This is a wonderful place. The food is top-notch, but always returns to its Greek roots. The Greek flavors are recognizable, but elevated to new heights. The dishes are also beautifully presented. The service is friendly and welcoming, and the quality of both the wine pairings and the non-alcoholic drinks is simply excellent. In short, I love coming here and recommend it to everyone!

Elea is located halfway along Noordeinde, the historic avenue where the royal palace, antique shops and galleries alternate. Behind the brick facade of a former office building, you can look through high windows into the dining room: olive wood tables, large pots with succulents and an open kitchen where chef Takis Panagakis and his team work at a leisurely pace, while hostess and sommelier Bibi Kuyp directs the room tightly but relaxed. The dinner starts with a glass of assyrtiko next to a snack of romaine lettuce, herbs and lemon; bright and fresh, just like the rest of the evening. Beekridder gets a short smoke treatment, lies under thin kohlrabi and floats in a broth of hay and dashi. Dutch shrimps come with a sauce of their heads, tomato cremeux and crispy shrimp; recognizable flavors that still feel new. Razor clam and sea lavender combine salt, tahini and grapefruit without anything taking over. Loosely inspired by Greek pea soup, Veal Succade shows how refined comfort food can be. The savoury section concludes with fillet, back and neck of lamb, creamy trahana and onion-pepper chutney. Rhubarb, mastiha ice cream and hibiscus marshmallow provide a delicious, sweet ending. With a European-Greek cuisine at Michelin star level (!!), Elea is still unique in the Netherlands. Wow, what an experience! Sure, it’s right in the heart of the city, so parking can be a bit of a puzzle. But the moment you step inside, you’re transported into a peaceful oasis. The space is airy, modern, and spotless — exactly what you’d expect from a top-tier dining place. And then there’s the food… absolutely stunning! Each dish looked like it came straight from a Michelin-starred kitchen, infused with bold Greek flavors and creative twists. Familiar tastes, reimagined in ways that surprise and delight. Every course was a new discovery — a true feast for the senses. Highly recommended for anyone who appreciates refined cuisine with a Mediterranean soul.

I have now eaten in this new building a few times and it has been a great experience every time. Price-quality is more than excellent and the portions are also good. Delicious matching wines. And a super interior completes the picture. Too bad they have left Rijswijk, but what a beautiful building they now have!!! I understand the choice. Then just drive and/or cycle a little further! Went for a 6-course vegetarian. Crikey that was good. It was a special occasion and it fitted the bill really well. If this wasn't the best meal we've ever had I can't recall a better one. If you are looking for a top restaurant, this is the place for you. Even if you don't want to eat meat, fish or shellfish. Various delicious appetizers are followed by an excellent menu. I come here a few times a year, the style of cooking remains unchanged with a delicious Greek twist. Everything beautifully laid out. The wines often come from Greece, go well with the dishes and are of good quality. The chefs in the open kitchen work quietly and disciplined, the service is attentive and can explain well what is being served. A well-oiled team. I have been wondering for years why they don't have a Michelin star, especially now that they have moved to this beautiful location. If you come by bike, there is a biesieklette opposite the shop, for which you need a (free) tag to open the door.

What did you say, we were spoiled again at Elea 🥰! Of course the company was great, but Elea's Christmas decorations made the afternoon extra special. Lunch from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM: fabulous! Photos of bubbles as an aperitif, exciting amuses, a beautifully balanced 4-course menu with matching wines (especially the second course, fresh pasta, slowly cooked egg yolk, parmesan foam generously topped with fresh truffle) will stay with me for a long time! Had a delicious meal at Elea on Christmas Eve. It was our first time and I would love to come back again. The Christmas menu was quintessentially Christmasy and the first time I have had such a Christmassy dinner somewhere.

What a beautiful serene tranquility this restaurant radiates. The interior provides tranquility, and echoing fellow guests dominate. Attentive staff at a beautiful entrance. The evening starts with cocktails that require a lot of practice. No reason for another 1. The choice of an extensive menu has been made. Additional amuse-bouche heralds the 'slow going' evening. The olive oil is fantastic. Beautiful tableware here, too large for the dishes, with marble dimples at the start of the menu. But....the same in terms of layout and style. And the dishes ok. But excuse...nothing special. The meat dish was superior. But considering the entire menu the entire evening, too slow...and therefore too long a sitting, well...not special actually. If a certain level has to be reached, it can be more exciting, with more challenge and the taste sensation increased. Certainly not bad, but as far as this menu is concerned, no repeat for us. The wine list is nice.

The food was delicious however they took FOREVER with the food. We spent 5hrs total (not by choice) waiting for each course 1hr. I get it’s an experience and everything, however this is way too long. I was happy to get out of there finally at 12am. (This is not my first fine dining experience and I can say for sure it should not take so long). Only explanation is maybe they are short staffed. Did not look as so however.

Had a wonderful evening at Elea! Upon entering, you find yourself in a spaciously designed restaurant with plenty of room between tables, which we really appreciated. The interior is clean and tasteful, though for my personal taste just a touch too sterile, a hint of personality could add even more warmth and ambiance to the experience. The service was excellent. I felt like they had a close eye on everything. One of the staff members noticed I had given my girlfriend a gift during dinner, and later in the evening they surprised us with a small birthday dessert, such a thoughtful and attentive touch. The enthusiastic staff helped us feel very welcome. They were also careful to consider allergies and dietary preferences, which was great! And now, the highlight: the food! We had a 7-course menu that truly impressed us. We started with three amuse-bouches and delicious bread served with a special dip and butter. This was followed by Greek inspired dishes, with the yellowtail and scallops standing out as highlights, followed by a perfectly cooked duck with a rich, flavorful jus. Every wine paired with the dishes was spot on. The dessert was a personal favorite, every flavor harmonized beautifully, which was surprising given that it included an ingredient like carrot. I’d honestly come back just for that! Would definitely return and have already recommended it to a friend. A solid 10 out of 10!

I recently dined at Elea in Hage and was thrilled to discover it was just a short 6-minute drive from our accommodation. Although we couldn’t indulge in the 9-course degustation due to early travel plans, we opted for the à la carte menu and were not disappointed. The Red Mullet and Black Angus dishes were outstanding, and the surprise offerings from the chef added an extra layer of delight. For dessert, the pistachio creation was the perfect sweet finale. This was my first experience with Greek-influenced fine dining, and it was absolutely delicious. The mock-tail was a refreshing treat, and my husband thoroughly enjoyed the red wine recommended by the staff. Elea’s food is cooked with love, delivering super tasty dishes without pretension. Their goal is clearly to please their guests rather than chase accolades, but in my opinion, they truly deserve Michelin stars!

Whilst we enjoyed the overall experience I would say this one was one of the smallest portion size we had from all our fine dining experiences. Flavors for some of the dishes was just about average especially the bean one. At this price point I would expect a bit more in terms of flavors.

After enjoying a fantastic menu here in January, we were again pleasantly surprised last week. In addition to the dishes, which are of great class, the service is also very professional, friendly and attentive. Keep it up and we'll keep coming. I cannot imagine that the Michelin inspector is not also impressed by this fine address.

We had an amazing experience and the food was so delicious! It definitely exceed our expectations. The staff is attentive and welcoming. The only tip we would have is the bread and butter could have been better, as well as the choices for dessert. The rest of the dinning experience was top notch and the dishes were exquisite. An incredible experience! Dining there was a gift from my girlfriend for my birthday, and as a Greek who has dined in many Greek restaurants in the Netherlands and Greece, I must admit that this was one of the best I had! The interior was balanced and minimalistic. Elea is focused on giving a food experience in a place that can be comfortable and appealing for everyone that loves Greek cuisine in a more contemporary and fine dining frame, without exaggerating. The food was just amazing, we had the 5-course menu—a great combination of modern cooking art and tradition. My favourite was Arakas, with pea, carrot, potato and feta. Everything in the dish was balanced and took me back to my city. Service was friendly and they knew how to act and treat people so they will feel comfortable and like home. They explained every dish in detail and ensured everything would be nice and cosy. They dealt with a small issue professionally and with affection. I suggest this experience to everyone. Absolutely amazing experience with the most divine fine dining cuisine I have had in a long time. Love the open kitchen so you get a glimpse of the chef working and each dish was beautiful to look at and the flavors were well balanced and incredible. We did the 3 course lunch menu and the lobster with white asparagus was out of this world divine! Really love the Greek elements brought in a modern touch that brings out of the flavors. Highly recommended for that special occasion 🥰

Tolles stylisches Restaurant im Zentrum von Den Haag. Wir hatten das komplette Menü einmal mit Wein- und einmal mit alkoholfreier Begletung. Es waren ausgezeichnete Gerichte und teilweise spannende Getränke, der Service war sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Das Retsaurant ist zu empfehlen und auch nicht überteuert.

Beautiful restaurant with delicious food. It's Greek but not as we know it. Small portions, but many courses so more than enough. Lots of appetizers, extensive friandises with coffee: all very good! The non-alcoholic cocktails were also very tasty. The staff is also very friendly. The room is very spacious, the tables are quite far apart, which certainly improves the atmosphere. And the toilets were very clean and spacious too. We will definitely come back

Surprised this place doesn't have a Michelin star, it was a top dining experience for us. Decor and dishes add to the whole ambience. The 9 course set meal took awhile but was full of delicious delights. I particularly loved how the vegetarian menu I ordered made the dishes to look almost identical to the ones on my husband's normal menu. They even did a special anniversary dish as a finale.

On Friday, April 26, we celebrated our 6th anniversary at Elea. We had not been there ourselves and were very curious about the Greek elements in fine dining. Of course you pay more for this, but it was all worth it. We wanted to eat delicious food, be completely taken care of and really have an evening out. And it worked! In addition, between courses 4 and 5 I asked if we could get a little more time because I wanted to ask my boyfriend to marry me. And he said YES, so a perfect evening! The restaurant is sleekly decorated, yet warm in tones. The controls are completely in black, but still open. You will receive a warm welcome and your coat will be accepted. There is space between the tables so that you still have privacy. We had 9 courses including half glasses of wine arrangement. The food was more than sufficient and so was the wine. The flavors were well balanced and the wines paired well with the dishes. The only reason I didn't give it a 10 is because I didn't think the music fit the setting. Up tempo house beats in the background. Nice ending that the chef came by to have a chat. We enjoyed it and will definitely come back again. PS: wonderful to see how the kitchen worked so well in harmony with each other! What peace and control they radiate! Our evening was certainly memorable!

A really good restaurant with skilled service and chefs. Enjoyed the food, the ambiance and the attention.

I am often invited to good restaurants for work. In my experience, these can be divided into two categories: 1. the places that use a small amount of food on a large white plate paired with a high price and often average quality as an opportunity to describe themselves as “posh”. 2. the restaurants that really have what it takes, both in the kitchen and in their dealings with guests. Cooking has now been one of my hobbies for years and I imagine I can differentiate between the above groups and differentiate between “that’s not my taste” and “that’s poorly prepared”. For me, Elea is definitely one of the restaurants that has it all, for the following reasons: 1. I don't know of any restaurant where I encountered as much creativity as Elea. The chef tries things out and has ideas that I would never think of, without forgetting to focus on good taste. He is always good for surprises and special features, from the flavor combinations to the ingredients and the way the food is presented. 2. The ingredients are of excellent quality and not just any finished products. 3. On every visit without exception, I always enjoyed all the courses, from “good” to “fantastic”. 4. The restaurant has a very friendly atmosphere, which is mainly influenced by the type of people. On the one hand, I always have the impression that I am treated very professionally, but on the other hand, the interaction is friendly and warm. 5. I also really like the equipment related to the containers in which the food is served. Here, too, you can feel wonderful creativity with every step. 6. The restaurant's recommendations regarding drinks or special features were always more than helpful. Above all: I always had the feeling that we were looking for something that was right for us and not, as is often the case, the most expensive thing. 7. This quality also has its price. The Elea isn't cheap, but it's not extremely expensive either and, above all, it's worth every cent! If you register a week in advance, vegetarian or vegan menus are also possible. And you shouldn't make the mistake of thinking that they are less varied or less interesting in terms of taste. They are also top class. The bottom line is that I can recommend the Elea without reservation! For me it is the best restaurant I know.

Had a wonderful experience at Elea and this might be the best dining experience I've had in Den Haag. The service was truly great. The decor brings a Mediterranean warmth to the city. The plating is fantastic. The team behind the kitchen give you a delightful, expansive menu of choices. You can select from a variety off the main menu, vegetarian menu, or a la carte. I had a five course menu that began with an incredible yellowtail kingfish course, followed by an even better vegetarian dish. The scallop was perfectly cooked in a beure blanc, and finally a lamb dish which was probably my least favorite dish. I chose the cheese board over the dessert. I believe this is at the same level of many Michelin star restaurants I have attended and I look forward to returning!

We found it muah… service a bit blunt, atmosphere super stiff and food not as fantastic as we expected. Vega menu was also a copy of the main menu. While I would say something special about it instead of a copy of the other dish. Maybe it just wasn't our thing. Two friends of mine thought it was fantastic…

What a great restaurant Elea is. We were 4 people and opted for 9 courses, both vegetarian and fish/meat. Both impressive menus. The dishes are so surprising because they have Greek influences. All dishes were really delicious and beautifully presented. Honestly, I have been to many Michelin star restaurants, but this vegetarian menu is really the best of the best! And not to forget what great service. We were allowed to speak with the chef for a moment. Passion for his profession! Highly recommended. And as far as we are concerned, this restaurant really has star level. Big 10! We'll be back as soon as the menu changes!

It was a great experience. My group and I were allowed to sit at the head table overlooking the kitchen. We opted for 9 courses with matching wines. We are very surprised by the dishes. It was very tasty and beautifully prepared. Only the foie gras was slightly less popular. The staff was very friendly and at the end the owner came to have a chat. All in all we had a good experience here and definitely recommend it!

A “diet” dish was mixed up with my guest. The experienced waiter (he doesn't deserve the name host) only changed the dish when my guest asked if it was correct. There was no apology. At one of the 9 courses the dish was very salty (oxtail). That was not only my experience but also that of my guest. A comment about this was dismissed by a response of “it's a matter of personal taste”. No apology or at least understanding here either How different it was six months ago when Bibi as a hostess gave you a real customer experience. The highlight for me was the door conversation with the chef. About the salty dish, he indicated that dishes are tasted every day and that no other guests have complained. This means that you, as a guest, are actually being branded some kind of liar. However, this closed the door for us once and for all.

A day out. We can talk about the dishes, the atmosphere, the decor, the service, but read the reviews and you will see that it is all good. But the synergy of all this creates an ambience in which you can have wonderful conversations with each other for hours. You will be pampered for an afternoon or evening because all the senses are stimulated. It was special and that's how you should see it, as something special. We took a 7 course menu and all dishes were such a surprise. I never tasted these kinds of combinations. Food is really high end and cost as well, so be prepared to spend some money, but if you are here for a special occasion, then it is definitely worth it. Staff is very friendly and smoothly cleans and switches cutlery between courses. Though, my only critique would be that the G&T didn’t have any condiments…

As Belgians, we are used to some culinary food (apologies for bragging). We already heard that we had booked in a very expensive and very fancy restaurant....oh... No, it wasn't too bad: we are at those prices in Belgium!!! On the contrary, we did not feel milked. The taste of the beautifully presented dishes was really tasty and original. The vegetarian version was also popular. The matched wines were very tasty and came from all over Europe. It's a real bonus that you can ask for half portions. The staff is very friendly. Now less comment: unfortunately the lighting is not good. Far too diffusely dim, while the dishes could catch a ray of beautiful light. The time was quite long before the dishes started, at least 1.5 hours....

Visiting Elea is a unique experience. You discover new tastes served in an aristocratic customer friendly manner. The whole protocol is interesting. There are both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. I also tried Greek white wine for a very affordable price given the high level of the environment. Thank you for the wonderful hospitality.

I can be very brief about ELEA: everything was great! We had a fantastic meal, service was great (even though the sommelier was ill), wonderful atmosphere. We will 100% be back and will recommend ELEA to anyone who appreciates fantastic food. Thank you ELEA team for the wonderful evening!

Super restaurant, heerlijk gegeten, fijne bediening, goede adviezen. Een super ervaring en zeker voor herhaling vatbaar.

A rising star. Ik bezocht afgelopen donderdag voor het eerst restaurant Elea, ik was op uitnodiging van een relatie. Samen zijn wij beide verzot op Griekenland en hebben wij culinair genoten van elk gerechtje, de ambiance en het voortreffelijke personeel. Op advies namen wij de gerookte paling, de bloemkool, de knolselderij wellington, dry aged eend en als dessert de zoete tzatziki met komkommer, griekse yoghurt, dille en knoflook dit laatste gerechtje was werkelijk een ware smaaksensatie. De gerechtjes zijn klein maar overtreffen ieders smaakpapillen en worden gepresenteerd op de meest schitterende handgemaakte borden en kommen. Chapeau! Als foodfotograaf zou ik deze Griekse pareltjes graag in beeld brengen. Ik kom zeker terug, groet Pascale van Reijn

The staff's behavior is very inconsistent. Upon arrival, several staff members blocked the entrance while they were chatting amongst themselves. They noticed us, but did not move out of the way or welcome us. Once inside, it seemed like our reservation was not initially known to the staff. The staff was varying from warm and friendly, to aloof and stiff to very uncomfortable/tense. A warm smile would go a long way. When we got up from the table to go to the bathroom, we had to actively ask where the bathroom was, while the staff was just standing there doing nothing and staring at me. Most of the dishes were very unbalanced. In general, the sauces and other ingredients overshadowed the main ingredient (e.g. the sea bass, cauliflower). The duck breast was flavorful, but strangely cut length wise along the grain of the fibers, giving it a tougher character, wasting such a beautiful piece of meat. Wine or non alcoholic pairing is very fairly priced. The restaurant has a good concept, but still needs some fine-tuning and when these issues are addressed, it could become a great fine dining destination. EDIT: The restaurant called back and we discussed the issues. Great to see a place actively doing a follow up when customers don't have the best experience and take criticism seriously.

整體空間氛圍相當舒適，每道餐點和餐盤的搭配完美，食物味道也相當棒。這次特別有印象的是主餐鴨胸肉，皮的部分咬下後能感受的微焦香氣，但不覺得太硬。還有另一道一開始還以為是麵條，卻是由魷魚所製作而成的料理，令人驚豔，非常推薦這間餐廳。

Geweldig gegeten bij Elea, ‘modern en culinair met subtiele Griekse invloeden’. Culinair en modern was het zeker, van die Griekse invloeden hebben we niet veel teruggevonden. Denk hier zeker niet aan grote lappen vlees aan spiesen. Denk eerder aan zeer verfijnd smaakvol eten. Mooi opgemaakt, dito servies en bestek. Erg lekkere soms onverwachte lekkere smaken. Superlekker allemaal. Helaas liet de bediening wel wat steken vallen. Na de eerste koude gangen die wat snel kwamen was het daarna (erg) lang wachten op de volgende gerechten. Misschien kon de keuken het niet bijhouden met die heerlijke en bewerkelijke gerechten. De grote zaak, misschien te groot voor dit geraffineerde eten, zat goed vol, misschien had dat invloed. Aan de andere kant was de bedieningen niet altijd even vriendelijk, voelde soms niet echt gastvrij, glazen werden soms plompverloren op de tafel gezet en werd er soms voor de gast langs servies geplaceerd. Dat was erg jammer want het eten was top.

Exquisite dishes with Greek accents paired with beautiful wines. Excellent service and stylish interior. Five stars for sure!

We hebben afgelopen zaterdag een geweldige avond gehad. Genoten van jullie gastvrijheid en het heerlijke eten / drinken. We gaan zeker terugkomen!!!

Absoluut een culinaire parel in Den Haag! Bij restaurant Elea wordt je smaakpapillen een onvergetelijke ervaring beloofd. De gerechten zijn niet alleen heerlijk, maar ook als ware kunstwerkjes opgemaakt, waarbij elk bord een visueel festijn is. De inrichting van het restaurant is heel smaakvol en draagt bij aan een sfeervolle ambiance die perfect past bij de hoogwaardige gerechten. Wat echt opvalt, is het personeel - zeer vriendelijk en uiterst deskundig, wat de hele ervaring naar een hoger niveau tilt. Kortom, Elea is een must-visit voor iedereen die op zoek is naar een gastronomisch avontuur dat zowel de smaakpapillen als de zintuigen prikkelt.

Gehobenes Restaurant mit ambitionierten Menüs. Elegant moderne Einrichtung mit offener Küche gepaart mit stilsicherer griechischer Küche. Von der Reservierung bis zur Bedienung alles zur vollen Zufriedenheit, spannende internationale Weinkarte.

Lekker gegeten, maar prijs-kwaliteit is niet helemaal in lijn €600 voor 4 personen, 1 geen wijnarrangement. Geen enkele Griekse wijn in het wijnarrangement, dus dat was wel een flinke tegenvaller en daarnaast een gastvrouw die niet kon lachen en alles opdreunde. Al met al niet overtuigd.

Wir hatten einen wunderschönen Abend im Elea. Das Ambiente beim Eintreffen war schon angenehm. Wir wurden herzlich vom Service in Empfang genommen und den ganzen Abend wunderbar umsorgt. Und dann das Essen. Die Amuese Guele waren schon ein geschmackliches und visuelles Erlebnis. Sowohl das vegetarische als auch das Menü mit Fleisch waren ein gustatorisches Erlebnis. Beim vegetarischen Menu hat uns die Kreativität besonders gefallen. Beim letzten Gang hatten wir die Wahl zwischen Käse oder Dessert. Das Dessert war die bessere Wahl, da dies nochmal ein Höhepunkt war und das ganze Menü fabelhaft abgerundet hat. Käse war eher eine geschmackliche Tour de force. Wir würden das nächste Mal beide das Dessert bevorzugen. Handwerkliche und kreative Meisterleistung mit vielen kreativen Highlights. Und wir konnten sogar einen wunderbaren alkoholfreien Wein zum Essen genießen. Wie hatten beide das 5-Gänge Menü und das war gut so, denn wir haben insgesamt 3 Stunden dort verbracht. Für das 9-Gänge Menü würden wir das nächste Mal früher hingehen, um jeden Gang wirklich auskosten zu können. Der ganze Abend war definitiv sein Geld wert. Absolute Empfehlung!!

I've haven't been to many fine dining greek restaurants, so when we walked past this one it piqued my interest. I think it's totally worth trying. They have their takes on multiple greek traditional dishes, and they work quite well. The two meat dishes where the ones that caught my attention the most. Place is very nice, I like the vibe. Tables are nicely spaced from each other. Depending on where you sit, you can see the kitchen which is always a bonus. Wouldn't be surprised if it gets a Michelin star at some point.

Wat een top zaak hebben jullie ervan gemaakt en het eten is nog steeds helemaal top, geweldige sensatie en bijzondere wijnen. Dank voor de fantastische avond, we komen snel terug.

Truly a remarkable experience, with great food, creatively prepared and presented. Service was outstanding! This is a tight team that is superbly professional, friendly, calm and concentrated; they make it all look easy and created a wonderful evening for us with many nice surprises. We'll be back!
