Restaurant KITA in Wijk 05 De Oevers

One of my favorite restaurants. It was great to be there again, and the bartender even made me a special cocktail—delicious!

Last weekend, we spontaneously went to Kita again, a place we frequent often, including on special evenings with live music. For the second time, we were fobbed off with a high table by the bar, only after insisting. Instead, we had to eat the shared dishes AT the bar. The short waitress immediately told her colleague that she "saw more people arriving" – it was clearly about money. The other woman also indicated there was plenty of room at that moment, so the excuse about reservations was invalid. It's blatantly obvious that this restaurant is only interested in "money guests" and a supposedly exclusive clientele. It was also painfully obvious that the hostesses treat you with less respect if you are of color – the difference in attitude isn't subtle, but confrontational and disrespectful.

My recent visit to this restaurant was disappointing. We had to wait a very long time for our dishes. The beef tataki had a strange colour and taste (see photo), which is why I had to send it back. To my surprise, the dish was still on the bill. We also ordered chicken gyoza, but got a vegetarian version. Since the taste was okay, I ate it anyway. When I pointed this out, nothing was done about it. The service was poor; the staff seemed unable to come up with solutions. Even after voicing my complaints, nothing was done about it. All in all, a bad experience.

Went to eat at Kita yesterday. The food was delicious and it looked very nice inside. However, it took 45 minutes before we got the menu and 1.5 hours before we got the first share dishes. One employee did his best for us but we were not seen otherwise.

Too many staff who don't care about the guests. I got my 🍷 wine after my food was finished. People who are very irritated waving and then just leave. Piece of meat without any vegetables very strange. Too bad not a second time.

The restaurant itself has a luxurious feel. We had a nice meal and the dishes were beautifully presented, but they were all on the pricey side.

We had made a reservation by phone at Kita yesterday around 5:30. Once we arrived, we were immediately received in an unfriendly manner. The man behind the counter - who apparently normally works in the kitchen, given his clothing - looked at us in a particularly nasty and disdainful manner, especially my husband. When we indicated that we had made a reservation, he said with a dirty look that my husband was not allowed in because he was wearing Nike tech fleece. Excuse me? We have eaten here so often and he has worn that more often, nothing has ever been said about it. We pay well over €250 for every visit, and now we are treated so disrespectfully and discriminatorily? The atmosphere was already cold and empty, but this beat everything. We will never come back here, and will also advise everyone in our area not to ever go to Kita again. As far as we are concerned, a place that only values ​​customers if they fit into a certain picture. Scandalous treatment. Unbelievable that this is still happening in 2025.

Kingsnight with DJ La Fuente! Dinner and party evening at Kita with DJ La Fuente! We had a delicious meal, but due to the crowds the dishes were different than we are used to! Unfortunately, some dishes were served cold... the DJ played a little on the loud side during dinner so you couldn't hear each other... otherwise we had a nice meal and a fun party evening! Even though it was a bit too busy for us, so you were crammed on top of each other!

After a night out for dinner we decided to have a drink here. We were received well and friendly. Once we were seated, it took 15 minutes before we could place an order. Not very long at all. We ordered a total of 4 drinks for which we waited 50 minutes. Even after asking a few times where our drinks were, we kept getting the answer that they were coming. In my opinion, the drinks were quite expensive when looking at the quality. We didn't try any food as we only went there for some drinks I really liked the DJ! And he was having a great time himself. Nice addition.

After arrival, neatly received wine list, asked for a verdejo of 35 euros, selected when the sommelier came, he tried to recommend the more expensive wines, too bad he came back with the verdejo, poured the 5 glasses without letting anyone taste it, which is strange for a sommelier, no longer considering this evening's food was reasonable, only the sushi was disappointing, while the times here were very good, but it was a successful evening, the music could also be a little less so that you can understand each other in conversation apart from Walter.

If you are used to Encore in Scheveningen, this is a ball tent. Drinks take a long time, food takes a long time and the performance starts at half past eight, so much too early if you want to order food, because that is not possible during a performance.

Nice restaurant, nice atmosphere and good chairs. Food is good...we had the 4 course menu. It is the quantity you expect at fine dining, so they are small dishes. The price for all this is on the high side. A small appetizer with the menu would have been welcome. Nevertheless, we had an excellent meal.

What a terrible... place, 2 hours waiting for my food, now on the way to McDonald's.... the only one who performs well is Dillen from the bar.

We had a reservation for 9:00 PM on Valentine's Day, but unfortunately this was quite late, so we could only be seated at our table after 45 minutes. Once at the table it took a while for someone to come to us, and we were only given the drinks menu. We had to ask for the menu for the food ourselves. We ordered, among other things, a bottle of wine, and what we are normally used to is that the staff regularly checks whether your glass needs to be refilled. That was not the case here, so at one point we had to pour our own glasses. Fortunately, the starter came quite quickly, within 10 minutes, but the main course, on the other hand, took a very long time. We had to wait at least half an hour, and around a quarter to 11 we were still waiting for our food, even though we had been sitting at the table since a quarter to 10. The service really left a lot to be desired. The staff seemed to pay little attention to the guests. They did offer us extra champagne as an apology for the long wait, but that only came after 45 minutes. All in all I was not completely satisfied with the service. Hopefully this will be paid more attention to in the future.

Nice restaurant, food was tasty too. It is very annoying that every time someone removes the plates from your table when there is still food on them. It is not possible to eat quietly here because if you tell them to leave the plate, they look at you strangely. Unfortunately my husband now also has food poisoning since last night. What was supposed to be a really great evening was unfortunately disappointing. It started well, coats were neatly accepted and we were allowed to wait for our table. Was busy, of course Valentine's Day... But in the end we were seated and it took 45 minutes before we were offered a card, so we asked for one ourselves. Finally ordered something, the oysters already took an hour, then we had to wait almost 2 hours for the rest of our food. In the meantime, everything was brought to our table, but it wasn't our food... It turned out that 2 chefs were sick and they had to make do with 3, completely understandable, but let your customers know. I mean a table at half past nine and your food only at half past ten is not very nice.. We finally ordered a dessert for which we had to wait 30 minutes and our receipt was also lost. All in all, the food we ate was great, tasted good, so praise for the chefs, but the rest was just a shame. The only apology we received was because the receipt was lost and we had to wait again to pay. Unfortunately, not a very positive evening for us on our wedding day. It's a shame that this is our first experience... because Kita is so well regarded.

In one word fantastic! I was a bit skeptical given some of the reviews, but in my opinion these are completely unjustified. The reception, friendly, hospitable, you immediately feel welcome. The hostess thought carefully about the table since we preferred a round table, we started at the bar and then we could take a seat at a round table. The food is great, you pay a bit more, but that is logical given the dishes, the ambiance, etc. Afterwards, the same hostess (small lady, blond hair) neatly put our coats on and asked very kindly if everything was to our liking. I recommend Kita to everyone!! Aicha

Top service, cozy atmosphere! The food was just unpalatable and so disgusting 🤢 The sushi stuck together and looked like porridge. The scallop was full of mayo and cheese with much too strong a taste. The fries were cold. In short, the food was inedible.

I really hesitated between 3 or 4 stars as an overall rating, but I opted for 3 stars anyway. Kita is a large and trendy restaurant with an extensive menu, from Sushi, Shared dining to the chef's surprise menu. They also have a very extensive wine list. The operation is generally smooth and correct. There are a lot of people serving, so it varies greatly with who you have at the table. If you look at the menu and wine list, you can make it as expensive as you want at Kita, but after an evening of eating and drinking it is never really cheap. That's not a problem if the quality is really good and that is not always the case. There are some really tasty dishes, but the next dish can be a disappointment, at least if you take the shared dining dishes. As a result, your Kita's enthusiasm swings from top to bottom during an evening and that is a shame. It should also be noted that the atmosphere was good, despite the fact that it is a really large restaurant with the risk of feeling like a 'food barn', which was not the case with us. The DJ present also created a relaxed atmosphere. We will definitely come back and try other things on the menu and know in advance which dishes we will definitely not order.

Ordered tournedos, you only get a bowl of fries, a bit poor for that price.

It is definitely NOT worth it to come and eat here. It looks beautiful, but unfortunately the quality of the food is not what you expect. I prefer to go to a harbor club for the same ambiance and menu, where the food is tasty and well cooked.

Friday, December 27, my friends and I were poorly received by the hostess. We ourselves think that this was due to descent. We were ignored & given dirty looks, which I don't expect at all from a place like this. I hope that the staff will be held accountable for this

This was like a restaurant from Dubai but in The Netherlands. Over the top decor which creates a club vibe. I recommend getting a reservation because the place was packed. I had a nice time catching up with friends who I haven’t seen since 2019. The dishes were a bit hit and miss. Great sushi but lousy dumplings and chicken karaage. I had dinner at Kita on Friday December 27, I am not at all satisfied with how the lady at the cloakroom works. When I entered I did not feel welcome. There was a standoffishness and coldness in her attitude that did not match how other guests were greeted. I also got the same feeling when leaving the restaurant, as if I shouldn't have been there in the first place. It is difficult to name this, but I cannot help but feel that my origins have something to do with this. This is a painful feeling and something you don't expect at a restaurant known for hospitality and good service. I hope Kita management takes this seriously and pays attention to it. Everyone deserves to feel welcome and respected, regardless of background or origin. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case for me this time.

What happened to my girlfriend today. I don't like to draw the card, but it just leaned towards racism. If you, as an employee, want to talk about a guest, make sure you don't have such a loud voice...

I made a reservation for tonight with a friend. Left without ordering anything. Upon arrival, an employee makes a comment about what my girlfriend looks like. Then the table we have been sitting at for less than 5 minutes suddenly turns out to be reserved. We are guided somewhere into a corner where no one is sitting. Got up and walked away. What a bad tent that is!! Customer friendliness will never be hard to find again.

We made a reservation and were warmly welcomed upon arrival. Our coats were immediately taken and we were guided to our table for 2 by a very friendly host. Shortly afterwards, very friendly and polite waitress asked what we wanted to drink as an aperitif. Ordered a 5 course dinner and the courses were then served quickly one after the other. (Time frame in about 2 hours) We kept checking and asking whether we still had enough to drink, very attentive and service-oriented. Dishes were refined, a feast for the eyes, but also very tasty. In short: a very successful evening during our first experience with Kita. What could be better: - music volume was really too loud and especially after 9:00 PM. You could no longer talk to each other (and that on Christmas Day, when people want to talk to each other), it was so loud. You could no longer understand the controls. Tip: create multiple sound zones so that you can regulate the volume per zone. - incorrect drinks on the bill.

Very nice tent. You can always find something to complain about (judging from previous reviews). This place has an innovative appearance and the food is good. Don't expect to have a ringside seat here for a duppie. Bring your time and a well-filled wallet and you will have a great evening.

We recently had dinner at Kita with a group of 10 people, but the experience did not meet the expectations associated with a restaurant in this price range. The service was chaotic from the start. Despite clear instructions from the organizer, the waitress was more concerned with insisting on ordering extra bottles of water and bread than with following through with the agreements. This gave an awkward start to the evening. In addition, both starters and main courses were served at the same time, despite our request to bring them separately. This led to a disorganized meal experience. To make matters worse, the food was lukewarm, as if it had been under a warming lamp for too long. An incident where soup was spilled on a guest was not handled professionally. While mistakes can happen, there was a lack of a sincere apology or resolution. For the prices Kita charges, you can expect impeccable service and refined hospitality. Unfortunately, both the service and the quality of the dishes left much to be desired.

Kyan is a really great bartender at Kita Hendrik-Ido-Ambacht! He knows exactly what you want, makes delicious cocktails and always has a smile on his face. Top service and a cozy atmosphere - I will definitely come back here soon!

In one word, the evening was fantastic. The waitress was friendly and served us well. The chef cooked extremely well. True taste sensations were presented. A DJ was playing next to us, which made it complete in addition to the beautiful interior. We enjoyed it and will definitely come back.

Kita looks spectacular. Fantastically beautiful interior. Really nothing to complain about. We had a surprise menu. However, it wasn't exactly a surprise, more of a disappointment. The entree, a bisque, was served in a white coffee cup without a saucer or spoon. When I indicated that this was a bit strange for a restaurant, the waiter went to the back and brought the same thing but with lobster soup. The spoon that came with it was larger than the coffee cup itself. The manager came and agreed with us completely. A new dish was made and the cook brought it to the table. Very neat and the dish was very tasty. The other dishes where fine but very small portions. Tuna starter were 2 small bites. Main course beef steak, was tasty but with a lot of fat. The waitress poured water into my wine glass. Said sorry and wanted to leave. When I indicated I would like another wine! I did get it, she didn't do this on her own. All in all, the food was very messy and not worth the money. I got sick during the night while spitting up, or is it because of the food? No idea...As other reviews confirm: there is more attention for the entourage than for the customer and the food itself. When paying, something went wrong with the receipt (received another table), then my change was thrown loose on the table (literally) Not on a saucer or the like. With our experience I wouldn't go back again sorry, not value for money!

Made a reservation at 8 p.m., then got dumped in a corner and had to wait, only to be seated at a table more than 40 minutes later. Staff doesn't communicate, you actually have no idea why you are waiting. There were several guests with us who all still did not have a table at least 30 minutes after their reserved time. Music at the location is really loud, if you want a fun evening with your loved ones, definitely don't go here because you are really screaming. In addition, I had the strong feeling that this is a location where people come because of the see/seen principle, so that should be just the case. In terms of food, nothing to say because we just left because of the long wait and ate at II Mercato (that's wrong!). We were treated very kindly here and Kita's staff could still learn something from this.

Beautiful interior! Bar staff very friendly and cocktail was delicious! The food is also tasty, beautifully presented, but not much, and very expensive if you look at what you get. The staff seemed to have no idea about the menu. When we asked whether the 4-course menu was a good choice, she indicated that she had no idea. When we asked whether the courses were recommended, she shrugged her shoulders. Music: way too loud, an evening of catching up with friends meant an evening of screaming at each other to make yourself understood. Impression: hip place, where many young people come to see and be seen.

The price level of food and drinks is much too high. One glass of rosé was €9 and there was no other rosé available. The lunch menu was cold. There were Blinis instead of asparagus and these were very wooden. Plates were cold, so the food was lukewarm. More attention was paid to setting tables than to the customer. I had high expectations, partly because of the price level and the quality offered. This really needs to be much better for this price range. If the food were good, you would of course be prepared to pay the high price for it, but that is really not the case here.

However, our experience during our visit this evening, 11/22/2024, unfortunately left us very disappointed. We had a reservation for 7:30 PM, but had to wait more than half an hour at the bar before we were escorted to our table. This raises the question of what is the point of a reservation if we still have to wait so long. During our dinner we had to ask several times for our drinks: the wine was only brought after two requests, and for a tonic we even had to ask four times. In addition, our table wobbled, and we had to ask attention for this several times. To make matters worse, the table was not cleaned when we moved on to dessert. This is not only unprofessional, but gives us the feeling that attention to the customer is lacking. What also surprised us was that your employee did not ask afterwards if everything was to your liking. This is a basic principle of hospitality and customer focus, which was completely missing here. Considering the amount we paid, we are very disappointed with this service. It is clear to us that customer focus is not currently of paramount importance at Kita restaurant. On Saturday evening, October 26, the four of us ate here for the first time and certainly not for the last time. The food was great and what an atmosphere!! Insanely beautiful decor. The bartender Dylan in particular knows how to turn it into a party, what a catering tiger he is. We will definitely come back here regularly.

A beautiful restaurant in terms of design and location, we had lunch here. It was certainly not busy, but the service still took a long time without any visible reason. Service and host were very nice. In terms of food, I expected a bit more from the name, nothing special but just okay, the sushi is much better compared to the regular lunch dishes. Furthermore, there is a beautiful terrace on the water where you can relax in the sun.

Never waited so long for lunch in my life…. Just ridiculous. How difficult is it to hand over the card immediately upon arrival instead of taking the order 30 minutes later?

This restaurant is in a nice location and has a very nice interior/decor. I had gone here for my birthday dinner with 14 people. The space we were given was very tight, we had to slide under a table or the table to go to the toilet. This was no problem, 67 euros were paid per person for the shared dining concept. The portions were very small and we received 1 portion that had to be shared between 4 and 5 people. We do the shared dining concept every year at different restaurants and have never experienced that you get so little for the amount you pay. As the evening progressed, fish was freshly prepared for a table behind us, but because it was so tight. No one at our table could get past it, and friends at my table who were allergic to fish also did not have a pleasant experience. As for the staff, there were some who were hospitable, but also some whose facial expressions were stormy. When paying, there were still things on the receipt that we had not consumed or asked for. Also be careful if you, as an Islamic person, eat there, my friend ordered a non-alcoholic drink and still received it with alcohol. However, the staff did not make any effort to replace it and also did not make any effort to change the receipt. After the birthday dinner we were all still hungry and had to order fast food, which is a shame when you have already spent 67 euros excluding drinks. In summary, I would come here for a date or dinner with 3 at most 4 people. But I definitely won't come here again for a birthday dinner.

A nice restaurant, food was good, but we were with 2 children and could not order fries. Finally, after 3 attempts, we managed to get fries and bitterballen on the plate. I wanted to order the 3-course menu, but then the rest of the group had to do the same. Incomprehensible, poor service from this business. We will definitely never eat here again. Lost a lot of money and a lot of annoyance!!!

Very beautiful interior, delicious food and cocktails. We ordered a steak platter for two, it was really a great steak! Waiters were kind, but seemed very unexperienced. In my home country a classy restaurant would have mature waitors who know the dining etiquette.

The food was okay, but not special. The service was poor, we had to ask several times if we could order something. Fries came at the same time as the starter. Drinks very late. The guests at the table next to us were served at their beck and call, apparently there is a preference. I have never eaten out so expensively and had such a bad experience.

The food was very good. Service left a lot to be desired. (it was on a Friday evening) but a lot went wrong. some of the issues: It took half an hour before we even received a menu. Drinks were forgotten several times, dishes came in wrong order, wrong dishes came. Had to ask for the bill 3 times Service was friendly, but too much went wrong. Music is also very loud.

Had dinner here with friends from Zwijndrecht. Beautiful restaurant and friendly welcome by Lotte. Starter taken outside but it got a bit chilly and we were able to move inside without any problems. We didn't even have to bring our own glasses. Wide choice and delicious food. Beautiful interior. Too bad it's a bit further away for me because this is highly recommended.

Service is top notch, other restaurants should follow suit. You sit relaxed and at ease. Delicious food and delicious cocktails. The only thing that was a shame was the table where we sat, opposite the bar where cutlery, empty glasses and plates are collected.

Stopped here for lunch a while ago. Interior is nice but similar to most of the same concepts. Reception was not great, you notice that the staff is selective, which is a shame. Food was fine, we had a pokebowl, which was good! Steak tartare, this one was nothing special. Rib fingers were tasty and truffle fries nothing special. Cocktail was good, nice served with poppings, slightly different from the other tents. Parking is easy, you have a beautiful view over the water. The two of us spent about 80 euros for lunch. We will definitely try dinner here again. Hospitality improvement point.

It is a very nice and warmly decorated restaurant. we had share dining. Quality and preparation top notch. Portions were on the small side. We weren't really satisfied when we left. The prices are on the high side. The prices of the wines are really over the top. €30 for a simple Pinot Grigio is way too much. Unfortunately the DJ is not much / Staff is friendly but not really attentive (attentive), do not check whether your glass / bottle is empty. In summary: it was fun but not worth repeating at these prices.

Ate here on Friday evening. Luckily we could sit outside because the music was very loud inside. There were people smoking outside, almost directly behind your chair (who were having drinks inside). Amazing Experience at Restaurant KITA We recently visited Restaurant KITA for the first time and had an absolutely wonderful time. We initially stopped by for a few drinks, but the fantastic atmosphere and friendly staff made us want to stay longer. The team at KITA truly understands the essence of great service and hospitality. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and attentive service. The staff made us feel right at home and ensured that we had everything we needed throughout our visit. The ambiance of the restaurant is perfect for a relaxing evening out, whether you're there for drinks or a full meal. The decor is stylish, and the vibe is welcoming and comfortable. Delicious food in a beautiful location

Top atmosphere, absolutely well thought out interior design, DJ included. Location also nice on the water. Food portions are substandard. The price-quality ratio of the food could be a lot better. Very expensive. Management young and still relatively inexperienced.
