We had a delicious meal at Restaurant Place tonight! The spareribs were tender and well-seasoned. The service was super friendly and helpful! Highly recommended!

We were treated incredibly poorly by the hostess at Place, extremely rude. First, upon arrival, no one greeted us; the place was empty and we wanted to sit anywhere, but no one was willing to greet us, even though there were plenty of staff. Second, the hostess left us standing in the cold because she thought it was important to flirt with a few guys, even though they had already ordered and could have ordered from another colleague, so she chose to assist them. Third, she gave us a very bad spot at the front by the window, because she claimed it was sold out. I had repeatedly stated that we wouldn't be sitting for long, just wanting a quick bite to eat after shopping. The place was literally only 20% full. In other words, this is another example of Moroccan restaurants getting carried away and forgetting the warm hospitality of our Moroccan culture.

I highly recommend this place. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the staff is super friendly. The food is fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented. The bao buns were especially fantastic – fluffy, perfectly filled, and definitely worth coming back for. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and will definitely be back!

Just had dinner at The Place in Utrecht, based on a TikTok video from Eetnou. Well, I should have just scrolled down. Upon entering, I was shocked by how small the restaurant actually is. When the server told us to take a seat on the right, I was already dejected. It took ages for anyone to come to us. When we ordered our meat, they politely asked if we wanted it well-done or medium; we chose medium, but ended up with a raw tenderloin for €33. The portions were also incredibly small. In short: the first and last time I'll be back here.

Food is pricey, but it is a nice place to sit

On paper, it's a good place with plenty of variety, but in practice, the portions are limited, and not all ingredients are listed on the menu. The staff isn't exactly helpful and makes frequent mistakes with orders. This wasn't just the case with me, but also with the adjacent tables in the cramped space. I find it surprising that there's no non-alcoholic beer available, but there is non-alcoholic wine.

We waited an hour and a half for our main course and walked out because it hadn't been prepared yet. Unbelievable. I asked the server twice where the food was, and each time she said she would ask. When I asked the server a third time, she refused. Another server finally came. We told her we wanted to leave before they started preparing the food, and he returned and said they hadn't. Terrible service. Once we got to the cash register, we were given a bill for €183 and had to explain what we hadn't ordered. The acoustics were also terrible; we couldn't even hear each other when we were sitting all the way in the back. The tacos and dynamite shrimp were otherwise fine. However, we didn't receive them until 25 minutes after we ordered. This wasn't on a Friday or weekend, by the way, but on a Tuesday evening.

Yesterday we ate at Restaurant Place in Utrecht. We ordered a few appetizers, but the taste was disappointing considering the high prices. Unfortunately, it was very pricey for what you get. Otherwise, the staff was friendly.

The food was absolutely delicious. Everything was beautifully decorated and tasted amazing. Definitely recommended. The service was also great!! Lovely shop and delicious mojitos, definitely recommended. And to finish, I would definitely recommend the tiramisu!

The food was fine, though the portions were on the small side. The service was friendly but not always attentive, so it sometimes took a while before we were helped. They don't serve alcohol, which is rather unusual for a restaurant outside the Arab world. The clientele is predominantly multicultural, which is reflected in the music and the overall atmosphere.

I kept hearing mixed reviews about this place, which kept me from going. So if you're on the fence, definitely come because it was delicious! The chicken wings were great, the chicken wok was great, and the gyozas and sushi were also delicious. We'll definitely be back.

What a horrible experience! No air conditioning in the restaurant. Sweat was dripping from my forehead, it was so hot! After I ordered the food, the starter came quite quickly but the main course they completely forgot. I waited an hour for the main course. I ordered a coke with it but it also took 20 minutes before it was on the table. I do not recommend this place to anyone. And I will never come here again!

Main course came before our starters. Food was cold and spareribs smelled and tasted old. Felt really sick from the food, I had to throw up immediately when I got home. Good food. We could also go with our baby in a big stroller. We got a place so that we were comfortable, very nice since we booked last minute and they had to move because of us. I did think that with the main courses like ribeye something like fries or rice and a bit more vegetables should be included for the price you pay. The mashed potatoes were not that much. Nice staff.

Had a great evening in Utrecht! We really enjoyed our evening at Place in Utrecht. The food was super delicious, really above expectations! Something went wrong with the order, but despite the crowds they remained friendly and did their best to solve it properly. We really appreciate that. All in all we had a nice evening, and as far as we are concerned, definitely worth repeating!

I would like to share my experience at your restaurant with you. We came to eat with you during Ramadan, but unfortunately our visit did not go as hoped. Even though we were repeatedly told that the food was coming, after half an hour we had to indicate that it could be canceled as far as we were concerned. In addition, we had to send a steak back twice because it was served medium rare, even though we had clearly indicated that it should be well done. This was extra worrying as one of us is pregnant and we had explicitly stated this when ordering. It's a shame that our experience was so disappointing, especially because we know that your food is normally very tasty. We hope you can act on our feedback to prevent similar situations in the future.

Food was tasty, but service was very slow. I had to keep asking if my food would still arrive. Also quite pricey for the quantity you get. For example, for the Korean fried chicken you got 3 pieces for only €13😬 Tables were also not cleaned properly each time.

This was a very bad experience. Rarely have I experienced such poor service and quality of food. Price-quality ratio 1 - One toilet did not flush properly, no more paper to dry your hands with. It looked like a dixi toilet - The service was subpar, girls who serve with arrogance and roll their eyes when you ask for new glasses for the coke you just ordered. In my opinion, it makes sense not to put it in the same glass that just contained ice tea. The fact that she then decides to look away and can no longer speak properly in two words is telling - tried many different dishes, none stood out because of mediocre quality. The crispy burger was dry and chewy, I've had better ones at a snack bar. - the evening ended with that it was not good and in response from the employee I received a 'sorry brother', which is a unique way of communicating to a customer that I have never experienced - ate dessert somewhere else because the standard was far below par.

To start with, the fusion concept is really brilliant. Here you can get tacos, burgers, sushi, steak, spare ribs, poke bowls and much more. The food is very tasty and looks beautiful. There is no doubt about this. The spareribs were very tender and had a good taste. They were not spicy, which we expected and was mentioned. The sushi is very good. Too bad we didn't get any wasabi. The Korean Fried Chicken was delicious. Sometimes a bit tough but a great taste. The sweet potato fries were also more than sufficient. Everything is halal by the way. The service is also excellent and so is the atmosphere. The reason for the four stars is the expensive prices and small portions. Half a sushi roll will cost you 10 euros. I know plenty of places that sell just as good, if not better, sushi for the same price, but for a whole roll. Also the Korean Fried Chicken was a very small portion. I expected each dish to be larger, which makes it seem much more expensive. What I don't think is okay is that a bottle of water is put on the table, then they don't say that you have to pay extra for it and they charge €7.50 for it. This should have at least been mentioned. Mocktails were tasty, but the question is whether it is worth it for more than 10 euros. Nevertheless, taste-wise the food was great. If you want good food, this is a fantastic place. Possibly one of the tastiest restaurants I've eaten at. Just a shame about the relatively small portions and expensive prices.

Today my husband and I went to Place for dinner to celebrate our anniversary. We discovered this restaurant via TikTok and wanted to try it out. At first everything went well: our order was taken neatly, and when a glass was accidentally knocked over, it was neatly cleaned up. When ordering the starters, we immediately ordered our main course, so that it could be served after the starters. The starters arrived after 35 minutes, which was understandable given the crowds. However, we then had to wait 50 minutes for our main course. Despite asking several times where it was, we were always told that it would take “another five minutes”. My husband's cutlery was cleared away after the starters, but no new cutlery was brought. He had to get up twice to ask for it, but even then it never came. Randomly during our main course a boy suddenly came by and threw two knives on the table with the comment: “Oh yes, you need these man.” We thought this was a really strange way of service. When our main course finally arrived there were problems again. I ordered a rack of lamb medium, but the meat was served with a pool of red muscle fat on the plate, which clearly indicated that the meat had not rested properly. Despite that, I decided not to say anything, because we were quite hungry by now. However, my husband was still left without proper cutlery, and when I tasted the sauce of my dish, it turned out to be mushroom sauce, while I had clearly asked for pepper sauce. This was a big deal because I am allergic to mushrooms. When I politely pointed this out to the waitress, I was treated downright rude. She indicated that I should have disclosed all my allergies and that it was not their fault. I tried to explain that I am allergic to many things, but only mentioned relevant allergies, such as with the sushi (where I stated that I was allergic to avocado). However, the waitress remained disinterested and gave no apologies. Instead, they claimed the sauce was a “mushroom honey sauce,” as if my allergic reaction wasn't being taken seriously. What I hated most was that they saw how red I became and that I could barely stand up due to the allergic reaction. No one asked even once if I was okay. This felt like my health was not important to them at all. At the end of the evening there was no apology, no compensation of any kind, and even at checkout we were not asked if everything was OK. We ended up paying €155 for an experience that ended in an allergic reaction and outrageous treatment. I really expected more from a restaurant that is so popular on social media.

Delicious food and very good service

Food is just amazing!!! The spare ribs are juicy and tender, the sushi fresh and delicious, the poke bowl full, the loaded fries perfect and the mocktails you immediately want to take a photo of.

We came in and had to wait a while until a table was cleaned. After waiting about 30 minutes we were finally assigned a table, even though the empty table was already available all this time. It was frustrating to find ourselves waiting unnecessarily, especially since nothing seemed to be happening with that empty table. This was not the experience we expected.

For the price, I expected the bao buns to be actually fluffy. As for the sushi, you can expect a lot of creative uramaki options, but don't expect to find sashimi here. I don't understand how a sushi place can forget about unagi. Flavour-wise, it's all alright, but you're better off elsewhere, especially when you consider the prices and the noisy environment.

Nice location in the center of Utrecht. You can easily get there by public transport. By car it is quite a challenge to find a parking space on the street in the area, but there are plenty of parking garages. The restaurant looks modern and clean. The service is really up! Very service-oriented and neat people. The food is delicious and comes in reasonable portions. The food is on the pricey side, but I thought it was worth it because of the quality. To be repeated!!
