When we arrived, our table by the window on Kapteinlaan was already festively set. The friendly and attentive 'maitre' brought us drinks and a little later an appetizer that immediately set the culinary tone: delicious! The remainder of the lunch consisted of very special and tasty dishes that not only pleased our tongues, but also our eyes thanks to the suitable tableware and the beautiful layout. Two and a half hours later we left the cozy lounge satiated and completely satisfied. We have gained a sub-star experience. And therefore highly recommended for anyone who appreciates the art of cooking and serving.

It is fantastically delicious, eye-catching and wonderful. Good wine and food combination too. The glasses may be filled sparingly, but the advantage of this is that you can taste all the flavors that pass by and you never lose your attention for the food and the flavors. We had a fantastic afternoon. Feel free to allow 3 to 4 hours for your lunch!

This is my absolute favorite restaurant in Groningen. I recently celebrated my 40th birthday with a delicious lunch, but I have already brought all my friends here. The culinary holidays started with my husband on Christmas Eve. Eating at a slow pace and in a petit committee suits me exactly. I've been there many times and I hope to eat there often in the future. Always tasty, surprising, and a nice atmosphere. The ladies are friendly, authentic and enthusiastic. A nice long lunch and an afternoon of relaxing and connecting with my table companions, in this perfect place. Love it. Sepia is a gem!

Would you drive 200 km to have lunch somewhere? We did it and YES we would do it again. Everything is right at Sepia: the environment, the harmonious, unusual flavors, the combinations of wine and food and the knowledge, skills and personal approach of top chefs Fareeda and Sieta and sommelier Noah. Anyone who visits Groningen (or lives there) should not miss this lunch restaurant!

Crazy good! Coming from London, this could match some of the top spots in town for all-round gastronomy, atmosphere and service. Watch out for this chef, I think.

I had a wonderful lunch here for about a week and a half, it is a great restaurant with super committed, talented and friendly owners! I can only praise the food, it was very tasty; and a very cool way of working with flavors and textures. I don't drink alcohol, but for me and others there were also delicious wine-replacement drinks that, just like the food itself, have a very interesting playfulness. I can only recommend having lunch here, but be sure to bring someone with you for a good conversation, because you will be busy for a while and the food also invites this! It was delicious and super fun!

Really amazing food with flavours and ways of presenting the food I have not experienced before. The non-alcoholic wine selection was and creative! The staff was very friendly and the atmosphere in the place reminds me of a welcoming living room. I can highly recommend this place for an excellent fine dining experience!

Search no further. It is so pleasant here, the food is so delicious and the service is so friendly. We started with (optional) oysters, then a five-course lunch. So many surprising flavors. Including delicious wine. Thank you very much and we will definitely come back again.

Gave my partner a lunch at Sepia for his strokes. Called on the day itself because online reservations were no longer possible. Very nice that we could still go there! Delicious food that was served in small dishes and provided with explanations. Really enjoyed every course! It is also nice that non-alcoholic drinks are also offered to match the dishes! Real class! We were afraid in advance that it would not be enough for us, because the dishes were small, but that turned out to be an unnecessary worry at the end of the trip. In the evening the meal was kept very small, even. Stylishly decorated restaurant. Small scale and felt personal. Nice, friendly service that kept a close eye on its guests. Definitely recommended to opt for the cheese board. Delicious. We enjoyed!

WOW! I was totally blown away by my experience in Sepia. The food was outstanding, visually appealing and accompanied by an explosion of flavour on the tastebuds. The unique combinations of food pairings were a true delight to the senses - a work of art. A theme which stood true across each course was the layers of flavour. Each dish was paired with a wine which worked perfectly to complement the food. The service was fantastic; friendly with an informative description of each dish and its accompanying drink. This 4-course lunch had a lovely progression and was delicious, fun and adventurous. Every few weeks the menu is changed, so you always have an exciting reason to visit again!! Although it was my first time in Sepia, it is definitenly not my last. 10/10 experience!

More or less by accident we ended up in this fantastic restaurant. The 4 -course surprise lunch was a true party! We also got a few appetizers, all equally special and just as tasty! With the simple variant of the surprise menu (without alcohol, without extra corridors) we were extremely pleasant the afternoon "under the pans". Het was echt een geweldige ervaring bij Sepia. In bijna 3 uur tijd hebben we fantastische gerechten voorgeschoteld gekregen, zowel vega als met vlees/vis. De smaakcombinaties waren erg bijzonder en de opmaak was zonder uitzondering uniek en verrassend. Als kers op de taart was de service zeer vriendelijk. Zonder twijfel een van de fijnste plekjes in Groningen en absoluut aangeraden!

Verrukkelijk gegeten, geweldige bediening en een hele fijne sfeer. Het restaurant is erg ruim opgezet.

Inmiddels twee keer heerlijk geluncht bij Sepia. Prachtige 4-gangen verrassingsmenus met optie voor vega of alles. Leuke gerechten die altijd vol smaak zitten, soms gewaagde smaakcombinaties. De sfeer is goed, de bediening ongedwongen en alles is tiptop geregeld. De bijpassende wijnen zijn ook altijd bijzonder en lekker. Aanrader voor een fancy lunch! Het enige minpuntje dat ik kan vinden zijn de wat harde houten stoelen.
