Delicious food, something for everyone

The restaurant is highly recommended. The food is good, although some dishes could be better. The service is friendly, fast, and helpful. For the setting as I was there, the atmosphere is very good. It is too bright for a romantic atmosphere. Summary: highly recommended for a nice tapas meal in Zeist.

We ate on the covered terrace of the campsite. The food was tasty and not expensive.

We had a nice meal, but unfortunately, to my great surprise, there were a few things that were a bit disappointing. A tenderloin that was way, way overcooked, whereas normally your knife should glide right through it, and a sweet chicken that had also been deep-fried for far too long, making the chicken so dry and tough that I could only eat a few pieces. A shame for this time; perhaps there was a different cook who wasn't very skilled with the equipment, I don't know, but I hope it will be better next time. Otherwise, all the other dishes were of excellent quality and very well and tastily prepared. The service, both young and old, is also always more than good and super friendly. Still, I say... until next time.

Very good fusion restaurant with an all-you-can-eat concept. Good decor, good atmosphere, and the quality of the food is above average. If you don't want all-you-can-eat, you can also go à la carte and order dishes individually.

Incredibly fast service! You dine in a beautifully decorated space. Not too big, not too small. The menu also offers a wide selection! The food was beautifully presented and we were very positive about the price-quality ratio! With 4 young children, we were able to dine out here comfortably (just no play area or anything like that), à la carte was fine for us, and it was nice that the waiting times were surprisingly short!

Don't fall for it: while Mido presents itself as a luxurious experience with a price point of 60(!) euros and corresponding portion sizes, what you get is of lower quality than any average Asian restaurant. Sauces are neglected, and apart from meat, the kitchen has little else to offer than watery boiled vegetables. Avoid!

Eating here for dinner for the first time. Nicely decorated place, with pleasant staff. It is an "all you can eat" concept; normally I'm not a big fan of that, but here it is done well. Nice dishes and variety; most of it was very tasty. The oysters were a bit dried out, though, and I would skip the spicy soy sauce; it felt like it came straight from a jar. It would have been better if the soy sauce had been deep-fried. But that didn't spoil the fun; we had a nice evening!

Had a good meal. Diverse selection of dishes. Unfortunately, no chicken Pokébowl. But plenty of other options. Definitely recommended. Beautiful location and stunning interior.

I don't often write reviews, but after our experience here, I felt compelled to leave one. To be honest, I don't understand the high score on Google either. First of all, it is an all-you-can-eat concept. You don't expect culinary masterpieces, but just tasty bites and sushi. However, the concept here works by ordering three small dishes at a time, which are then served as courses. I don't have a problem with that in itself, were it not for the fact that there were sometimes 30 to 40 minutes between dishes. That is not exactly pretty and gives the feeling that there is a deliberate attempt to get guests to eat as little as possible, despite the all-you-can-eat concept. Additionally, most dishes were simply not good. The carpaccio was warm and full of tendons. The beef tataki had the same problem, by the way. Hot dishes frequently arrived at the table cold or lukewarm, and the sushi was mediocre as well. The chicken roll contained chicken that was incredibly dry. The tastiest thing we ate was the fried chicken katsu, although it did arrive cold at the table once. I found the last point perhaps the most disturbing. Except when we had just sat down, we were never asked a single time if we wanted something to drink. We had to ask for it ourselves twice, and after that, I was pretty much done with it. In the end, we even left feeling a bit hungry, something you wouldn't expect from a concept like this. I'm really not easily picky, but as far as I'm concerned, this really falls below the minimum standard of what you should expect from the hospitality industry. The girl who served us was friendly, though. That is why I am still giving the service 2 stars.

A wonderful experience at Mido! The food was truly delicious and everything was served beautifully. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, making you feel welcome immediately. A cozy atmosphere and definitely a place to come back to. Highly recommended!

Large restaurant, fine service, but the dishes are unremarkable and minuscule: Octopus salad is a broad term for 3 pieces of octopus, as are the salmon and aubergine. The vegetarian curry was barely recognizable as such, a watery mini-bite. Everything is doused and sprinkled with large portions of red pepper, which makes the whole thing spicy but also bland. The glass of wine, however, is a good full one.

The food was fine, but unfortunately, the organization surrounding the meal was very poor. The first courses took a long time to arrive. Subsequently, the wait staff frequently delivered the wrong (unordered) dishes, and dishes that had been ordered were forgotten. Not everyone in our party received their food at the same time (because everything was so disorganized). One employee was very friendly, by the way, but another clearly had much less enthusiasm for his work.

What a huge disappointment. Mido Zeist used to be a great restaurant we loved visiting, but after our visit yesterday, the price-quality ratio has become really poor. We should have read the recent reviews beforehand, because the decline is painfully noticeable. Unfortunately, I am at home today with stomach issues. The quality of the food left much to be desired: Not fresh: Products did not taste fresh at all. Cold and greasy: The pasta was served cold and another dish was very fatty. Poor quality meat: The beef was full of tough muscle fibers. The service was also severely lacking. The staff was very distant. Although it wasn't busy at all, we had to wait an extremely long time before we could eat. The only thing that was quick was bringing new dishes while the dirty plates were still on the table, after we had complained about it. It was nice that it went faster, but the way it was handled is a shame. After that, we had to wait a very long time again to place another order. Additionally, we did not receive a clean glass with a new drink, and a small bowl on the table was still dirty from the previous guests. We indicated in advance that there was a birthday person in our party, but absolutely nothing was done about this. It is not mandatory, of course, but it is a shame. Upon checking out, we asked if there was a new chef. This turned out to be the case; there are several new chefs. Our feedback was dismissed on the spot with a standard response that they "hope it will be better next time, like we were used to" or something similar. For the current prices, this level is very low. Unfortunately, I do not think we will be coming back here. It is mainly the disappointment, because we were so satisfied! Such a shame; hopefully, something will be done about it. Oh yes, finally; there are a number of stairs here. At the entrance and inside as well. If this is a problem, then you know this. They are not long.

Had an incredibly delicious meal; you decide what you eat and can try all sorts of things. Highly recommended, with parking in the area.

The quality of the food was 2 lower than used to and expected.

Price/quality ratio is very skewed. Lukewarm, Cold MIDO. We had the "Enjoying Without Limits" Package. A bit pricey, but it seemed like a fun time. I was with a group of 5 people who frequently visit "all you can eat" restaurants. Think of places like Heinde and Koi. We arrived around 5:45 PM. The first round went fairly quickly, a fifteen-minute wait, though the portions were very small. But it was fine. The cold dishes we ordered at the beginning were okay at first. In the later rounds, basically everything that was ordered was lukewarm or cold. With several dishes of "warm" meat, the accompanying vegetables were raw, and the plates were warmer than the food itself. I wouldn't call that really hot food. For the third round, we had to wait well over half an hour; for the fourth and fifth rounds, both for longer than forty-five minutes. Mind you, the portions are really huge. Some portions, especially the sushi, were finished in 4 small bites. Apologies were offered for the long wait during the 4th round. But that was it. We finally didn't leave until 9:30 PM, with 10 very small dishes per person. Two-fifths of the group were still hungry after the meal. The quality of the food wasn't all that great either. Actually, everything tasted exactly the same: meat with a sort of sweet soy sauce, with some onion and other random vegetables on the side. But what shocked me the most was when I went inside from the terrace to use the restroom. Dirty plates were everywhere, absolutely everywhere. In the restaurant, in the dining area, next to the front door, next to the bar. When I walked past the kitchen area, I saw three waiters waving at the kitchen, as if it were some kind of big Asian food market with people (in this case, the waiters) wanting their food quickly. The service on the terrace wasn't good. First, the glasses weren't cleared. Then, we didn't get any more glasses with our soft drinks because "We're out of glasses." Yes, that was actually said. (You pay almost 4 euros per drink, by the way). When paying, we did mention that it wasn't very good. Then the manager-like type blamed the outside staff. My personal opinion: There is no management. Everyone seems to be just winging it. If you paid 25 euros for the All you can eat experience, but no. This just costs 43 euros. And on top of that, the drinks are ridiculously expensive. Do you just want to enjoy a nice glass of wine with something small? Go here for a nice time. Are you really coming for dinner or an All you can eat experience? Then definitely skip this one.

I want to give my compliments to the staff! The young man who helped us was so incredibly friendly! Even though we were demanding at times, he remained really friendly! Our compliments!! Many restaurants could learn a thing or two from this! Thank you!

Really surprised! Had a delicious meal, friendly and knowledgeable service. It is nice and quiet there, not too crowded. Lots of choice on the menu and absolutely of good quality. We will definitely be back!

Atmospheric restaurant in a good location in Zeist. The food was very tasty, something for everyone. Extensive menu, you want to try almost everything. If you choose unlimited enjoyment, then it really is unlimited enjoyment! 😉

Had a delicious and lovely meal

We had to wait far too long for our food. The atmosphere was a bit impersonal. There were some very tasty dishes, such as an oriental stew, a spicy dish. The sushi was also excellent. The vegetarian curry was poor. All in all, quite expensive, and dessert wasn't included. We won't be back.

Got food poisoning last night yuck, I came here twice and I'm never coming back.

I ate here and unfortunately got food poisoning. I've been sick in bed ever since and can't do anything. It was almost certainly the chicken I ate here. The food didn't taste fresh to begin with. This is absolutely unacceptable to me. I will never come back. I'm very disappointed, and I advise others to be careful.

Had lunch here at Christmas. The food was decent, but there was no Christmas atmosphere at all. The table was worn, and the patio was in very poor condition. The tiremasou was watery, probably frozen.

Although I've often had good experiences, I was recently disappointed with the food...it generally lacked flavor. We also had a very large group next to us, making it difficult to hear each other. Unfortunately, nothing was done about our comments. Too bad...I won't be going back for a while.

Today I dined with 14 people for my 60th birthday. Everything we ordered was simply delicious. One thing was a little tricky: we had someone in a wheelchair. He had to enter through the side door/emergency exit. However, the door wouldn't open properly. He got stuck on the floor. He eventually got in. But an emergency exit should be able to open normally. That same man needed to empty his catheter bag, but there was no opportunity to do so. So he left early. Otherwise, we had a fantastic evening. We'll definitely be back.

WARNING The food is really not worth it. It tastes normal and not at all unique. The place where you sit is fine. You have to wait more than an hour for the all-you-can-eat menu. They put different things on the table, like a Thai or vegan dish that wasn't ordered at all. Sometimes the dishes don't arrive at all, and it just takes an incredibly long time. All the food is decorated the same and not at all unique.

I hardly ever write reviews, but I really had to share this. We sat here for over two hours, and in that time, we only got four courses – everything was messy and mixed up. The service consisted of young, inexperienced girls who even dropped things. It happens, but from a restaurant with this name and reviews, you'd expect much more professionalism. The food was also a major disappointment. There wasn't a single regular sushi to be found – no tuna, salmon, or simple cucumber rolls. Everything was supposed to be "exclusive," but that mainly meant four pieces of sushi topped with onion or beetroot to make it look fancy. The meat was "okay," but if you know how good meat is supposed to taste, you'll immediately notice that this is simply not quality. What makes it even worse: if you don't choose the all-you-can-eat option, you pay around €10 per dish and get five pieces of meat or four pieces of sushi. That's ridiculously cheap for that price. And just to be clear: Sushi San in Zeist is much better than this place – you get better quality, normal portions, and you pay less. In short: absolutely no value for money, disappointing quality, and a bad experience. This was my first and last time there.

We went out to dinner with our boys for my birthday. The boys were looking forward to the unlimited enjoyment menu, but they had to wait 30 minutes between courses. The waitress dropped the full tray on the table. She also mentioned that the kitchen wasn't fast today... The food wasn't great either, so if you want to eat all you can, skip this place.

Last week I visited Restaurant MIDO in Zeist and it was a real treat! The fusion of Eastern and Western flavors is unique—think fresh sushi, succulent beef tataki, and delicious scallops, all in an all-you-can-eat format without feeling cheap. Been there before, the food is always good, but this time it's either too busy or understaffed. It took 42 minutes for the first course and drink.

Dishes at Mido's are tasty. Obviously not haute cuisine, but thats not what they're aming for. Place is big, and some parts can even be considered cosy. Go with friends and have a more than enjoyable evening.

Very tasty and very friendly service

We went to the restaurant on August 12th. We wanted to have something to eat and drink. We saw that the terrace wasn't busy. We took a seat on the terrace and were looked at by the staff, but not greeted. After waiting 5 to 10 minutes, we called the waiter to ask if we could order. He said, "Be right there," which took a long time. We were about to get up and leave. Then one of the staff came to take our order. Our warm snack of mini spring rolls was on the table within a minute. We didn't receive our drinks. We asked for the bill, but that didn't come either. We looked at the menu ourselves and saw that it cost €7 for 6 mini spring rolls. We politely put it on the table and left. When we got to the other side to leave, the young staff member came after us to tell us we hadn't paid enough. He started an argument with us, even though we didn't receive any drinks and paid for what we were served and consumed. It was a real shame that this had to happen; we felt completely uncomfortable.

I could write a long and detailed review about how fantastic this place is. But I'll keep it short; it's full marks for good reason. Highly recommended, highly recommended, highly recommended.

We ate at Mido last week. What a wonderful surprise. We've lived in Zeist for years but apparently overlooked this restaurant. The menu is extensive and diverse, and the dishes were all delicious. Drinks may be a bit pricey, but the food (and the price of the menu) more than compensated for that, so we didn't mind. Fantastic!

We ate here on Sunday evening, July 13th. The food was good, and so was the service. But when I got the bill, I was quite shocked. They're charging a whopping €5.00 for a Raider 0.0, and a small bottle of cola is €3.70. I understand they need to make a profit, but the prices for a small drink are ridiculous and completely outrageous.

Great atmosphere and mostly tasty food. Great allergen labeling. You don't see that often, so they deserve praise for that. What I didn't like: we opted for the 'all you can eat' menu (€43 excluding dessert), and after 3 hours (!) we ultimately left with what felt like empty stomachs. Service is so incredibly slow (30 minute waits between courses!) and the portion sizes are so small that we didn't feel full by the time we had to leave for an appointment. And just a minor thing but they pour speciality beers (Lagunitas, €6.20) in small 25cl glasses. Overall, not a great value for money.

Recently had dinner at this beautiful restaurant. Delicious food and more than enough choice! What was a shame is that only drinks are served on the terrace, so eating outside at Mido is unfortunately not an option when the weather is nice... 😞

Great food, excellent dishes and good cocktails! The steak tartare could be more flavorful, you only taste mustard there. And the cold dishes could use a bit more pepper and salt! Furthermore, I would personally use slightly smaller plates... now they are too big for the dishes and the tables and this also makes you wait longer during the crowds. For the rest, simply recommended and only constructive feedback! 😄😉👍

What a nice restaurant! Nice atmosphere, with friendly service. Delicious food, no long wait for the next dish. For the price you get good quality. Because the portions are not so large, you can try many different dishes from the menu. It is possible to eat unlimited or a la carte. I think I'll come back again :)

We had a delicious meal! The menu caused some choice stress because it contains so many tasty things. It is cozy inside, but unfortunately very noisy. The staff was friendly and fast.

Food here is fantastic! Better than sushi san and the nice thing is that you order three dishes that they serve one after the other, not at the same time. The only downside is the sound, I didn't like the acoustics. They really need to do something about that, as far as I'm concerned it's a top restaurant.

We zijn er voor de derde keer geweest, en het was weer zeer lekker en gezellig. Er is echt voor iedereen wat te kiezen. Het personeel is vriendelijk en het restaurant is zeer gezellig ingericht. Ik zou zeggen dat het een AANRADER is. Oordeel dan zelf en ga niet altijd uit als er iemand een negatieve ervaring heeft gehad.

We were both in bed later with food poisoning, the waitress was also not very friendly and we were not actively asked for drinks, but you had to find it yourself. The food varied in quality, some dishes were very raw and not completely flavourful. The service was friendly, but quite slow, so we had to wait a long time between courses. We also sat in the room next to the kitchen, where there was a strong smell of grease. This was not very pleasant and detracted from the dining experience.

Ruime keuze uit kleine porties, maar vrees niet, je kan er genoeg bestellen tegen een schappelijke prijs of zelfs een all you can eat. Eten van goede kwaliteit en grappige fusion. Lijkt een beetje een tapas restaurant, maar dan andere gerechten. Bediening op onze avond goed en zeer vriendelijk.

Food is good...the service is slow...it takes 20 minutes between ordering drinks and serving...the staff is friendly.

The service at Mido has always been top notch, but unfortunately the quality of the food has now really deteriorated. It took a very long time for the food to be served even though it was not busy at all. In addition, the food was very disappointing: The yakitori was tasteless and poorly prepared. The Korean chicken was dry. The duck spring roll and the fried salmon were far too dry. The lobster soup was way too salty. Even the sushi rice didn't taste fresh, which is very disappointing for a restaurant known for sushi. It seems like something has fundamentally changed, maybe a new chef. Despite the always friendly service, I can say that this was my last visit. Very unfortunate, because Mido was once a favorite.

Food was good, low in carbohydrates and low in salt, they cannot take this into account, very busy tent and staff walking around like headless chickens, returning 3 dishes to the kitchen at the same time and then drinking again, you have to ask for it. In short, not worth repeating. Shame
