Delicious food for the second time this week, a top restaurant with an excellent chef both days, something to be proud of. Very good service and cuisine, a solid 10 out of 10.

A wide selection of schnitzels. Also a good selection of other dishes. Delicious and generous portions. Hospitable service. Many foreign guests (Germans). Because Wijk aan Zee is very popular with tourists, the menu is also available in English and German. The menu information is fun to read. Classics like Dame Blanche and crème brûlée are available for dessert. Excellent food at a reasonable price.

It's a lovely and cozy little place. The mayonnaise was a refilled bottle with a strange sauce, which was a bit disappointing, and the cheese fondue didn't taste good at all and made me nauseous. There were two of us, and she enjoyed it. For me, the wine flavor was still too strong, but otherwise, the staff was pleasant and friendly.

We will be visiting you in Switzerland in a neat location in the village with a card on your schnitzel and a nice card in itself. I have a .....schnitzel with my beloved fish. Everything was good and personal and friendly. All here in Dorf speak wunderbar Deutsch. The prices are correct and the portions are correct. I can enjoy the restaurant now. You can make reservations here at Maps Today we went for dinner at Switzerland, a nice location in the village with a menu based on schnitzel and a very nice menu that has everything. I had a...schnitzel my wife had the fish pan. Everything was very good and the staff very friendly and accommodating. Everyone in this village speaks excellent German. The prices are reasonable, and the portions are generous. I highly recommend this restaurant. In the evening, it's best to make a reservation on Maps.

A small restaurant with delicious dishes and charm. When it's busy, the wait staff can be a bit overwhelmed, and ordering takes quite a while. Wiener Schnitzel 7.5/10.

1 star because the system unfortunately doesn't recognize a zero... 20 minutes from arriving at the restaurant until drinks and menus arrived. Another 15 minutes until an order could be placed. Hope: "At these prices, the food must be good!" ...bitter disappointment. Schnitzel Klein Switzerland: Description: Schnitzel with peppers, onions, and bacon... Reality: dry schnitzel with 3kg of onions, a few strips of green pepper, about 3 mushrooms, and a few snippets of bacon. On top: the schnitzel was absolutely dry. Cordon Bleu: a folded schnitzel, also absolutely dry, with some cold cheese and a little bacon. The highlight: The menu states that every dish is served with fries... But beware: if you visit this place as a couple, you'll only get one portion of fries. (Not unusual in the Netherlands, if the portion were of a reasonable size.) That means €24.50 for a dry schnitzel with countless onions and half a portion of fries, for which you wait over an hour. The atmosphere in the restaurant was bad, as the other guests had a similar experience. The 20-minute wait for the bill should also be mentioned here. Thanks, but no thanks. Definitely not worth a visit.

So: I just wouldn't give this restaurant a star, but unfortunately I have to, and I'd dedicate this one star to the beer. I had the Cordon Bleu. This meal was simply a Wiener Schnitzel folded together with a little grated cheese. I had to order fries separately because it said that since my girlfriend already had them, we had to share them (which is fine with me). According to the menu, however, I was entitled to them, since I was paying €24.50 for a meal. The service was, in my opinion, very slow and completely uninterested in our well-being. Furthermore, and this may also be my fault, I'm used to better service, meaning I don't have to wait 20 minutes for my drink, then another 30 minutes for my food, and finally, in terms of taste, I got the worst meal I've ever ordered. I had different expectations, having read the reviews beforehand, but unfortunately, I couldn't agree with any of these 4 or 5-star ratings. As for the other guests, I don't think they felt any differently. In conclusion, I can say that if you have to wait 20 minutes to pay, you're absolutely justified in being annoyed. I will NEVER go back to this restaurant.

What I learned from this experience is that I feel more welcome as a guest when a menu is offered in my language.

After our positive experience in 2024, we ate here again this year. A very warm and welcoming atmosphere. The fish, pasta, and meat were all perfectly cooked. The price is absolutely reasonable for the quality, freshness, quantity, and presentation. Attentive service even though all the tables were occupied. A young, dynamic team. Delicious food, only the fries were a bit hard.

On a Saturday just before Pentecost tried to eat a bite but unfortunately the kitchen only opens at 5pm. Service was busier with local residents than with customers. Fortunately there are also places where the service is good in Wijk aan zee.

Pow... Wow... We are absolutely thrilled. The ambiance is simply fantastic and the staff so friendly. I won't soon forget the mixed platter... 😍. My wife fell in love with the gypsy schnitzel 🙏😁 What we really enjoyed was the coleslaw. Neither of us had ever heard of a variation like that... Really GREAT.. 👌

The food was really a 10, the small Switzerland schnitzel is also highly recommended, as is the chicken satay, where the satay sauce is also really good. In short, a good restaurant with a nice atmosphere and friendly/helpful staff

We had a lovely time at this restaurant where we ate while our car was charging. The food was amazing, the atmosphere cosy and warm and the service friendly. The local beer was great and I enjoyed a Romanian white wine which was astounding. We will come back before returning to France !

We were warmly welcomed by Dick, a attentive waiter. There were 6 of us with a large dog, we hadn't booked but we found a table with room for our dog (who was pampered throughout our meal). Dick recommended local specialties, including the best pork ribs in the world. And he didn't lie. As well as the breaded escalopes (be careful, very copious, equivalent to 2 escalopes in France). The salmon pasta was also excellent and very filling. Excellent value for money, you can go there with your eyes closed.

Very good restaurant with nice service

We were forgotten. At first we weren't brought a menu card. Then we waited an hour for our food. People who came at the same time as us had already ordered, eaten, paid and left. Our meal then contains onions, which unfortunately aren't mentioned in the food description and to which me and my sister don't react well. When we mentioned it, they just thanked us for bringing it to their attention. The food itself was tasty, the salmon was really tasty, but when you're busy looking for things out of it, it's just no fun at all! Despite the fact that I was very hungry, I couldn't fish for more onions halfway through and left it. Unfortunately we were not offered a price reduction or something similar.

We stopped by here spontaneously and were very satisfied...The food was delicious, the menu was appealing, the atmosphere was pleasant, we sat comfortably in the winter garden with a patio heater and a very friendly and attentive staff...we can definitely recommend the restaurant..And will try out the Sparerips when holiday time permits 😇.. And dog-friendly (our dog got water and a treat ☺️)

Restaurant in the middle of Wijk an Zee and close to the beach. Cohesive, beautiful ambience with a Gothic touch and excellent service. The food was served quickly and very tasty. Dogs are allowed in the restaurant, cash and card payments are possible. You can also order in advance and take the food with you easily.

The team is very accommodating, attentive and very nice. Especially the boss. In advance we read about the legendary spare ribs. What can I say, they are legendary!!! The best in the world 😉. We'll be back. Very soon. Greetings

Delicious food! Cozy ambiance outside with patio heating. We have transformed the pork tenderloin with brie into a pork tenderloin with goat cheese. A surprising combination! Simply good food with a wide choice of meals. The service was smooth, pleasant and up for a chat. Fun facts on the menu and you can even buy homemade herb butter to take at home. Highly recommended!

We went there spontaneously on Saturday. We were lucky (like the day before) that we were able to get the last free table without a reservation. We drank a few beers there and decided on the fish pot and the spare ribs. Both are very good choices, as it turns out. Great white wine sauce for fish and spare ribs (according to the menu, the best in North Holland), where you actually just had to suck the meat off, perfect and very tasty. Based on our experience, you can recommend the restaurant without reservation and with a clear conscience.

Had dinner here tonight with my brother and his wife. The ambiance of the restaurant was great, the food was of great quality, the service was smooth, knowledgeable and kind. We had a great evening in just over three hours and everything was just right! Highly recommended! And even though I live in Groningen, I will definitely come back again!!

I am staying at Heliomare in Wijk aan Zee to recuperate and had a delicious meal at "Little Switzerland" with my family. It is highly recommended to have a delicious meal in this cozy restaurant!! Me and my family enjoyed the delicious food served there.

We are regular guests on every holiday and always enjoy the great starter soups there as a starter. Service has always been top notch. But I have never experienced what happened to us last Wednesday (July 31, 2024). There were new waitresses there. We ordered starters and main course. Always the highlight of our vacation for us. Inadvertently, the main course was brought to us straight away. Then a male waiter came and admitted his mistake. Until then, no problem. When we explained to him that we wanted an appetizer first, he said no. The main course is now ready and should be eaten. There was no more talk of starter soup. We were told what to eat. Something like that doesn't work at all. The best thing: he just makes mistakes because he's very busy at the moment. Most of the time he went to the ice cream parlor next door to talk to the waitress there.

Tonight I had a lovely dinner at Little Switzerland, and to recover from all the hustle and bustle, I sat down on the absolutely cozy terrace, which was already full of guests. It feels like coming home there, both on the terrace and inside the cozy restaurant with its friendly atmosphere. From the surroundings you can really see and feel that this has been a beautiful family business for years, it feels cozy and relaxed and you are also warmly welcomed by the staff. Tonight I chose as a starter a delicious freshly baked baguette with a delicious herb butter and garlic sauce made by the chef and then the delicious pork tenderloin satay with delicious fresh fries and the delicious fresh handmade satay sauce. Including the delicious freshly prepared coleslaw, which tasted super refreshing with the pork tenderloin satay. The delicious thing about these dishes at this restaurant can really be recognized and tasted by the fact that everything is freshly handmade dishes, nothing from a package or bag but deliciously freshly prepared. And yes, if it all tastes so good then on to dessert, creme brulee and you could also taste that it was freshly prepared. Compliments to the cook/chin here. I have eaten here before with a group of 21 people a la carte, I do not imitate the chef. 21 people a la carte and then everything freshly prepared and neatly served by the friendly attentive service. All this made me decide to return again tonight on my own so that I could once again enjoy a delicious meal and sit comfortably. Little Switzerland, I will definitely come back to enjoy your hospitality and the fresh handmade products again. I'm already looking forward to it. You are an absolute recommendation. And 5 stars for you from me. A very happy and satisfied customer.

Starter: bread with two dips. Both dips are clearly finished products... €6 is absolutely outrageous! Main course: The schnitzels are from the deep fryer.... the side dishes (fries, far too few and potato salad out of the packaging) and that for 24 €.... The satay sauce was also bought ready-made.... also annoying here 21€.

Mit der Schweiz hat das wenig zu tun. Sei's drum. Ganz viel Schnitzel auf der Karte. Was haben wir gegessen? Die Gambas mit einer eher süßlichen Sauce. Die Spare Ribs, von allen empfohlen und das Kipsate. Dazu sehr gute und hausgemachte Pommes. Die Spare Ribs und das Kipsate waren wirklich gut. Wenn ihr Bier trinken wollt, nehmt Pater Blond und kein Warsteiner. Preise ok, Service auch.

Bit of a disappointment. Given the layout of the website and the (high) prices, I expected a different environment. Website looks fairly modern, but the restaurant is not. They try to create a kind of 'grandma's living room' atmosphere, which in my opinion is not successful (A lot of old junk in a cupboard and some photos on the wall do not create an atmosphere.) With the exception of the somewhat musty smell, which did indeed bother me. thinking about my grandmother's room. We were welcomed upon arrival by the (company) dog that runs loose there. We stood inside looking around for a while until a somewhat grumpy elderly lady got up from a table and asked if she could help us. Well, once at the table, the menu is in front of you, but unfortunately no drinks menu. When I asked the waiter what beers they had, she initially only said “pilser, white and blond”. She then went to the bar to see what brands and types they had. Ordered starter and main course. Starter not special: mushrooms in a standard (wholesale?) sauce. My expectations for the main course had dropped so it turned out not to be too bad. Excellent pork tenderloin. Skipped dessert anyway. If you just want something to eat without too high expectations, this is the place for you. However, I don't think the pricing is justified. In my opinion too expensive for where you sit and what you get.

Craziness! We discovered the restaurant by chance. The atmosphere is really cozy and the employees are very nice. The food is so delicious! Everything we ordered tasted great. We also really liked the music. At the end we even received the bill in a basket with sweets. We will be back definitely :)

I've been in Wijk an Zee once a year for about 20 years now, previously on business at a trade fair in Amsterdam, now as a private person. Of course you try out the restaurants after a day at the trade fair, and I have to say that I found peace in Little Switzerland. Not only is the restaurant idyllically located on the small market square, you can also sit outside in the sun and relax with a good glass of wine or beer. The food is very tasty, my favorites are the prawns and - always great - the spare ribs. The meat is of excellent quality. The manager Dirk, who has been running the restaurant for 13 years, is largely responsible for the beautiful and pleasant atmosphere and the tasteful design of the rooms. Always nice and sociable. I'm already looking forward to the next visit.

I tried the spare ribs because of the reviews. They were really tasty, a bit of oriental seasoning. My husband had the grill plate and was very satisfied, even the chicken schnitzel or turkey wasn't too dry. A bit expensive, but if it tastes good 😋👍😄😄 Sitting outside is nice, you can see lots of pedestrians and other things going on 😂 Inside it's nice and rustic.

We had our first dinner together in Klein Switzerland 4 years ago. Both the food (preparation and quality of the dishes) as well as the ambience and the friendly service make us go there again and again (it's 650 km easy for us). If you want to eat well and are looking for a great ambience, this is the place for you. Reservations are recommended. The restaurant is always very busy. No day off.

Ambiance: Great Service: Top Food: Indescribably good. We have been coming there on vacation for 3 years now and we look forward to it every time. We were lucky on the first evening and got a nice place even without a reservation. As a precaution, we made a reservation for the following day. We told the owner at which table we had sat at our first meeting three years earlier (now married). The owner took note of this and reserved the “anniversary spot” for us. It couldn't be more attentive. The taste experience and the high quality of the food can hardly be put into words; you have to experience the culinary pleasure yourself. We'll be back, if it wasn't over 600 km one way... we would be regulars there. So unfortunately we have to wait until vacation next year.

We were lucky and got a nice sunny spot outside in 19. The ribs were tender as butter and the grill plate was also very tasty.
