Restaurant OH30 in Wijk 03 Molenakker en Kampershoek

We were here for the n-th time. This was unfortunately on a day that the chef was not as inspired as all the times before. Also we were missing the young enthusiastic staff that used to serve us before. But a real killer of the atmosphere was the freezing low temperature in the restaurant. Too bad. We are hoping for a better experience next time.

After going to Weert , a very disappointing town, for a wedding we decided to go to OH30 for lunch on the Sunday. The restaurant occupies the ground floor of a reconditioned old windmill. While a small restaurant the tables are spaced nicely and the decor is very pleasing. Lunch the 90E option while a little expensive was excellent. Each course made to order and presented nicely with well sized portions. The hostess, I understand the wife of the chef, was very attentive explaining the make up of each course in perfect English. The chef is obviously very talented providing interesting and tasty dishes. All very nice, un-rushed and elegant. A small business that deserves support.

What a disappointment. The food was way below par for the price you pay. The dishes were of very low quality, and some tasted downright bad. We regularly eat out, but we have never experienced anything as bad as this. In addition, the bottles of wine are overpriced and of mediocre quality. Even a bottle of water for the table turns out to be just tap water, for which they charge €5. The only plus was the service, which was friendly and attentive. All in all, paid a lot of money for a very bad experience. Definitely not recommended!

De ambiance van de molen is origineel, maar niet echt sfeervol. De uitbouw/erker van het restaurant is donker en somber en daardoor ongezellig. Het verbaast me dat daar nooit iets aan is gedaan. Er wordt door de eigenaresse niet positief gereageerd op klachten, bijvoorbeeld ver teveel zout bij een van de gerechten en oud brood bij de kazen als dessert. De prijs/kwaliteitverhouding is voor verbetering vatbaar

OH30 is prachtig gelegen in een oude windmolen vlakbij het kanaal in Weert. De inrichting is eigentijds met respect voor het monumentale karakter van het gebouw! Erg sfeervol. De bezetting op deze vrijdagavond is erg magertjes met 4 tafels van twee. De gastvrouw en chef-kok runnen deze zaak dan vandaag ook met zijn tweeën. Bij een lekker maar prijzig glas champagne (€18,-) wordt de eerste lekker en verfijnd gepresenteerde amuse geserveerd. Een cilinder gevuld met ossenworst met hierbij een truffelmayonaise. De 2e amuse is erg origineel en heerlijk vol van smaak. Een stukje bloedworst is krokant in een dun laagje beslag gefrituurd en wordt begeleidt door couscous en een zalige schuimige saus van vadouvan. Wij kiezen voor het beleefmenu in 5 gangen (€80,-) met bijpassend wijnarrangement (€45,-). Gestart wordt met een vrije interpretatie van sushi. Onderop de sushirijst met hierop plakjes kort geschroeide tonijn. Het geheel wordt afgedekt met waterkers, tuinkers en sesamcrackers en erbij een ponzumarinade. Een lekker gerecht, maar de opmaak oogt wat rommelig waardoor de tonijn niet herkenbaar aanwezig is. Vervolgt wordt met een mooi stukje kabeljauw krokant op de huid gebakken. Lekker! Hierbij een antiboise van artisjok, waarbij de artisjok niet heel herkenbaar aanwezig is. De hollandaise saus is heerlijk en heeft mooi het typische zuurtje in de smaak. De erbij geserveerde ravioli met ricota voegt weinig toe aan het gerecht, maar is wel lekker. Als 2e tussengang een heerlijk stukje malse kalfswang. Erbij een beetje ondefinieerbaar prakje van pruim en eekhoorntjesbrood die helaas niet de typische smaak heeft van deze exclusieve paddenstoel. Het gerecht had in zijn geheel iets hoger op smaak gemogen en de opmaak is wederom rommelig. Het hoofdgerecht bestaat uit mooi getrancheerde en malse entrecote. Hierbij een klassieke en eenvoudige pepersaus die prima op smaak is. Het beloofde garnituur van zuurkool en witlof ontbreekt, wel zit er mini aubergine bij het gerecht. Ook hier sneeuwt het hoofdingredient onder bij het garnituur op het gerecht. Het dessert bestaat uit een heerlijke chocolademousse met een marinade van passievrucht. De beloofde vanille en meringue zijn niet terug te proeven of zien in het dessert. Het gerecht is wel heel lekker, al is de opmaak weer niet fantastisch. De service is prima deze avond. Al voelt het allemaal wel een beetje plichtmatig. Ook de uitleg bij de wijnen is een standaard verhaaltje. Het wijnarrangement wordt overigens royaal geschonken en de wijnen zijn gewoon goed. Wij hebben een prima avond gehad. De entourage is sfeervol, de service prima en het eten lekker. Toch mist dit restaurant een beetje de schwung en bezieling. Zowel in “de zaal” als in de keuken. De verfijning van de 1e amuse en de originaliteit en smaakintensiviteit van de 2e amuse komt in het menu te weinig terug. Er vallen dus zeker nog zaken te verbeteren hier.

Hierbij onze bevindingen. Zodra wij in onze zetels zaten vroeg uw bediende of wij iets wilden drinken. Er werd een cocktail aanbevolen die niet voorradig bleek te zijn. Mijn echtgenote bestelde een gin tonic. Werd helaas met veel te veel ijs geserveerd. Uw bediende maakte aanstalte de tonic weer mee te nemen waardoor mijn echtgenote haar erop moest attenderen dat de tonic bij de cocktail hoorde. De amuse met het schuim smaakte prima. Op de gerechten (4 gangen menu) hebben wij de volgende opmerkingen: De tonijn Voldeed aan de verwachtingen, behoudens het feit dat men voor mijn echtgenote vergeten was de saus erbij te doen. De kabeljauw Was beduidend onder de maat. Ten eerste omdat het slechts een klein stukje kabeljauw betrof . Het stukje van mijn echtgenote was kleiner dan van ondergetekende. Het volume werd wat aangedikt door een stukje brood hetgeen niet op de kaart stond. De sauzen die erbij zaten pasten in onze optiek totaal niet bij het gerecht. Het gerecht smaakte erg zuur. De Entrecote Op de kaart staat Pastinaak, witlof, zuurkool en groene pepersaus. De pastinaak, witlof en zuurkool was in geen velden of wegen te bekennen. Er zaten groenten bij die niet op de kaart staan zoals champignons en groene asperges. Verder bevatte het gericht iets wat uit aardappelen bereid was en erg warm en hard was. Dit staat overigens ook niet op de kaart. Als klap op de vuurpijl ontbrak in nagenoeg alle gerechten zout. Overigens smaakte de entrecote ook niet best. Het vlees was nogal taai en bij de entrecote van mijn echtgenote taai zeen. Het vlees en de niet op de kaart staande groenten weer nagenoeg koud geserveerd. De wijnen uit het wijn arrangement waren ook niet om over naar huis te schrijven en kwamen tegen de verwachting in niet uit de regio. De wachttijd tussen gerecht 2 en 3 was ongeveer 45 minuten hetgeen ook niet als plezierig werd ervaren. Wij zagen af van het nagerecht hetgeen van de rekening is gehaald. Op onze mondelinge klachten is niet adequaat gereageerd. Wij waren in de veronderstelling, gelet op de Michelin aanbeveling en de prijzen die worden gerekend onthaald te worden op heerlijke gerechten en een goede bediening. Helaas bleek niets minder waar. De bediende was o.a. nog in opleiding. Wij hebben het vermoeden de kok ook. De gerechten 2 en 3 zijn door ons slechts gedeeltelijk genuttigd. Over gerecht 2 hebben wij overigens ook een klacht geuit bij de bediende. Daar is verder niet meer op gereageerd. Al met al een buitengewoon teleurstellende avond waarvoor wij wel 177 euro hebben betaald.

Gisteren wezen eten bij OH30 met de familie. Voel me echt bedrogen na betaling van de rekening . Namelijk 2 gerechten uit het 4 gangen beleef menu kosten net zoveel als het hele menu. Gaan we nooit meer heen dus!

Heerlijk gegeten met mooie wijnparing, vriendelijke gastvrije ontvangst, mooie historische locatie. Dankzij het mooie weer zowel van het heerlijke buitenterras als van het sfeervolle restaurant zelf mogen genieten. De avond is omgevlogen.

This unique restaurant OH 30 is located in a national monument, a large windmill from 1904 in Weert, Perfect and original French cuisine at the highest level. Friendly and expert service in a rustic ambiance. Beautiful terrace in the shade of the large building. Highly recommended. Today a delicious lobster menu. Excellent in taste, composition and presentation. Rare beautiful tableware. Better is almost impossible to imagine.

Had dinner here two weeks ago with good friends. Chose this restaurant based on the Michelin guide. Nice location, upon entering it smelled a bit musty, but that is part of the old ambiance. The food was tasty and well prepared. Management neutral to not interested. However, what really turned us off is the fact that a restaurant of this caliber does not offer BOB packages, but only whole glasses of wine. In addition, there were no non-alcoholic drinks in the house as an alternative. This is really no longer possible these days. Shame

Christmas Day dinner, 5 courses. First course of sea bass was lukewarm, the rest of the dishes were fine and tasty. We sat close to the entrance, a bit secluded. Not very pleasant. Service was business friendly.

One of the most disappointing Restaurant experiences of my life. I also don't agree with the other reviews, food was mediocre, service too. We missed an important element with the starter, nothing was done about it, there was a tendon in my dish between the dishes. Overall just disappointing.

Ate and drank last weekend. Fantastic food and drinks. 6 courses with 2 amuse-bouches. More than sufficient quantities. The wines were well chosen to match the dishes. Authentic dishes with a modern twist. Beautifully prepared and very tasty. Service without frills very pleasant. Atmosphere is beautiful in the old mill. Price-quality ratio is 10 points in my opinion (I'm from Amsterdam, I'm used to something, but Amsterdam is often overrated). I come here more often, thank you!

Delicious food, good service and great atmosphere. Downside was the price of a glass of wine, 9 euros, this was not a glass of wine. I would be ashamed if I covered a bottom like that at home!

After not having been there for a number of years because it was disappointing, I went for lunch once, it was super good and very nice. We thought we would go for dinner again... But unfortunately... It was clearly indicated when booking that there was a vegetarian, what do you get as an appetizer: beef sausage with ham..... Indicated that I don't eat this, fine you get something else. Then the starter crab with tendon = not the intention, also indicated. Then eel with bones, but nothing more said about that. As a head sole with veins... the kitchen still has a lot to learn, here you can easily pay over €300.00 for a dinner for two with a bottle of wine, which is not worth it. The host and his knowledge of wine and delicious coffee cannot be faulted at all.

Geweldig goed goed gegeten, goede smaken die mooi bij elkaar komen. De prijs kwaliteitsverhouding staat in mijn ogen een beetje onder druk, gezien de krappe porties dus geserveerd worden. Ook bij het hoofdgerecht. Bediening is correct en vriendelijk, goede adviezen en uitleg over eten en wijnen. Zeker een plek om nog een keer terug te gaan om nog een keer de ervaring van het genieten op te doen, mogelijk met wat grotere porties.

Had lunch at this restaurant on a sunny Saturday afternoon. This old mill has been transformed into a restaurant and art gallery. We chose the surprise menu, and I can recommend it to everyone! All dishes were delicious and a sight to look at. The dessert was a bit less in terms of presentation. But that doesn't make it any less tasty 😋. Good cocktails and wines. Excellent service! What we found a bit of a shame in terms of atmosphere is that there were no other lunch guests present. Also nice: More than enough free parking.

Food was great. Price too high for the complete experience. Wines did not always match the dishes and little was served (you wouldn't expect a bottom for that price). No repeat for us.

Very nice restaurant. In any case, for a relaxing and delicious dinner. There was very little to do in terms of lunch, but that could be a snapshot of course. Dinner is delicious though. Excellent food, excellent service and a good glass of wine (in the right company). What else do you want?

Celebrating Husband’s 40th birthday last night at OH30 A wonderful dinner with their 5 course experience dinner! Cozy setting dining in a windmill, great service, consistent and delicious food! Great value for money too!

Once again we had the opportunity to experience a well-organized evening in the attractive mill. The dishes, with matching wines, were perfect for the eye but also pleasing on the palate. What an explosion of taste the various courses had. Until next time!

I went to eat at OH30 with my family with high expectations, but the reality was disappointing. There was absolutely nothing to criticize about the food, let me put that first. The operation and service, on the other hand, left much to be desired. This started when ordering, after looking at the menu, when my husband wanted to eat à la carte, he was only told that only the Experience menu was an option. Then mistake after mistake was made, the explanation of the dishes left much to be desired, wine glasses were taken away while there were 2 bottles on the table, a soup without a spoon, plates were scraped at the table, and so on. In my opinion, you can expect a carefree evening from a restaurant in this price category where you will be thoroughly pampered. For us this turned out not to be the case, a deception and we will not be going back anytime soon.

After a tip, another taste adventure, this time at a special location. An old windmill on the edge of the center of Weert. Easy to reach with its own parking lot, great. The weather was too changeable to sit on the terrace all afternoon, but we had to enjoy an aperitif on the comfortable lounge sofa. Since we had replaced the two beef dishes with fish, I decided this time for a wine from the menu. Choosing from the fairly extensive menu was not easy. Velich's TO looked the most tempting. A blend of mainly Chardonnay supplemented with Sauvignon and Welschriesling, very tasty. Three good snacks appeared, a carrot macaroon with pineapple and curry. A crispy taco with a mild cream. And a cone filled with veal tartare finished with piccalilli. The amuse looked neat in a gold-lined bowl. Roasted tomatoes, watermelon, fresh foam, basil leaves and a soft patty of parmesan, beautiful flavors. We were guided by the charming hostess to a spot on the ground floor of the mill. The space has the shape of a cross. A central part of the restaurant with a bar on the kitchen side. The restaurant area extended into two brick wings. In one wing was the open kitchen and in the other the toilets with a storage space. Busy tiles on the floor. The tables are mainly rectangular and made of white oak. Modern music in the background. The first course was a stacked dish. Finely ground king crab on a bed of soaked quinoa topped with cucumber rolls and a crispy avruga caviar finished with a quenelle of green apple ice cream, alongside a curry sauce. Good textures, a downside was that the king crab could not really be tasted. Actually, more of a tasty vegetarian dish. (8.8) The second course was in classical style. A nice thick piece of halibut fillet gratinated with tomato and Gruyère on a bed of spring onions with gray shrimp in between, next to a foamy shrimp bisque, the whole thing was finished at the table with a broth of seared onion. An excellent combination of flavors, the halibut was nice and juicy, partly due to the broth, and the shrimp gave the dish a pleasant saltiness. (9.4) The highlight of the afternoon was served by the chef himself. A sleek presentation on a long black board. Two long narrow fillets of North Sea sole fried on the bone with wild garlic leaves, roasted macadamia, Amsterdam onion segments, fried mushroom mixture and a foamy nut butter sauce. Very nice flavors that combined well, the macadamia made the wine even tastier. (9.6) The main course was redfish fillet on a bed of pointed cabbage, topped with parsley cream, softly cooked potato fondant and a piece of zucchini, alongside a fresh apple cider sauce. Good preparations in classic style. (9.3) We finished with a nice fresh dessert. A large quenelle of mango curd ice cream, next to it a scoop of salted caramel ice cream on a bed of pineapple compote, dollops of passion fruit cream and a passion fruit syrup with lemon. (9.4) Service was very good by the very friendly hostess. The price-quality ratio of this offer was very good to excellent. In summary, we can say that it was a very pleasant introduction to a special location, dishes are based on classic French cuisine with good preparations and beautiful ingredients. Thank you.

The site is very picturesque. Entering a windmill, with what it symbolizes in Holland, is great. Extremely friendly and friendly service, and constant explanations of the food. Delicious food in fair quantities. I highly recommend it.

Good restaurant, good food. Some new things I haven't experienced before. Good service in general settled in a very cozy Dutch windmill.

Today we had a 6 course menu including wines. Food was tasty, but it's a pity that the sandwiches were not offered more often. I had the feeling that there were too few people in the service, which sometimes made it take a bit long. The wines were tasty with the dishes, but too expensive for the minimal base you got for €7 per glass. Especially when I googled a wine and saw that the price per bottle was € 6.69... then I had a stomach ache. As far as I'm concerned, not yet worthy of a star, although I expected that based on reviews, stories and presentation... too bad!

More than excellent food. Highly recommended for anyone who enjoys delicious top dishes. Someone who wants to choose from a hundred different dishes would be better off going one door further. We will definitely come back.

A historic place that houses a restaurant...

Yesterday we had a delicious meal. We had a 6 course menu with a wine pairing. The latter was a bit disappointing to us. The wines were delicious, but it was really a bottom of the glass and you pay 7 euros per glass. False economy as far as we are concerned. We visited Flavors in Weert a while ago, and we had an even more positive feeling there.
