We went there for dinner. The food was good, the service was very present and explained everything well. My wife was pregnant and they proactively suggested great alternatives. Nice place

A four-course menu featuring international dishes from various cultures. The food was delicious and the explanations about the various courses were excellent. Highly recommended. We made a reservation through Forks and used a voucher to pay for the meal. Many restaurants don't accept vouchers with a Forks discount, but thankfully, Nomads does. We'll definitely be back.

Good restaurant, friendly staff and a unique concept

Extremely disappointing experience at Nomads Amsterdam. We waited 1.5 hours to be served our first course, while every table around us was eating. Only after repeatedly asking did we find out the kitchen had made a mistake and simply failed to communicate it. No proactive update, no apology until much later. The food, when it finally arrived, was bland and completely lacking flavor, especially frustrating after such an unreasonable wait. To make matters worse, we were given dirty cutlery, which is unacceptable at any restaurant, let alone one positioning itself as premium. Our group included two pregnant women, and the overall attitude and handling of the situation showed zero care or hospitality. The experience felt unwelcoming and careless from start to finish. Poor service, poor food, and poor attention to basic hygiene. We will not be returning, and I would strongly caution others before choosing this place.

A really nice place in Oost. The 4-course chef's menu is highly recommended! The wine pairing was a bit disappointing, so I recommend choosing your own wines. The service was friendly, and all in all, we had a wonderful evening!

Very nice atmosphere and good service

We went here for the 5-course menu. We had high expectations based on all the reviews and photos online. Unfortunately, it was a huge disappointment. Two of the five courses were really not good. The dishes were nothing like the regular menu. Definitely not worth the money 👎🏼

Delicious, surprising food and nice friendly service.

A fantastic taste experience. Every dish was delicious (5 courses). And the friendliest service (thanks, Melvin). We dropped in to avoid a traffic jam on the A10. What a wonderful stroke of luck!

I had the five-course vegetarian menu with wine pairing. The dishes looked beautiful, and each dish was accompanied by a description of its contents. The flavor of one of the five dishes was fantastic, and the other four were excellent. The wines were good.

We had a wonderful meal at Nomads Oosterpoort! The Japanese dishes were particularly outstanding. The service was fantastic, and when the red wine is served at just the right temperature (wonderfully chilled), you're doing really well. Hats off to Nomads!

As we entered it took a while before we could order a drink. Then finally someone came with the menu and instead of handing it to us began some ludicrous story about how each six months the cook goed out into to the world for inspiration. Sure. Only im not interested cause i want a drink and order food. He then proceeded to say that the theme this time round was "street food". Later in it became obvious this place is some nouvelle cuisine wannabe with 5 small bites passing for a 5 course dinner and you leaving the place craving for something to eat. I ordered a drink " champaign beer" and we ordered food. Food came. But no drink. I asked. They said it was on its way. Then we ordered a bottle of wine. The wine was good. It was a good Italian wine. But it arrived before my starter drink ever arrived and so I cancelled the starter drink that i had been curious for. The first dish was a combination of some green cream (avocado maybe) some sweet jelly and white stuff that had a bunch of parmesan in it. That is a ridiculous combination. The tastes just dont go together. Next up was fish. Mackerel with onions and a sauce. That was really good. Then they brought the drink I had cancelled cause of them bringing the wine first. Then came a fairly tasteless piece of meat (it was lacking salt) and after that a reasonable desert. So we had the five courses. But its all tiny and small like in nouvelle cuisine so you're left hungry. It has absolutely nothing to do with the professed theme of Asian streetfood. The place is nice and the service friendly. But its pricey and the food isnt up to par. Hence no five stars. If you want to chat with a few bites and good drinks its fine For a dinner there is an excellent yemenite restaurant with rude service across the street.

A wonderful evening where we were treated to all sorts of street food. Everything was delicious, and we thoroughly enjoyed the explanations. We even included the wine pairing, which made it perfect!

Compliments to the service. Very professional. The mackerel was truly a top-notch dish, and the veal cheek was perfectly prepared. Suggestions: serve something spicy with the Mexican and Asian-inspired dishes. Table water shouldn't be included on the bill. A complimentary roll with herb butter/sauce upon arrival wouldn't be out of place for a restaurant that wants to raise its profile. All in all: highly recommended!

It’s a little off the beaten path if you’re staying in the center, but it’s worth the trip!

We went on a saturday night and had the 5 course meal without wine pairing. The food was very good and the concept of the restaurant is lovely and thought through. The staff were very friendly but I reckon they were understaffed that evening. When we arrived there were only a few other guests, still we had to wait very long for the courses to arrive. After two hours we got the second of five courses while other guests who arrived and ordered after us were two or three courses ahead. However, all in all it was a good experience and the food is definitely something I would recommend others to try. The cocktails are great as well.

What a lovely spot you have here, on benches with cushions in the sun! Perfect for that. The chai latte, despite being served in a tall, narrow glass only two-thirds full, was very tasty. The bahn mi, despite the lack of a baguette, was quite tasty. The real disappointment was the banana bread: dry instead of moist, more cake-like than bread-like; the banana seemed to have run off. We mentioned this to the extremely friendly young woman who was tending the terrace, and after consulting with her manager, she couldn't do anything about it.

Great location by the canal, but very peaceful and sort of wild nature ..food is good but not a spectacular..concept is excellent and innovative..they travell the world and bring back ideas for different tastes from around thd world! I was single dinner and was waiting 3 hours for the small plates to be brought ond by one often 30 minutes waiting in between. Apparently shirt of stuff in the kitchen which should have told me during the phone reservation. However, disaster strikes on the end...theh added lots of stuff to the bill,even i haven't consumed..after complaining they took ig off but still was unconsumed cocktail. SHAME ON THEM!!

I really enjoyed sitting on the riverbank, but the food is ambiguous. Some of the food looked strange, and some of it was very salty. The dessert was super weird too, even though I didn't take a picture of it. The service was long even when we asked to be faster.

Very tasty food and friendly service. The dishes are surprising and varied. After a certain period the menu changes and there are influences from other kitchens. This keeps dining fun. The price is normal. We had made a reservation via TheFork, which gave us a 30% discount. Very nice.

The four-course menu consisted of very small dishes, which we did not see in the photos. Perhaps there is a new menu? Anyway, we were all still hungry afterwards. Unfortunately, the story behind the dishes was not shared with us. It is a beautifully decorated place.

Quality of the food was top notch. It wasn't busy. Ate outside. We do have one. I had a bit of a bad feeling about the service. Water ordered did not arrive....had to ask twice. Food arrived without cutlery......had to ask. Then had to ask for napkins. Ordered beer...didn't arrive...after 25 minutes of asking, it was still delivered. Ordered second round of dish....bread added....did not arrive. Had to ask twice. We had already finished the other dish. Food was delicious and perhaps there was a cause and therefore an incident?

Loved the terrace and the lunch. Staff was really friendly and speedy. We are coming back for a dinner :)

Delicious food, fantastic concept. Everyone who came to our table had knowledge and understanding of the dishes. With each dish it was explained how Nomads was inspired, how the dish was put together and how the current recipe came about. In addition, there was a lot of knowledge about matching wines. All friendly people, beautiful interior makes me happy and a very relaxed atmosphere. I had a wonderful evening here. Definitely worth repeating!

It had been a while since I had been here, but the concept still works and is executed well. The service was excellent, dishes were explained well. For the most part, the food was tasty and well prepared (we found 1 dish a bit flat). All in all, a restaurant that is worth several visits, especially because of its 'adventurous' character and the ever-changing menu.

Modern-'tropical' furnishings. You will be received nicely and asked if the coat can be accepted. There was a nice high table reserved for us with a sofa and chairs. The waiter nicely explained the concept of the restaurant and how the menu was put together. There was a choice of a 4 or 5 course menu. The cocktail and mocktail menu was adapted to the country of destination; Morocco. We were given a pot of Moroccan tea to start with. After this, a lentil amsue was served with salty olives. The amuse was a good start to the evening. With each dish the service told the story behind the dish and what the dish consisted of, it was fun! The first dish was pickled melon with sardine, Moroccan herbs and chips. Very tasty, only the sauce that came with it was very salty. We also fed this back and it was well received. Throughout the evening, the dishes took us on a culinary journey through Morocco. Super tasty. The dishes are not large either, just right for a 5-course menu. I didn't like the dessert as much. I thought the ganache was a bit too hard and in my opinion the dark chocolate made the saffron stand out less well. The Moroccan inspired cocktails were also tasty and spicy. We had a very nice evening. Small feedback: the table could be cleared more often when it comes to the glassware. We had quite a few empty glasses on the table during the evening. I will definitely come back when the chefs have found new inspiration in a new country.

I had a good experience in the past specially Singapore. I went for the street food series in Wednesday. The waiting time was horrible and the food really far from what we had in the past. I still love their bread with bah mi for lunch. I booked for lunch today and Melvin called me because he does not accept yums which are marketed on the fork website. I feel like this is not a way to care for customers.

Total disillusionment! No luck I think but long service; noisy place and world dishes not successful. The service was excellent but unfortunately I would not return. The menu is constantly changing and I have heard a lot of good things but the dishes on the October 24 menu were not successful

The atmosphere and service cannot be faulted, very friendly and cordial. The food was nothing special unfortunately, all fresh, but in general there was little taste in the dishes, I got the feeling that no one had checked the taste. Especially for the price paid, I won't be coming back here anytime soon

It was a four-course dinner. The last course was a disgusting dessert. But the first three were great tasty snacks. Snacks, yes. When I got home I had to eat something extra. The drinks are expensive. The service was fine.

TL;DR: Nomads is a very stylish restaurant with an amazing concept. The staff is super friendly, and I had high expectations. But considering the price point (around 100€ p.p. for 5 courses with drink pairing), the overall experience was underwhelming, with extremely slow service (nearly 4 hours for the entire menu, waiting 1.5h just for the first course), mediocre food, and somewhat confused staff. The Long Version: Alright, before I get to it, I would like to highlight that I am not writing a negative review here to vent about a bad experience. I really love the concept of this restaurant, but unfortunately, I had a very disappointing experience. That said, I think there is a lot of promise, and I hope they can improve on my criticism! Okay, now let’s get into it! I arrived with a friend around 19:30 on a Saturday, punctual for our reservation. Our expectations were high, as I had received several great recommendations for the place. The staff were very welcoming and friendly, guiding us to our table immediately. However, afterwards we felt somewhat forgotten, as it took nearly 20 minutes until someone served us some tea. At this point, we still hadn’t seen the menu, nor did we even know what we could expect, as the website of the restaurant listed a different cuisine from the reservation page (Moroccan vs Singapore). After another 10 minutes, I asked the waitress for the menu, and whether it would be possible to have a non-alcoholic drink pairing as well. This caused some confusion, but after she sent her colleague to us, we finally received a menu. She explained it professionally, and gave advice on non-alcoholic alternatives for the drinks. This was super nice, as I have had less flexible experiences in other restaurants! Unfortunately, we were left alone after that for another 20 minutes, and after we finally ordered, we still waited for the drink menu another 10 minutes. At this point, we are nearly an hour in and still far from receiving our food/drinks. 15 minutes later, we received the first appetiser, plus the first drinks of our arranged drink paring. Unfortunately it took another 15-20 minutes until we got the actual first course, by which time we already finished said drinks. At this point, we are 1.5h in, and got a bit concerned, as our actual reservation slot is only intended for 2 hours. Luckily this turned out to be fine, but if we would have other plans after dinner, we would already have been in a time squeeze here. Next, it started to rain, making part of the (extremely nice) outside seating area unusable. This was no issue for us, as we were in a dry spot, however, other guests moved inside, leaving the staff with a scattered field of guests. This is obviously hard to adjust to, so I wasn’t too surprised when we waited another 20-30 minutes for course 2. However, yet another 20 minutes after the second course (about 2.5h in!) we still waited for course number 3. At this point, the waitress came asking us which course we were at, and admitting she kind of lost track of us. This was a bit frustrating for us. Additionally, after we received the third course, they forgot my ordered drink pairing, only serving it after I already finished my food. The last two courses went more or less smoothly, considering they took another hour. This accumulated to a 3.5-4h dinner, that honestly left me more hungry than satisfied. The food itself was fine, but considering the low to mid-budget fine dining price point, it was a bit underwhelming. The dishes looked great, but tasted somewhat “normal”. For this amount of money you can easily get a better dining experience in Amsterdam. I conclusion, I really cannot recommend Nomads right now. Their concept is amazing, the restaurant gorgeous, and the staff very warm and friendly. But they seem disorganised, and the food cannot keep up with the expectations coming with this price point, even in Amsterdam. I really hope they are able to avoid such experiences for other guests. It would be a shame to let such a nice concept go to waste!

Delicious food for the third time. The Nomads kitchen brigade knows how to give every dish a special touch. Add to that the nice staff and reasonable wine prices and you really have a great evening.

Started nicely on the terrace, with nice service, but when it started to get colder, we had the option to take a seat inside. Beautiful and tasty worldly dishes, with a good wine range.

We had a nice meal, the atmosphere is good, but the service could be a bit more attentive. As an aperitif we drank a cocktail. During the third course I asked if they could take the dirty cocktail glasses with them. The corridors sometimes took a long time. We had a nice evening, but there are still some finishing touches needed.

Nice concept with dishes from all over the world. All delicious dishes with beautiful flavors. Allergies were taken into account. Even being able to make some adjustments to the dessert at the last minute. An extra hats off to the service, it was on point. The location also deserves some attention. Enjoyed a delicious meal on the terrace by the water. We are fans!

We are pescetarian and asked for a suitable menu in advance but selection came completely vegetarian (no fish or seafood options). Maybe that’s the reason why we were not super satisfied with the dishes. They were tasty but none of them created “wow” effect. Highlight of the evening was wine pairings. Each bottle was special and we took notes of them. Given the food quality, prices are on the higher side. Service was friendly and warm.

You are politely asked if you are vegetarian or have an allergy or if you don't like something. More than praise for the service we received! Very professional and friendly! Price versus quality, fine. If you like good food and drinks, definitely recommended.

Unbelievable and unforgettable experience in Nomads!! We were moved to terrace with only 2 course served, on windy and cold Friday night, with 2 children. 🥶Nothing special for the starter and main course, and the dessert was just mix of syrup and caramel. 🍭You can definitely make a better one at home if you have enough sugar and a fancy bowl. If you want to experience expensive food and bad service, don’t hesitate to come Nomads!

I haven't eaten here YET (we'll be back), but what great people work there. I was able to change my babies and the eldest could also go to the toilet without any problems. In the end, they even made my little one's milk nice and warm and we were able to continue our route on King's Day. Dear people who think along, even though King's Day was a busy day! (The neighbors on the corner actually sent us away)

We had dinner here last Saturday. Unfortunately much worse than before. Poor, too young, service that did not listen enough. Deviations from the menu were not responded to well, even though this was promised. Two people in our group barely ate anything. They were only offered vegetarian because they did not want lamb or fish. Had a nice meal here before, now not recommended.

Absolutely wonderful experience with a four course meal. The flavours were so different yet touched our palates. The portion size was good, the wine pairing with each course was fantastic and the ambience was very cosy. Only comment for the restaurant - The Panipuri served at the beginning was mentioned as native of Singapore although Pani Puri is the native street dish of India :)

Delicious food, nice concept. However, it was a mess in terms of operation. I was given meat four times even though I was told several times that I eat vegetarian. He responded quickly and adequately. And finally got a drink on the house.

My favourite restaurant in Amsterdam for special occasions. Me and my boyfriend come here every year for our anniversary. If you’re looking for an experience, not just a meal, go here. The food is Michelin Star quality, for a fantastic price. Every time I’ve been here I’m completely blown away by all the new flavours I try. Staff is wonderful, and I love hearing all the backstories to the food. Try the wine pairing or a cocktail.

Because of restaurant week we choose this restaurant. 6 course for 55 euro. I really really think it’s not worth it. Because one of the course if just grill leek. In general, the food is okay, not so bad but not excellent. None of the dishes give me a glitter sense. The whole combination might need come changes, for example first course from mid east, I think it’s too heavy to start. The service is excellent!! Everyone is friendly and feel warm welcome. After each dishes change the cutely, introduction of the dish, all of the service are Fancy. Environment is cozy, light on and off. Neutral.

Nomads is a beautiful restaurant in a nice location. We had a 3 course chef's lunch. Every dish had interesting flavors. My pregnancy was also taken into account, which I really appreciate. Service is enthusiastic and clearly proud of what they serve. This summer we will come and sit on your terrace!

Five course menu chosen. Glass of Cava beforehand and a tasty amuse. The first course was okay, not great and so large, it could easily have passed for three courses. Ordered a bottle of wine, so far so good. After the first course my wife went to the toilet and when we returned to the table we were ordered to leave the restaurant and pay a bill. The reason given was that my wife had smoked in the toilet. My wife doesn't even smoke. They were then rudely called a liar. Paid the bill and washed the wine glasses and bottle of wine in the sink myself, to which the staff also had rude comments. With the wine (and bottle of water) I paid for, I use what I want and do not let this restaurant take advantage of it by serving it to other guests and making them pay for it as well. Shame.

We got a very severe food poisoning after dinner at this restaurant.

I celebrated my birthday party recently at Nomads and both me and my guests were absolutely delighted by the fantastic food, the ambiance throughout the entire restaurant and the top notch and caring service from the entire personnel. I highly recommend NOMADS for your next culinary and cosy experience. On top of this, it's located in a superb area of Amsterdam. Thanks to the entire staff for an unforgettable evening!

Dinner: Jan 2024 Here you will be taken on an adventurous taste sensation every six months, as stated. The Singapore 4 course Surprise menu was delicious. Strange location and definitely worth a visit. Clean, beautifully decorated toilets with the icing on the cake being the cheerful service that explains each dish. We start with an excellent amuse, panipyrie(?) The only downside is that there is no Dutch menu Summer 2023: Delicious lunch, good and fast service. Nice along the water on a beautiful summer day

The food is delicious, the service is perfect and the atmosphere is extremely good! Highly recommended! Nomads is a plane ticket to anywhere on earth. My advice: go and enjoy!
