Restaurant Gaudi's in Wijk 01 Stadskern

We came to Gaudi's with a dinner gift certificate, which we couldn't use, and were given a free drink even though it wasn't their fault, but ours. We had a wonderful evening and a delicious meal, with very friendly staff. We told them we'd been undercharged, as the wrong dish had been charged. We didn't have to pay the difference and even received a free dessert. The food was fantastic, the restaurant has a cozy atmosphere, and the staff are friendly, attentive, and positive. Your experience and quality truly come first at Gaudi's. It's a great tip if you ever dine in Amersfoort.

Today: 3 stars; the food was fair to good. It's more fusion than tapas. The quality, taste, and quantity varied. The spare ribs were barely marinated and had sauce poured over them, the steak was delicious, but very little. The price/quality ratio was out of whack. The service was mediocre; there were a lot of staff on the terrace, but each had a single task (one brings drinks, another sets plates, another takes food orders, etc., and they don't look around properly). In short, it took a very long time and it was unclear who to contact. 3 years ago (5 stars) We had a delicious meal on a super cozy terrace overlooking the bustling De Hof square. The interior decor has remained the same for many years, nostalgic for those who remember it from that time, and otherwise simply beautiful, cozy, and atmospheric.

I've had a great meal here over the past few years, with a pleasant atmosphere and friendly staff. However, the last time I went this summer, I made a reservation for two, and they turned out to be closed. Very frustrating, so I ate elsewhere (clearly less delicious). I sent several emails through their website to find out what went wrong, but unfortunately, I never received a response. It's a shame, though; they could do better.

A lovely place, very friendly and cheerful service, and delicious food. You and the live music on the square made my weekend even better. Thank you for that.

We had the chef's menu. It was delicious, but I'd still prefer to order from the menu in the future. We had to wait quite a while compared to people who ordered separately. And the hot plate wasn't very hot, so by the time we'd finished everything, it was quite cold. The portions were definitely sufficient, and the wine was good. It's always pleasant on the square!

Great place, enthusiastic staff, and a wide selection of delicious food! Highly recommended. The owner is also fantastic!

Good snacks, but definitely not Spanish tapas

It's fantastic that there's so much choice here for both vegans/vegetarians and meat eaters. It's just a shame that a vegetarian dish was placed on the chicken. Luckily, we had someone in our group who didn't mind, but it's not great for vegetarians and vegans.

If you make a reservation with Social Del they will cancel it so that they can make more money out of other people! Absurd

Food was very tasty! The servers were sometimes a bit distracted and busy with other things, but not too disruptive.

Service is extremely slow and the table is not cleaned

This used to be an authentic tapas place. Now you see a variety of ‘fusion’ dishes. I found many of the dishes too ‘vatsig’; they really use a lot of oil, mayo and aioli to give the dishes flavour. I would ask if you can get the sauce on the side ;) The service is also good.

Reserved on a Saturday at 18:15. They call to say there is a market and that the terrace is not ready yet. Request to come at 18:45. Eventually at 19:15 our table is ready due to delay in clearing the market. People who have not reserved are also assigned a table. Everyone is served drinks at about the same time. We want to order our food, but the service is very busy, with the result that guests without a reservation eat and are served even earlier than people with a reservation. The service indicates that they will be there soon, but they do not. When the bill is requested, the service comes to take the food at 20:15. Too late. Febo eaten around the corner. So the logistics are not well arranged. We drove from Houten especially to this restaurant.

Eten was ok. Maar .... We hadden gereserveerd, en hadden een tafeltje buiten. Aangezien de zon al aan verdwijnen was konden we naar binnen. We werden boven neergezet, en waren daar de enige. We konden dus los. We werden via de keuken naar onze plaatsen geloodst. Het 1e wat ik zag, is het onhygiënische in de keuken. Smeren ge vloer, kleine keuken, waardoor er eigenlijk te weinig ruimte was om te werken. En erg jong ongeïnteresseerde jongelui in de keuken. De kroepoek lag in n een open bak naast de wc. De wc was trouwens erg smerig. Eten was ok maar, maar de prijs/kwaliteit en hoeveelheid klopte niet. Veel, maar dan ook veel te duur. En de spareribs waren op gegeven moment op. Bier leek trouwens op water. Niet zo'n beste ervaring

We had a very tasty meal here and the service was great! We were a group and had the chef's menu. This included many different dishes. Exceptions such as vegetarian were carefully taken into account. There are also many vegetarian and vegan options, so they are definitely recommended! Worth repeating!

My girlfriend and I had a delicious meal here. We were helped by very friendly people, in particular a very pretty girl with short hair and curls. I will definitely come back here, especially for the curly 20 year old.

Small-scale restaurant Friendly service. Young man with a heart for the business. Food was delicious. Lots of vegan choices!! However, it is pricey if you do not use a discount coupon. We have used social deal voucher.

Pretentieloos plankjes voer !! Sorry maar het menu vd chef is gewoon zielig smakeloos koud fantasieloos Slordige presentatie en zeer matige basis ingrediënten. Gewoon het geld niet waard, kijk even verder als je lekker wil eten.

No more than reasonable. Messy kitchen that you have to walk through to get to your table or toilet. The portions of food are just too small in relation to the price. The service was friendly and smooth.

Had a wonderful lunch here with my foreign guests. Friendly staff and served quickly. Sat inside because of the rainy weather. Inside is quite cozy. You can also sit outside. Ordered a delicious lunch and also a great bite. We ate well and sat well. The toilet is down a flight of stairs, but the toilet was neat. This restaurant is located on a large square.

Had a really great experience. Textbook hospitality from the moment we entered until we left. Brilliantly delicious food, and plenty of veggie/vegan options for those who wanted them. I can recommend the chicken thigh and Korean fried chicken and for dessert the limonchello mouse.

Unfortunately, I wouldn't have come back here for half the price. If you don't know yet what shrinkflation means, you should eat here. The quality was also not great. Definitely too expensive.

Een prachtige dag om nog even op t terras te genieten. En we waren niet alleen. Gaudi zat helemaal volgeboekt en gaandeweg de middag/avond moest het personeel veel mensen helaas nee verkopen. Maar wat hebben wij genoten!! Supervriendelijke bediening, snel en goed eten. We hebben diverse tapas gegeten. Allemaal heerlijk maar de ossehaaspuntjes en korean chicken waren super! Ook het breekbrood met kruidenboter had een origineel tintje. Echt voor herhaling vatbaar dus begrijp de slechte/matige recensies niet en kan mij er totaal niet in vinden!!

On the terrace. I order a salmon sandwich. Well invested, a bit on the bland side. Went looking for salt and pepper to season it a bit. Bread was fresh. 1st drink was ordered quickly. Unfortunately, no one came by for a 2nd round when the food was brought after some time. Shame. Croquette with bread, nothing to complain about. Good! Tasty!

A very nice place to eat. The menu is excellent, many choices.

Very unfortunate, we were very happy to eat here as my friend Gaudi wanted to eat at her namesake restaurant. However, I ordered 1 menu and they "accidentally" put it on the bill twice. Pointed this out but there was nothing they could do about it. Bad service, you can't tap 3 menus for 2 people and then say "yes, but my colleague thought you meant this" and then make your guests pay double. I'm a little angry about it...

Very nice cozy restaurant, price ratio with the food is really great. And tasty, cozy and nice staff, very friendly. There is even a basket with deodorant, tampons and sanitary towels in the ladies' toilet. Will definitely recommend it if you come to Amersfoort!

It was nice and cosy. The staff looks like they love their job en tell you all about it. They can also explain how the food is made, they are also allergy friendly. In my opinion the portions are small even the ribs for tapas.. they tell you it is alot but is was like 5/6 ribs. For half of the price if you would buy it at the rib house so .. that’s something to work on in my opinion. But it is a nice place in the center of Amersfoort.

Food is just ok, nothing special in terms of flavors. Service is terribly slow, but you are very comfortable and the location is great! I would train staff a little more and ensure that all dishes are available. One dish may still be finished, but 4 or 5 at the beginning of the evening... Update: Curious about what was unfriendly on our side😅 and 3 stars seems to me to be sufficient… But good self-reflection is apparently not a strong point

Was here tonight but it was quite sad. Beautiful location and the kids had fun on the square, but that was about it. We got white wine instead of red wine. The red wine we finally got was warm like mulled wine. Much of what we ordered was not available. The wait staff knew how to blow toots. No spare ribs, no minced meat on the nachos, no squid rings. This was only reported after we ordered it. Then we received a message that the entire menu was no longer available because there was a party. A bit strange when your entire terrace is built up and we actually had to laugh at so much amateurism.

Very mediocre food (although you probably can't expect more from a Dutch-Spanish tapas restaurant). Downright bad service, unprofessional to deal with. Waited at least an hour for each next course. Not recommended!

Heerlijk geborreld op t terras met n zalige sangria (rosé). Gaandeweg wat tapas besteld en werkelijk ieder gerecht was lekker. De ossenhaaspuntjes zijn n aanrader!

Food was very tasty and extensive options. Something for everyone. This evening's staff could still use some training, the table was cleared late, dirty glasses from the kitchen and we had to wait more than an hour for the hot tapas.

Finally a restaurant where you, as a vegan, cannot choose from just 1 dish. There is something for everyone and therefore many vegetarian and vegan options, but also meat. The dishes tasted great. We were with a large group for lunch and sat upstairs. Decor was nice, staff was friendly. Maybe it's a bit strange that you almost walk through the kitchen if you have a spot upstairs, but I didn't find it very disturbing. Overall delicious meal!

Great food and a super great atmosphere. Service is very good. I have worked in the catering industry for years. What strikes me is that the staff works together as a close-knit team with a real smile on their faces.

Tonight we spontaneously enjoyed drinks and delicious tapas on the beautiful terrace. The tenderloin tips are highly recommended. Super friendly and hospitable service, nice restaurant!!

Messy, disorganized service, asked after waiting half an hour after our appetizer, arrived but turned out not to have been communicated again 20 minutes later. The response was not friendly when we asked. Finally, after more than an hour, we got our first starter. The 2nd and 3rd courses also took very long and in the end the food was of little value.

Ate for the first time today. I don't often write a review, but this one is certainly justified. A somewhat alternative looking restaurant. The staff was very friendly and had a good laugh. The food was really good! Looked beautiful, fresh, and full of flavor. Enough choice for both vegan and meat eaters. Recommended!

Not too large restaurant with space downstairs and upstairs. To get upstairs you have to go through the kitchen. A strange sensation. The food, on the other hand, is the biggest asset. Much is available vegetarian or vegan. Various small snacks, so something for everyone. And its quality was good. Service is helpful and friendly.

We ate here for lunch, the lunch menu was nice and extensive (many different snacks to choose from). There were also many vegetarian/vegan options. The staff was very friendly and alert.

Soepje was heerlijk. Daarna broodje carpaccio. Brood was uitgedroogd, carpaccio was veel te zenig, niet te snijden en niet weg te kauwen. Geklaagd hierover en er kwam geen enkele reactie. Nooit meer!

Coincidentally, I came by after a meeting, checked Google and saw that there were many vegan options. Glad we came here. Indeed many vegan options, super friendly service, presentation of dishes was good and most importantly... the taste was good. For every vegan who is looking for a great restaurant, this is highly recommended, despite the fact that it is not a 100% vegan restaurant (which is not necessary at all). As far as I'm concerned, they certainly understood it💪🏻🌱. If we are in the area again we will definitely come back. The patatas bravas are always good, here nice and coarsely chopped and potatoes with skin, top. Tasted the oyster leaves and this was a very nice and surprising combination. There was little to complain about the food and the service, although it was not entirely faultless, but it was strange that we found it warm upon arrival, but while eating we suffered from a cold that seemed to come from downstairs.

I definitely don't recommend this. After entering we were escorted upstairs over a staircase that had almost no paint left on it. We ended up in what looked like a kitchen, after which we entered the restaurant area. Everything was very crowded and messy. My plate was missing a piece and the beet salad had no cutlery. I also didn't see any emergency exits anywhere. Furthermore, the food was reasonable and the girl who served was very friendly

I liked that they have vegetarian options, that they marked in the menu, that they accept cash and have WiFi. But the atmosphere feels like very old and needed to be improved (as well as menu).

Pleasant, informal atmosphere and deliciously prepared tapas. Had dinner with our family with younger children. There is something for everyone and we were able to dine for a long time. Take a look at the menu on the website and you will know whether this is 'the place to be' for you.

Ik was best wel geschrokken van een paar reviews, maar daar is niets van waar. Wat een superleuk restaurant! Heerlijk gegeten, grote porties voor tapas vind ik! Normaal gesproken is tapas veel kleiner. Pluspunt was de vega/vegan gedeelte, daar heb ik heerlijk van genoten. Daar zie je in dat er iemand veel aandacht aan heeft besteed. Favoriet waren de parmesan fries en geitenkaaskroketjes, zeker aan te raden. Prijzen vond ik ook meer dan prima (en ik woon zelf in Azië), we waren per persoon evenveel kwijt als waar we overal zouden eten. Fijne sfeer in de tent en aardige eigenaren. Ga zo door! 👏🏼

Ik ben er laatst wezen lunchen met mn vriend. Eerst moesten we heel lang wachten, vervolgens had mijn vriend zn eten al op voor mijn fish en chips kwam. De hele middag ziek geweest en buikpijn van het eten. Geen aanrader.

Erg wisselvallige kwaliteit. Van weergaloos goede ribs tot Koreaanse kip die veel te zout is tot een Griekse salade die is gemaakt van smakeloze tomaten en andere ingrediënten. Personeel heeft totaal geen ervaring en laat je gerust zonder bestek zitten, vergeten überhaupt dat je wilde eten etc.

Heerlijk cocktails op een leuk groot terras met lounge stoelen en banken naast de tafeltjes om lekker te eten.

Gezellig klein restaurant. Je kan zowel beneden als boven zitten. Het eten is heerlijk, mooi opgediend ook! Er word gevraagd naar bijzonderheden zoals o.a. diëten of allergieën. Echt een pluspunt, dit zie ik niet vaak. Het personeel is ook vriendelijk, complimenten voor de serveerster van gisteren avond. Wij komen zeker nog eens!
