We had a delicious meal here with our family on September 4th; well-prepared, fresh, good quality, very friendly staff, and certainly affordable! Worth repeating, we will definitely come back, we even travel from Alkmaar for it!

We went out for dinner here with family last weekend. I come here once a year myself, but my family comes more often. For the second year in a row, I ended up on the toilet with diarrhea that same evening and subsequently had stomach pain for several days. It was striking that this time, two other people in our group suffered from it as well. Personally, I didn't think the food was great either. It's a bit of a 'big steps, fill you up quickly' kind of place. For example, Chicken Cashew with large pieces of chicken, or the grill where a large pile of lukewarm, already prepared meat/fish is waiting. All in all, no longer recommended for us.

We visited here again today to give it another chance. We had the buffet and I must say, it is a 200% night and day difference compared to last time. Everything tasted really good, there was a lot of choice, and actually, everything was just delicious. I am glad we gave it another chance and would love to come back here again soon. Unfortunately, the experience today was less than last time: confusion regarding the round table, unfriendly staff, and very "Dutchified" dishes—limp and not always warm, bad beer... very disappointing, we are calling it quits for now. With current prices and offerings, you are allowed/required to be critical these days!!

Tasty Chinese food with a Dutch twist. And the advantage of à la carte is that you can chat together while you're at it. Of course, six full menus, including the beer, fit on a single table! Lovely people.

Opening at 5:00 PM, you should be able to do everything by then. At the grill, we were politely asked for a piece of salmon, but with a hand gesture, we said no, at 6:00 PM. And with that same hand gesture, we were told to leave. The food was only half-filled, and the rest arrived at 6:00 PM. I also didn't like being constantly watched. Standing together and chatting with a few others wasn't a pleasant feeling either. If guests arrive at 5:00 PM, I think you should be able to expect a fully stocked buffet. It's always possible that something still needs to be put out, but not when you ask for something and are told to come back at 6:00 PM. The staff were quick to ask for drinks every time, though. Of course, that wasn't included. You should also expect to be able to take a dessert, but that was nowhere to be seen; when we asked for it, we had to take from the menu, as that wasn't included. All in all, very bad. When making a reservation, be sure to mention that the grill doesn't open until 6:00 PM, and that everything is placed together on one griddle. Also, that dessert has to be paid for separately; no, very misleading. I must also honestly say that the food was tasty, but the rest was disappointing. I won't be coming back here either. I do think people should know this before making a reservation.

Went here for dinner with my husband yesterday for his birthday; our expectations were high. The staff was impeccable, they were very nice, hence 3 stars, but the food was very bad. The manager tried to resolve it, but unfortunately, it didn't work out 😕

The food is lukewarm, there is no variety, the staff is rushed, prices have increased incredibly, and it is not a place to eat affordably. It is a shame; they do nothing with reviews, and the service and quality remain poor. If they continue like this, they will go bankrupt quickly.

As a tourist visiting the Netherlands, I was thoroughly impressed by this restaurant. The sushi tastes excellent, and the execution is superb. It’s hard to find an all-you-can-eat buffet that delivers the same premium quality as an à la carte menu, but they nailed it. Exceptional value and taste!"

Fine restaurant, good food, but because it is a buffet restaurant and people are often away from their tables and walking around, it does have some impact on the atmosphere in my opinion.

The outside looks nothing like the inside, it is a really nice restaurant with ambient music. It’s not loud at all and the waiters are very welcoming. The food is very good, except for a few dishes, we will definitely be back. Definitely recommend the sushi :)

Unfortunately, I was very dissatisfied with the service at this restaurant today. This mainly involved a Chinese female employee, around 60 years old, wearing glasses. I was there with a friend, and we had ordered two beers. The employee came to our table and handed one beer to my friend. She then asked about the second beer: “Who is this for?” I indicated that it was for me. My friend then made a lighthearted remark asking if she thought both beers were for him. The employee replied that she thought there was someone sitting next to us. Although this might not have been intended that way, it struck me as strange. After all, nowadays it is quite normal for women to drink a beer too. In my opinion, a more neutral question like “Is this for you?” would have been more customer-friendly. Additionally, confusion arose regarding the senior discount when settling the bill. She was also helping at the cash register. My friend is 66 years old, and we asked if the senior discount could be applied, as we had received it during a previous visit. The employee reacted: senior discount?? Which senior discount? We mentioned that we had received a senior discount of 6 euros last time. "Oh okay," they said, adding: "I hadn't expected you to be a senior." In the end, only a €2 discount was given, whereas on a previous visit we had received a significantly larger discount, while paying less. The food and atmosphere in the restaurant are otherwise fine, but unfortunately, I found the way we were treated today—in this manner—to be neither professional nor hospitable. Therefore, we will likely choose to visit a different restaurant in the future where we feel more welcome. Normally, I do not post negative reviews, but I found this experience disappointing enough to share.

Had a delicious meal. Good atmosphere. One minor downside: it is very noisy; there were several children screaming and crying, making it almost impossible to understand each other, which was a shame.

Unfortunately, very disappointed. The main courses were not of good quality. There was little choice. There was no dessert buffet! Instead, you could buy ice cream for about €8-10. Considering the buffet already costs €35, it's too expensive. Children's meals cost €27. The only really positive thing was the sushi.

The food selection was a bit limited, but the taste was good, the ambiance was especially nice, and the service was excellent. They would come to ask what you needed with just a glance.

Just a good Chinese restaurant. Friendly service. They don't all speak Dutch equally well, but they make up for it with their service-oriented attitude. Not everything was to my taste, but there was something for everyone. I did find the buffet price a bit on the high side for a Chinese restaurant.

An unforgettable experience. Fantastic chefs, very friendly service, and the food was divine. The lava cake dessert was delicious, and the coffee was superb. We'd love to come back to experience this unforgettable atmosphere again.

It was lovely to celebrate my birthday at De Chinese Muur again. The atmosphere is relaxed, and the soft background music makes conversation easy. The buffet offers a wide selection, and the staff regularly pops by to refill drinks. My companions had also turned a year older and were now largely eligible for the age-based discount! We skipped dessert this time (calories) and finished with coffee and chocolates. Hip hip hooray!! 🎉

The bami was very disappointing, it was rock hard from lying there for a long time and almost cold, very small buffet, no desserts, you have to order them separately about the meat, but not to mention a lot of things were not there so never again 🤮🤮🤮

Excellent value for money, super fresh ingredients, and well-stocked platters. The only minor drawback is that it's very warm inside, and you'll want to get some fresh air outside when the smokers are right in front of the entrance. You have to walk through the smoke. They should really have a separate smoking area across the street. The presentation of the entrance is also a bit lacking, as you have to wade through the smoke to get in.

Compared to other Chinese restaurants, this one is above average. February 20, 2026. Update coming soon, but it's better you don't come here anymore; the male manager drives every customer out with his mentality.

Everything was excellent. The atmosphere was wonderful, the staff were very friendly and attentive. The food was delicious and there was a wide variety to choose from, so it was really great overall. I've been coming here since I was 15 or 16, and I'm now 38. It was always good, and I was always satisfied. We came here with large groups and just the two of us. We celebrated Christmas here, so we went quite often. My parents live across the street, so this was always a regular place to go. But unfortunately: never again. Not only will my partner and I never set foot in here again, but our family and friends will too. That's no way to treat regular customers. The last few times I've had takeout, it didn't go well either, and the last time I picked it up, the order was completely wrong (with notes everywhere, etc., that were actually requests). We ended up having to come back and exchange it ourselves. No apologies, nothing at all. Too bad, there were several chances, but now it's really over. This is how you lose more and more regular customers :) See the photos of what didn't have to be included (almost a container full of it) and what she did add. Apart from listening/reading, this is scandalous anyway, you can fill a whole tub with it.

LET THE CUSTOMER BE THE GUARDIAN OF THEIR OWN MISTAKES! I'M NEVER COMING HERE AGAIN. WORTHLESS. After years of regularly visiting the restaurant and also getting takeout, this has finally reached an end. For the second time, they'd added ingredients to an order that I'd specifically asked not to. The first time, I thought, "Save it." But with the next order, I called. Their answer was, "Maybe I'll have a delivery driver in an hour and a half who can exchange the dish." Of course, this is never an option, especially since the other dishes will be cold. I ended up driving back myself (which took half an hour) and exchanged the dish. As a longtime customer, you'd at least get some compensation and an apology. Neither. When I got home, the rest was cold and inedible. Terrible service! There are plenty of other Chinese restaurants that do value their customers.

The food itself was good. A wide variety. But the dessert was a farce. The ice cream had crystallized, so it had been thawed previously. I ordered a mango sorbet but received a fresh fruit sorbet. The ice cream was inedible, the whipped cream was supposed to hide it, and the fruit was rock hard, so it was frozen too. And one scoop of ice cream with whipped cream and some fruit that was inedible, 8.50? Really? I complained, but they said they would take the complaint into consideration. Scandalous.

The food is quite good. The location is quite small, so the menu isn't very extensive. When we were there, it was quite empty. That's just my opinion, but there are better all-you-can-eat restaurants where drinks are included. That's not the case here. Furthermore, the staff was very friendly, and we were seated quickly. For a quick bite, this is the place to be.

Pickup from the Great Wall of China. Excellent food. You can order and pay online, which is really great. The only problem was that we didn't specify a pickup time. We only received it half an hour later. We did receive an apology and an extra-large bag of prawn crackers. And I got the feeling that something had gone wrong because of the large order. By the way, our guests enjoyed the food.

We came again on Boxing Day and certainly have no regrets. The staff was hardworking and friendly. Live music with a very cozy atmosphere where several people even started dancing.

I've been to the Great Wall of China before, but I'll never go there again for Christmas. My first Christmas dinner with the family (18 people) was a real letdown for the Great Wall of China. We had a reservation for 7:30 pm and got our table half an hour later. It was so crowded and chaotic. We were crammed together. If you wanted to get up, you had to climb over your chair. Long lines, and by the time the food arrived, it was gone. The wait was even longer. The chef grilling the meat didn't even wear gloves; the raw meat was put on the grill with his bare hands. Not exactly hygienic. The staff seemed overworked. They'd rather see you leave than come. And when they brought drinks or dessert, there was just shouting. They simply didn't know who had ordered what. So you had to check the receipt very carefully. Something was said about this, but it wasn't really heeded. A Christmas Eve full of excitement.

Disgusting! Exploiters!! It's a terrible restaurant during Christmas. They overcrowd the restaurant. You don't get your table until half an hour later. Communication is terrible, and the staff yells at you. They can't handle the crowds themselves. Food is snatched away right in front of you. You end up eating much less for a lot of money. Furthermore, the dishes are tasteless. Prepared too quickly or not well-made. The staff simply refuses to understand you. Because they know full well they're doing the wrong thing! Absolutely not recommended.

On Boxing Day, 10 of us went out to dinner at the Great Wall of China. It was a fantastic experience! The food and drinks were delicious. And the live music was amazing!

Worst restaurant ever. The exterior looks nice, but that's it! The food is subpar. Old, dry, and tasteless. The meat and chicken were dry and half-raw. The shrimp had no flavor and weren't fresh. Almost nothing was fresh, or at least I could say that or this was good. I left within an hour. I wanted to leave after the first plate, but I think it's a waste. Plus, the buffet is incredibly small, and the best part is that dessert is also charged separately. You have to shout to hear each other. Never again. Christmas Eve ruined, yuck, yuck.

Good food for a reasonable price!

I think I can call this a hidden gem. The place looks old school Dutch Chinese vibe with a modern twist. Staff is super friendly and fast. The buffet for all you can eat is really really good. The sushi rolls are very good, the wok dishes ver tasty (and selection is huge and even changes throughout the evening) toilets very clean, free parking. I'll be back for sure!

For an all-you-can-eat restaurant, I can confidently say they offer a very extensive selection with subtle flavors. From sushi to cold salads, hot soups, fish, and meat dishes, all carefully prepared. Rice, noodles, and delicious stir-fries—it was all there.

I rarely visit a restaurant where it's so pleasant. First of all, the staff, who give you a warm feeling from the moment you arrive. The table service was excellent; nothing is too much trouble. And now for what really matters: the food. What a selection! It doesn't matter what you serve, everything was delicious. I went home feeling very satisfied and happy. Thank you all for the service.

It's a shame that you want to eat teriyaki but the meat and fish dishes are mixed up and if you don't like fish and the tastiest thing in the restaurant is on it, it quickly becomes a disappointment
