Very cute informal ambiance. Great staff and Italian owned which is rare nowadays. The food was obviously made with fresh ingredients. Fresh vegetables, fresh pasta, fresh mozzarella. The taste was amazing. I will definitely return!

The dishes were really good. I am not a big lasagna person but it was good and the serving was huge enough to have a bit of space left for dessert which was even more amazing! love the tiramisu pistachio and hazelnut, a must try!

First what's good; you can't go wrong with the lasagna and the pizza Margherita. Which is very bad; vitello Tonnato, way too salty. The spaghetti E Vongole alle Pugliese, even so bad, almost no taste and you can count the cockles on one hand. The Tiramisu classico, another mismatch, tasted no liquor and the bottom was watery, frozen? We were hopeful given the reviews, but the food is generally very bad. For almost 250 euros you expect an excellent Italian, but unfortunately it has become a major deception.

I like this place due to the fact that is serves very good Italian quisine.Their parmigiana is really amazing. The rest of the dishes are also very tasteful. Service could be a little bit better and more interested in clients' needs. It is always crowded on weekends, so better book the table in advance.

Great palace, really authentic and lovely! I ordered galzone and it was the best one I have had yet! However, the dessert - tiramisu with Nutella and pistachios disappointed me a bit, it was a bit too watery. My friend’s tiramisu was better. I think I just got unlucky. So 5 stars well deserved! Highly recommend 😄

4th time here. Tried Octopus Salad, Bruschetta, Lasagna Bolognese, Pizza Napoli Piccante, Pizza Capricciosa, Orecchietta alla Pugliese (Pasta) - all of them were so delicious, as good as food in Puglia. Highly recommended!

The pizza-dough bread was famous for being very fresh out of the oven and flavorful. Not this time, unfortunately. Everything else was pretty good as always.

Delicious traditional dishes with a southern Italian touch. Normally on the terrace in the summer, but now indoors because of the weather. That was quite noisy, but that also means that it was wonderfully full of customers. No, I really recommend eating here.

Great simple Italian cuisine from Puglia

The service itself was ok, the order was taken quickly and the food came quickly. However, no attention was paid to dishes that were on the menu as daily specials. Most of the staff also seem to have no interest in your arrival. If your glasses are empty while your dishes are being put down, you will not be asked if you would like something to drink. The pasta itself tasted fine, but was far from a la dente. There was no bite to it and it was actually just cooked for too long. The starter cost almost 18 euros per person and contained 3 small dishes, which were okay, but were certainly not of such quality or quantity to ask +- 35 euros for it. The pizza is indicated as “fresh pizza from the brick oven”. However, there is a large aluminum/metal-looking cabinet, which is supposed to represent a “brick oven”. After inquiring about this, the answer was that the brick oven is in the cupboard. Of course, it is fine to use, provided it delivers the same result as the promised brick oven. Unfortunately, the quality of the pizza was not comparable to all other pizzas from the “brick oven” that we have tried in Italy, but also in Amsterdam. The crust was hard and the center of the pizza was soggy. After a few bites we decided not to eat the meal any further. When the waiter came to collect our dishes, we were not asked if everything was to our liking (despite the fact that the plates were almost full) and we indicated that it was not to our liking. The response to this was several times “oh, oh okay” We then went to the cash register and were asked if everything was satisfactory. Indicated here that we had already reported this to the other employee and this was therefore not the case. This employee also responded with “oh sorry” and then she handed us the ATM. In short, Amsterdam has another restaurant richer where making money takes precedence over the satisfaction of the guests.

Tried the 2 course tasting menu: an anti-pasti platter plus 2 kinds of pasta. I was positively surprised by the size of the anti-pasti platter, but otherwise not very impressed by the food. Given the high reviews of Il Re di Puglia, I had high hopes, but don't think I'll come back.

If I cannot drink tap water or have to pay for it (in this case 2 euros for a glass), then I give a maximum of two stars. If a second glass of 2 euros is incorrectly charged to the bill, it will be given 1 star. Furthermore, the place is very OK, but here too you will not find any garlic on the pizza. New trend?

It’s not a good place. Very cheap disgusting wine. Food is average and they actually charge you 2 euros for tab water without mentioning it. I live around the corner in the old south, grew up in Amsterdam so I’ve eaten at most restaurants. I will never ever go back. It’s far below par. Nothing special at all! I would recommend Monte Verde which has better wine, better food, free tab water and amazing prices. Re Di Puglia is an absolute joke, I’m not gonna lie.

No tienen claro el precio al principio sin mencionar que es de 2 euros por persona. Definitivamente es un lugar al que recomiendo no ir. Recomiendo Monte Verde, que tiene mejor comida y mejor vino y agua de tab libre tanto como te guste y el precio es hermoso. No te dejes engañar por lugares como este. Vivo a la vuelta de la esquina en el viejo sur y nunca volveré a este lugar. The experience started of nice, with welcomed by the staff. However, the antipasti and ravioli left a lot to be desired. We still was excited for the dessert and this is where the downfall started for real. The tiramisu was freshly taken out of the freezer and tasted nothing but water and the espresso martini tasted nothing but poorly combined liquor. Once this was communicated we were asked to leave quickly. What a mess. My first review and honestly, the circumstances pushed me.

Il Re di Puglia is a hidden gem! The food is authentic and delicious, and the ambiance is so welcoming that you feel like you are at home. The added touch of homemade limoncello by the lovely owner made the experience even more special.

My friend and I recently had dinner here and we opted for the Chef's Menu. We really like to eat various small snacks. Everything was very tasty. Sitting at Il Re Di Puglia you feel like you are in Italy. The service was also very good. And for a Tuesday evening it was quite busy, which says something!

We celebrated my birthday here with 30 friends. The 3-course menu is highly recommended. Delicious starters such as the bruschetta, parmigiana di melanzane, octopus salad. As a second course we got two types of pasta. Ravioli with truffle and Orecchiette. And then gratinated sea bass from the oven and tenderloin! The staff really pampered us, they are very friendly.

We ate delicious pizzas, certainly the tastiest in Amsterdam. Before we went, the owner Gionathan came to visit us and we received a glass of his homemade Limoncello Gionny L. Very attentive and also tasty.

The restaurant is cozy and typically Italian. There is a warm and cozy atmosphere and the staff are all Italian which is often a very good sign in an Italian restaurant. On the recommendation of the staff, I ordered the home-made special of the day (Ravioli) and it was really delicious. My friend had a lasanga and it was one of the best he had ever eaten and the tiramisu was extremely good. I give this place a 10/10! Price/quality ratio is also really great.

What a nice place this is. We took chef's red blood. Good anti pasti. Very tasty pasta. The fish was a bit dry but the meat made up for it. Recommended.

Had dinner here with my friends yesterday and it was really delicious. Had a delicious variety of anti pasti beforehand and then everyone had a pasta and finished with a sgropinno! Really nice homely atmosphere, we will definitely come back.

Great authentic Italian restaurant in Amsterdam by an Italian family ! Very tasty red house wine, most amazing lasagne I've ever had, and amazing Bruschettas ! Suitable from dates to family dinners, a very cozy environment both in winter and summer. You won't regret it for sure :)

Everything was really good, you can taste the fresh ingredients. Staff is supernice and accommodating, we had an amazing dinner.

Overall the food was quite good, I'd give it a 4.5. because our meat was cold and lacked some salt. Portion size was a little small for the price. The pastas were amazing and the pizzas looked good as well. We ordered the pizza bread as a starter, which was very tasty and had excellent structure. Service on the other hand was quite slow. It took a long time for them to take our order, we had to remind them of our wine, and they didn't check in on us. It took a while to get their attention when we wanted to order something. We didn't get parmigiano with the pastas either, which would have gone well with at least one of the dishes.

There was a pleasant atmosphere, but only shouting conversations were possible. We were placed in the back of the store. Whether we were out of sight or had forgotten, we had to ask after an hour where the food was. The 'meat of the day' dish was served cold just one minute later. Apparently forgotten. What was striking was the lack of side dishes and explanation about the dish (which special meat was this?!), so the meal remained a meager plate of steak strips. Strange and disappointing, especially since it turned out to be one of the more pricey dishes. This mainly seems to be a pizzeria disguised as a restaurant.

Wij hebben echt super lekker gegeten met 6 vrienden. Heerlijk authentiek Italiaans restaurant, goede sfeer. En prima prijs kwaliteit. Het personeel is vriendelijk en denkt mee. De gastvrouw is warm en heeft humor. De ravioli van de dag was echt waanzinnig! Wij komen hier zeker terug.

Hele fijne plek. Leuke bediening. En ik kreeg nog een limoncello aan het einde zonder ervoor te hoeven betalen. Bedankt voor de fijne avond!

The atmosphere is really great there, both inside and outside. We had a very friendly and competent waiter and the food was absolutely delicious. It's definitely not cheap, especially if you add apéritifs and wine, but that's to be expected. The quality is worth it. Vegetarian options are a bit constrained, but they were still extremely delicious. Will very likely come back.

Een prima restaurant maar ze kunnen het grote terras niet aan. Lang moeten wachten terwijl we alleen voor een snelle pizza kwamen. Een deel van het personeel was slecht/niet ingewerkt en maakte fouten. Een restaurant met veel potentie en goed eten! Er moet alleen aan de service worden gewerkt.

Heerlijk italiaans eten, altijd een warm welkom en goede service! Daarnaast hebben ze er de lekkerste home made limoncello en Meloncello.

Locale standard, personale veramente gentile e simpatico. Noi abbiamo mangiato pizza e devo dire che sono state veramente buone, forse meglio di quelle italiane. Mia figlia ha mangiato pasta con tonno (la sua preferita) e veramente cotta bene. Come sentirsi in Italia ad Amsterdam. Complimenti!

Cozy place in a high-end area and the staff is very kind (quite rare in the Netherlands). However, not impressed with the food. It’s definitely not real Italian food. Bruschetta doesn’t need vinaigrette. Where they use the adjective “Pugliese”, it’s not pugliese at all but more Dutch pretending to be Italian. Last but not least, extremely slow in serving from the ordering time.

A local restaurant with excellent pizzas, friendly staff, nice atmosphere, quick service, not rushed. Would recommend
