Un buen restaurante en un entorno muy agradable. La esfera en esta noche de sábado fue agradable, con prácticamente todas las mesas ocupadas. Gran elección de comida de buena calidad. El personal (internacional) es amable, rápido y eficiente, realmente un gran punto positivo. Precio/calidad aceptable. Fácil aparcamiento. En conjunto, una experiencia muy agradable. ¡Volveremos!

Ate there with a group. Nice atmosphere and very friendly service. Everyone was satisfied with the taste, but personally I thought the tasty Indian was completely missing. It doesn't look like the typical nasi rames that you can order at a Hague store, for example. Not a real Indian restaurant, which I agree with Mr Mak because it is a Chinese taste experience here

We thought we would eat in a real Indonesian restaurant. But it's just Chinese and doesn't taste like Indian spices at all!! Too bad it was really disappointing. Nothing is based on Indonesia, but it is Chinese. The staff are also Chinese so why do they call this an Indonesian restaurant? Staff was very friendly, but we won't be back. The windows were very dirty and it really didn't feel fresh.

Minangkabau people don't eat pork. Please don't be disrespectful by taking over the restaurant from previous owners and keeping the name (and fame they built up) but adding pork to the menu. I'm quite surprised and shocked the new owner(s) made this decision year ago. Why di ALL rice tables (minus the vegetarian ones of course) have pork in them?! Knowing there are so many the great Indonesian vegetarian dishes it's sad to see only a few made it to the menu. That said it's surprising to see there are two different veggie-rice tables on the a la carte and rice tables menus. I find the the "Putri Solo" rice table has just too many non-Indonesian dishes.. This place clearly serves Chinese-Indian and not true Indonesian cuisine. The prices being up there a bit imho together with a (beautiful building but with) high ceiling inside omitting that cosy atmosphere are reasons for me to steer clear from here when in search of dining out for an Indonesian treat. As a tip might I suggest maybe altering your information accordingly as to prevent more people visiting and leaving lesser reviews due to believing to have a proper Indonesian meal at your establishment. (Be proud of your own food and heritage!)

Met het eindejaarsetentje van het werk gekozen voor een rijsttafel bij Minang Kabau. Past heel goed bij een gezelschap met verschillende wensen, voor iedereen meer dan genoeg keus. De ligging is prachtig met zicht op de Kralingse Plas met lichtjes in het donker. Vriendelijke bediening.

Sorry but it is offensive use the name of Minang Kabau restaurant but serve babi/ varken, because we as Minang doesn't eat non halal, and the menu list is chinese food not Padang at all. Please mind about this name.

A very nice and good restaurant for dining. The menu is varied. Really tasty food! Order came to the table quite quickly. Service is very friendly. Reservations are required. Parking can be a crime when the weather is nice because of walkers. Recommended!

Had dinner here with the family on a Friday evening. We sat in one room together, but at two long tables. That was a little less because you still want to sit at the table together. But the food was delicious. There was still a lot left over so we were allowed to take it home.

Prachtig zonnig dus weer eens naar Minang Kabau aan de Kralingse Plas .Schitterende plek, Sumatra gebouw . Eerst buiten wijntje om in de sfeer te komen, daarna rijsttafel MK in de serre. Vriendelijke voldoende bediening .Potje indo thee want bier hoort er niet bij voor de smaak. Rendang en Smoor goed ,uitgebreide rijsttafel , sajoer boontjes helaas bevroren , rest conform menu en goed van smaak . Afsluiting met Cendol (7.5) Komen uit Brabant maar het blijft een belevenis.

24/8 voor het eerst geweest om de 80e verjaardag te vieren van mijn moeder. Wat een geweldige beleving. We waren met 10 personen. 2 verschillende rijsttafels genomen. Wauw wat een eten, zoveel en zo lekker!!! Nagerechten waren ook top !!! En de bediening....GEWELDIG. Zo grappig en gezellig. Als laatste de rekening : voor al het eten en drinken zeer goed te betalen. Voor ons een dikke 10. Wij zaten in de serre. Klein en intiem. Tot snel want het blijft zeker niet bij deze ene keer !!

We have been coming here for over 20 years and in the last 2 years we have seen that Indonesian flavors have been replaced by Chinese flavors. The satay is no longer roasted, the babi ketjap is a sugar sauce, the tempeh comes from the factory and is tasteless. Too bad, we won't eat here again.

Blijft een lekkere winkel op een top locatie. Bediening is zo vriendelijk. Nasi kuning compleet en een sate mix, paar drankjes en voor h € 50 met z'n tweeën heb je een prima lunch.

Schitterende locatie aan de Kralingse Plas in het Kralingse bos. Gedineerd in een wat kleinere sfeervolle zaal (serre) die volledig bezet was maar desondanks heerlijk rustig was. Gekozen voor de rijsttafel die netjes uitgeserveerd werd. Tot de laatste rijstkorrel opgegeten, had naar onze smaak meer vlees mogen bevatten! Na de rijsttafel een ijskoffie en thee besteld. De ijskoffie werd dusdanig veel later dan de thee geserveerd dat de thee inmiddels afgekoeld was, dat was jammer. De smaak van de ijskoffie viel tegen. Wil je rustig en verzorgd eten op een prachtige locatie? Minang Kabau!

Went here for the first time with friends. The location is very beautiful, on the lake and in the forest. Lots of parking spaces. We had lunch in the conservatory. The food is good, friendly service and good atmosphere. It is definitely recommended to eat here!

Beautiful location on the Kralingse plas in a traditional Minang Kabau style restaurant. The atmosphere inside is cozy. The service is nice, smooth and helpful. I expected more from the food. I didn't think the taste was typically Indonesian, but rather reminded me of a Chinese-Indian restaurant. The spicy dishes were bland. The menu offers a lot of choice and the prices are acceptable.

The food was average, neither good nor bad. Poor value for money. I remembered a schoolboy's prank. Coconut crumbs and spices saved a little. The terrace is in a good location, the interior is cramped. Serving played well.

De 3 rijsttafels waren top, bediening eveneens! 1 gerecht met vlees en groente en nasi kuning; was lekker maar veel teveel rijst tov het veel te kleine beetje groente en vlees.

Heb hier altijd redelijk goed gegeten. Wat is er met de keuken aan de hand? De rijsttafel Royal besteld; kregen niet wat er op het menu stond. Dadar isi bijv. was fou yong hai. Het leek wel of de maaltijd afgehaald was bij een middelmatige Chinees. Dit heeft niets met de Indonesische keuken te maken!

A true legendary Indonesian restaurant in Rotterdam! It's run by Chinese (efficient, polite) and caters for loyal clientele who are mainly Dutch. However the food is good. The fried noodles (bakmi goreng) is authentic and scrumptious. Located at Kralingse Plas and the restaurant has a commanding view of the lake. Highly recommended. If you are not familiar with Indonesian food (I was born and raised in Indonesia) you can always opt for Dutch-influenced item such as tomato soup and combine it for example with pangsit goreng.

Mooie restaurant aan het Kralingse meer. We kwamen voor echt Indonesisch eten. Echter was het gemaakt door Chinezen en was de smaak ook niet Indisch. De drankjes waren oké. Bediening heel gastvrij en aardig.

Sometimes I dream of Minang Kabau and then I see dishes with satay or better yet the Babi Pangang that they also deliver to the table in a super spicy version... whether we are dining together or with my favorite ladies, it is simply wonderful....formidable....sensational, etc., etc....a building with a lot of history on the banks of the Kralingse Plas....with a beautiful view, so if you can sit on the terrace....with a very nice wine list...with very sweet service and so on...oh yes...don't forget the decor, which is also beautiful of course...whatever I want to say... Going here to have a nice meal in a restaurant with only positives is really a treat....

I received this tip from a friend and after a brisk walk we enjoyed a delicious meal. Small portions (yes you can just order them here), and they were enough for us. With a delicious gado gado with chicken satay. A gado gado with lamb and a number of small dishes. And to drink just a cup of jasmine tea.... It was delicious, enjoyed delicious Indian food, great company and a beautiful view of the Kralingse Plas... Sometimes life is wonderful.

This is by far our favorite restaurant... we are not from Rotterdam but we would happily drive a distance to eat here... The service is great, the food is delicious and the portions are large… And the location is perfect with a view of the Rotterdam skyline In the summer you can relax on the lovely terrace. But it is also very nice to eat in the attractive restaurant Anyone who is negative about this restaurant either has no good taste or is just sour people...sorry but that's true. Absolutely recommended

Wij werden warm verwelkomd en konden gelijk aan ons gereserveerde tafel plaatsnemen...de bediening was vriendelijk en behulpzaam met het uitkiezen van onze gerechten...het eten was heerlijk...al in al een gezellige avond gehad.

Uitstekende eetgelegenheid, erg gezellig. Heel fijne gastvrouw en gastheer. De gerechten overheerlijk en het uitzicht op de Kralingerplas en de skyline van Rotterdam zijn uniek.

Fantastische rijsttafel gegeten.

Gisteren hebben wij voor de eerste keer hier gegeten met vrienden (4 personen) en wij vonden het een prachtige locatie in het bos aan de Kralingse Plas met de skyline van Rotterdam op de achtergrond. Het restaurant zit in een mooi en bijzonder gebouw en we vonden allemaal dat de sfeer in het restaurant gezellig, het personeel vriendelijk en het eten erg lekker was. We komen hier zeker nog een keer terug!

Altijd ff lekker op zondag middag

Wij verheugden ons er enorm op, om wederom met vrienden heerlijk te gaan genieten van de Indonesische keuken bij Minang Kabau. Zó jammer dat de kwaliteit van het eten zoveel minder is geworden. De meeste gerechten waren wat flauw en smaakloos. Mogelijk een nieuwe kok? Ook de bediening was niet erg alert, het duurde heel lang voor we een 2e drankje konden bestellen. Tip voor de eigenaar: Neem de juiste maatregelen om er weer een succesvolle zaak van te maken, en super tevreden klanten te behouden. Aan de locatie zal het niet liggen, want die is perfect.

Wij kozen voor dit restaurant vanwege de locatie, de estethiek van het restaurant zelf en de Indonesische keuken. Het restaurant was wel kleiner dan ik had verwacht van foto's maar m'n verdere verwachtingen waren uitgekomen. Hele mooie rustgevende omgeving, prachtig uitzicht, goed eten. Ik was op dat moment slecht ter been maar we konden goed parkeren voor de deur. Ze hebben kindvriendelijke gerechten en het was geen probleem om m'n baby aan tafel de fles te geven. Je kunt er als veganist ook goed eten.

Mijn subjectieve indruk is dat het steeds moeilijker wordt een goed Indonesisch restaurant te vinden. Door de jaren heen zijn er heel wat bekende restaurants verdwenen en dat is jammer omdat de authentieke Indonesische keuken naar mijn smaak tot s werelds beste keukens behoort. Overigens bestaat er niet 1 authentieke Indonesische smaak, het zijn er vele al naar gelang de herkomst . Minang Kabau houdt zich al jaren moedig staande. Ik kom er met een zekere regelmaat voor de rijsttafel. Die is oké maar niet meer dan dat . De smaak is tamelijk vlak en weinig uitgesproken. Als ik het eten in een rapportcijfer zou moeten uitdrukken dan zal dat een 6,5 zijn. Voldoende maar niet meer dan dat . Dit alles is een relatief oordeel gemeten aan de maat hoe rijk en smaakvol een Indonesische rijsttafel had kunnen zijn . Dat is het dus net niet .

We hebben daar heerlijk gegeten goede service goede bediening

In gezelschap heerlijk buiten gegeten. Het vlees nergens anders zo voortreffelijk als bij Minang Kabau. Had babi-pangang met nasi goreng besteld. Goede service en vriendelijk relaxed personeel.

Service was belabberd. Geen welkom, geen begeleiden naar tafel, bij vragen weinig of geen antwoord. Het was bijna alsof ze hun best deden om je te negeren. Eten was goed van smaak en prima hoeveelheden. Pittigheid op kaart van 1-3 pepers aangegeven, maar zelfs 3 pepers is niet echt pittig. Locatie met uitzicht op terras mooi. Binnen boven weinig zicht.
