I enjoy sitting on the terrace when the weather is nice, even though it is sometimes chilly. It is very pleasant, partly due to the heated cushions and heaters.

We had a wonderfully delicious meal. Definitely recommended. We would love to come back again.

Actually the most beautiful spot in Emmen, with a welcoming terrace right in the middle of the old center. Greetings, Willem, chairman of the old center, where you can shop and eat wonderfully. It's a pity they aren't members of the interest group Het Oude Centrum.

Never again. I brought my 5-month-old daughter for a drink and finally asked for some water for her bottle. The microwave wasn't working, so I got cold water back. I asked the next person for lukewarm water, but they didn't have time. I asked again, and this time the answer was, "You'll have to bring your own thermos." It's incredibly awful that a baby who only needs lukewarm water is treated this way.

This is the umpteenth time we've been there and found things on our bill that we didn't order. It's a real shame. We reported it and got our money back. This has happened so often, unfortunately. Keep an eye on your bill.

Delicious coffee, good pastries, and a heated seat. So, we took a seat on a terrace at the end of October.

The food was delicious, but it was a shame the vitello tonato was still too cold (not completely thawed). It was also disappointing that the lovely tomatoes served with the main course weren't warm. Compliments to the service, especially the young man who served impeccably! Ladies first, and always on the right! Excellent!

We enjoyed a high tea for my sister's 18th birthday! We let her know quite late, so it was fantastic that they were able to arrange it. There are three rounds of tea (about two cups per round) and a wide variety of teas. There are also a few hot snacks and plenty of sweet treats. Allergies and dietary requirements were also well-considered. We also had a great waitress who took her time, was sociable, and attentive.

A pastry costs €4.95, and it comes with a small dollop of whipped cream, which costs €1.30. The staff is very friendly. We were a bit shocked by the price.

We had lunch here this afternoon with four people. Only four of the lunch dishes were well-prepared and delicious. The ancient bread is excellent. We sat comfortably under the trees in the shade. We placed our order using the QR code on the table, which worked perfectly. A water bowl was quickly brought for the dog. It's great that he's allowed on the terrace too. In short, a great spot for lunch.

I had to pay over €3 extra for a small jug of warm milk with my coffee. I had to because it was priced like a glass of milk. Now they've lost three customers—my friends and myself.

After a day out at Wildlands Zoo, my wife and I had dinner in the Kamer. The dishes are prepared with care; you can see and taste that. We had a delicious meal.

Very expensive. Cappuccino with espresso shot 7.80. The manager thought it was reasonable. Those are the prices. No attentive staff to take food orders; I had to ask for it myself and walk over. The employee quickly told me it was busy. Not recommended.

We had a wonderful meal at Restaurant Galerie De Kamer, where the steak sandwiches were truly amazing. Along with our main courses, we also had potato wedges, a cup of mayo, and a salad as side dishes, and the potatoes were fantastic. The service was very friendly, and you really felt like they were paying attention; they wanted to make sure you had everything you needed.

Had lunch here on a Friday afternoon during the weekly market. The pulled pork sandwich was super delicious.

Delicious food with friendly service

We had high tea here on Mother's Day, two children and four adults, and we had reservations. Upon arrival, no one came to show us to our table, but we were asked several times to move aside. That was the beginning. We were told there would be three rounds of tea/coffee and soft drinks for the children. The food wasn't enough for six people: four scones (which were delicious, by the way), dry sandwiches, and the sweets came straight from a wholesaler. We had to ask for a second round of drinks ourselves, and by then the food was practically gone. We received two extra scones because we'd asked for them. We were given mini croissants with butter because we felt the food wasn't enough. When we paid, we were told we would have to pay full price for the children (ages 2 and 6). I asked for a child's rate, which we eventually received. It's a shame it went this way, because high tea can be a lot of fun, but here I didn't enjoy it. Only plus: the scones were really tasty.

For our high tea (€30 per person), six of us received the same two platters as a table of two, which was very meager. The sandwiches were dry and tasteless, and the snacks seemed to have come straight from the wholesaler. Furthermore, a few orders were forgotten. The atmosphere and location were pleasant, but the overall experience was disappointing.

Very bad Easter brunch, no coffee, tea, juice, or milk included, and that for a brunch of 34.50. And charging extra for a person who didn't come along. 9 instead of 10. Ridiculous, once is enough, never again. It was simply a disgrace.

We had a three-course meal at De Kamer. The starter, a potato garlic soup, was delicious. However, I would have liked some bread or croutons with it. That would have completed the meal. The main course was surf & turf. Unfortunately, the bavette was more rare than medium, as requested, and the prawns were a bit too chewy. The sauce and mashed potatoes were excellent. The side dishes, including potatoes and salad, were simple but tasty. The highlight was the surprise dessert of pineapple cheesecake, half a passion fruit, and chocolate ice cream with coconut and orange sauce. The service was excellent. Visit sometime and experience a culinary surprise at this beautiful establishment.

Friendly staff, everyone has their own task; one only brings and collects, another takes orders, no problem. Coffee with a dollop of chocolate whipped cream and a cookie, absolutely top-notch. The food, tasty food, not very Special, but good (also pricey, by the way)

I ordered mushroom soup, which turned out to be just broth with a few mushrooms. No bread roll was included, a real disgrace and way too expensive for what you get.

The food is good, but don't expect any culinary masterpieces. The prices, however, are truly absurd; probably plates with a gold rim. 2 croquettes with a slice of bread 16.00 EURO

We had higher expectations for the lunch. That might be due to the great atmosphere of the old building. Quite a price for the quality. There were very thick slices of tomato with the ham; stacked up, all 4 slices formed a whole tomato. Excluding the ends. The potato soup was just a purée that was too thin, not soup at all. So thick and lumpy, with little flavor. It was okay with salt and pepper. I would ask if your guests would like drinks when serving the lunch. We ordered and paid for it via the app. No tip, although I always give one. The coffee was delicious and highly recommended! It was fine, we'll go a place next time.

We went for lunch and chose the brown bread with beef sausage, pepper sauce, and onion. It was tasty, but with two slices of brown bread and three small slices of beef sausage, and the other slice containing two small slices and unfortunately without onion, as promised on the menu, and everything hidden under a slice of tomato and cucumber, it was quite expensive at €12.95. The service was very friendly.

Whenever we go to Emmen, we stop here for coffee and a treat. Tasty and cozy.

We came for the 3 course lunch, see attached photo, but this is only possible in the evening. If I remember correctly, 4 tables were occupied at that moment, so I think every customer is welcome and a lot of time is spent in the kitchen to meet our wishes, especially with many room staff who are busy with each other.

Unfriendly staff, especially 1 waitress who was clearly overworked and made us very unfriendly and even ridiculed because she didn't have everything in order herself, it seemed... Was always fun but I won't be back...

We were looking for a gluten free option to have lunch at. We ended up here by accident and were pleasantly surprised. Kind staff and especially the (not gluten free) pulled chicken sandwich was very good and a lot more than you would expect. Also the terrace looks over the whole square, which is nice and full of oak trees.

Nice cozy places to sit, not so crowded, but allergies are not taken into account. Small effort, a carton of oat milk in the refrigerator. Wide choice of tea. Service boring, impersonal. We did not eat there and could not have breakfast there

Have a beer during the golden arrow. 5.50... In a small cup too, pay more for less content. The toilet costs 50 cents, even as a guest. If you don't have any money with you, you can first withdraw from the bar.

We kwamen er voor de lunch en het eten was redelijk. Mijn drinken werd in een plastic bekertje geserveerd. Daarnaast moest er betaald worden voor het toiletbezoek. Wij hebben er eerder al eens gedineerd en toen beviel het goed. We raden het nu af doordat de service inmiddels te wensen overlaat.

Wat een waardeloze tent! Zeer slechte bediening en kwaliteit was ook belabberd Aangegeven dat “verse” jus d’ orange niet vers was en voor €4,50 echt belachelijk weinig qua hoeveelheid. Hierop alleen als reactie gehoord dat de jus d’ orange dan al te lang gestaan had. Geen compensatie o.i.d. Alleen een mega chagrijnige medewerkster

Great restaurant, we thought the snacks were okay but not very special. In our opinion, slices of ham are not special and come from a package, just like the younger cheese. Furthermore, nice to sit and wide choice of beer.

Well, what else can you add to the above five stars. Attractively decorated establishment in an old farm from the time when Emmen was still a village. The menu is brief but offers enough variety to suit everyone's taste. The staff is quick and friendly and the prices very reasonable. Drop by, highly recommended.

Lunch was ok, but the service was downright terrible. Plates are not cleared, no one comes to take an order, even after asking at the bar. The highlight was reporting that there was a long hair in the food, which was dismissed by the waiter with "oh, too bad" without any action. The man had little interest in his work...

Sat on the terrace at De Kamer on a Sunday afternoon. Lovely terrace with shade from trees and you can sit out of the wind. Very friendly and attentive service. The patio worker asked if we were cold and if we wanted to sit in a different place where she could turn on a heater for us. Tasty beers and snacks that were adjusted by the chef because we didn't like something. In short: a great time here!

Smooth and attentive service, delicious food that is served within 10 to 15 minutes, beautiful place with a generous view of a pleasant square, always something to see. Highly recommended: the cappuccino or latte macchiato with the fresh cake, really delicious.

Vanuit Alkmaar naar Emmen afgereisd. Hier hebben we vanavond genoten van de fijne ambiance van 'de Kamer'. Een onwijs mooie horeca gelegenheid waar we heerlijk gegeten en gedronken hebben en waar het personeel super vriendelijk en attent was! Helaas is dit tegenwoordig meer uitzondering dan de regel! Heerlijke plek om even te genieten van een uitstekend drie gangen diner en top bediening. Gerookte makreel en Coburgerham als voorgerecht. Varkens procureur als hoofdgerecht en een super verrassend dessert met smaak explosies. Wij komen hier graag.

Everyone here is of good will, but our starters were really too cold. Main course (veal) undercooked and the carrots raw. I have no idea what went wrong, but I don't recommend it

We actually wanted a high tea that was listed among the menus with the message "please allow 15 minutes of preparation time". Unfortunately, the waiter told us that this had to be ordered a day in advance. Because of our conversation about this, the waiter would take this into account in the next discussion about new menus and adjust the text about this, I hope this will happen. For us it was not entirely a disappointment because the tea and cakes were a good replacement.

We thought we would have a delicious lunch, but alas. In a very quiet restaurant (that should have made me think…) I was served smoked mackerel that had more bone than meat. After 2 bites I gave up. Received no refund or even a word of sympathy. The only thing I was told is that a fish has bones. As if that was news to me. It just seems to me that in a restaurant one can fillet a fish so that a minimum number of bones can be found. If I indicate that the food is not to his liking, I think it would be decent to speak to the customer in a friendly manner. But even that was not possible. So people be warned

We gaan hier regelmatig naar toe voor een kop koffie of een lunch. We zijn hier altijd tevreden over en komen hier graag. Gisteren waren we hier met Koningsdag. Ik begrijp dat het druk is op deze dagen, maar de man in de keuken was alles behalve vriendelijk (kon zich niet in tweeën splitsen). Ik heb hier echt alle begrip voor maar reageer netjes. Daarnaast hebben we hier geluncht voor 60 euro (3 personen) en moesten we alsnog 50 cent betalen voor het toilet. Ik begrijp dat je voor niet gasten geld vraagt, maar voor mensen die hier eten vind ik dit niet netjes en gastvrij

Delicious iced coffee with pastry in the spring sun. Service was not very fast (it was busy) but luckily the QR code on the table worked.

It was perhaps a small precursor that you are the only one in the restaurant. Good thing they had short ribs on the menu so the menu was irresistible. Start with the Zeeland bacon, a bit lukewarm but still good to eat. Less than expected but nicely done. Then the short rib, which I was really looking forward to. Unfortunately the first attempt failed, it was very cold, it would take 5 minutes to send it back, that was correct, unfortunately and disappointing that you get the same piece reheated, causing the outside of which a piece has just fallen off to dry out. Take responsibility when you make a mistake and do it again! Taste is otherwise good, I think serving with rib gives a better experience and does something with the taste. Too bad, even if it is so very quiet that it is not possible to get it right the first time, but it was a good effort to make it right, let's just say, it was a nice tent, it took a while to arrive before someone came or you was approached even though no one else was there. People also pay very little attention and check very little whether there is a need for something, even if it is checking whether someone wants to ask something. Would be nice if it were busy. Would definitely give them another chance because it is not insurmountable, otherwise a nice place.

Waiting for more than an hour for the first course. Apologies from the kitchen, but a group of artists came and they had to eat quickly and they all ordered soup. That was less nice. The food was okay (but certainly not too much).

The cappuccino is cold. If you say something about it, you get the answer that it has just come out of the machine. 3.40 for 1 cup of cold coffee, never again.

The tomato and broccoli soup has a very bland taste, unfortunately some salt and pepper was needed to season these soups. Unfortunately, there is no piece of bread or anything like that included, but you can order this with it. The cappuccino tasted good and is nicely served with a chocolate, whipped cream, cookie and a sip of water.

Service was grumpy in the beginning. The other ladies are great.

Nice place but a lot went wrong with the service. We asked if the drinks platter could be “pregnant-proof”. And a 0.0 beer. We got the Affligem with alcohol instead of 0.0 and there were also two types of meat on the drinks platter that are not good when you are pregnant.

Highly recommended for a High Tea package. Pure indulgence! 1 of the best experiences in Emmen. The staff does its utmost to ensure that the customer lacks nothing, compliments!

An interesting 3-course menu was offered, but when it came to ordering, the chicken roulade was out of stock. While there was no chicken 🐓 in the restaurant 🙃 The other options were not to my taste, but nothing was offered as a replacement, the drink was paid for and we had a nice meal somewhere else
