If you want to feel like family from the moment you walk through the door, Restaurant Olijfje is the place to be. The hospitality here is on another level, warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. ​The food is a fantastic journey through Mediterranean and Turkish flavors. We started with a mix of mezes, and you can tell everything is fresh; the aioli and tzatziki were perfect. For the main, the grilled meats, especially the chickens Sis Kebab and the Lamb Tenderloin were incredibly tender and seasoned beautifully. ​One of the best parts is the "extra mile" the staff goes. They often bring out fresh bread and olives to start. It’s rare to find a place in a busy city like Amsterdam that maintains such a high standard of both food and service year after year. This is my absolute recommendation to anyone visiting Amsterdam. While you should definitely try their fries, apple pie, cookies, and waffles, believe me, if you're hungry and seriously want to fill your stomach while enjoying a peaceful, friendly, and perfect atmosphere, don't bother looking anywhere else. Excellent value for money! Delicious Mediterranean food. The staff were very attentive and friendly. The kitchen is open until 10 pm, and you can come at any time of day. We ordered a salad (we were in the mood for one) and a grilled beef dish with rice and vegetables. DELICIOUS!! A beer and water came to 51 euros.

What can I say, this is truly one of the best restaurants in Amsterdam, the food is just insanely good and I come from a Mediterranean country and it’s one of the best Mediterranean dishes I’ve ever tasted. We came for dinner on Saturday, May 2nd at 8 pm. This restaurant has a 4.7/5 rating on Google, and I can say it definitely deserves it. This restaurant was a great find: a huge selection of vegetarian and gluten-free dishes, a wide variety of choices, and delicious local and international products. We chose: - appetizers with amazing hummus/tapas - for our main courses: a mixed grill with various meat skewers, rice, and delicious vegetables, a vegetarian casserole with incredibly tasty vegetables, and a Caesar salad. The owner was very welcoming and offered us a complimentary appetizer of olives and tapenade, which was really good. We don't regret it at all and we will definitely be back. Another highlight: the restaurant's beautiful decor. Thank you!

Olijfje is a warm and reliable Mediterranean restaurant with generous portions and very friendly service. Its family-run, which you can feel. I would mainly go here for a table full of meze to share, grilled fish or one of the mixed grill dishes.

We had such a great experience here and I honestly can’t recommend it enough. From the moment we walked in, the environment was warm and welcoming. It’s the kind of place you immediately feel comfortable in and just want to sit and enjoy the night. The food was incredible. Some of the best we’ve had in a while, and the bread and dips were easily our favorite part. The staff was extremely hospitable and made the whole experience even better. Service was smooth the entire night and everything felt very taken care of. The seating was comfortable and the restaurant was very clean, which we always notice. A big shoutout to John, the owner, who went out of his way to take care of me, my wife, and our friends. He made us feel like we’d been coming there for years. We liked the place and John so much that we had to get a picture with him, and we even had a little fun with AI to make it even better. We’re already thinking about going back again this weekend!

Ate here our first night in Amsterdam. The food and service was fantastic. Going back to Olijfje’s was something my wife talked about for the next 2 days. So here we are for our second time and the night before we leave Amsterdam. The lamb is so juicy and tender. Out of this world!! We were given an order baklava that was made with pistachios. Oh, the best ever.

Excellent Mediterranean (Turkish) food! We had Adana kebab and Sis Kebab. Several small appetizers and bread were included in the price. The meat was very tender and very well seasoned. They also readily accommodated my gluten intolerance and brought gluten-free bread (for those with celiac disease: be careful, the rice might contain noodles; ask to be sure). To finish, we received a small complimentary dessert. The service was very friendly and attentive. We will definitely come back when we visit Amsterdam again.

We went to this restaurant for the first time last night (Saturday). It was warm and cosy with a lovely relaxed atmosphere. The menu is great with lots of options. We had chicken skewers and lamb cutlets. Both dishes were super, lovely flavours and with nice portions. We’d had two starters and complimentary bread with olives and olioli and worried we’d be too full, but we were fine. The owner brought complimentary glasses of wine and baklava. Yes, the baklava is as good as others have reviewed. I don’t usually like sweet dishes, but this baklava is exceptional because it’s very sweet but not at all sickly sweet. The service was great too, genuinely friendly. We would eat out quite often and this restaurant, this meal is among the best. We’re on a three day trip and booked to eat there again before we leave.
