If I'm not mistaken, Hotking is located in the former Full Moon building. We went on a Monday evening. There weren't many people there. The nasi is highly recommended.

I really enjoyed the tantan ramen and steamed crab. The atmosphere is also nice. Fresh draft Heineken beer. I will definitely come back. 👍

The food was ABSOLUTELY amazing!!!!!! Every dish was authentic sichuan kitchen and the personnel was so kind. The cold chicken dish is a must try and we enjoyed eating the coquille as well. Will definitely be back.

Tried several dishes for the first time, and everything was delicious. It's a cozy restaurant with a good atmosphere. The prices are reasonable, compared to other restaurants in The Hague. The only downside is the tablet you use to place orders. It was very slow, so it sometimes wasn't clear whether an order had gone through. We once ordered twice, but luckily the staff realized that wasn't the intention.

Absolutely delicious! Great ingredients, and a nice spicy kick! Definitely a great place for Chinese palates, and the waiters are friendly. Lots of locals come here too. Reservations are usually necessary.

Overall decent chinese restaurant that is ready to greet non-Chinese customers. We were very torn between the two places on the street but chose this one as it looked more "interesting". Maybe owing to the time of the day - Friday night - the overall atmosphere was a bit hectic. The server forgot one of the dishes we ordered, and when we were about to cancel it, the last dish was served. Nonetheless, this is a good chinese restaurant. The food tastes good and the portion is quite generous. (bearing in mind the normal food prices in the city, I would argue that the price is not that bad either). Wanton soup was good, and beef braised noodle soup was decent. The server- though he forgot one of the orders - was very polite and pleasant about it. This is something not so common in many chinese restaurants in western Europe. (Having been to 30+ chinese restaurants in 6 countries over the past 5 years, I think I can dare to seni-generalise...). We may come back to try other dishes.)!

Beautifully decorated restaurant. There was a drinks reception on Saturday with many noisy guests, who kept going outside to smoke. The door opened and closed and then opened and closed again. The staff didn't have enough time for the diners. We waited over an hour for Peking duck and pancakes.

I have heard of the reputation of La Wang Fu for a long time, and I went to try it in The Hague this time. The waiter greeted me warmly when I entered the door, and the environment was clean and tidy. The service was worthy of recognition. However, as a restaurant specializing in Sichuan cuisine, the performance of the dishes was really unsatisfactory, and even a little regrettable. Boiled fish: The fish meat was salty, the taste was not fresh and tender enough, the aroma of pepper and bean paste was almost not reflected, and the overall flavor was bland. Twice-cooked pork: Sichuan cuisine's twice-cooked pork is characterized by thin slices in the shape of lanterns, spicy and rich, but the meat slices here are thicker, the aroma of bean paste and chili is insufficient, and the ingredients are so shabby that only a few lonely garlic shreds are left. The four of us had hotpot here. The staff was very friendly and explained which soup he recommended and how we could eat it. The service was excellent and the taste was authentic and delicious. This was the second time we came back. I would like to come again with my family.

Decent Szechuan food in the town. As a 🌶️ lover I opted for extra spicy and it was just very good! The food is on the sweeter side in my opinion but would recommend if anybody is craving for some spicy for the day

The squirrel fish was not good, it was ketchup and pre-fried fish, it tasted like fish and chips. The pork with garlic sauce was not good either, it was the same garlic sauce with pork as the garlic vermicelli scallops, the pork was cut well, but the taste was wrong, it was basically good, but it was not the taste of Sichuan pork with garlic sauce at all. Normal spice was not spicy at all! No spiciness

Fantastic Chinese restaurant in Chinatown The Hague! I come here more often because I think the food and service are good. It's nice that this restaurant still sticks to dishes that are truly Chinese, we are not talking about foe yong hai or babi pangang here. No, here you can really try the dishes that they also have in China. This place takes me back to my home country where I was adopted and my dear family and friends live! I definitely recommend this place!

There is a problem with food safety!! Boiled beef is super strange. There is a lot of cinnamon in it, which is not delicious at all. It is weird to put cinnamon in Sichuan cuisine. Then we gave feedback to the waiter, but she just said it is nothing wrong with the food, and we were the only ones responding to this(a bit arrogant). Not long after, we felt nauseous and vomited. I guessed that the beef was not fresh so put a lot of cinnamon to cover up the taste and smell, or there were other hygiene problems. After eating the boiled beef, I vomited and broke into a cold sweat. The food is unhygienic and not tasty! I am already a regular customer, but this time my experience was very bad!

A fancier and modern chinese restaurant in the neighbourhood, serving authentic and delicious food. Ordering was done through an ipad, service was quick, and quite friendly. The meals are presented really well, will definitely come back here.

Had a great dinner. Portions are very large, we ended up taking almost half home with us. Delicious dishes: cumin lamb was the highlight. Service was quick to arrive (but only via iPad/touch screen).

Spicy Prince's Mansion Now The store is a big bully. The waiter's attitude is a bit neurotic. He must explain the truth clearly to the customer. His attitude is extremely bad and even unbelievable. I would not recommend it.

In the 1990s I lived in China for a number of years where I became addicted to Szechuan cuisine. Especially the 'dry fried beef'. It took decades before I came across a restaurant outside China that prepares this dish - albeit with chicken instead of beef - in the same way. Hot King knows how to match the taste. Really fantastic, even as take-out. The eggplant is also a trip down memory lane. Definitely worth a try!

Interesting presentation of dishes and decor of the room with pleasant background music, nothing special in taste for me, I didn’t like the staff - none of the guests smile, working with a straight face - I don’t think I can recommend this place to my friends and tourists.

Good foods, big portion, nice ambience if compared to other chinese restaurants. We ordered Sichuan Fried Chicken & Sichuan Fish Soup (not sure if the names of the menu are correct lol). Foods warmed us perfectly, especially for very cold days like today (felt like 3°C). It keeps you wanting to eat more and more. Don’t forget to order rice! 4 stars as the price is on the higher side. But we can always take them home. Also note that requesting a container box costs €0.5

Upon arrival we were able to choose a table. I didn't see a coat rack. We each ordered the hot and sour soup and it was very tasty. You can't get more Chinese than that. We had a pot of tea. For the main course, the sea bass with chili oil/medium hot, for two, which was more than enough; very tasty! To our surprise, there was no rice, so we ordered it separately and had to ask for it again. We took what was left in containers. When we visited Hotking for the first time at the beginning of this year, we were nicely welcomed by a host. The current ministry is a bit shy.

Nice, modern decor, amazing presentation of dishes as we walked through the restaurant. Our table ordered, appetisers, seafood dishes and some Gong Bao chicken. All food was very tasty. Gong Bao was normal spice and LOADED with chilis! The green were lightly spicy, the reds were hot! Egg rolls and fried dumplings were ok. Make sure if you want rice to order it. It's not included 😁

This restaurant's boiled meat slices and saliva chicken have a unique flavor, and the background music is perfect. While eating, I felt like I was back in China for a moment.

Had dinner at Hot King for the first time. Beautifully decorated, despite the large space, yet attractive. Order via the tablet. Drinks come quite quickly, but you have to wait a while for the food (which is not a problem). We had stewed eggplant in Yuxiang sauce and chicken cubes in Gong Bao sauce with a bowl of rice. These dishes were very tasty! There are many Sichuan dishes to choose from, the restaurant also has dishes with frog legs, pig ears and beef organs, if you like that, you've come to the right place. But the less 'exotic' eater can also go here! We will be back!

Hot King has fantastic food and the service is usually okay, but not overly friendly. This afternoon, however, we were emphatically ignored by someone from the service who paid a lot of attention to all the other guests. We made a comment about that and were then barked at so loudly that we decided to leave. She shouted after us: “See you next time!”

The restaurant is beautiful, service was good. The food was alright. Great place to host friends and family. Personally, it was a little underwhelming for me only because I felt like it was lacking a little oomph for me. But it was overall a relatively enjoyable experience. We are a party of 4 and are from Asia. In that sense, we are used to food being on the heavier side when it comes to taste. I did particularly enjoy the tofu with crab roe, fried haricots were also nice. Peking duck wrap was nice but the wrappers could be softer. The fish with Chinese sauerkraut did not hit the spot for me but still a decent dish. Would come back to try to fried rice. Looks super good as it was being served to the neighbouring table 😂

Very tasty Chinese Sze Chuan restaurant in the middle of Den Haag's China town. We were a bit early for dinner and there were not many people yet. We ordered via a tablet and we opted for the whole sea bass in red chilli oil. There were three options; little spicy, medium or very spicy. And we decided to go for medium spicy and it was already quite spicy (but not bad spicy). The fish was very well cooked and the gravy was very very tasty. The portions are quite large so it would be a great restaurant for bigger groups of people. The whole fish was already quite large for 2 people. If you are in the vicinity, it surely worth a visit (given that you enjoy spicy food).

I do not recommend this restaurant, the dishes do not match the description on the menu!

Went to Hot King for the first time yesterday. The waitress was very rude, not nice, impatient, she didn't feel like doing her job. I think she is the worst waitress ever, I have never experienced this. She was also racist, she acted normal to the Chinese customers. She said you can leave. I ordered drinks with my sister and she was very rude and not nice. We were in shock, we have never experienced this. We left angry, we didn't feel welcome. She was happy that we were leaving. I will not recommend this restaurant to others. I would have preferred to give you a big 0 instead of 1.

Hot King in Chinatown claims to specialize in Shezuan dishes. Ordering was done via a tablet. Starter was beautifully served. The main course (pork belly with fried rice with shrimp) was quickly on the table. Waiting time for the food was a maximum of five minutes. Shrimp fried rice was delicious. The pork belly was tasty in itself, but I think that after stir-frying they should remove certain ingredients from the dish before serving it, such as allspice grains and ginger. If you chew this, your entire taste will be ruined. The meat itself had too little fat.

Very good affordable Chinese restaurant. If you want real authentic Chinese this is a good place to go, as it offers many traditional dishes. all the dishes we tried were delicious, we especially recommend getting the peking duck and trying their cold cut beef (which you can mix with hot rice to create a very good meal). all these dishes were very inexpensive, so its also a great restaurant for people on a budget!

Went there for dinner last night. Food was decent. Service was horrendous, one of the worst we’ve ever experienced and we eat out all the time. The service level can only be described as non-existent at the best, unfriendly and rude. Not sure if it was just an off night for them or not, but we will not want to eat here again.

Super tasty Asian restaurant. Very tasteful and finished. The only tip I can give is: you get a tablet at your table to place your order. Order dish by dish and not everything at once. Everything is delivered very quickly, and if you order everything at once, your soup, starter and main course will be on the table together. The dishes are also large enough for several people, so order to share, and if you want something else afterwards, just order it again. If they had given us that explanation in advance, we would not have had so much surplus. All in all: RECOMMENDED!

Went here with friends last Saturday and everyone said they would never eat here again. The taste and ingredients are very poor. It's completely different from before. The spicy chicken is stuffed with fried flour, and that's not how it's done at all. What I ordered was spicy chicken, not crispy salted chicken! The ingredients in the dry pot are very confusing. They are all shrimp cake balls from the hot pot. The only shrimps are not fresh when eaten. Several friends got upset when they got home. Never come back. At this level, the Netherlands has much better Sichuan food than this level.

Quite decent Sichuan food. The service and atmosphere were both very good, and the dishes we tried were overall yummy. The fuqi feipian was by far the best dish we ordered and tasted almost as good as the ones I've had in China. The dan dan mian was also quite good but a little too oily for my tastes. The laziji was a bit disappointing (not as flavorful as I was hoping for) but still alright. For my fellow spicy food lovers: I would definitely choose the "extra spicy" option when ordering because I felt like the "normal" level was a bit too mild for my tastes. If I came here again, I would definitely order the fuqi feipian again but skip the laziji and get something else instead. If you're wanting Sichuan food, then this restaurant will definitely satisfy that craving.
