What a fantastic experience! Delicious, surprising food, a warm welcome (we especially loved the sommelier), and a super relaxed atmosphere! And although I also see a review that sees it as a negative, it's so nice that our calm, well-behaved dog was allowed to come along. This way, you can still truly enjoy culinary delights when you're on vacation with your dog. We'd love to come back!

Too slow and not particularly good service. Okay but not very charming. No special glasses or extra explanation about the wines. Food not really presented in a special way, but tasty. Too expensive for the experience, price quality not in proportion. Ambience not special, music choice not fitting and outside furniture worn out. Details are not achieved with the price category that the restaurant pretends to be.

What a great restaurant with a great team. We really enjoyed our 5 course dinner where a matching wine was served with each dish, including good explanation. Beautiful dishes where the scallop stood out for us. Delicious appetizers and great bread with delicious butter. Nice service too, not too formal and always willing to explain what was on our plate. Wij waren door vrienden met een vakantiehuis vlakbij Domburg uitgenodigd voor de lunch. Mezger bleek een absoluut schot in de roos. Een mooie, stijlvolle moderne zaak en uitstekende bediening. Maar het draait natuurlijk met name om het eten en dat was ook meer dan in orde. Het begon met twee uitstekende amuses die al een goede indruk gaven van de kwaliteit van de keuken. Daarna volgden vijf uitstekende gangen, stuk voor stuk creatief gepresenteerd en hoog op smaak. Ronduit heerlijk zonder enige misser. Van schaaldieren via vis naar een uitstekende shortrib. Een Michelin ster lijkt zonder meer binnen bereik. Voor de geboden kwaliteit is het prijsniveau goed in orde. Ronduit heerlijk en zeer aan te bevelen!

Went here for the first time yesterday, we got a very nice table with armchairs in the corner. The host was more than friendly and kept a close eye on everything and everyone. All service was very good, involved and sympathetic. The dish with cheese and duck liver ice cream was really great. The scallops also impressed! We really enjoyed and highly recommend this place.

Very friendly welcome! After being given a nice spot, we were immediately asked about allergies. This was an entire evening, nothing was left to chance and the service was very attentive. Service attentive but the food sublime! All flavors were presented and the wine arrangement made the evening absolutely fantastic. Even with the wine, no question was too strange for the waiter. And there was an answer to everything, full of knowledge and passion. In short: definitely recommended and will definitely come back!

auf der suche nach einem schönen restaurant mit moderner gehobener küche, geschmackvollem einfallsreichtum im umgang mit regionalen und saisonalen zutaten sowie einem gutem, weil aufmerksamen service sind wir vor ein paar tagen beim restaurant mezger in domburg / NL ausgekommen. dem anlass entsprechend haben wir im stilsicher zeitgemäss gestaltetem gastraum einen rundum sehr gelungenen abend verbracht, der uns auch jetzt noch dazu anregt, hier in zukunft nocheinmal vorbeizuschauen. die "halbe weltreise" von zoutelande zum mezger in domburg hat sich für uns auf jeden fall gelohnt. DANKE! p.s.: ob das aber dann aber auch noch so sein wird, wenn zwischen april und oktober die städtischen kämmerer meinen, mit exorbitanten parkgebühren die touristen melken zu müssen, da habe ich wohl meine zweifel. denn einen eigenen parkplatz hat das restaurant leider nicht

Der Abend im Mezger war ein Erlebnis in jeder Hinsicht. Vom aufmerksamen, aber lockeren und zugewandten Service, über das fantastische Menü, bis hin zu den perfekt dazu ausgewählten Weinen. Wir legen es jedem Domburg Besucher ans herz dort einzukehren!

Wir Deutschen neigen ja leider manchmal dazu, unsere Qualität und unsere Leistungen über die anderer zu stellen. Insbesondere hört man häufig, dass die niederländische Küche qualitativ schlechter sei als die deutsche. Und das, obwohl man doch nur - ob in Deutschland, den Niederlanden und jedem anderen Land - das richtige Restaurant finden finden muss. In Domburg gibt es da ein echtes Juwel: das Restaurant Mezger, das wir heute zum zweiten Mal genießen durften. Keine große Karte, sondern „nur“ EIN Menü. Exzellente Qualität der Zutaten, spannende asiatische „Einschläge“, toll komponierte Gerichte. Das Personal ist extrem freundlich und sehr hilfsbereit. Die Weinbegleitung (auch halbe Gläser) ist nicht nur nicht überteuert, sondern sehr gut ausgewählt und preislich reell. Vier Stunden im Mezger, die einfach Spaß und Freude bereitet haben und die jeden Euro wer waren. Vielen Dank an den Küchenchef und das gesamte Team! Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder.

Ik volg de culinaire wereld op de voet , en een naam die me opviel , die regelmatig prijzen won , was Jeroen Tanis . Zo'n dingen zijn geen toeval , maar een bekroning voor iemand , die weet wat koken is , en wat smaken zijn ! En over smaken gesproken ....ik ging met hoge verwachtingen daarheen , maar had nooit kunnen vermoeden dat dit van een ongekend niveau zou zijn ! De smaken in de gerechten die hij brengt , zijn buitenaards.....en dit komt van een Belg , die jaren in een Michelin-ster zaak heeft gewerkt , maar meer wil ik hierover ook niet kwijt ! Hier heb ik combinaties van smaken ervaren , die me perplex lieten ! Zelfs de wijnen , en een oude port wijn, die men bij elk gerecht aanbeveelde.....waren een bewijs , dat men ook hier veel aandacht had aan besteed en er over nagedacht was . Maar wat is een superkok , zonder goed personeel ? Een dikke pluim ook voor zaal het personeel , niet alleen supervriendelijk , maar zeer professioneel en ....geloof me , een hele goede kennis van zowel de gerechten als van de wijnen , en de wijnstreken . Zo'n personeel.....daar kan je alleen maar van dromen !

Everything was readily explained to our questions, and the wine pairings were also well thought out. The dishes were varied, well-crafted, and we all enjoyed them. The portion sizes and timing of the courses were also well-coordinated with the menu.

Wir waren schon oft hier und haben immer vorzüglich gespeist und getrunken. Bei manchen Kritiken hier sucht man tatsächlich die versteckte Kamera oder anders gesagt: Wer Stoffservietten nicht von Papierservietten unterscheiden kann, sollte lieber eine der ortsansässig Pizzerien aufsuchen. Die sind auch gut und für kulinarische Einsteiger völlig ausreichend. Jeder soll schreiben was er möchte, aber unfair wird es in dem Moment, hier nur zwei Punkte zu hinterlassen! Zur Bewertung: Phantastische Aromenküche mit phantasievollen Kombinationen. Das Menü kann aus sieben bis acht kleinen Gängen zusammengestellt werden. Z.B. Anjou-Taube mit roter Beete und Macadamiamantel in Portweinsauce. Die Weinkarte bietet eine gute Flaschenauswahl und auch offene Weine zu fairen Preisen. Sehr zu empfehlen ist auch die ingeniöse Weinbegleitung durch Ivan. Neben tollen Standards werden hier wirkliche Geheimtips gut zu den jeweiligen Gerichten passend angeboten und erklärt. Das moderne, stilvolle Ambiente ist über jeden Zweifel erhaben und bietet einen würdigen Rahmen. Wir haben uns einmal wieder mehr sehr wohl gefühlt und kommen so schnell es geht wieder.

Two delicious amuse bouches and the first four fish dishes of the 7-course menu are excellently balanced, full of flavors and textures; they are fun. Then comes a morsel of duck (good standard) and the destroyer of pleasure in the form of a beef tataki so raw that resuscitation would be an option, drowned in cold chimichuri and provided with tough tendons. The kitchen staff can do something, have obvious ambitions and gaps that can be improved. After all, people have already internalized the new guiding principle of star gastronomy: don't put anything warm on your plate. What's still missing? Tablecloths, alternatives to wholesale cutlery, serving lessons that prevent thumbprints on the plate and insight into what needs to be worked on.

Einfaches Standardmobiliar, keine Tischdecken, Papierservietten, mattes Besteck vom Restaurantdiscounter … das Ambiente passt nicht zum 7-Gänge-Menü für 125,00 Euro. Trotzdem sind dann die beiden amuse-bouche und die vier ersten Gänge mit Fisch/Meeresfrüchten überzeugend mit verschiedenen Aromen und Konsistenzen in appetitlicher Aufmachung. Dann ein Häppchen Ente, fruchtig, fein und anschließend der Geschmackszerstörer: Rindfleisch-Tataki im Chimichuri ertränkt, zu kalt, praktisch roh und mit zähen Sehnen angereichert. Das kann auch die wirklich feine Käseauswahl nicht retten. In der Küche steht jemand, der etwas kann und dem der letzte Schliff fehlt. Allerdings hat diese Person den jüngsten Trend der Eliteküche bereits verinnerlicht: bringe nichts Warmes auf den Teller. Bitte weiter üben, auch der Service (Daumenabdrücke im Teller sind vermeidbar), dann wird etwas daraus, das die Preise rechtfertigt.

Wir hatten ein 5 Gänge Menü gewählt. Es kamen 2 Grüße aus der Küche, die schon sterneverdächtig waren. Die Qualität ließ nicht nach und wurde immer besser; wobei die Käseauswahl hätte etwas mehr sein dürfen. Letztendlich war es ein kulinarisches Vergnügen hier zu essen.

Mooi ingericht restaurant met vreemde entree. Je moet wel moeite doen om iets anders te kiezen dan zeven gangen diner. Wij kozen voor vier. Het eten is voortreffelijk. Wijnkeuze door sommelier ook. Maar het restaurant mist bezieling. De sommelier haalt de beoordeling omhoog anders was het een voldoende geweest.

The atmosphere is really nice and the service is very friendly! The food is really delicious! What we didn't like was that you can't sit outside when the weather is nice, we were given a seat inside in the blazing sun and couldn't change it even when asked & the service with the drinks wasn't very attentive. Nevertheless, we would like to come back on our next visit.

I found the main course the lamb to be very minimal compared to the fish I got. The taste is fine, but the portion could have been a little more. I understand the comment about the mirrors in the ladies' toilet. But that depends on the food. I'm not too tall either, so I kneel down or lean over the sink.

Great atmosphere - casual but stylish. Suitable background music - no classical. Food is of course top. Wines perfectly balanced with food. Service absolutely competent, including the wine advice. The service lady has been on board since 2017, that says it all. Again and again . We had the 8 course menu. Bringing time is a given. Disabled accessible also for wheelchairs.

Na familie bezoek in Vlissingen met mijn moeder hier gegeten. Dit restaurant is werkelijk geweldig, alles is perfect en ook nog vol sfeer vriendelijkheid, alles wat je kunt bedenken. Ook de prijs kwaliteit verhouding is heel gunstig, heel veel waar voor een zeer gunstige prijs. Ieder gerecht smaakt voortreffelijk, het is dat er geen 5 Michelin sterren restaurants bestaan, anders was dit er 1.

Dagje Domburg gepland.....qua lunch gekozen voor Mezger : Echt TOP !!! Een heerlijke middag gehad op het terras en genoten van een voortreffelijke lunch ( 6-gangen ). De bediening was erg goed en gaf een ontspannen en ongedwongen gevoel met toch een goede kennis van zaken. Zeker voor herhaling vatbaar.

Das war mit Abstand das beste,was wir in den letzten Jahren in einem Restaurant Essen durften.Angefangen mit dem,was vorweg serviert wurde und durch alle Gänge hindurch,wurden die Augen und der Gaumen verwöhnt,dazu noch das sehr freundliche und nicht aufdringliche Personal,das jederzeit alles im Blick hatte.Das hat Haubenniveau,5 Sterne sind da noch zu wenig.
