really just a way to get more money out of the customers. It's a very noisy restaurant. The seating is very close together. Since there's little competition in this area, it's quite busy, and table reservations are required. Unfortunately, one more place to go.

We've eaten here several times. This time, however, we were rather disappointed. The restaurant is so packed with tables that it's unbearably loud. I had to constantly call for service, even though there were plenty of employees. For €50 per person, I expect higher quality food. But it really wasn't worth the price. Also, the warning that the side dishes are small and you have to reorder. Reordering takes forever, and when I get 2 tablespoons of vegetables and a side salad without a decent dressing for two people, I see more of a point in this as a way to charge a lot of money for as little as possible. I know that the quality of restaurants in the Netherlands is generally not that high and you shouldn't expect too much, but please pay attention to the prices; you're now the leaders in this field! It's a shame, another place to visit.

The food was very good. The ambiance was nice, but it was very loud, which may have been due to the fact that the restaurant was almost full (which again speaks for its quality). We sat outside on the covered terrace, where it was a bit more pleasant.

Excellent cooked mussels with good wine recommendations. The stir-fried mussels were cold, but were quickly resolved. The young waitress wasn't in the mood for them, but thankfully everyone else was.

We received friendly service over the phone and reserved the last spot inside. Upon arrival, the service was noticeably worse than on the phone. We weren't greeted; people without reservations were placed inside. After waiting five minutes for someone to come to us, we were asked if we wanted to sit outside because there wasn't a table available inside. We politely declined and went to eat at the neighboring restaurant, where, despite it being busy there as well, we were immediately greeted and helped very kindly. The food we saw coming by looked very delicious, though.

There were three of us, including a 5-year-old child, who arrived spontaneously without a reservation. Despite being at capacity, we received an incredibly friendly welcome on the phone and an equally warm welcome once we arrived. The team did everything possible to ensure we got a table – even though we hadn't booked in. The service was attentive, warm, and absolutely child-friendly. The food was excellent and delicious. Gewoonweg fantastisch. Eten is echt super, hier kan men nog echt koken. Vis was super bereid. Het biefstukje was zelfs well done heerlijk. Zeer uitgebreide wijnkaart. Mainly delicious products from the sea!

Van het rijtje restaurants in Westenschouwen vonden wij deze de beste. Heerlijke verse vis, gewoon lekker op zn hollands gebakken in de pan. Mosselen in juli lekker groot en mals. Voorgerechten waren ook vers en smaakvol. Aanrader voor de visliefhebber.

Very friendly welcome and service. The wok-fried mussels were tasty but average size. The cooked mussels were truly tiny "super" mussels, while for €28 you'd expect at least jumbo mussels. This is a 7x profit margin!

Three years ago, I had dinner with my family at "Het Vissershuis" for my 50th birthday. Today, because of those fond memories, we wanted to have dinner there again. We were both looking forward to fresh oysters and a multi-course meal. When we arrived at 5:25 p.m., we were served the mineral water we ordered, and my brother-in-law asked for a German-language menu, as my mother was having a bit of trouble. The man then explained, very rudely and rudely, in Dutch-German, that Germans use Google Translate and he'd never finish if he had to explain it to everyone. "Is everything okay?" I asked. "Hmm," I said sarcastically, didn't look at him, and said everything was fine and we were comfortable... Immediately afterward, I asked a waitress if the gentleman was her boss and if the restaurant was fully booked today? Yes. He then came back to our table himself, and I explained to him that I was very annoyed by his manner and his comments and would prefer to leave, and that he could certainly give our (pre-reserved!) table to other guests. I also wanted to know if, in this case, we would only have to pay for the mineral water or also for our reservation...no, just the water, he replied. Due to my excitement, my English completely failed him, and he suggested we could speak German if we wanted?! I then explained my annoyance to him again and also mentioned that if this unfriendly response had come from one of his waitresses, that employee probably wouldn't be working for him much longer. I further told him that a FRIENDLY QUESTION also deserves a FRIENDLY ANSWER. We were also here again today based on a recommendation and wanted to eat well for a lot of money. I clarify such things on the spot, I said, before I, like others later, "just" write a bad review. The proprietor then apologized for the "misunderstanding." I said his apology was appreciated. I asked my family if they wanted to stay and eat there - yes, they did. However, we each only had one main course instead of the planned menus. At first, it was difficult for us to regain a positive mood and maintain a good conversation at the table. Before paying (€138), the proprietor mentioned that he wouldn't charge us for a bottle of mineral water. (I later learned that this was his way of settling a faux pas.) We left a €10 tip and left after about an hour and a half. On the way out, I shook hands with the proprietor. I'm not one to leave in a huff. We then had dessert at the Yasine ice cream parlor in Haamstede's pedestrian zone. Conclusion and tip for all German-speaking guests: Bring your mobile phone with Google Translate. And be prepared to feel less than welcome. Despite the excellent food, I won't be visiting this restaurant again during my next vacation. For all those who are disappointed, I would like to recommend the "Seafarm" restaurant on the Oosterschelde. The food is first-class, the service staff is multilingual (including the menu), and the trip is worth it!

Het is heerlijk zitten buiten en fijne sfeer. Eten verzorgd en lekker. Gezellig alles aan gekleed met planten etc. Personeel erg netjes en attent.

Pleasantly surprised by this charming village restaurant. We started with the Zeeland creuse, beautifully presented and delicious. Then we had a fish trio (swordfish, plaice, and cod). And the cod in white wine sauce with shrimp, fried potatoes, and hot and cold vegetables. We ate here three times during our stay, and we also had Provençal-style prawns and mussels. Excellent service from Max and his colleagues.

When you take a trip to Zeeland, You Have to go to this Amazing Restaurant! To sit outside requires 'First one get lucky'. Beautiful place, Fresh well cooked Food. Of course a lot of Fish, and Seafood. Great Service, Everything was to perfection! Will Definitely come back!

Goede bediening, lekkere wijn en overheerlijke gerechten. Onze tafelgenoten hadden ons uitgenodigd, omdat ze altijd zo tevreden waren én terecht, hier kun je je gasten met een gerust hart toevertrouwen aan de staf. Heerlijke avond gehad!

Fantastic food and friendly service – highly recommended! We visited this restaurant based on the many positive reviews – and we were not disappointed! We were four adults and two children, and despite the full house, we were lucky enough to get a table without a reservation. The service was consistently friendly, attentive, and especially warm to our children, which made us very happy. The selection of fish specialties was explained to us competently and patiently, so we felt well-advised. From the first bite to the last, every dish was a delight – from the appetizer to the main courses to the dessert, everything was excellently prepared and delicious. A real highlight that we would happily recommend – we will definitely be back!

Afgelopen donderdag samen met mijn moeder weer eens bij Het Vissershuis gaan eten. Het was weer zoals vanouds genieten! Wij kozen beide voor een mossel gerecht, dit was een prima keuze! De combinatie met de lokale tripel (bier) was erg lekker. Ook het dessert viel bij ons erg in de smaak! De locatie van het restaurant, de kundige keukenbrigade, fijne bediening en natuurlijk de mooie gerechten zorgen er voor dat wij hier graag komen.

We had dinner at the Fisherman's House for the second time and were once again extremely satisfied..... We had a reservation, and I highly recommend it 👍 it's always very busy. Last year, a businessman from Burgh-Haamstede recommended that we could eat good fish and especially mussels here 👌 The service was very good, attentive, and even included a joke. Let me just say Sambuca 😎 We had a trio of fish 🐟 and, of course, mussels in herb wine. Along with a delicious Riesling and Mr. Whisky. We also enjoyed a delicious dessert... We say goodbye to Zeeland and are already looking forward to next year.

I made a reservation here for three people on the evening of my birthday. We got a nice table, and even though the restaurant was very busy, we received good and prompt service. The food was delicious, as were the drinks and dessert. The owners were very friendly and attentive. I would gladly go back anytime!

We were there for the second time and were not disappointed. The food is good, with a wide selection and good quality. The ambiance and service are also very good. Small suggestion for improvement: I would like to add a fish platter for two to the menu, which offers more variety.

If you like fried fish, you're in the right place, but if you expect to eat a nice pan-fried fish, you'll be disappointed. The extra fries they conveniently forgot. This was the fourth time we've eaten here, but for now we'll leave it at that.

Excellent cuisine, the dishes are accompanied by salad, vegetables, potatoes, the fish soup is excellent, and the junior (captain) menu is very good for children. The setting is nice, the servers are PERFECT. Prices are correct. I highly recommend.
