Restaurant 't Ambtshuis, shared dining in Wijk 00 Kesteren

We celebrated an anniversary on Saturday evening for a large group of guests. Everything was perfectly taken care of. Delicious appetizers, friendly and efficient service, and thanks in part to Jan and his staff, we and our guests look back on a pleasant evening.

We ate delicious tapas dishes. The staff were helpful, attentive, and friendly. If we were to be in the area again, I would come back here.

Surprisingly nice restaurant with delicious dishes served in a particularly original way. Very friendly service!

I celebrated my birthday with 25 people at the Ambsthuis Kesteren. All my guests, myself included, were very satisfied with the quality of the food, drinks, and service, including the chef in the kitchen who deserves a special pat on the back. Pass this on, Jan!

A very nice, cozy place to eat something tasty.

Delicious food. Super cozy atmosphere, very friendly service. Highly recommended!!

On Sunday, July 12, we held a baby shower on the terrace! What a lovely place; we got to decorate and arrange it ourselves. We had a delicious high tea for 18 people! It was super!! Even sandwiches tailored for the expectant mom-to-be! And what wonderful service, the owner, and the top chef!!

Delicious food and friendly staff.

We went back to ’t Ambtshuis in Kesteren. We love tapas and all-you-can-eat, but sometimes we opt for a bit more quality, like ’t Ambtshuis. You get 3 rounds in which you choose 3 small dishes. For an extra €3, you can have a fourth round with 3 dishes. It's a very nice concept, and the portions are just right so you can taste many different things. Everything we had was very tasty. My wife really had more than enough with 3 rounds. I am an experienced and well-trained tapas eater 😂, so I took a fourth round as well. In the end, we spent another 3 hours having a wonderful time. Highly recommended!

Had a delicious meal on the cozy terrace. Tasty dishes and friendly service. And the homemade mocktail definitely belongs on the menu!

Celebrated our 25th anniversary, beautiful weather, enjoyed sitting outside, so incredibly atmospheric. Service top-notch!, appetizers were delicious, everyone was very satisfied Jan and crew, thank you so much! Michel and Karin

All the dishes we ate were delicious, only the time between them felt a bit long.

Delicious food and friendly service!

Incredibly surprising! We had a delicious meal and we will definitely come back again.

Had a super delicious meal from 7:00 PM until almost 11:30 PM. Three small dishes at a time, all of which were super tasty. A cozy large table with 8 people and a good flow of food and drinks. Definitely worth repeating. And we did return on the 10th. We were the last to leave. Super tasty and cozy.

We had a delicious meal with the four of us. There was some decision stress though, because there are so many tasty dishes to choose from. Everything is right at this restaurant. Young and super good staff, a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. And the food was super tasty. Well done, Jan Vermeer

Nothing to complain about. Great place. Parking right outside. We were looking for a quiet spot for two people. When reserving for Friday evening, we were informed that it would be a lively but busy night... but... we could sit in "the alcove." The alcove was a separate room where the noise from the neighbors was absolutely not disturbing. The service was friendly and attentive without being pushy. The "alcove" was certainly not forgotten. We had the three-course menu with three smaller bites in each course. A nice concept for those who believe food is all about taste and taking their time to savor it. Prepared and served perfectly. Two people with a few beers and a hundred euros total, and we had a lovely long evening together from 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM. Definitely recommended. Compliments!

A very beautiful venue for a baby shower. We were allowed to decorate the room ourselves. One of the ladies at the baby shower had forgotten to mention that she was vegetarian. When we pointed this out halfway through the meal, a plate was immediately prepared for her. Absolutely fantastic!! The waitress was a very sweet and cheerful girl!

A very nice restaurant with excellent products and friendly, helpful staff. We were here for the first time and will definitely be back. The concept is also great, as the selection is so extensive and good.

We had a delicious meal, a nice atmosphere and a song was sung for my birthday.

We had lunch here on Valentine's Day. We received a very warm welcome, the place was beautifully decorated, and the food was delicious! Highly recommended. We'll definitely be back!

Great place, such a nice atmosphere, the food is excellent and diverse, the service is friendly, polite, but attentive. I love coming here.

Delicious dishes and friendly staff

Delicious, trying everything, very enjoyable. The chef's soup...I could have eaten a pot of wild mushroom soup. We will definitely be back.

Great lunch spot. Plenty of choices. We chose mustard soup and toasted sandwiches. We definitely didn't regret it. See you next time.

We had a delicious meal there last night. It was cozy and we will definitely come back again.

We've been here many times before. We had a wonderful meal this weekend, too. The dishes were beautiful and delicious. The service was excellent. The owner wasn't at his best, but everyone has their bad days. What struck us most was how dirty it was. You could barely see through the windows; there was a lot of dust on the side frames. The radiators were dirty, and the bathroom mirror wasn't clean either. We noticed this, and it wasn't something we were used to.

Highly recommended! Why? Well, because the six of us just had a delicious lunch. We "had to" share everything we ordered, which was presented with exquisite care. The excellent, hospitable service was very pleasant. We will definitely be back for a repeat performance.

A cozy spot for a delicious meal. Delicious snacks and good service.

We sat outside on a lovely terrace. The soup beforehand and the tapas platter were delicious and everything was fresh. We'll definitely be back.

We enjoyed a delicious two-course lunch here. We received a very friendly and professional welcome and were given a lovely spot in the garden (it was wonderfully warm). We sought shelter under the tent/shade cloth. We were given a small soup beforehand, followed by a beautifully filled and presented lunch platter full of delicious snacks. Too many to mention. It was delicious. We'll be back soon.

The food was delicious. The restaurant and staff were friendly.

We had a two-course lunch at this restaurant through a Social Deal. It was a great way to get acquainted... The food was truly delicious! The service was certainly friendly, but if you're offering a cheap deal, make sure your guests have plenty to drink. A missed opportunity! We sat for half an hour after our meals with empty glasses and no one in sight. The service was really bad at that point! When there was service, it was very friendly, that's true. We'd love to go back and try the menu!

Delicious food. An extensive menu with delicious varied dishes. Something for everyone. The atmosphere is good, cozy interior and a beautiful location. Friendly staff. A must for anyone who enjoys a nice evening out!

Cozy outdoor terrace and a delicious club sandwich

Very nice place to eat, you feel more than welcome when you greet them and you keep that feeling all evening. Friendly, attentive and that in combination with delicious food. The menu offers more than enough choice, including vegetarian. Price is absolutely commensurate with quality

I've heard a lot of positive things about it, so I called my friends and said, let's go... And we had a fantastic meal

Delicious food. I recommend it.

Friendly welcome. Smooth and courteous service and we thoroughly enjoyed the excellent mustard soup and the very varied lunch platter. In one word AF.

Nice and clean place with very tasty food and friendly people. Will definitely come back.

Fantastic location, cozy atmosphere and delicious food, top service

Cozy location and value for money

Beautiful spot, friendly service, delicious food.

Delicious food, sweet and attentive staff, and an atmospheric and unforgettable evening with the pub quiz! Abs: volunteers from the House of Dodewaard

Had an unexpected 3-course menu on Monday. Unfortunately, not a photo of everything.

I was recently allowed to enjoy a High Tea as a guest. The food was excellent, beautiful and tasty snacks and a delicious soup beforehand. Definitely good and even too much to taste everything. But….the tea!! Hasn't the Ambtshuis thought about the fact that a real High Tea also includes real tea? No… some cheap bags on the table, mainly tea with fruit flavors. A real High Tea requires really decent tea, so loose tea, and then a variety of black and green teas. And in the English way, a jug of milk and slices of lemon. Only then is it a High Tea. Another thing: the acoustics of this venue make any company talking deafening. Perhaps the Ambtshuis can do something about the design (with professional advice) to dampen the noise a bit.

Delicious food in this nice restaurant. Dishes are of good taste and quality. Staff very friendly and attentive.

Yesterday on Valentine's Day I had a delicious meal with my wife, it was a pleasure with the accordionist who walked around with an appropriate noise level. The service was great, never had to wait for a drink and the food was great! In short, a great experience. Thank you Ambtshuis.

Had a delicious dinner last night in the official house. The service couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. They deserve a 10 and therefore get 5 stars.

Awesome!! Nice atmosphere and good food!!

Delicious food and nice, friendly service.

What a nice restaurant! Nice concept. We had a delicious meal and will definitely go here again.

Great experience!
Had dinner here last Sunday (29-12-2024) and it was really fantastic! The menu design is unique and a lot of fun: you can choose multiple starters (three per round) and even have another round if you want to try more. This was followed by three main courses and three desserts. The portions are nicely sized, which is perfect for sharing and discovering different flavors together. The dishes were all delicious, with great attention to detail and taste. In addition, the service deserves a big compliment: friendly, attentive and professional. The atmosphere in the restaurant made the evening complete. We will definitely come back here again! Definitely recommended for lovers of good food in a cozy atmosphere.

We had a delicious meal, the atmosphere and the service were great. You really deserve 5 stars, we would love to come back.

Cozy atmosphere, good food and drinks. And friendly employees.

Small but cozy restaurant. Very friendly service with delicious different dishes.

Very good restaurant, nice dinner, a nice evening with good food. Great, we'll be back

Delicious food, super fun. So the next appointment is already scheduled to enjoy the delicious food again

Had a lovely meal on the terrace with a group.

We ate here with a group and we would like to give 5 stars! What fun it was to eat here! First of all, the service was super friendly and welcoming. The dishes were all very tasty and the time between servings was perfect. We were able to sit outside on the attractive terrace. The only tip I would like to give is: put some nicer candles on the tables. I thought what was there now looked a bit like grave candles.

Went for lunch with a fairly large group. Ordered a lunch board for 2 people because my neighbor at the table wanted it and I thought it was good... and that board was very well taken care of. Tasty products and enough. The bouncer that my neighbor ordered also looked good. Didn't hear anyone from the fairly large group who had negative comments about the service and the food.

Delicious food! There is something for everyone on the menu... nice staff and a very good chef! Compliments... keep it up!

We had a nice meal outside on a Saturday evening when the weather was nice. It was very busy, almost doubling what they could fit inside, but we didn't notice anything. Super beautiful dishes and all very tasty. We really enjoyed the atmosphere, flavors and hospitality, had a great evening. Thank you

Stopped along the way for a drink, friendly staff and a beautiful garden. We will come back again

We had a surprisingly delicious meal. Friendly staff. Cozy and very friendly. Definitely recommended.

I didn't eat there, so I can't say anything about that. But the restaurant is attractively decorated and they have a clean toilet. The half-covered garden is attractively decorated and illuminated by large candles. There is also ample parking.

Neat and quick service, super good food neatly served

Very tasty food. Highly recommended.

Jan, you've done a great job! Delicious food!

Delicious food, very friendly staff and a great location

Today on Easter Sunday we had brunch with the family at 't Ambtshuis.(8vlwssn/3kndrn) Very well cared for! The good service ensures that you don't miss anything. Started with a nice soup and then the food just kept coming. Delicious Belgian rolls, sandwiches, wraps and crostinis. Hot dishes such as mini quiches, sausage rolls, chicken strips, etc. Various sweets such as cinnamon rolls, muffins and bowies. Actually too many to mention. And to end, a delicious dessert board with all kinds of tasty things. There was also plenty to do for the children. They had fun face painting, could choose something nice from the gift basket, look for eggs in the terrace garden, coloring pages and balloons. We enjoyed it, and the children perhaps even more! Thank you Team 't Ambtshuis!

Nothing wrong with that Friendly service

Made a stopover in Kesteren and had lunch at the official house, delicious food, service was very friendly and fast service, we will remember this!!.

A beautiful place with a nice atmosphere. The food is good. Good service.

A beautiful building located at Kerkstraat 6 in Kesteren. Hip and attractively decorated. We chose the tasting for 2 people. Delicious mustard soup, several slices of baguette topping with cappacio, raw ham, mini club sandwich, and hot dishes. Served on a long plank. The owner is very friendly and gives you the time to choose something tasty from the menu. Detail in the glass of the ice tea was a bunch of berries, a slice of lemon and ice cubes. Cozy tent. We will definitely come back.

Tasty and good food It was great

Same concept, different owner. They've done well. Delicious food! Genuine interest! As far as I am concerned, this is enormous progress compared to the previous management.

Cozy and beautiful restaurant and food is delicious

A fun and delicious shared dinner format

Delicious food, fast and friendly service.

Heerlijke pinches gegeten. Een aanrader. Sfeervol.
