Dear Sir/Madam, I would like to share my experience with you following our recent visit. Unfortunately, it was very disappointing. The dinner started well, but the main course was very disappointing and, in our opinion, subpar. Furthermore, everything was inconsistent. For example, it was initially indicated that certain dishes were not halal, while the manager later indicated that everything was halal. We found this contradictory information confusing and unprofessional. There was also confusion regarding the house rules. We were forced to hang up our coats because this was supposed to be a rule, while at the same time we saw other guests simply leaving theirs on their chairs. This felt unfair and uncomfortable to us. Due to this combination of points, our experience was unfortunately negative, and we therefore recommend against returning. I hope you will take this feedback seriously and use it to improve our service and communication.

Beautifully decorated, the music was initially enjoyable, but it gradually became louder and louder, ultimately becoming far too loud during dinner, making conversation impossible. The dishes were tasty but small, but very expensive. The service was friendly but sloppy, and they forgot to bring drinks and then doubled the bill. We had to wait over an hour between courses. The dessert menu had apparently run out. We were served something hastily improvised. Not worth repeating.

The restaurant is very nice, and the food is quite good. However, I always got the impression they wanted us gone quickly. During our meal, the waiter kept walking by, refilling our glasses as if they needed to be finished. When we finished eating, the manager came over quite quickly, asking twice within 20 minutes if we wanted anything else. We felt incredibly rushed, even though the restaurant was so quiet. I got the feeling they wanted to close sooner and get us out. Never again, you bitch; it was very uncomfortable and put a dampener on our evening. You're better off eating somewhere else where you feel truly appreciated.

It's best not to make a reservation, because even if you do, you might still end up waiting an hour at the bar. Then, even if they do have a table for you, you might still have to wait another fifteen minutes for the menu (which you'll have to ask the staff member yourself, by the way). I can guarantee you the service is SO awful. I've never experienced such terrible service. We got our appetizers pretty quickly, but then had to wait an hour for our main course 🤣. And then you might get the answer, "They're still working on it." Well, honey, I can guarantee it won't take an hour. Not something we'll be doing again.

Unfortunately, we had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. We had to wait over half an hour before anyone even came to take our order. Upon entering, we asked for a table, but were seated at the bar with the promise that one would become available "in a few minutes," even though the restaurant was half empty at the time. This seemed very strange. Moreover, the atmosphere was cold and not at all welcoming. It may look nice and chic, but without warm service and hospitality, that means little. The prices are very high, but the service and quality are unfortunately far below par. The relationship is completely disproportionate. We won't be back again, unfortunately. The service really needs some serious improvement.

A beautifully decorated, relaxed place with good food, a great menu, and Gerrit, the top sommelier. The only downside is that the fried mussels weren't fried, but, in my opinion, boiled or perhaps stir-fried, and some weren't even cooked through. I won't deduct any points for that, but I would like to have proper fried mussels next time ;-)

I had a business dinner here for 11 people. The ambiance was fantastic, the decor beautiful, and the atmosphere was very chic and trendy. The service was incredibly slow; we had to constantly ask for everything, and we struggled to order drinks. They even skipped me, even though my glass was already empty. Of course, only one other colleague could take orders, but he was nowhere to be seen. It was a real struggle to keep ourselves and our international guests happy and to place orders; this shouldn't be allowed. The staff were completely unsmiling, which is a real shame.

We went last week but were too busy to leave a review. The food was delicious, nothing to complain about, the service could be a bit better! I had to ask for everything. It really bothered me at first, but eventually I just let it go! I hadn't seen my girlfriend for a long time, so we had a lot to talk about, so I kind of forgot about it and got too distracted to focus on the conversation. In short, a beautiful restaurant, and the food was delicious. I ordered a bit too much, so I left with a full stomach 😂 It was truly delicious, my compliments!

Unfortunately, I was very disappointed with my visit. The meat was of poor quality and not properly prepared, even though I paid a lot for it. The menu clearly stated that the meat would be 250–450 grams of grilled meat, but what I received was considerably less than promised. Furthermore, the communication between the restaurant staff and the customers was poor. I felt like the staff didn't want to provide service; they seemed unmotivated and disinterested. All of this made my visit uncomfortable. For the restaurant's prices, you would expect much better quality and service. Unfortunately, this wasn't the case. I will therefore never return.

There were four of us, we asked for a round table but weren't given one because you're only allowed to sit there for groups of five or more. Couples (of two) eventually got those tables. You think, oh well, as long as the food is good. It took 30 minutes to get a drinks menu and 45 minutes for a dinner menu. We finally got our order after barely fifteen minutes. The meat courses were cold, really cold. We sent them back, got new ones... also cold. Then you think, Jesus, I'm going to eat this because I'm starving. When, while clearing the table, they ask if you enjoyed it and you give your honest opinion, they look at you with a smile and say, "Tell me something new!" and walk away. We ordered desserts. Please don't bother. It's absolutely ridiculous. We ended up leaving them. You probably have to keep drinking after your dessert, otherwise you'll be escorted to the cash register as soon as possible with the receipt you didn't even ask for. It's a fun and trendy place to be. If you're just coming for a drink (except for the cocktails, which are all truly awful) or bringing a client you don't particularly like, it's perfectly fine. Just to be clear, this isn't a place to eat. Absolutely not.

We came specifically for the tomahawk on Tuesday. It was perfectly prepared to our desired medium rare. The only thing I found disappointing was that it was the toughest tomahawk I'd ever eaten, but it certainly wasn't bad. And for the price, no complaints. We also loved the one-bite salmon taco. And the skewers were delicious. We thought the service was great. They explained the menu well and had a nice chat. They often stopped by to ask for service. The atmosphere was nice, not too dark, and my table could hear each other well. Would I come back? Definitely, I'll try the other tacos next time!

We were lured by an offer from American Express with free meal for two. We could detect the low ability to deliver and the mediocre quality from we entered the somewhat overdecorated interior with a clear view of the container harbour on the other side of the canal/river. Never the less, we had set off this time for a family occasion, so we decided to take up the offer. The offer was a joke. Especially as I (not my wife and daughter who accompanied me) have shellfish allergy, something that made it impossible for me to order anything on the offered menu. The focus was on supplemental charges, not what was on offer. They did have some steaks on the alacarte menu, so I did not have to leave hungry. Or total order was: Pata Negra, bread with butter. 16 sushi pieces. 3 oysters. 2 steak tartar. Truffle risotto. 1 Ribeye steak with fries and bimi (broccoli) Salmon on pure. Dame Blanch, caramel popcorn and cheese cake with stroopwaffwel. For a total of around 350 euros. The sushi was very good. The tartar was just tasteless, missing salt. The steak was clearly not salted before cooking and blend; however adding salt after serving made it eatable. We nearly gave up and went for desserts at McDonald's, however we ended up trying three different ones that were tasting very good. The main problem remains: You felt that there was a taxi-meter running. It was not an environment where the focus was on customer satisfaction, but a focus on charging as much as possible. The quality was a far cry from what you would expect, and all together there is no way I can recommend this place to anyone; not even my worst competitors.

We had a bad experience. We called to have dinner with three people, but once we arrived at the restaurant, the staff was completely clueless. The woman in the green suit sighed, and we were quickly shown to a table. Once we ordered our food, it didn't take long for it to arrive. What a disastrous experience at Restaurant Kita. From the very first moment, everything went wrong and it just kept going downhill. The cocktails were outrageously bad, with a margarita that was simply undrinkable. When we pointed this out, we received no apology, just a know-it-all staff member who lectured us as if we had no idea what a good cocktail was. His comment that the drink "can't be off the bill because it's already been made" was absolutely ridiculous. Hospitality is apparently an unknown concept here. The replacement cocktail (amaretto sour, see photo) was no better; frankly, it seemed like it had been deliberately made incorrectly. We had no energy for another discussion and simply left our full glass. The food was, if possible, even worse. The sushi tasted like it had come straight from a supermarket buffet container that had been languishing for hours. No freshness, no refinement, no quality. To dare to serve this is simply scandalous. And then there's the service... asking for less salty soy sauce resulted in minutes of silence, until we had to ask again ourselves. They were indifferent, slow, and clearly not interested in their guests. In short: an evening full of frustration, poor service, and terrible food. Restaurant Kita is everything a restaurant shouldn't be. A waste of time and money! You'll never see us back!

We were looking forward to a pleasant evening out, but unfortunately, our visit to Restaurant Kita was quite disappointing. The evening started with cocktails, one of which, a margarita, was absolutely undrinkable. After we politely pointed this out, another employee with a bun and glasses came to our table and explained that "this is how it's supposed to be" and that there's a difference between not liking something and not liking it. This reaction led to an awkward discussion at the table, which felt completely unprofessional. He even indicated that the cocktail shouldn't actually be taken off the bill because "it's already been made." This is incomprehensible to us. That's no way to treat guests. This immediately set the tone for the rest of the evening. A replacement cocktail then arrived, and it seemed like it had been deliberately made incorrectly. To avoid further discussion, we didn't mention it and left the drink. The food was also very disappointing. In our opinion, the sushi could have come straight from a budget table that had been sitting for hours at a lunch buffet. It wasn't fresh or refined at all, which is the least you'd expect at a restaurant like this. We also asked for less salty soy sauce. This seemed like a simple question, but we only got an answer after we asked again, more than fifteen minutes later. All in all, not a pleasant experience. We didn't feel welcome, and the service and quality were subpar. Unfortunately, we won't be back.

Last weekend, we spontaneously went to Kita again, a place we frequent often, including on special evenings with live music. For the second time, we were fobbed off with a high table by the bar, only after insisting. Instead, we had to eat the shared dishes AT the bar. The short waitress immediately told her colleague that she "saw more people arriving" – it was clearly about money. The other woman also indicated there was plenty of room at that moment, so the excuse about reservations was invalid. It's blatantly obvious that this restaurant is only interested in "money guests" and a supposedly exclusive clientele. It was also painfully obvious that the hostesses treat you with less respect if you are of color – the difference in attitude isn't subtle, but confrontational and disrespectful.

My recent visit to this restaurant was disappointing. We had to wait a very long time for our dishes. The beef tataki had a strange colour and taste (see photo), which is why I had to send it back. To my surprise, the dish was still on the bill. We also ordered chicken gyoza, but got a vegetarian version. Since the taste was okay, I ate it anyway. When I pointed this out, nothing was done about it. The service was poor; the staff seemed unable to come up with solutions. Even after voicing my complaints, nothing was done about it. All in all, a bad experience.

We had made a reservation by phone at Kita yesterday around 5:30. Once we arrived, we were immediately received in an unfriendly manner. The man behind the counter - who apparently normally works in the kitchen, given his clothing - looked at us in a particularly nasty and disdainful manner, especially my husband. When we indicated that we had made a reservation, he said with a dirty look that my husband was not allowed in because he was wearing Nike tech fleece. Excuse me? We have eaten here so often and he has worn that more often, nothing has ever been said about it. We pay well over €250 for every visit, and now we are treated so disrespectfully and discriminatorily? The atmosphere was already cold and empty, but this beat everything. We will never come back here, and will also advise everyone in our area not to ever go to Kita again. As far as we are concerned, a place that only values ​​customers if they fit into a certain picture. Scandalous treatment. Unbelievable that this is still happening in 2025.

Kingsnight with DJ La Fuente! Dinner and party evening at Kita with DJ La Fuente! We had a delicious meal, but due to the crowds the dishes were different than we are used to! Unfortunately, some dishes were served cold... the DJ played a little on the loud side during dinner so you couldn't hear each other... otherwise we had a nice meal and a fun party evening! Even though it was a bit too busy for us, so you were crammed on top of each other!

After a night out for dinner we decided to have a drink here. We were received well and friendly. Once we were seated, it took 15 minutes before we could place an order. Not very long at all. We had a reservation for 9:00 PM on Valentine's Day, but unfortunately this was quite late, so we could only be seated at our table after 45 minutes. Once at the table it took a while for someone to come to us, and we were only given the drinks menu. We had to ask for the menu for the food ourselves. We ordered, among other things, a bottle of wine, and what we are normally used to is that the staff regularly checks whether your glass needs to be refilled. That was not the case here, so at one point we had to pour our own glasses. Fortunately, the starter came quite quickly, within 10 minutes, but the main course, on the other hand, took a very long time. We had to wait at least half an hour, and around a quarter to 11 we were still waiting for our food, even though we had been sitting at the table since a quarter to 10. The service really left a lot to be desired. The staff seemed to pay little attention to the guests. They did offer us extra champagne as an apology for the long wait, but that only came after 45 minutes. All in all I was not completely satisfied with the service. Hopefully this will be paid more attention to in the future.

Was busy, of course Valentine's Day... But in the end we were seated and it took 45 minutes before we were offered a card, so we asked for one ourselves. In the meantime, everything was brought to our table, but it wasn't our food... It turned out that 2 chefs were sick and they had to make do with 3, completely understandable, but let your customers know. I mean a table at half past nine and your food only at half past ten is not very nice.. We finally ordered a dessert for which we had to wait 30 minutes and our receipt was also lost. All in all, the food we ate was great, tasted good, so praise for the chefs, but the rest was just a shame. The only apology we received was because the receipt was lost and we had to wait again to pay. Unfortunately, not a very positive evening for us on our wedding day. It's a shame that this is our first experience... because Kita is so well regarded.

In one word fantastic! I was a bit skeptical given some of the reviews, but in my opinion these are completely unjustified. The reception, friendly, hospitable, you immediately feel welcome. The hostess thought carefully about the table since we preferred a round table, we started at the bar and then we could take a seat at a round table. The food is great, you pay a bit more, but that is logical given the dishes, the ambiance, etc. Afterwards, the same hostess (small lady, blond hair) neatly put our coats on and asked very kindly if everything was to our liking. I really hesitated between 3 or 4 stars as an overall rating, but I opted for 3 stars anyway. Kita is a large and trendy restaurant with an extensive menu, from Sushi, Shared dining to the chef's surprise menu. They also have a very extensive wine list. The operation is generally smooth and correct. There are a lot of people serving, so it varies greatly with who you have at the table. If you look at the menu and wine list, you can make it as expensive as you want at Kita, but after an evening of eating and drinking it is never really cheap. That's not a problem if the quality is really good and that is not always the case. There are some really tasty dishes, but the next dish can be a disappointment, at least if you take the shared dining dishes. As a result, your Kita's enthusiasm swings from top to bottom during an evening and that is a shame. It should also be noted that the atmosphere was good, despite the fact that it is a really large restaurant with the risk of feeling like a 'food barn', which was not the case with us. The DJ present also created a relaxed atmosphere. We will definitely come back and try other things on the menu and know in advance which dishes we will definitely not order.

I had dinner at Kita on Friday December 27, I am not at all satisfied with how the lady at the cloakroom works. When I entered I did not feel welcome. There was a standoffishness and coldness in her attitude that did not match how other guests were greeted. I also got the same feeling when leaving the restaurant, as if I shouldn't have been there in the first place. It is difficult to name this, but I cannot help but feel that my origins have something to do with this. This is a painful feeling and something you don't expect at a restaurant known for hospitality and good service. I hope Kita management takes this seriously and pays attention to it. Everyone deserves to feel welcome and respected, regardless of background or origin. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case for me this time.

We made a reservation and were warmly welcomed upon arrival. Our coats were immediately taken and we were guided to our table for 2 by a very friendly host. Shortly afterwards, very friendly and polite waitress asked what we wanted to drink as an aperitif. Ordered a 5 course dinner and the courses were then served quickly one after the other. (Time frame in about 2 hours) We kept checking and asking whether we still had enough to drink, very attentive and service-oriented. Dishes were refined, a feast for the eyes, but also very tasty. In short: a very successful evening during our first experience with Kita. What could be better: - music volume was really too loud and especially after 9:00 PM. You could no longer talk to each other (and that on Christmas Day, when people want to talk to each other), it was so loud. You could no longer understand the controls. Tip: create multiple sound zones so that you can regulate the volume per zone. - incorrect drinks on the bill.

We recently had dinner at Kita with a group of 10 people, but the experience did not meet the expectations associated with a restaurant in this price range. The service was chaotic from the start. Despite clear instructions from the organizer, the waitress was more concerned with insisting on ordering extra bottles of water and bread than with following through with the agreements. This gave an awkward start to the evening. In addition, both starters and main courses were served at the same time, despite our request to bring them separately. This led to a disorganized meal experience. To make matters worse, the food was lukewarm, as if it had been under a warming lamp for too long. An incident where soup was spilled on a guest was not handled professionally. While mistakes can happen, there was a lack of a sincere apology or resolution. For the prices Kita charges, you can expect impeccable service and refined hospitality. Unfortunately, both the service and the quality of the dishes left much to be desired.

Kita looks spectacular. Fantastically beautiful interior. Really nothing to complain about. We had a surprise menu. However, it wasn't exactly a surprise, more of a disappointment. The entree, a bisque, was served in a white coffee cup without a saucer or spoon. When I indicated that this was a bit strange for a restaurant, the waiter went to the back and brought the same thing but with lobster soup. The spoon that came with it was larger than the coffee cup itself. The manager came and agreed with us completely. A new dish was made and the cook brought it to the table. Very neat and the dish was very tasty. The other dishes where fine but very small portions. Tuna starter were 2 small bites. Main course beef steak, was tasty but with a lot of fat. The waitress poured water into my wine glass. Said sorry and wanted to leave. When I indicated I would like another wine! I did get it, she didn't do this on her own. All in all, the food was very messy and not worth the money. I got sick during the night while spitting up, or is it because of the food? No idea...As other reviews confirm: there is more attention for the entourage than for the customer and the food itself. When paying, something went wrong with the receipt (received another table), then my change was thrown loose on the table (literally) Not on a saucer or the like. With our experience I wouldn't go back again sorry, not value for money!

Made a reservation at 8 p.m., then got dumped in a corner and had to wait, only to be seated at a table more than 40 minutes later. Staff doesn't communicate, you actually have no idea why you are waiting. There were several guests with us who all still did not have a table at least 30 minutes after their reserved time. Music at the location is really loud, if you want a fun evening with your loved ones, definitely don't go here because you are really screaming. In addition, I had the strong feeling that this is a location where people come because of the see/seen principle, so that should be just the case. In terms of food, nothing to say because we just left because of the long wait and ate at II Mercato (that's wrong!). We were treated very kindly here and Kita's staff could still learn something from this.

The price level of food and drinks is much too high. One glass of rosé was €9 and there was no other rosé available. The lunch menu was cold. There were Blinis instead of asparagus and these were very wooden. Plates were cold, so the food was lukewarm. More attention was paid to setting tables than to the customer. I had high expectations, partly because of the price level and the quality offered. This really needs to be much better for this price range. If the food were good, you would of course be prepared to pay the high price for it, but that is really not the case here.

However, our experience during our visit this evening, 11/22/2024, unfortunately left us very disappointed. We had a reservation for 7:30 PM, but had to wait more than half an hour at the bar before we were escorted to our table. This raises the question of what is the point of a reservation if we still have to wait so long. During our dinner we had to ask several times for our drinks: the wine was only brought after two requests, and for a tonic we even had to ask four times. In addition, our table wobbled, and we had to ask attention for this several times. To make matters worse, the table was not cleaned when we moved on to dessert. This is not only unprofessional, but gives us the feeling that attention to the customer is lacking. What also surprised us was that your employee did not ask afterwards if everything was to your liking. This is a basic principle of hospitality and customer focus, which was completely missing here. Christmas is a time for giving, but after this year, we're giving up our tradition for the Heeren van Ambacht. Unlike previous years, this year's Christmas menu was a "shared dining" experience. When making our reservation, we specifically asked if the portions were "large enough to share." We were assured they would be, but the reality was different. With the amuse-bouche and appetizer, you could get away with it, but after the entrée, main course, and dessert, it felt more like a tasting. For a full Christmas dinner (with these portions), we felt like we should have had four more courses. After expressing our dissatisfaction, a free drink was the only offer. A shame, because you want more food, not more drinks. Apparently, the staff, from above, were also left empty-handed. We're not talking about price/quality here, but price/quantity. You felt bad for the company if you took a little more of a dish. The only thing truly shared that evening was dissatisfaction, as another table shared the same opinion about the size of the portions. We went home feeling unsatisfied for Christmas. On a positive note: the staff was, as usual, excellent and friendly, and the dishes tasted excellent.
