Restaurant Momus in Wijk 00 Centrum

What a lovely place this is; beautiful inside, and the outdoor terrace is super cozy. Delicious food and very friendly staff. We will definitely be back!

Yesterday the food was acceptable, though the fries required a magnifying glass. Today is a completely different story. My cocktail contained so much ice, and therefore water, that I couldn't taste the alcohol, nor the strawberry flavor. The pasta was tasty, but the "gambas" saganaki was a small casserole with 4 peeled prawns in a watery substance, filled with half a can of olives and 10 cubes of feta, briefly put in the oven with some Parmesan and served with baguette. It was far too salty, and the waiter didn't speak a word of Dutch. I paid 25 euros for this alone; never again. The chef couldn't issue a credit because I had already eaten half of it... 2 little prawns and some "sauce" on a piece of bread. I could still get dessert, but my stomach was suffering from the excessive salt. Oh well, back home tomorrow for real prawns.

The food was top-notch, super service. They also take your allergies into account. Highly recommended!!

Had lunch yesterday (26-08-2026). Ordered boneless ribs..... this dish was inedible, didn't look like boneless ribs either.... thick chunks of tough meat. I pointed this out, and was told: we make that with pork belly....? Or asked if I wanted to have it again. I indicated that I hadn't ordered pork neck, and that I don't like it either. The only thing she could do was give me the cappuccino for free...... at the very least, I wouldn't want to have to pay for the dish. Unfortunately, I won't be going here again.

We had a delicious meal and compliments to the waiters! We were able to celebrate our 1st anniversary here perfectly. A very beautiful location with a nice atmosphere, and all the staff were also very friendly. Plenty of food options; the steak and the pasta were delicious. We will definitely go here again!

We stopped by and were pleasantly surprised about the the whole experience! The service was quick and the staff is very polite. We also received a creamy shot on the house that was incredible! Would love to come back soon

We ate here during the Andre Rieu concert. Both the service and the menu offered were poor and insufficient. There were bread baskets, but no one asked if they needed refilling. The choice of the main course was taken. The starter had to be decided on the spot and was served immediately; with both the salmon tartare and the carpaccio, you could see that they had been prepared well in advance. The salad garnish was completely lifeless due to the temperature. The rest was uninspired as well. When the main course arrived, my chosen steak lay on a bed of dark beans, a little cream, and some stray pieces of baby potato. The sauce provided at least some flavor. I decided to start eating anyway, because otherwise it would get cold, and I was still hoping for a dessert of a potato garnish. My girlfriend chose the salmon; this also arrived on the plate completely overcooked, drained of moisture and protein, with a similar garnish. She ate half of it and was done with it afterwards due to the disappointing quality. I ate the rest afterwards just to avoid being hungry. The plates were cleared quickly afterwards. Without asking a single question about what was served. When the waiter came to the table a little later and asked if we wanted coffee or tea, I said that I had hoped he could provide extra potato garnish, as I had found the portion to be far too small. He fully understood my question but could do nothing about it because it had been decided that way from higher up. After this, we were served desserts which were presented in a small preserving jar. No more than 4 or 5 spoonfuls of mousse with a sauce and a chocolate butterfly; that was it. Later in between, you could order snacks, and we ended up going to the waffle stand ourselves to satisfy the rest of our cravings/hunger. All in all, a very disappointing culinary evening on this terrace. The concert, on the other hand, was nice and enjoyable. But no, definitely not this arrangement here again.

Pleasant terrace. Fish was greasy, fries and salad tasty. There is clearly too little staff. You have to wait a long time to be allowed to pay.

I ordered a Pornstar Martini cocktail, but it seemed as though not all the ingredients were in it; for example, the red vodka was missing. Only a small glass of Martini was served alongside it. I pointed out to the waiter that I believed not everything was in the cocktail, but he acted as if I didn't understand or was mistaken. It is an expensive cocktail, and I found it very disappointing to realize that both the quality and the service were very letdown.

We sat inside with the air conditioning during the heat. It was quite bearable in there. Beautiful interior, large terrace. The food was delicious. We were served politely by friendly staff. Highly recommended.

Amazing experience. Best sweet potato fries, burger, and also a tasty lava cake. Highly recommend!

Yesterday we were at Momus on the terrace and ordered a fish platter. The platter included smoked/cooked fish that tasted awful from the first bite. I swallowed a piece. My girlfriend didn't eat any of it. The result: I was very sick for the next few hours; the fish was bad! Never again!

There was a coughing German breathing down my neck the whole time, very annoying. The staff wasn't very friendly. Afterwards, the order went wrong. Had to wait half an hour for a new one. And I'll probably be sick tomorrow too. You won't see me back here again.

Had dinner here with colleagues whilst at a conference. Lovely grand interior. Really friendly and attentive team. I had the black Angus steak...awesome, nicely cooked as asked for with excellent trimmings and chips, good beer selection and reasonably priced...nicest meal I had in Maastricht.

We tried the place for the first time today and the cocktails and lunch were perfect. They had a problem with the kitchen so we had to wait for a while but the manager offered us the cocktails to compensate. Over 20e of drinks on the house when most of the restaurants would have said nothing. Safe to say you guys will saw us next time we are in town.

We were disappointed; upon arrival, our table was set, but it hadn't been wiped clean and was full of crumbs. We then ordered food and asked for an extra portion of fries, which they had forgotten to order. 15 minutes later, after asking again, we finally received them. Very disappointing.

I'm gonna be honest bro. Had to wait a long time for a despo man… 45 minutes already and still nothing… it's really faya mannn. Can't say anything about that food goon yet. We're still sitting here anyway

What a cozy restaurant, friendly staff and delicious food

On a night when everything was full, in January 2026, we managed to get a table for a large group at Momus. They accommodated us, the food was good, and the price was fair in my opinion. We received good service, even though the restaurant and the city were crowded.

I enjoyed my linguine, but the standouts of the dining experience were the ambiance and the whipped garlic butter on crusty bread. I could have eaten only bread for dinner and been absolutely content.

We arrived here on Friday from the north of the Netherlands, and received a warm and hospitable welcome. Delicious coffee and a delicious fresh pie, excellent service, and a great explanation of the building. It was very interesting for us. Thanks again for the top-quality food and service❣️

A very atmospheric à la carte restaurant. There are no staff members here; they truly are passionate about their work. The Black Angus sirloin was absolutely delicious, cooked perfectly medium-rare, without a single sinew, tender to the last bite. It's been a long time since I've had such a delicious and tender sirloin at a restaurant.

We had a delicious meal at Momus for a reasonable price. The staff were very friendly. There was a very large group dining there, and it was a bit noisy. The interior probably needs some maintenance/painting. If that doesn't bother you, I can definitely recommend Momus.

Unfortunately, our visit was disappointing. We were very disappointed that we wanted to order two different wines, but they turned out to be out of stock. Furthermore, our bottles of wine weren't poured for us, which we felt was careless. The food was also disappointing: the ribeye was very tough and didn't meet our expectations. All in all, not an experience worth repeating.

Despite the crowds due to the Christmas market, they made a spot for us—5 adults and 1 stroller. The food was delicious.

Fish and chips for 17 euros is unfortunately very little and absolutely too expensive.

Had lunch here yesterday. We reserved a table in advance, but called later to say we'd be a bit late due to traffic. No problem. The staff immediately recognized us upon arrival. We had a delicious chicken dish with fries (not huge, but it's lunch, not dinner). The Pornstar Martini was also well-prepared. Friendly service throughout. We'll definitely be back in Maastricht!

Nice restaurant, the meatballs from Liège were very good, highly recommended! The mixed grill and hamburger were okay but nothing special. The (ladies') restroom could have been a bit cleaner, but all in all, a good experience at this restaurant!

Lunch was mediocre. Food served on printed paper isn't particularly appetizing, and it doesn't add anything special. The service was friendly.

We didn't eat there, just drank cocktails and beers. The covered terrace was heated and already decorated with Christmas lights.

While most local restaurants served drinks, coffee, and pastries, here we could enjoy a delicious dinner and a wonderful dessert. I'd like to thank the lady who served us for her kindness and professionalism.

An unforgettable party at Momus in Maastricht For my 40th work anniversary, I was looking for a special venue – and I more than found it at Momus in Maastricht. What a fantastic place! The atmosphere is warm, stylish, and inviting, and from the very first moment, we felt incredibly welcome. We enjoyed the many delicious sharing snacks, each of which was tastefully and beautifully presented. The staff was friendly, attentive, and truly thoughtful. Everything went smoothly, allowing us to fully focus on celebrating this special milestone. An absolute highlight was the beautiful balcony, overlooking perhaps the most beautiful square in the Netherlands: the Vrijthof. Here, we were able to take stunning group photos that will forever be remembered. To conclude, we spent an hour in the basement cocktail bar: Somewhere in the Middle (SITM). What a surprise! An atmospheric, intimate venue where the cocktail shakers turned every creation into a show. Exciting, stylish, and the perfect way to end the party. In short: a fantastic party at a unique location, with top-notch service, delicious food, and a surprising ending to a day you'll never forget.

Momus Maastricht is actually a restaurant, but we only stopped in for coffee. The atmosphere was nice and comfortable, and it was a pleasant place to sit. Our coffee arrived a little late and was cold, but it wasn't bad; it was okay. While the service was slow, the staff was polite and friendly. Overall, while not the most ideal place for a coffee, the atmosphere and location are nice. ☕🙂

We were able to choose a cozy table outside without a reservation. The waiter was very friendly and noticed when we needed something. Service from the kitchen may have taken a little longer, but we were very surprised by the quality of the food. Definitely recommended for a leisurely dinner or drinks at the Vrijthof.

After visiting my aunt, we both got very sick. We both ate the farmer's omelet. At home, we both vomited and had severe diarrhea!

For a brasserie in the middle of a tourist area, we ate well. The meat and the cooking were very good. Good service. Enough starch. However, we are good eaters and when I see people saying that there wasn't enough, I find it a shame to put down the restaurants, so more than adequate for a tourist area.

The "Illuminati di rosso" setting created a unique atmosphere, beautiful locations, and excellent food served in a truly charming and welcoming room. Worth a try.

Three of us ate there. One of the three meals was absolutely terrible. Overcooked, hard-to-cut chicken schnitzel, and the fries served with it were the last of the bag --> hard, small, and greasy. Vegetables weren't served with the dishes, so we asked for fried seasonal vegetables. These were a disgrace, greasy, and mostly filled with onions. Too bad, never again for us.

Even though there were many customers, we were served quickly. The Australian steak was cooked perfectly rare, and the extensive side dishes were surprisingly delicious. The mixed grill was also superb.

A centrally located restaurant/bistro, and if I understand correctly, you can sit, eat, and drink here during André Rieu concerts. We weren't there for that reason, though; we just stopped in for a quick lunch. Everything was delicious, and the prices were absolutely reasonable for the location. The service was attentive, and the restrooms were cleaner, so I recommend it.

We chose this restaurant quite by chance during an afternoon of shopping in Maastricht. The dishes we saw were very appealing. We were helped quickly by friendly staff. The food was also delicious! They even asked if everything was good, and it certainly was. A great place to eat!

I went to see André Rieu for the first time on the terrace at Momus. Kudos to you for being able to provide such service to 300 people in such a short time, serving a delicious menu, and a wonderful place to enjoy the concert. Thank you very much, and who knows, maybe we'll see you someday!

In the evening we settled down at Momus, having been there before, took a seat on the terrace, the first service was in English, the second and third more local 😄, but everyone was very quick and friendly, it was not the busiest at that time. The food and drinks were quickly taken and the wait was not that long, everyone was happy with their dish, mine was a mixed grill, where everything was tasty and also beautifully presented, sauce (port) also tasty, they also liked the fish and chips! Just like the Luikse meatballs, which were not really known by our Dutch friends, but a good choice in retrospect 👍, the desserts, parfait "yummy", the dame blanche was tasty, but the chocolate sauce was not really great, coffee) cappuccino was good 👍, all in all a nice/tasty experience.

This shop is in front of Vrijthof Square. The staff are friendly and helpful ❤️ I went there for lunch. Brie cheese with arugula, nuts and syrup. It was delicious 😋 The atmosphere was good and I was able to relax. It's a really good shop ❤️

I have celebrated my birthday last year together with my wife during André Rieu concert last year. Excellent food, superb service, splendid atmosphere. We have thoroughly enjoyed our meal and concert and we are planning to come back this year for my 60th anniversary birthday in July. Many thanks.

I came here with my sisters for dinner and the cocktails were super tasty and reasonable. The staff often asked if everything was to your liking and I thought that was great service. Not many people do that anymore. Definitely recommended!

Very bad food, pasta was a child's portion. Really not recommended. Staff unfriendly and had to wait 15 minutes until they asked if we wanted something to drink. When I indicated this, I got the response from the manager that this was a normal portion. I normally never finish my plates, but after this we went to McDonald's. No compensation or anything received. After review received a gift voucher and solved very professionally, food was tasty and staff very friendly. Everyone has bad days, thank you!

We had a lovely workgroup meeting here. The location lent a sense of old world charm to the celebrations on tomorrow's Data Management. The drinks and food were outstanding with a variety for all .

Had a nice lunch, despite the fact that there is no allergen menu, we were able to eat well thanks to the helpful staff. The staff was friendly, it took a while before we could order, but the drinks came quickly after ordering.

Had to be in Maastricht on Monday 26 May and to combine the necessary with the pleasant, thanks to the wonderful weather, I made it a nice day. In the evening I looked for a place to eat where I normally don't go for the massive ones like on the Vrijthof. But ended up on the terrace at Restaurant Momus on the Vrijthof and ordered the Austrailian Black Angus Round Steak of 250 grams. And that turned out to be an absolutely very good choice. Because it was really perfectly cooked, and also exceptionally tender and very tasty. And also very nice with various vegetables including warm cherries (a good choice to strengthen the taste palette) and served with several side dishes. And I don't do it often but when I went to the toilet in the restaurant I went to the kitchen to compliment the chef on his Black Angus that was really perfectly cooked for me, but also the excellent quality of the meat. But also very nice and friendly service where I also had a few nice short conversations because it was not really busy on that Monday evening. So when I am in Maastricht again... I will probably definitely 'arrive' again and my kind of 'foster daughter' who studies in Maastricht and lives in a room, if she is not just before her exams, would really like to come along. 😉

I am normally not a fan of mass/touristy places but on the terrace on the Vrijthof side of this restaurant it was great to stay. Delicious healthy sandwich and friendly service.

Used to be our go to place.. now new menu.. I will never order a club sandwich again. Nasty cold slices of chicken, cheap cheese and blobs of cocktail sauce.. It used to be sooo good with that yummy orange bread..
