Service was great, food was okay but not great.

Recommended by football legends like Quaresma, Bruno Alves and Raul Meireles we've had an amazing time at Olijfje! From the starters to the deserts everything was heel lekker! We were a group of friends celebrating a birthday and will be coming back for sure. A special mention to the owner, who made sure we were having a great time on a Monday night. If you love mediterranean food and ambiance you won't find better in Amsterdam

Every time I step into Het Olijfje, it feels like coming home. Can Abi and his team are so friendly and welcoming that you immediately feel welcome. The atmosphere is always cozy and relaxed, and the food is always delicious 🍀

Nice staff and nice place, but I expected much more from the food. Shrimp croquettes were tasteless, and calamari and hummus were bland.

We had a wonderful meal and enjoyed the service. A very welcoming restaurant with a wide selection of food and drinks. We received delicious appetizers on the house. Highly recommended for a wonderful evening.

We are a travel group of 6 staying at the Monet Gardens hotel. Olijfje was recommended to us. Although it was getting busy at the restaurant, they made room for all of us without reservations. The service was great. We all ordered different entrees. Each dish tasted amazing. Fresh and full of flavors. Everyone agreed that after almost a month of traveling, this was our best meal. We had an opportunity to have dinner in this restaurant the last August. It was an amazing experience! The food was excellent and the service just spectacular! The staff was extremely kind and attentive at all time. They genuinely cared about giving their best and making sure we had everything we needed. Very tasty food and good service!

We arrived in Amsterdam very late and after check in, found most of the restaurants were closed. However our reception desk recommended this place and it was still open so we went there. Rarely it happens that a restaurant becomes a beautiful memory. However the great food of this place and the kindness of its hosts made that possible. They were closing down too, however when they were noted that we were new, tired and hungry, they went out of their way to cook us delicious meal. Zahn (I hope I got the name right) came to ask us about our well being, was extra caring when he realised we were from India. He took special care of us including kind gestures that we did not even pay for.. At the end, we came out well fed, happy, and full of gratitude. If I ever open a restaurant, I would want to run it as these kind people do. Cheers!

Delicious! Authentic meze! Gluten free and vegetarian available if you're interested. Everything is good, but I particularly recommend the lentil soup, the patatas bravas and the andare kebab.

No reservations and met the owner. He was kind enough to make a table work for us. He also took our order and brought us some extras. Great vibe and great food clearly driven by a great owner.

Delicious food and friendly service

From the welcome to the coffee, everything was perfect. We ate very well, from the aperitif, with the several starters to share, the main courses (Adana Kebab was so good and the rice that accompanies it is delicious) unfortunately no more room for dessert, but the boss brought us a small plate of Baklava. I recommend 100%, the kindness of the people who work here, the food :-)

It was simply incredible. We've been to a Mediterranean restaurant in Germany several times and wanted to try it out in Amsterdam. We both ordered a mixed plate, which was delicious, and the portions were large and plentiful. It started with an appetizer of olives and faldenbrot. After our meal, we received a free beer and water, along with a chocolate mousse. It was simply incredible, and the service was super friendly, wonderful, and attentive :) We'd love to come back 🍀🍀🍀🫶🏻🫶🏻

Best food I’ve eaten in Amsterdam for five days. The chicken was exquisite, the service was super kind, they offered me gluten free bread (and had many gluten free options on the menu). The food was amazing and came very quickly. I truly recommend this place to everyone!

We had a delicious meal, dishes from the Turkish kitchen. They paid careful attention to the presentation of the plates. The food is very tasty. We had the mezze as a starter and then kofte as a main course. The staff is friendly, humorous, and skilled. We had a very enjoyable evening!

I found this restaurant and saw the great reviews and decided to try it. There were 4 of us and we all got something different, all fabulous. Lamb, sea bass, lamb casserole and chicken satay. We tried a falafel and feta pyhylo dough roll for appetizers, delicious. No pictures, ate it all so quickly. Dessert was 5 star as well. Owner came over to introduce himself and checked several times that we were good. Such a wonderful experience on all levels! 😀

Wow! The food here was wonderful, plenty of gluten free options and the gluten free bread was delicious. The staff were brilliant, attentive and helpful. I would highly recommend having a visit. Fast service, no waiting and it's a really nice place to sit. I would definitely come back when we visit Amsterdam again.

Excellent find in the heart of Amsterdam! I have a gluten allergy and found this restaurant on Tik-Tok. We decided to give it a try on our last night in the city and I’m so glad that we did! The menu was very easy to navigate (all dishes were clearly labeled) and they even had gluten free bread! I would highly recommend the chicken kebab. The owner and staff were all incredibly friendly and happy that we enjoyed our meal. We will definitely be back the next time we are visiting!

We walked in spontaneously and were lucky to get a table for two. The food and service were excellent and the authentic mediterranean/turkish atmosphere truly made us feel welcome. I highly recommend the place. Friendly service, excellent food and nice music (not loud). We ordered two "mixed grill". A lot of food but it was so good that we ate it all! I know it unusual to show empty plates, but it tells the story!

Long day travelling fancied some dinner. Prompt and friendly service. Ordered some drinks and chicken thighs with mushroom sauce. Very tasty and tender chicken. Everything tasted good. Highly recommended.

I ate in this place 1 week ago. The restaurant from the beginning is misleading because it is not a Mediterranean restaurant, it’s mostly Turkish but also tried to add some Mediterranean places. The service is good but the food is overpriced. Salad was not even close to the quality of 18€ that it costed. The vibe as I said it Turkish considering the music in the background and also some painting of KEMAL ATATURK that are staring at you when you eat.The owner has taken other plates and made them Turkish like “Turkish feta” which does not exist because feta is Greek.

Random Tuesday night in August and it was busy but the staff were wonderful and the foot incredible. The gluten free choice is excellent but more than that the taste is beautiful and you feel so welcome. You absolutely must visit here.

The experience was worth the price. The server was very pleasant and attentive. The meal was delicious, and we were given free little extras: rillettes, sauces, bread, chocolate mousse for dessert, and more. I highly recommend it.

The food is truly delicious and carefully prepared, but what sets this place apart is undoubtedly the hospitality and kindness. I went for dinner with my son, and he went out of his way to bring us a welcome appetizer, extra rice for the baby, and even offered us chocolate ice cream. We’ve been living in Amsterdam for 10 months and had the chance to try Olijfje for the first time. From the moment we walked in, we were warmly welcomed with smiles, kindness, and little treats. The Adana, liver, service… everything was truly amazing. What caught my attention the most was that although the place was quite full, they greeted everyone with the same warmth and sincerity – even hugging some of their guests. The food is absolutely delicious, but what really makes this place stand out is its genuine and friendly atmosphere. Honestly, 5 stars are not enough for this restaurant!

The food was delicious! We were here during Sail and thankfully booked in advance. The staff was friendly and attentive. I had the lamp stew, and it was truly delicious. Nice and tender and seasoned just right. The atmosphere was great, very quiet, though a bit rushed at the table, but understandable with such a large event. All in all, definitely recommended!

The restaurant was busy, but we only had to wait a short time for a table, and it was so worth it! We haven't had such a good meal in a long time. From the bread before to the chocolate mousse afterward, everything was simply a feast for the palate. Highly recommended.

Worth every euro! As a group of 9, we made a reservation, which worked out perfectly. We were all thrilled with the restaurant itself and the selection on the menu. The selection is extensive, and the waiters took the time to explain everything to us. The quality of the food was impressive, as was the service. Only the dirty restrooms somewhat dampened the impression. Highly recommended, in any case!

I had an appointment, but it fell through at the last minute. However, I decided to dine here anyway. Even though the prices are a bit high, the food is delicious (see the receipt). Paid parking is also available. I really enjoyed the vine leaf meze and cerkez tavugu. The atmosphere is definitely nice, and the crowd is diverse. It was busy, so booking ahead is recommended. The service was excellent, and the staff, including the owner, are very friendly.

We had an absolutely wonderful time at Olijfje ! Everything was so perfect that we came out of this restaurant completely stunned ! The service was lightning fast while being extremely kind and professional, we never had to ask for anything because the waiters (and the owner) were very proactive. They were also totally opened to accommodate our plate to our liking (thanks you for that). It's by far the best customer service I've ever seen in my life ! The food was absolutely delicious, very well seasoned (I didn't need to add salt to the food, which is very rare) and cooked. I didn't know food could be this tasty and the texture this great ! We were also able to have as many bread as needed to eat with our hummus and tzatziki, which is rare enough to be noted. I must also thanks the owner for the complimentary starters, water and baklava (which were delicious too by the way), this was very kind and thoughtful of you :) I do recommend eating there if you go to Amsterdam. In fact, this place is a MUST go because I can assure you that you'll have a very good time and you'll leave full (without feeling bloated) ! I'll personally recommend this place to everyone in my social circle without a doubt. PS : This place doesn't ask you for any tips at the end, the owner even refuses them! But we still insisted on doing one because we really had a great time and it felt greatly deserved !

I had one of the best authentic Mediterranean dining experiences at this charming corner restaurant. If you know the original flavors of true Mediterranean cuisine, this is the place that will make you feel right at home. The food was bursting with flavor and absolutely delicious. I ordered the mixed platter, which included chicken, beef, lamb, and meatballs, each dish was perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. The service was just as impressive; the staff were warm and welcoming, and after we complimented the food, they even surprised us with complimentary desserts. A wonderful experience all around!

Everything is homemade, fresh, and top-notch. The food is delicious, and the service is first-class; it's definitely worth a visit. They're even considerate of sleeping children. For example, they turn the music down. Even the chicken nuggets are homemade.
