Vlint 21 in Wijk 00 Borger

Ate here on 09/11/26. The spareribs were clearly mostly pre-boiled, then glazed and briefly grilled. They were very tender, though, but the marinade (sweet) wasn't really tasty and the garlic sauce was too sour. The beef tenderloin wasn't very tender; some pieces were simply tough, lots of pepper, and a bland herb butter. The fries were very crispy and fluffy. Was the food ready ridiculously fast too? The service is polite and attentive. By the way, they charge 0.50 for tap water here and 1.50 euros for a carafe of tap water, and you also have to pay for side dishes separately (they aren't included with the main course by default). The dessert wasn't anything special either. Overall, we got the feeling that the main goal is to keep costs down and deliver as much as possible. Be careful if you have mobility issues; the toilets are located one floor down, accessible via a large wooden staircase.

Restaurant Vlint21 is the restaurant of Hotel Bieze in Borger, but is also open to non-hotel guests. Vlint21 is centrally located in Borger and is also a pleasant stop during a bike ride. During the season, when the weather is nice, it is lovely to sit outside on the terrace; inside, it is cozy. The service is approachable, helpful, and very friendly. The food is fine; the portions served are, in our opinion, more than large enough. The beer menu is not very extensive, but the available beers are OK, and this also applies to the wine. A restaurant to dine at more often.

Had a delicious meal. When you make a reservation, you know you have a nice table. I have never eaten such a tasty and tender rib-eye. Highly recommended. And then the Vlint dessert Mmmmmmm.

For years, we have been happily visiting Vlint21 whenever we stay at the nearby campsite. We have enjoyed a lovely meal there several times and also ordered vegan takeaway. What appeals to us most is the large and surprising selection of vegan dishes. Everything is tasty, fresh, and prepared with care. The service is also always friendly and welcoming. In short: highly recommended for anyone looking for delicious vegan food in a pleasant atmosphere! We will definitely be back.

The food was delicious. Only the spareribs were very spicy, as if a whole jar of sambal had been added. Otherwise, it was delicious. It's a shame that fries are separate from the menu. Normally they are included.

Nicely decorated location. Great menu! Good dishes, certainly not standard, with various vegan options. You did have to search for the grilled vegetables with the prawns, though. The price seems very average, but the portions are small and you order and pay for all side dishes separately. All in all, a positive experience and definitely a place to come back to.

Poor service. The goat cheese salad was soaked in dressing and the cucumber was almost frozen. Staff didn't come by; eventually, we just walked to the counter and paid. We received no compensation. In short, downright bad.

Is it still common practice these days to serve such heavy meat dishes? The only meat dish of limited weight was the 100-gram grilled skewer (more than enough). And... good food calls for a small but decent wine list. The recommended Rioja was, to put it mildly, very tart and sharp, practically undrinkable; fortunately, it was replaced by a better Merlot.

In a word: fantastic! We went to the vegan shared dining for my birthday, which happened to be on that day. We all found it delicious. The service was super professional and friendly. For me, it was an awesome birthday meal, and it was nice to hear that the event was well-attended. Hopefully, more will come because we will definitely go there! The ‘regular’ menu is also very vegan-friendly.

We had been looking forward to having a nice meal here. A large (noisy) group and poor acoustics meant that we also had to speak loudly to understand each other. The other room was nice and quiet, but we were told that two groups would be arriving there as well, so moving was not advisable. Upon our departure, it turned out those groups still hadn't arrived, so we were not happy with the fact that we received no cooperation. In terms of food, the fries were particularly good, but the sauce with the eggplant and the coleslaw turned out to be truly unappetizing. How did something like that end up on the table? But above all, the waitress was the epitome of disinterest, not only at our table but also at the other tables. A huge shame; a previous experience was good, but this could be called bad on three points and is therefore not worth repeating. It's funny that you get invited to write a review when everything was to your liking. For bad experiences, you should be able to/must contact them directly. Yes, I could do that too, but a review is a review.

The vegan shared dining was amazing.

Nice, spacious restaurant. Friendly staff. Various tasty vegetarian/vegan options (standard) on the menu. Enough options to eat for several evenings. Highly recommended. The breakfast (Hotel Bieze serves their breakfast here) was also good (just be sure to mention in advance that you want a vegan breakfast, then you get an extensive and tasty breakfast). Very satisfied!

The food was truly delicious. We had the Classic Platter, which we highly recommend. The only minor drawback, which of course may be different for everyone, was that the waitress kept asking if we wanted anything else to drink, even when our glasses were still full. All in all, highly recommended!

A lot of vegan options on the menu. Not the standard “goat cheese salad as a vegetarian option” or a dish where the meat has been removed, but really good vegan dishes that are also tasty. Unfortunately, passing on to the kitchen that the dishes should be vegan does not always go well. On two different days we got meat instead of the ordered vegan dishes. The staff of course apologized in every way, but we still had to point out that the wrong dishes had to be taken off the order. The staff is very nice and works hard. The food was very tasty

Last week we had our afternoon lunch here with the motorcycle club. Besides the nice location, we had very good service and the food was finger licking good. I always try to go to other locations and not the same thing every time, but I would definitely like to make an extra stop here.

It was well prepared and provided with a delicious dressing. For the main course we chose the grilled diamond fillet. It was tender and came with a tasty sauce, which made it a nice choice. To finish, we chose the New York cheesecake. It was creamy and full of flavor, which made for a nice ending. The service was friendly and attentive, which is always a plus. All in all, Vlint 21 was a nice place for dinner, and I would definitely recommend it to others. Also if you want to dine vegetarian or vegan.

Prijskwaliteit verhouding niet goed. Verder vroeg ik om witbrood voor mijn clubsandwich en kreeg bruin. Toen ik een tafeltje wilde verschuiven ivm regen mocht dit niet. Clubsandwich leek op veredelde tosti waar de kip schijnbaar overheen is gevlogen. Verder wel vriendelijk personeel.

The restaurant has some strong points, but there are also clear improvements needed. First of all, the decoration of the restaurant was positively noticed. The interior is attractive and exudes care, which contributes to a pleasant ambiance. Unfortunately, this experience was partly overshadowed by some shortcomings. The glasses in which the drinks were served clearly needed replacing. They looked old and gave a less fresh impression. As for the food: the onion soup was disappointing. This was bland and lacked depth of flavor. The 12 hour meal was generous, perhaps even too much for an average eater. A smaller, more balanced portion might be a better fit. In addition, the wait time for the food was very long, which seems to indicate that there are staffing problems. This can really impact the guest experience, especially if the expectation is that everything will run smoothly. Overall a mixed experience. With more attention to the kitchen, faster service and some updates to the tableware, this restaurant can certainly utilize more potential.
