Nice local restaurant with friendly people and delicious food.

Excellent place for a stop during a bike ride. Unfortunately, the star of the menu, the waffle with warm cherries, has been removed for some unknown reason. Five stars if it's back!

Great restaurant! We were able to sit inside with our dogs and have lunch. The farmer's omelet was delicious, and going without bread wasn't a problem, and it was very filling. The staff is friendly and clean, and the restaurant has a nice atmosphere.

Highly recommended: the fish salad! A hearty fish salad with eel, salmon, and crayfish.

Lunch on the terrace. I wanted to pay inside, but was referred back to the waitress. Instead of politely asking where I'd been seated (no table number), I was given the bill for the wrong table. That can happen, of course, but instead of remaining polite, I was sneered at for staying where I was. Apparently, the staff shortage is so severe that customer service has fallen by the wayside.

The coffee was good, the apple pie was apparently treated with shrinkflation.

This afternoon I ordered a large beer and a small beer (Weizen) with my wife, nice beer, the price 15 euros 40, really ridiculous, you won't see me on a terrace anymore.

Got a cup of coffee here but the saucer under my coffee cup was broken from one side which is kinda disrespectful, I won’t drink coffee here any more 🤷🏻‍♂️

If you like hearing damage, you should definitely sit on their terrace. Loud music through huge speakers less than five meters away – wonderful, especially while eating. With a ringing in my ears I left my plate and left. Oh, and the toilets? As if they haven't been cleaned since last summer. Not recommended, unless you're a fan of noise and filth.

Super friendly and fast staff. The food gave us an 80s/90s vibe. It's fine but just like back home. The schnitzel was simple, probably pre-cooked, and the pepper sauce came from a packet, jar or bag a la Knorr, with a stray peppercorn here and there. The potatoes were overcooked, not crispy, a bit greasy and the ready-made spice mix was of the Aromat quality mixed with some paprika powder. Actually like they used to (fail) at your mother's house. The raw vegetables were delicious but the beans were so overcooked that they could just as well have come from a jar, only the different lengths made us suspect otherwise. The garnish on the beans with the crispy fried onions from a jar is not really inventive, something that grandma throws over it who discovered the ready-made fried onions for the first time. It's cute that the staff explicitly mentions this as a culinary variation, Grandma had to. Our bellies were full, plates and glasses empty, we had a nice meal at grandma's. (Grandma was stingy because we had to pay 70,-)

Ordered chicken satay but still doubting whether it was chicken..? Meat was overcooked on the outside and raw on the inside here and there. The satay sauce was so watery and tasteless that I left it. When the girl at the checkout asked if everything was to my liking I said carefully, or tried because I was constantly interrupted with the comments that I should have indicated it earlier (no one came to ask in the meantime if it tasted good because then I could have said it didn't!), then they could have offered an alternative she said and yes I was really too late to complain after the meal and you have to pay you know...! And that in a tone that people around us could enjoy. No, sorry...not recommended.

I was looking for a restaurant where our dog was also allowed in, this restaurant had no problem with that, good service.

Restaurant is fine, nice large windows so lots of light. . Friendly staff. Coffee tasty, but the brie sandwich for 12 euros was a brown emperor roll with 2 slices of brie and a few cashew nuts. So still hungry after lunch. A bit of a shame. So absolutely not satisfied with the price-quantity ratio.

Delicious meal for 4 people, and extremely friendly service! However, organizationally there is still some room for improvement, including damaged plates, washing-up stains on cutlery, asking from behind the flower box whether it tastes good, not serving (after twice) what people ask for, leaving empty plates for (too) long, serving dinner courses at the same time, etc. But nevertheless leaving the building satisfied 🤣

Despite the rainy weather, what a cozy restaurant! The fish salad was excellent: lots of eel and shrimp, fresh mixed lettuce. A real winner! The Angus burger was also excellent, nice and juicy, with a fair amount of mixed lettuce.

Goed restaurant in het centrum van Borger. We hadden eerder al iets op het terras gedronken en het zag er zo aantrekkelijk uit dat we ook een keer hier gedineerd hebben. Het eten was voortreffelijk.

Gezellig terras in centrum van Borger. Hier lekker in de zon cappuccino met appelgebak gegeten. Vriendelijke en attente bediening. Leuke plek om neer te strijken wanneer je de hunebedden hebt bekeken!

I had eaten mustard soup here, the beer keg had so much mustard in it that it hurt my nose and there were tears in my eyes. Main course chicken fillet with cream cheese and bacon > chicken fillet was undercooked on the inside! Dessert > Drenthe coffee, which was really tasty with real whipped cream. Not really recommended!

After having a great walk in Borger, we came to this restaurant for a nice lunch. After taking a seat at a table and having had eye contact several times with the waitresses who were talking and laughing with each other, without doing anything, I walked over to ask for the menu. They said they would bring it to the table (after I said I didn't have much time). They finished their conversation laughing at first and then the card was placed on the table without any haste. Nothing was said and the waitress walked away without ordering a drink. It wasn't busy. After this inhospitable reception we decided to have a bite to eat elsewhere.

Still a super good restaurant for lunch or delicious coffee!

The vegetable soup was perfect, enough vegetables, soup balls, meat and very tasty. The stew was fantastic in a real pot with a lid and delicious veal well filled. This restaurant is highly recommended. Greetings Han Olde Agterhuis Enschede

We were looking for a place where we could have lunch in Borger and ended up on the terrace of the Weme. Nice in the sun, under a parasol, excellent dishes, tasty mocktails. At the end of the annual excursion of the Groningen Eye Association, we also had dinner here with a group of about 20 people. It was very tasty, more than enough and I did not hear an unpleasant word at either table. Big compliment!

Waited a very long time on the terrace for service. Indicated inside that we would like to be served. Cappuccino is not prepared with oat milk. Someone behind me asked after this. The waiter's response was not waiter worthy. When paying inside, I indicated that there were frothers available for a few tens of euros. This waiter's response was also blunt and direct. The boss chooses whole milk. Period. I won't go here again.

The menus look untidy and torn. After we made a choice we were told that the tournedos had run out. Up at 5:30? Then we had to make another choice from the menu. It would have been better if they had told us that when we received the card. The food was also okay, not great, but not bad either

It's always a shame when the mustard is in a plastic bag, stop catering like that. Also not enough butter for two rolls. Bread is very common, why not a real piece of bread with croquettes? Croquettes were very simple and not top quality. Not a 6 anymore. The healthy sandwich wasn't really great either. Coffee was lukewarm. Such a beautiful terrace with nice service deserves better quality

Not really a welcome upon entry. Menus were not clean. We had to wait a while for the lunch menu. Staff was not really professional. I had a mustard soup and it didn't taste special, it was also served in a simple small soup bowl.

Good restaurant, food very good

Na een bezoek aan het grootste hunebed, waren wij op zoek naar een leuk restaurant. In het centrum zijn diverse leuke terrassen, maar wij schoven aan op het terras van De Weme. En wat hebben wij lekker gegeten! De bediening is zeer gastvrij en snel. Ik had de Chicken scaloppa, zeer lekker! De rest van het gezin had het stoofpotje, de Taco Tubs en de schnitzel. Stuk voor stuk lekker. Zelfs nog extra patat bijbesteld die niet berekend wordt. De desserts waren ook super! Al met al een grote aanrader!

Delicious food, friendly and pleasant service. Extensive menu and something for everyone, very suitable for longer dining. The beer list is not that extensive alone, but there are some different styles available. For the wine list it would be useful to indicate the grape variety, which was not available for every wine.

De bediening was niet helemaal oké. Er werd door de bediening gemorst maar er werd niet schoongemaakt. Het brood bij de gerechten was echt taai! Met het mes was er geen doorkomen aan.

We just came here for a drink on the terrace and were kindly helped. The prices are competitive, especially for the aperol spritz, which is at least two or three euros more expensive in the Randstad. The waiter spontaneously offered to take a photo of us. Nice.

Maandagavond lekker gegeten met mijn man en dochter. Vanmiddag wilden mijn dochter en ik wat drinken. Helaas ging dit niet door aangezien we totaal genegeerd werden.

I sat outside because it was nice, but I thought the noise from the traffic was a little less later when my guest had gone inside, which was nice and cozy and well taken care of by the person.

Wij hebben beide de Angus beef burger gehad, heerlijke sappige burger. Ook de prijs kwaliteitverhouding was goed. Vriendelijke bediening.

Today for the 2nd time here, the first time everything was not too bad, this time it was really below par. Nice weather but not a crowded terrace, people who came later than us were helped earlier, after coffee (which took a long time) we wanted to order lunch but decided to leave it at coffee. Fairly rude waiter who responded to the complaint that others were helped earlier with; How nice that you give me such compliments. So there won't be a 3rd time 😞

We had the opportunity to eat here last week. Beautiful weather so we picked a nice spot on the terrace. Fast service despite being busy A beautiful card for children and adults. The asparagus with ham was simply delicious and the dessert was simply fantastic. The portions were good (we could just order fries/potatoes) Recommended!! And if we are in the area again we will definitely come back.

Ordered a snack board for €24.50. Please indicate in advance that someone in our party is allergic to garlic. I was shocked at how sparse this board was (see photo!!), luckily there was lettuce as filling😬! We have also reported this. The service tried to help us, but the kitchen said that it was because products with garlic were not allowed. It turned out that only a bowl of olives was left out. Received snacks instead. For the piece of bread there were spreads -> herb butter, aioli and tapenade (with garlic😓). It was really disappointing! We did receive a discount of €2 as compensation when paying. I will never order a drink here again...

Compared to the previous positive reactions, we have a less good experience with this restaurant. The portions are very meager and the price on the high side. There were exactly 12 fries on the plate, which could have been a child's portion. You don't get fries at all with the hamburger. This had to be ordered separately. The food was tasty. The service was fast but seemed rushed.

Recently had something to eat at this disappointing establishment. All conditions were present for a successful lunch; beautiful weather and in a good location. Once we found some tables (10 people), or at least we were able to scrounge these up ourselves, our patience was tested. After which we ultimately received a number of menu cards with limited options. These were then accepted with some reluctance by the waiter. The waiting staff then thought it appropriate to mess with the cutlery on the table, after which we were allowed to distribute it ourselves. When the food arrived we wondered if we had all ordered a child's portion by mistake. Satay where you could find the few fries and lettuce leaves between the fried chicken and lukewarm satay sauce. For the fully cooked Black Angus Burger, which was also delicious, even a leaf of lettuce and half a potato was too much to ask for. The burger, together with the crispy bun, lay stark naked on the cold plate. As far as the service is concerned, this wasn't great either. At one point, one waiter felt it necessary to give the other a big push, then shout after him: 'Icing sugar to table 25, urgently!' The receiving waiter almost tripped over the somewhat outdated patio furniture and then delivered the sugar to destiny with drooping ears. After all this theater and eating the food served, we went to pay. Where the waiter on duty had no active memory of his customers who had just been served. After the appropriate amount, which was in no way proportionate to what we had used, had been paid, the waiter looked somewhat sad that there was no tip. All in all a very disappointing experience with this tent. The highlight was the beautiful weather and the village of Borger, but I would recommend everyone to go a little further for lunch/dinner.

My wife ordered a salad, which turned out to be swimming in dressing. At one point she actually indicated that it was really bad and that she wanted to send it back, after which the waiter indicated that it was also possible to order something else as compensation. However, the chef did not agree to this and said he could make the salad again with less dressing. I ended up leaving it halfway through because it was still drowning in the dressing. The hamburger sandwich was okay, but not special, especially for that price. I wouldn't come back here to try the rest.
