Beautiful restaurant with an atmospheric interior. Despite the heat, the staff was friendly and the food itself tasted good. We arrived on a Friday evening at 7:40 PM, on a day when it was about 35°C. We were very disappointed that a new restaurant like this does not have air conditioning. On the terrace, the windbreaks ensured there was hardly any cooling. There were no fans or other measures against the extreme heat. Only after several guests had complained about this was the sunshade raised, making it slightly more pleasant. Unfortunately, the service was very slow. After about 30 minutes, we received an amuse-bouche (ham and sashimi of tuna and salmon). We did not receive the menu until about 45 minutes after arrival. We then opted for the surprise menu, but to our surprise, the starter consisted of tuna sashimi again. We felt that was a missed opportunity. As soon as food was served, there was a lot of nuisance from flies. A fly repeller was not available… Fortunately, the main course was very tasty, featuring a beautiful piece of meat. The dessert, a combination of various small desserts, was also well-received. All in all, given the ambiance and the level the restaurant projects, we had higher expectations. However, due to the extreme heat, the lack of cooling facilities, and the long waiting times, the overall experience unfortunately fell short of what we had hoped for.

We have been coming here for years, and it is and remains a treat every single time. Super friendly and knowledgeable staff. The food is fantastic, and they play with different ingredients in a fun way. They also recently added a fantastic new terrace; it is lovely to sit here.

We had an incredibly delicious meal. We had the shared dining menu, and we enjoyed every single dish. To finish, we ordered a scroppino, which was nicely prepared at the table! Pleasant music was playing, and clear advice was given regarding dietary requirements. We thoroughly enjoyed it!

Truly a great restaurant with a very nice, open atmosphere. First of all, you feel very welcome there. The place is beautifully and cozily decorated, and the food is exceptionally delicious. Everything is done with passion and craftsmanship. I can add little to that.

A cozy restaurant where the industrial atmosphere is clearly present in a beautiful and distinct way. However, the murmur of the guests present is clearly audible when the restaurant is full. We chose a 4-course menu. Each course was served nicely and with care. Both my dining companions and I found the chosen dishes tasty and surprising. I had gravlax, tuna tataki with wasabi cream, red mullet in tempura, and prawns. And for dessert, a delicious coffee with surprising sweets. The entire evening was well taken care of. We will definitely come back here again.

We're from outside the region and chose QuaKoken based on its rating. The restaurant's interior is nice, but the food is simply not good and quite expensive (and we're used to that in Amsterdam). Perhaps it's because there's not much else in the area, but the price-quality ratio is completely out of whack. The average 4.6 rating surprised us. We started with pasta and risotto, both of which were runny and flavorless… far too bland. For the main course, we both had a "Thai" curry, but it tasted nothing like a Thai curry… it was rice puree with a yellowish, flavorless sauce topped with two fried ravioli, fried corn on the cob, and something else from the deep fryer. Deep-fried food doesn't belong in a curry, and the taste was terrible (it was fried dry and sprinkled with dry spices). Moreover, there was nothing Thai about the watery puree (I have no idea why they call it a Thai curry... they completely forgot the ingredients that were supposed to make it Thai, and instead, there was naan—naan is Indian, and I've never seen it in a Thai dish). We returned the main course (we normally never do that) and immediately asked for the bill. It was a shame, because the location is really beautiful and could easily be turned into a nice restaurant, but the kitchen staff definitely deserves an upgrade, and the atmosphere could also use some improvement (the music was quite loud, and the round tables for two people have a fairly large diameter, meaning you sit far apart). The service was okay, but there's no such thing as a pleasant chat (it's just taking your order and then quickly placing your drink or plate in front of you). It just wasn't well thought out. A shame... especially because there's definitely something good to be had. I wonder how long the Oldenzaal residents will stay enthusiastic about this.

We opted for the 6-course menu with a nice bottle of champagne from the Buitenkans menu. (Great wines at a great price). AMAZING! Compliments to the chefs and the service for the complete experience, hats off! Gastronomy is still written with a capital "F" here. 🫶🏻 I highly recommend this to everyone!

We enjoyed the 4-course surprise menu tonight. My wife is gluten-free, and they really catered to her needs. The dishes were incredibly creative, and every course was fantastic. Based on Google reviews and the menu, we made a reservation for Friday night, and it was a great choice! What a lovely restaurant! The location was very convenient for us, just outside the city center with plenty of parking right outside. The combination of the old factory building and the warm, atmospheric, modern interior is fantastic. The food was delicious and the service was friendly and attentive, although there's always room for improvement ;-) The only drawback is the open kitchen, which makes the frying or baking smells too noticeable upon entering. However, this wouldn't be a reason for us to avoid it, or not go back!

The lunch buffet was open until 3 p.m. (I understand from the website) and we received a friendly welcome. But just after 2 p.m., the staff started setting the table for dinner, and we felt very uncomfortable staying there to eat, even though we weren't finished yet. We actually wanted to relax and chat a bit longer (we'd been in the car for two and a half hours), but we left anyway. This didn't feel quite right, and you're a paying guest after all. It is a nice restaurant, though, in terms of atmosphere and decor.

Wij zijn gisteravond bij u in uw mooie restaurant geweest en hebben heerlijk gegeten. Wij hebben uw restaurant mede gekozen gezien de reviews op Google. Waar de bediening hoog werd beoordeeld. Echter hebben wij dat zeker niet zo ervaren. De kelner was druk en gehaast. Zo gehaast dat het inschenken van water tot 2x toe naast het glas ging en geen paar druppels en zelfs in schenken van de olijfolie ging naast. Snel snel en nog eens snel. Vervolgens werd het ook niet schoon gemaakt zodat mijn vrouw met haar mouw in de olijfolie kwam op tafel. Wij hadden het 6 gangen verrassingsmenu en er was amper tijd om uit te leggen wat het was en zoef hij was alweer weg. Niets aandacht voor gasten. Erg jammer. Zelfs bij het zien dat de tafel nat was van het water en de olijfolie kwam er geen doekje om het schoon te maken. Wij kregen sterk de indruk dat er een behoorlijke onder bezetting was. Kortom wij waren erg teleurgesteld. 😞

We komen hier graag voor een heerlijke avond uit eten. Het eten is altijd uitstekend en de sfeer is super. Graag maken we gebruik van het chef's menu met het bijpassende wijnarrangement. Je krijgt iets op je bord wat je zelf niet snel zal bestellen, maar heel erg lekker is.

Heerlijk gegeten en gedronken. Voortreffelijke bediening. We hadden het 6 gangen menu. Mooi opgemaakte borden en smakelijke gerechtjes. Heerlijk getafeld, we waren de laatsten😉

Fantastische avond gehad bij restaurant Q. Heerlijk gegeten in een gezellige ambiance. We hebben genoten van een 5 gangen diner met een bijpassende wijnen. De verschillende gerechten waren stuk voor stuk heerlijk en duidelijk met zorg bereid. De bediening vonden we heel ontspannen en attent. Kortom een echte aanrader. Wij gaan zeker nog eens terug!

De amuse was smaakloos, geen goed begin. Het voorgerecht van kalfssukade was ongebalanceerd en niets om naar huis te schrijven. Het vlees was niet vers en nam veel smaak over in het gerecht. De hoofdgerecht had vlees van hoge kwaliteit, alleen jammer dat het vet niet gaar was. De groenten naast het vlees waren opnieuw een smaakloze, droevige bedoeling. Het toetje was het beste van de avond, alleen opnieuw niet bijzonder. De bediening is gefocust op meer verkopen. Het menu is voorzichtig, doorsnee en slecht uitgevoerd. Alleen de prijs doet vermoeden dat dit een toprestaurant is. De ambiance en inrichtingen is over het algemeen heel goed gedaan, naast de purschuim die uit de bakstenen muur steekt.

Na een zoektocht in het donker kwamen in een heel gezellig restaurant. Heerlijk gegeten, origineel en met een voortreffelijk wijnarangement. Hele prettige bediening, ongedwongen en deskundig. Echt een feestje! Voor herhaling vatbaar.

Wir gehen regelmäßig im Quakoken und waren jedes Mal sehr zufrieden. Deshalb haben wir anlässlich einer Feier das Private dining bei uns zu Hause gebucht. Was soll man sagen? Es war ebenso fantastisch. Das Menü war hervorragend! Umso mehr erstaunte es, wie der sehr freundliche Koch, auf dem Level, 10 Personen aus einer relativ kleinen Küche bekochen konnte. Der ganze Ablauf war ebenso perfekt wie die einzelnen Gänge. Der Abend wird allen Beteiligten lange in Erinnerung bleiben.

Wat een verpletterend ontvangst! Vanaf minuut hadden we het gevoel enorm welkom te zijn. Het diner was prima, het wijnarrangement idem, maar wat de ervaring geweldig maakte was het personeel

We had a wonderful "jumbo dinner" for four: a three-course menu of our choice. We started with sashimi and pata negra before the main course. Then, all four of us had steak tartare, two main courses of cordon bleu and two halibut, and for dessert, three mini crème brûlées and one coffee and sweet treat. Delicious wines were served, all with friendly and welcoming service. It was another fantastic evening, as usual here.

Would you like to spend an evening with a delicious meal, in beautiful surroundings and with excellent service? My wife and I had dinner at Quakoken and we can highly recommend it! We enjoyed it; from the food, the wines, the ambiance.....TOP!

Met veel voldoening kijken we terug op het kerstdiner gisteravond bij Qua Koken in Oldenzaal. Samen met vrienden hebben we van een fantastisch 5 gangenmenu kunnen genieten. De mooie ambiance nodigde uit om een beetje op chic te gaan...dus de dames in een mooie jurk en de heren in smoking.... Het was goed dat we ruim tevoren hadden gereserveerd, want het was een uitverkocht huis. De gerechten waren niet alleen voortreffelijk van smaak, maar werden ook heel mooi gepresenteerd. Ook het bijbehorende wijnarrangement was heel goed gekozen. Wat opvalt is de persoonlijke aandacht van alle medewerkers voor ons als gasten. Daardoor voel je je al snel thuis! Kortom een fantastisch mooie avond.

Op 1e kerstdag hebben we met vrienden een 8 gangen kerstdiner genoten, wat een ervaring weer! van begin tot het einde een feestje, deze jongens snappen echt wat koken en klant beleving is, heel erg bedankt voor deze super leuke avond en jullie gastvrijheid

Unfortunately we are very disappointed. Price-performance doesn't match at all. Way too expensive and the food is nothing special. There were 5 of us and we all had a menu. Unfortunately, not all of us received the same amount. Sometimes small or larger portions. The dessert was the biggest disappointment. Served in a wine glass with alcohol. In our opinion, you have to ask about this in advance. Not everyone can / wants alcohol. When served it looked very unappetizing. The main course was served with a small bowl of salad and chips with mayonnaise (cost extra). Doesn't go well with a meal like this at all. The location is nice but it draws in extremely cold air. Attention COLD!!!!

Dit restaurant is werkelijk "a place to go". Hoewel we zeer regelmatig uit eten gaan, kenden we het slechts van een zgn. spijs/ wijn wandeling met 1 voorgerecht. Nu de stoute schoenen maar eens aangetrokken en er met zn 2en gaan eten. Zeer verrassend. Maandag tot donderdag eet je er iets voordeliger. Het heet 3 gangen menu maar is feitelijk 2 gangen met n amuse en brood.. normaal iets van 44 euro nu rond de 38. De ambiance is prachtig: in een voormalige textielfabriek is een mooi en smaakvol ingericht restaurant gecreerd. Uitstekende wijnen. Plezierige bediening. We vonden het zó goed dat we meteen voor 1ste kerstdag hebben gererveerd!

Zaterdagavond was onze eerste ervaring met restaurant Q. We hadden met de familie voor Q gekozen mede vanwege de recenties en de veelbelovende kaart (met oa een mooie vegetarische keus). Helaas waren we na afloop toch wat teleurgesteld, zeker gezien het toch wel pittige prijsnivo van de gerechten en de drank. De gerechten waren zeker niet slecht, maar het ontbrak wat ons betreft aan finesse. Daarnaast was de wachttijd tussen voor- en hoofdgerecht echt véél te lang. Verder vonden we de service niet overdreven vriendelijk en te commercieel. Als voorbeeld bij het laatste: de fles wijn die wij eigenlijk per glas (2x) hadden besteld, werd uiteindelijk met ons goedvinden op tafel gezet (het restant in de fles zou nog ca 2,5 glas zijn). De prijs was nergens te zien, en 59 euro op de rekening voor een Côte de Tongue is toch wel erg aangepakt. De wijn was prima, maar ook niet uitzonderlijk. Daarnaast vonden wij het voorstel aan het begin voor de apetizers (oa oesters) te opdringerig gebracht. We wilden gewoon de kaart zien. Het pand waar Q zich bevindt is erg mooi, origineel om een oude fabriekshal zo te verbouwen. Wil je echter rustig dineren, dan is Q minder geschikt vanwege de akoestiek.

Een verassing! Prachtig ingerichte oud fabriekspand, warm welkom en super enthousiaste medewerkers. De gerechten waren heerlijk, mooi opgediend en met kennis van zaken aanbevolen wijn. Je merkt aan alles dat ze trots zijn op hun product en met recht geef ik ze een top waardering.

Het was weer heerlijk…. Verrassende gerechten en kundige en vriendelijke medewerkers! Sfeervolle inrichting en gezellig terras om in de zomer prima te dineren!

Op een ietwat vreemde locatie is dit hippe restaurant gelegen. De aankomst via een klein industrieterreintje is niet heel fraai. Het restaurant is echter erg mooi, modern en zelfs een tikkeltje grootstedelijk. Ook het terras is ondanks de locatie mooi en sfeervol. Een prima plek om te dineren op deze warme zomeravond. De mooi gepresenteerde aperitieven komen snel ter tafel en worden begeleid door een kleine “shake” op basis van basilicum! Erg lekker en fris op deze warme dag! De service komt vanaf dit moment een beetje in vertraging. Halverwege het nuttigen van het aperitief wordt gevraagd of wij nog aperitiefhapjes willen bestellen. De menukaart hebben wij dan nog steeds niet gezien. Wij bestellen een lekkere portie Iberico ham. Daarnaast ontvangen wij nog een kleine amuse van het huis. Nadat wij uiteindelijk onze a la carte keuze hebben doorgegeven ontvangen wij ciabatta brood met verschillende dips, wederom rijkelijk en net iets specialer dan standaard. Bij de voorgerechten is de oosterse kort gegrilde “beef” erg lekker. Het vlees is mals en de saus en garnituur heerlijk smaakvol! Wel lijkt dit gerecht meer op een mini uitvoering van een hoofdgerecht dan een typisch voorgerecht. De tataki van tonijn is bescheiden in portie, maar ook in smaak. De kwaliteit van de tonijn is oké, maar niet top! Het garnituur van “wakame” van groene kool is lekker. De crème van tomaat voegt weinig toe! Het ontbreekt het gerecht aan diepgang in smaak en het geheel is droog! Ook de dikke paling is niet ruim geportioneerd! Zeker niet voor een a la carte gerecht. De paling is licht gegrild en daarom intens van smaak. Lekker, zeker met de frisse garnituren. De dungesneden runderlede met waldorfsalade id lekker, maar weinig bijzonder. Het vlees is niet top van kwaliteit, het gerecht is wederom enigszins droog en ook hier mis je een goede dressing of saus. Als hoofdgerecht bevalt de kalfswang met zwezerik uitstekend! Het hoofdgerecht is een ruime portie en heeft juist wel de rijkheid in smaak en textuur (smeuïgheid) die bij sommige voorgerechten ontbrak. De kalfswang is perfect mals, de zwezerik kaantjes super krokant en vol van smaak en het gekonfijt aardappeltaartje is heerlijk! Een zeer smaakvol gerecht. De desserts slaan wij vandaag over, wel nog een lekkere kop koffie met erbij geserveerd enkele (huisgemaakte) friandises! Perfect! De service is op een langzame start na prima vanavond. De serveerster is uiterst vriendelijk en enthousiast! Al met al hebben wij een prima avond gehad bij “Qua koken”, al waren wij niet altijd super enthousiast over de gerechten. Dit is wel een mooie zaak, met goede service, een ruime keuze aan a la carte gerechten en een te verantwoorden prijs kwaliteit verhouding. De kleine “extraatjes” zijn erg gastvrij en een prima toevoeging. Met net iets betere productkwaliteit en diepgang in smaak bij sommige gerechten kan dit restaurant zeker nog een stap zetten!

The atmosphere in the old factory is really nice. We opted for the 4-course menu and were not disappointed. All the dishes were very good in terms of quality and craftsmanship. The wine pairing was appropriate. We particularly liked the sashimi as a starter. Everything was complemented by the attentive and friendly service. The restaurant can be recommended without a doubt.

Restaurant Q (Qua Koken) heeft een nieuwe naam, logo en interieur. De warme, chique, hippe stijl combineert industrieel design met planten en mooi meubilair. De gezellige opstelling voorkomt een statische sfeer, zelfs op rustige avonden zoals tijdens het EK. De ontvangst was hartelijk en gastvrij. We begonnen met drankjes, heerlijk brood, twee soorten boters (peterselie en spicy), en pata negra ham. De uitgebreide menukaart bood voor elk wat wils, inclusief vegetarische en vegan opties. We kozen dikke paling op toast met yoghurtcrème en ingelegde groentes; de lichtzure smaak sneed perfect door het vettige van de paling. De steak tartaar was een succes met perfect aangemaakt vlees, een eitje op het juiste punt, en vers geschaafde truffel. Wat een mooie complexe smaken. Vervolgens genoten we van zachtgegaarde kalfswang met peterselie-knoflook-citroenpesto, krokante zwezerik en een gekonfijt aardappeltaartje. De zwezerik was heerlijk crispy en de jus perfect. Extra jus werd met plezier aangevuld. Een echt gastvrije avond, top eten in een heerlijke ambiance. Complimenten aan eigenaren Annika en Joris. We komen graag terug. Absolute aanrader!

But just like my three previous emails, there is no response and the spamming continues. Apparently they are not at all interested in violating all privacy laws. ***************************************** Terrible spammers This company violates privacy legislation in every way with their spam and refuses to be held accountable for it. I ate there once about seven years ago, and now for a few months they've suddenly been bombarding me with newsletters. 1) I never signed up for these newsletters. So they should never have put me on this list. 2) Maybe they have my email address from seven years ago. According to privacy legislation, such data may not be kept longer than reasonably necessary. That is certainly not seven years. 3) According to privacy legislation, I have the right to know what data they have stored about me and how they obtained it. I've asked them this several times but never got an answer. 4) I have also asked several times to be taken off their spam list. That still hasn't happened either. They can cook, but respect for privacy is hard to find.

This was really a party! Nice atmosphere, delicious food and excellent service! Good product knowledge among the men and women in the service. Beautiful wine-food combinations. In short, highly recommended!!

Alles in het restaurant is over nagedacht. De gerechten zijn uniek, de bediening is top en de sfeer is erg aangenaam. Overal zit extra aandacht in. De manier waarop je welkom wordt geheten, hoe de gerechten worden geserveerd en zelfs bij het kopje koffie merk je dit nog. Voor ons zeker een aanrader en we komen snel weer terug!

Tonight, on Valentine's Day, I had a delicious 4-course dinner at Qua Koken. We were well received and had a nicely decorated table. The lovely staff provided us with delicious dishes all evening. We were always told clearly what exactly we had on our plate, great.

It was a private party, employer's Christmas drinks. With small portions of food throughout the evening. Didn't find the food special or tasty. The atmosphere was good, especially thanks to the performance of the three-man band. Only there were speakers that were too large in a small space, so you could no longer hear each other properly. Good, friendly service

The restaurant is located just outside the center of Oldenzaal, parking was available in front of the door: ideal! We had to look for the entrance because it is located on a kind of industrial estate, but once inside it was beautiful. After we were offered a drink, it took half an hour before we received the menu card, and it was also not possible to get the attention of the waiter. This trend of poor service continued into the evening, while there were still many free tables, so we didn't really understand why it took so long. The appetizer of sashimi and ham was excellent. Too bad the clerk didn't know what the sauce with the bread was. The starter and main course from the chef table were a bit disappointing: sometimes very salty and sometimes not at all. The dishes were not completely balanced. The dessert was made at the table (tiramisu), very tasty and fun to experience. It's a shame that they forgot about the hazelnut allergy and we had to point it out to them ourselves. Wines paired very well with the dishes, but information about the wines themselves was limited. All in all, it just wasn't it for us when we look at price-quality ratio.

Had a delicious meal again last Saturday! 4 and 5 course surprise menu! Sashimi and pastrami on the table in advance! Delicious ! All courses really delicious! The matching wines were also very tasty! Staff top notch as always! Just get it! In short, we had another very successful evening in terms of cooking!

The visitor capacity was at the maximum. The wardrobe was therefore a "chaos" and the cold weather. The team just made it by doing their work with great focus. Several small incidents turned into a planned festive, carefree evening; a stressful, anxious evening for our guests and myself. Will we come back? Yes, the map, the location and the team certainly offer a positive perspective and deserve a return visit.
