A fantastic seafood restaurant with amazing dishes. The mussels with garlic cream sauce and the turbot are especially delicious. Prices are reasonable, and the service is friendly. Reservations are highly recommended. Update July 2023: The quality remains excellent!

Delicious fish dishes, friendly and attentive service, we've already made another reservation.

The food was mediocre; we expected much better preparation. The fish was partly overcooked and partly mushy. The fried potatoes were only lukewarm, and the crème brûlée, while technically a cream, was more like something you'd find in a cake, with way too much Baileys in it. What was completely unacceptable, however, was that both waiters had handled a dog's paw and then served the food without washing their hands in between. We won't be coming back.

If you love fish, a visit to Het Vissershuis is highly recommended. Good quality, a wide selection, and deliciously prepared.

We had a delicious meal here two days ago. This is a very good fish restaurant. Reservations are recommended. There is a wide variety of choices, and the portions are more than sufficient. I had gratinated mussels as a starter, but that was quite a challenge; truly more than fine. The menu naturally consists mainly of fish dishes, but there are also a few meat dishes on the menu. The service is super friendly; they remain very calm and composed while doing their work despite the crowds. It is a well-oiled machine with years of experience, and you can see that in everything. You can sit inside, in the conservatory, or outside. The service is smooth, and the pace of the courses is excellent. The atmosphere is great; they regularly check if everything is to your liking. If I have to mention a minor downside: we found it quite noisy inside; it echoed considerably, but that was also due to the crowds and the clientele present. But all in all, highly recommended if you are looking for a really good fish restaurant in Zeeland. We will certainly be back more often.

We had a delicious meal here. Super friendly staff. Our dog was very welcome. A thunderstorm was approaching, so everyone was politely ushered inside (to the conservatory) so that we could continue enjoying the tasty food while it was really pouring outside. Top spot!

The reservation didn't go well. The solution, however, was good. The menu is very extensive in terms of fish dishes; it is a fish restaurant for a reason. The dishes were delicious; we enjoyed the main course and dessert. They also recommended a wine for every dish. The staff were all friendly. It is very atmospheric both inside and outside. The menu is difficult to show, as it has a section that is the rotating menu featuring seasonal products. If you happen to be in the area, it is highly recommended to go and eat there.

We stayed at a small hotel nearby for 3 days and had read very good reviews about this restaurant. We made a reservation the day before and were lucky enough to still have a spot. I can only say one thing about this restaurant... amazing, delicious, very friendly, very efficient service, highly recommended, simply superb (sorry, that is more than one thing for sure 🫢). We will DEFINITELY be back here. For starters we had gratinated mussels, for the main course salmon with asparagus and 2 soles, and for dessert crème brûlée and profiteroles with an ice cream stand.

Had a delicious meal. Visited here for the 3rd time today and once again the food was divine and the atmosphere was relaxed. Please note, you really need to reserve well in advance. Calling is faster than email. Regarding the covered and heated terrace, reservations cannot be made for that. You have to show up on time to secure a spot. We were there at 5:00 PM with 6 people and just managed to get a table. The service is very friendly and attentive. There is also a small, nice, quiet area in the back. We sat everywhere now and everything is absolutely perfect! Highly recommended: Griet. Mussels stir-fried with cream.

A first-class fish restaurant. Upscale prices commensurate with the quality. Very popular, reservations recommended (indoor seating). Outdoor terrace and conservatory open without reservation, but also very busy. Without a reservation, expect a wait and rely on luck.

A fantastic discovery! For our first weekend in Zeeland, we thoroughly enjoyed this restaurant, from the food and atmosphere to the service. We don't speak Dutch, but we had no trouble choosing our dishes. Everything was explained to us with great kindness and a smile. The dishes were delicious and generous. We highly recommend it.

Every time we visit Haamstede, this restaurant is our absolute go-to and for good reason. The food is consistently outstanding, full of flavor and clearly made with care. Whether we try something new or stick to our favorites, we’re never disappointed. What really makes the experience special, though, are the staff. The waitresses/waiters are always incredibly kind, attentive and welcoming. They create such a warm and relaxed atmosphere that it truly feels like a place you look forward to returning to again and again. If you’re in Haamstede and looking for a place where both the food and service are exceptional, this restaurant is a must-visit. We’ll definitely keep coming back!

Despite having made a reservation in advance, they wanted to give us (2 people) a seat against the wall, more or less hidden behind a large planter. When we indicated that we did not want to sit there, we were told that nothing else was available, even though there were a few other tables available. We just went to eat somewhere else.

Unfortunately, we hadn't made a reservation, but we were allowed to take a seat in the conservatory. The hostess is incredibly friendly. The white wine, Verdejo - Rueda Flying Fish, was very tasty. We started with Dutch shrimp with a homemade sauce. The entrecote with herb sauce was delicious. The trio of fried fish was very flavorful. The atmosphere was very pleasant. We were allowed to move to a table under the heater when it started to get a bit chilly. Highly recommended for a visit!

After a wonderful day at the North Sea, we stopped at the Het Vissershuis restaurant – and it was absolutely the right decision. The atmosphere is cozy and nautical; you immediately feel welcome. The fish dishes were wonderfully fresh and perfectly prepared. We were particularly impressed by the beautiful presentation and the quality of the ingredients. The service was attentive, warm, and yet pleasantly relaxed. For us, it was a thoroughly enjoyable evening with truly excellent food. Thank you!

The restaurant will be on the doorstep of a residential building. He was really a great heel. He was very nice, my wife had mosselen in a room with kersen and I had perfectly baked cod. The operation was very good and attent, before the prayer, the two dogs were ready. Hartelijk thanks for that. We booked by email and received a polite reply. We went here for dinner on the recommendation of friends. Nothing but praise! What a delicious variety of fish. The service was very friendly and helpful with making choices. The atmosphere was delightful with all sorts of fish-themed references. A lamp covered in mussel shells, for example. We started with gratinated mussels. Beautifully served in cast-iron dishes with a generous portion of mussels. Delicious herbs and cheese. Then we had the "fisherman's cottage trio," with three types of fish: weever fish, halibut, and plaice. Truly delicious. The halibut with shrimp was also perfect. The matching wine and garnish made it complete. The pointed cabbage in a creamy milk sauce was particularly tasty. The time between the two courses was also ideal. It's common practice here to indicate when you want the second course. Where else can you find this? This restaurant is a must-visit when you're in Zeeland. Arno and Marielle have really pulled it off.

This is our absolute favorite restaurant in Burgh-Haamstede. Run by a husband and wife team, it offers outstanding quality for all seafood lovers. They also have one or two meat dishes, but I would always come here for the fish. Everything is freshly cooked, beautifully presented, and you can taste the high quality. There's a lovely, though not overly large, indoor seating area, a conservatory with patio heaters for autumn and spring, and an open terrace. Since there aren't many seats inside, reservations are essential. During peak season, it's virtually impossible to get a table without one. In addition to the piping hot dishes, they also offer specials like mixed grill platters with various types of fish. Our absolute favorite is the dessert. It's beautifully presented and tastes fantastic. A definite recommendation for anyone visiting the island and near this restaurant. The value for money is also excellent.

There's no denying it: this restaurant has thought of every detail. My husband and I were warmly welcomed, and the food is cooked with love, and you can taste it in the dishes.

Cozy location. Good value for money. Very friendly service. Very popular, so reservations are recommended. Side dishes can be ordered free of charge, if I read the menu correctly. This is to avoid wasting food on the way to the restaurant, which is why the portions can look a bit meager when there are several people at a table. However, I find this approach very good and sensible.

Had a wonderful meal at the Vissershuis on Friday evening without a reservation. We waited 15 minutes and were then helped with very friendly service! They have an extensive menu with a variety of fish dishes, but there's something for everyone. Highly recommended! See you next time!

Highly recommended! We had a superbly prepared breaded cod fillet and a grilled fish platter (tuna, butterfish, swordfish), both cooked to perfection. Initially, the wrong dish was delivered by mistake – our complaint was handled very discreetly and professionally. The only drawback: the menu is only available in Dutch. Consequently, foreign guests sit at the table with their smartphones out, googling the translation, when they start ordering. A multilingual menu would be much appreciated!

We ate there three weeks ago. I had salmon with a delicious sauce, vegetables, and fried potatoes. The salmon was perfectly cooked and of good quality. They even brought me more vegetables, free of charge, without asking. The service was very attentive and knew how to explain the dishes. For dessert, I had an espresso with vanilla ice cream. A fitting end to a very good meal 😋
