Restaurant Momus in Wijk 00 Centrum

Unfortunately, our visit was disappointing. We were very disappointed that we wanted to order two different wines, but they turned out to be out of stock. Furthermore, our bottles of wine weren't poured for us, which we felt was careless. The food was also disappointing: the ribeye was very tough and didn't meet our expectations. All in all, not an experience worth repeating.

What a cozy restaurant, friendly staff and delicious food

Despite the crowds due to the Christmas market, they made a spot for us—5 adults and 1 stroller. The food was delicious.

Had lunch here yesterday. We reserved a table in advance, but called later to say we'd be a bit late due to traffic. No problem. The staff immediately recognized us upon arrival. We had a delicious chicken dish with fries (not huge, but it's lunch, not dinner). The Pornstar Martini was also well-prepared. Friendly service throughout. We'll definitely be back in Maastricht!

Nice restaurant, the meatballs from Liège were very good, highly recommended! The mixed grill and hamburger were okay but nothing special. The (ladies') restroom could have been a bit cleaner, but all in all, a good experience at this restaurant!

Lunch was mediocre. Food served on printed paper isn't particularly appetizing, and it doesn't add anything special. The service was friendly.

We didn't eat there, just drank cocktails and beers. The covered terrace was heated and already decorated with Christmas lights.

While most local restaurants served drinks, coffee, and pastries, here we could enjoy a delicious dinner and a wonderful dessert. I'd like to thank the lady who served us for her kindness and professionalism.

An unforgettable party at Momus in Maastricht For my 40th work anniversary, I was looking for a special venue – and I more than found it at Momus in Maastricht. What a fantastic place! The atmosphere is warm, stylish, and inviting, and from the very first moment, we felt incredibly welcome. We enjoyed the many delicious sharing snacks, each of which was tastefully and beautifully presented. The staff was friendly, attentive, and truly thoughtful. Everything went smoothly, allowing us to fully focus on celebrating this special milestone. An absolute highlight was the beautiful balcony, overlooking perhaps the most beautiful square in the Netherlands: the Vrijthof. Here, we were able to take stunning group photos that will forever be remembered. To conclude, we spent an hour in the basement cocktail bar: Somewhere in the Middle (SITM). What a surprise! An atmospheric, intimate venue where the cocktail shakers turned every creation into a show. Exciting, stylish, and the perfect way to end the party. In short: a fantastic party at a unique location, with top-notch service, delicious food, and a surprising ending to a day you'll never forget.

Momus Maastricht is actually a restaurant, but we only stopped in for coffee. The atmosphere was nice and comfortable, and it was a pleasant place to sit. Our coffee arrived a little late and was cold, but it wasn't bad; it was okay. While the service was slow, the staff was polite and friendly. Overall, while not the most ideal place for a coffee, the atmosphere and location are nice. ☕🙂

We were able to choose a cozy table outside without a reservation. The waiter was very friendly and noticed when we needed something. Service from the kitchen may have taken a little longer, but we were very surprised by the quality of the food. Definitely recommended for a leisurely dinner or drinks at the Vrijthof.

After visiting my aunt, we both got very sick. We both ate the farmer's omelet. At home, we both vomited and had severe diarrhea!

For a brasserie in the middle of a tourist area, we ate well. The meat and the cooking were very good. Good service. Enough starch. However, we are good eaters and when I see people saying that there wasn't enough, I find it a shame to put down the restaurants, so more than adequate for a tourist area.

The "Illuminati di rosso" setting created a unique atmosphere, beautiful locations, and excellent food served in a truly charming and welcoming room. Worth a try.

Even though there were many customers, we were served quickly. The Australian steak was cooked perfectly rare, and the extensive side dishes were surprisingly delicious. The mixed grill was also superb.

Three of us ate there. One of the three meals was absolutely terrible. Overcooked, hard-to-cut chicken schnitzel, and the fries served with it were the last of the bag --> hard, small, and greasy. Vegetables weren't served with the dishes, so we asked for fried seasonal vegetables. These were a disgrace, greasy, and mostly filled with onions. Too bad, never again for us.

We had dinner at Momus yesterday. What a wonderful setting. The food was truly delicious. The service was very friendly, and the host/owner had a pleasant chat. We will definitely be back. Alex Miranda

A centrally located restaurant/bistro, and if I understand correctly, you can sit, eat, and drink here during André Rieu concerts. We weren't there for that reason, though; we just stopped in for a quick lunch. Everything was delicious, and the prices were absolutely reasonable for the location. The service was attentive, and the restrooms were cleaner, so I recommend it.

We chose this restaurant quite by chance during an afternoon of shopping in Maastricht. The dishes we saw were very appealing. We were helped quickly by friendly staff. The food was also delicious! They even asked if everything was good, and it certainly was. A great place to eat!

I went to see André Rieu for the first time on the terrace at Momus. Kudos to you for being able to provide such service to 300 people in such a short time, serving a delicious menu, and a wonderful place to enjoy the concert. Thank you very much, and who knows, maybe we'll see you someday!

In the evening we settled down at Momus, having been there before, took a seat on the terrace, the first service was in English, the second and third more local 😄, but everyone was very quick and friendly, it was not the busiest at that time. The food and drinks were quickly taken and the wait was not that long, everyone was happy with their dish, mine was a mixed grill, where everything was tasty and also beautifully presented, sauce (port) also tasty, they also liked the fish and chips! Just like the Luikse meatballs, which were not really known by our Dutch friends, but a good choice in retrospect 👍, the desserts, parfait "yummy", the dame blanche was tasty, but the chocolate sauce was not really great, coffee) cappuccino was good 👍, all in all a nice/tasty experience.

This shop is in front of Vrijthof Square. The staff are friendly and helpful ❤️ I went there for lunch. Brie cheese with arugula, nuts and syrup. It was delicious 😋 The atmosphere was good and I was able to relax. It's a really good shop ❤️

I have celebrated my birthday last year together with my wife during André Rieu concert last year. Excellent food, superb service, splendid atmosphere. We have thoroughly enjoyed our meal and concert and we are planning to come back this year for my 60th anniversary birthday in July. Many thanks.

I came here with my sisters for dinner and the cocktails were super tasty and reasonable. The staff often asked if everything was to your liking and I thought that was great service. Not many people do that anymore. Definitely recommended!

Very bad food, pasta was a child's portion. Really not recommended. Staff unfriendly and had to wait 15 minutes until they asked if we wanted something to drink. When I indicated this, I got the response from the manager that this was a normal portion. I normally never finish my plates, but after this we went to McDonald's. No compensation or anything received. After review received a gift voucher and solved very professionally, food was tasty and staff very friendly. Everyone has bad days, thank you!

We had a lovely workgroup meeting here. The location lent a sense of old world charm to the celebrations on tomorrow's Data Management. The drinks and food were outstanding with a variety for all .

Had a nice lunch, despite the fact that there is no allergen menu, we were able to eat well thanks to the helpful staff. The staff was friendly, it took a while before we could order, but the drinks came quickly after ordering.

Had to be in Maastricht on Monday 26 May and to combine the necessary with the pleasant, thanks to the wonderful weather, I made it a nice day. In the evening I looked for a place to eat where I normally don't go for the massive ones like on the Vrijthof. But ended up on the terrace at Restaurant Momus on the Vrijthof and ordered the Austrailian Black Angus Round Steak of 250 grams. And that turned out to be an absolutely very good choice. Because it was really perfectly cooked, and also exceptionally tender and very tasty. And also very nice with various vegetables including warm cherries (a good choice to strengthen the taste palette) and served with several side dishes. And I don't do it often but when I went to the toilet in the restaurant I went to the kitchen to compliment the chef on his Black Angus that was really perfectly cooked for me, but also the excellent quality of the meat. But also very nice and friendly service where I also had a few nice short conversations because it was not really busy on that Monday evening. So when I am in Maastricht again... I will probably definitely 'arrive' again and my kind of 'foster daughter' who studies in Maastricht and lives in a room, if she is not just before her exams, would really like to come along. 😉

The onion soup was amazing. The black angus steak was perfectly done, as I requested Medium Rare. I recommend this place wholeheartedly. 5 stars !!

I am normally not a fan of mass/touristy places but on the terrace on the Vrijthof side of this restaurant it was great to stay. Delicious healthy sandwich and friendly service.

Used to be our go to place.. now new menu.. I will never order a club sandwich again. Nasty cold slices of chicken, cheap cheese and blobs of cocktail sauce.. It used to be sooo good with that yummy orange bread..

Wonderful lunch spot in Maastricht on the Vrijthof. Excellent coffee and aperitif, lovely background music 🎶 piano Bread with croquette, slices a bit too thick and sparse on the plate. Mustard in bags, I can't find it. Put that in a small sauce container or something. ⚠️Owner's response? Sir, please look at the photo with your card on it momus. Also take a look at your furnishings It is indeed your business!! Maybe you now put it in containers, when I got bags

When looking for a spot in the sun we ended up at Momus because people were leaving there, one of the many terraces at 't Vrijthof. We had a lovely sit down with a well-prepared cappuccino and then another drink with a tasty snack.

Nice location, friendly staff. It could have been a little quicker but it was still good and relaxed. Good selection of drinks and a nice greeting from the kitchen (liqueur with cream).

We went to Momus with a group of ten friends and sat together on the terrace. The atmosphere was nice, so it started well. After 15 minutes no one had asked us what we wanted to eat or drink. In the end - because the waiters kept walking past us - they made it easy for them and wrote down on a note what we wanted to drink: a few cocktails, some glasses of wine and some soft drinks for those who still had to drive. After we submitted our self-written order list, we waited 45 (!) minutes until we received the (some of the wrong) drinks. In short: a disappointing experience, which made us leave the food.

Tonight we had dinner with a group at Momus. Prior to this evening we looked at the reviews and decided to give the restaurant the benefit of the doubt. Unfortunately, this did not work out well for us. It took a while before we received our food. The starter was reminiscent of Unox's spicy tomato soup. The main course was served lukewarm and the portion was small. Partly because we had to wait so long for our main course, we decided to eat it as quickly as possible. There was also a pile of frozen spinach on the plate; strange for a restaurant where you expect quality, not to mention the pathetic portion of fries that consisted of small, over-fried pieces. As a precaution, we did not order dessert. During checkout we indicated that something had gone wrong. Something could be done with the price. Although we weren't looking to get a discount, the owner decided to actually charge us the full pound. My question is: To what extent do you want guests to enjoy the ambiance and quality for which they pay? Hopefully some lessons will be learned from the comments, which I believe were not unknown.

Had to wait 1.5 hours for food and the food was terrible. The fish of the day was inedible.

The service was downright rude. And the coffee we ordered was simply cold. We were sitting on the terrace and the parasol was folded and my friend had to duck quickly because otherwise she would get a point in her eye. I wouldn't recommend anyone to order something from Momus.

An okay tent. Since Corona, good staff in the catering industry is hard to find. Not assertive and you have to continuously indicate that you (still) want to order something. The schnitzel is also not a culinary highlight, and a little more than a handful of fries would have been nice.

Service was correct, drinks delivered quickly, aperol spritz was not served in the ratio of 3 prosecco-2 aperol-1 spring water with gas. But where? At home! Main course was tasty, tenderloin skewer. Potato and sweet potato fries are delicious. Dessert tiramisu was homemade, but mainly whipped cream, mewoh!! Still highly recommended because of the hospitable feeling and friendly staff!!

Hopeless restaurant. On Valentine's Day with a limited menu. (no Valentine's menu) Starter with mackerel salad unfortunately not available. So then But Carpaccio. Then main course, trio of fish not available. So I ordered meat. Unfortunately, it had already been sitting on the serving counter for 15 to 30 minutes. It was almost cold now. In the meantime, our partner had to eat the fish that had already been served. When that was finished, the dish still came and it was ok. She wanted to offer a drink as compensation, but we still had half a bottle of wine left. So a little discount on that one missed dish. Unfortunately, Valentine's evening was ruined by the restaurant

Very quiet on a Tuesday evening. Food was very tasty, portions on the small side. It took a while for the order to be taken (despite the empty case), so there was no time for dessert due to a theater visit.

A very nice restaurant with pleasant staff. You can indicate when you want to eat or whether you want something to drink first. Highly recommended and we will definitely go back again when we are in Maastricht.

Nice restaurant, service ok but not really fast. Eat less anyway. Pasta carbonara with (too) much bacon but very little flavor, pasta with tomato with burrata was ok but burrata very hard and cold. If you are hungry, don't have a schnitzel, because it was very small (it was only 15.50 but it was recommended so you might expect too much). Few fries but a mountain of mayonnaise. Tiramisu was tasty but not tiramisu. The other dishes may be ok, but don't take the specialties from the menu.

Very nice restaurant that is very nicely decorated, it is almost like going back in time. Very friendly staff. There are both Dutch-speaking and English-speaking waiters available. The tagliatelle with pesto and pistachio was very tasty. The tiramisu was pleasant but not the best, as the glass became emptier it started to look more like porridge. The cheesecake, on the other hand, was delicious, highly recommended.

It’s a historic restaurant for 1839 with beautiful interior decorations. Service was good but the food was below average for the price paid. Steak tartare was bland and did not come with the egg yolk, sweet potato fries were soaked in oil and the truffle mayo had zero flavor. Ordered nachos as well and the guacamole was more mayo with avocado flavor, the salsa tasted like catchup. At least the burger was ok.

After I got my table I waited 10 minutes for service, but unfortunately I was ignored by the staff. When I had to ask the waiter for a card, the waitress rolled her eyes at me. I had to wait another 15 minutes for drinks and half an hour for my food, but this was understandable because it was busy. Unfortunately, the food was disappointing: fries were cold, veal was completely overcooked and inedible, sweet potato fries came without Parmesan or truffle mayo, but that's what it says on the menu. When I brought up my problems with someone from the ministry, I did not receive a serious response. Extra negative points for the sexist toilet sign.

Didn't get a menu after 20 minutes but asked. Fries arrived cold at the table and we didn't get parmesan or truffle mayo for the sweet potato fries, even though this was on the menu. Veal was the worst, super dry and well done. Literally like chewing on a piece of leather. Vegetables were tasty. Operation poorly coordinated; everyone just runs and does whatever. The sexist toilet sign was inappropriate and did not match the interior. If you say something about it you will be told 'yes, it has been there for sooo long'. Prehistoric backward excuse.

Delicious food, excellent service

Food was delicious, nothing to complain about. However, all orders took very late to arrive and the portions very small. There were four of us and all four share these comments. It was busy but not too noisy.

We had made a reservation in advance, which turned out to be really necessary. A friendly welcome and a very nice experience with the waitress who spoke English but understood Dutch. The food was very tasty, unfortunately the tiramisu that is made in-house was no longer in stock so we have to go back again!
