Very kind and helpful restaurant staff in particular Miss Helena Cruz and Miss Lucia.

This restaurant, inside the hotel Novotel Amsterdam City, serves an exceptional dinner menu with outstanding and unwavering quality of presentation.

I don’t often leave negative reviews, but feel compelled in cases such as this where I feel I should warn others away. Aside from the worst service (not rude, just absent and incompetent) I’ve experienced in a long time, the food just wasn’t any good. I had the “North Sea Fish Stew” which was described as a bisque base, but arrived in what looked like a separated, greasy and overboiled-all-day-long substrate, with rubbery fish chunks. This for €26.

Service was slow. Maitre was kind of rude when asked for a table (bad storm day, restaurant was crowded). Appetizers came at the same time as the main dish. Barmen at the bar were unfriendly. Food was unremarkable. Don’t recommend unless you don’t want to go eat outside the hotel.

Arrived for dinner, we asked for a table, we had not reserved (hotel guest), we were asked to wait 1 hour. Returning at 8:30 p.m., we were seated. We ordered after 15 minutes, waited more than 50 minutes for our dish. Bread 10€. The staff is very friendly. (Be careful in the hotel elevator, the prices displayed are for the meal in the room: Less expensive than on site!)

It was wonderful! We were taken care of so well, by Dennis, with a very special charm – the kind you only find in the South Tyrol region. A true asset to the house! The Ceasar salad was excellent, just like my rosé wine. We’ll be happy to come back again!”

Food is pretty bad and quite pricey. Don’t get the burger or soup.

This restaurant was a mistake. The steak I ordered turned out to be a sole, and the waiter informed me that the group who ordered steaks had reported the same thing yesterday, and the kitchen is still serving the same meat! The seafood goulash tastes better than canned herring in tomatoes. There's no salt or spices, and the fish and shrimp are overcooked. The Carpathian scallops were a disaster, and the beef tartare was awful just by the color. The only thing edible were the fries and peanuts at the bar. I don't understand how a four-star hotel can serve such "food."

The chef doesn't know how to make a smashed burger.

Food was poor (General Tso’s chicken and Tom Kha Gai is speechless) and service was very slow. And 8eur for a bottle of water?

This restaurant and bar are located inside the hotel. The restaurant offers breakfast in the morning and then works as a regular restaurant during the day. It is strange that the bar next door offers a different menu than the restaurant. I had snacks (Dutch and Asian) in the bar twice and we had lunch in the restaurant once. In the restaurant I had carpaccio and pasta, my colleague had a burger. I liked everything, the burger was average. Quite expensive, prices are lower in restaurants and cafes next to the hotel. The staff is quite friendly. No complaints or grievances.

Very poor, its low average ranking is well-deserved. As others have mentioned, price/quality ratio is way off. Ordered steak sandwich, received what amounted to hot chipped beef (was technically steak but drowned in a gravyish demi and onions). Also overcooked but even if it had been perfectly cooked it wouldn't have made a difference. Service somehow managed to be glacial even with the low quality. Food was edible but that's about it. There are a million better options in Amsterdam: avoid.

The receptionist got pretty bad attitude. The chicken is too dry to eat.

Great restaurant. The food is delicious although a bit pricy, the abiance is nice, and the service is nice. Be aware that the restaurant is not easy to find, you need to go inside the Novotel and ask

I have been staying at the Novotel for over a week now, and have been to the restaurant a couple of times..... Food has always been great, and the staff have been fantastic to deal with.. It has been an amazing experience for my partner and I as we feel like we were made to be apart of the family.. My partner and I even had a celebratory dinner for our engagement here... We were made to feel like rockstars... The guys behind the bar were amazing and very friendly too... We ended up staying on for a few drinks after dinner... So many great memories of our trip to Amsterdam... Thank You so much to all of you... Much love from the Aussies...

It's a hotel restaurant and the overall atmosphere shows that. However the food quality and service attentiveness will rival independent restaurants. Don't let the hotel location discourage you. I had the North Sea Stew. Not your traditional stew, but very flavorful and full filling.

Great service, okay food, but over priced, €8 for a bottle of water

I tried eating there three times, and each time was so bad that I couldn’t finish my meals and ended up having to find somewhere else to eat. The food is poor, and the staff is unprofessional (if not outright unfriendly—especially the morning shift). The prices are high for the quality offered.

Service is awfull. I've just been ignored after finishing my meal althought multiple waiters kept passing in front of me with empty hands. Food? A disaster! I ordered a grilled steak, medium. Was Raw. Asked to be cooked more. Came raw. The boiled potato that came with it? Raw!!! I think the restaurant only survives because there's no options close by the hotel so guests just go downstairs to have some food. Terrible experience! For full discloser, i asked for the bill and complained about dinner. The restaurant didn't charge me dinner.

Potatos were hard, not well-enough cooked. Ratatouille consisted of mostly onions and some little few peppers Priced to high compared to the quality of the food

Pedí filete con chimichurri y papa asada. El bistec no estaba sazonado. La papa asada estaba fría y el chimichurri era soso. La porción de tarta de queso era pequeña

Fantastische plek, een enorm restaurant met aangrenzend een bar zou je doen denken dat sfeer zou ontbreken. Het is juist erg knus en gezellig! De avond dat ik er met mijn zus was, bleek het al redelijk vol met diverse (tour)groepen te zijn. Aan kwaliteit en aandacht van personeel geen gebrek. Eerst een borrel in de bar genomen en daarna aangeschoven in het restaurant. 2 personeelsleden sprongen er zeker uit; Dylan en Sterica - attent, begrijpen wat je wil zonder het eigenlijk te benoemen. Normaal gesproken heeft een restaurant in een hotel meestal niet mijn voorkeur, maar ben blij hier een uitzondering te hebben gemaakt!

50 minutes of waiting to get the dish, luckily for our little girl they were able to make an effort. Wine is not available by the carafe. The bottle of rosé was served to us (with a few ice cubes) BEFORE the aperitif. Not very smart... The Linguine Pollo E Funghi had no interest, and the Double Dutch Burger is in fact a simple industrial burger (and not a Double), but I'm still looking for the onions. The few fries are anecdotal... Fortunately there was a waiter who was much more resourceful than the others.

They were on 22.01.24. We did not expect anything special. But they were impressed by the service. The two waiters were very attentive and polite! Well done! The kitchen is also delicious 👌🏼

Breakfast is good but dinner was awful and expensive, with (what seems) unfrozen unseasoned vegetables. When I asked for tap water I was brought a small glass instead of a jar for the table. Desserts are very expensive and bland More than 70€ for two (two dishes , a beer, a soda, one dessert) for mediocre quality. Only go for breakfast

Enjoyed the soup, but the service was not acceptable. The waiter forgot to place my order for my main. When the issue was realised, it took over 20 minutes to expedite my main.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS, FOUND A Porcelain shard in my soup and they didn't care. The best they could do is give me more soup or take it off my bill, the manager offered a free drink or something from the store.

Like many of the other reviews for this restaurant, everything is just ok. For the prices, one would expect a better quality of food and service. We ordered the chicken salad, and it was basically a sad Caesar salad. The chicken was dried, and we had to send it back because the cheese was missing from the salad. The burger was ok, but definitely not woth 20 euros. They also charge 7 euros for still water.

Menu needs to have some variety, surprised that there's No Indian food item even though the chef is from Pakistan.

Haben hier 3x gegessen, in einer Gruppe. A la carte. Essen war gut. Auch für die Mitreisenden. Service ok. Preise hoteltypisch hoch, jedoch gibt es im Umfeld des Novotel keine nennenswerten Restaurants.

De bonnes qualités d assiettes, service un peu longuet, prix assez cher par rapport à la France. Levure en bière 🍻🍻

URBN Food & Drink is het restaurant van Novotel City Amsterdam. Omdat we niet veel zin hadden om na aankomst in het hotel nog iets anders te zoeken zijn we hier komen eten en dat hebben we ons niet beklaagt. We zijn gegaan voor hoofdgerecht en desert. Mijn partner had een lekkere steak met smaakvolle frieten. Ikzelf ben gegaan voor de salade met kip. Deze was lekker met voldoende stukken kip. Als desert is mijn partner gegaan voor de kaasschotel die enkele verrassende stukjes kaas bevatten. Mijn keuze was gevallen op de cheesecake. Deze was mooi gepresenteerd en lekker. De prijzen vallen gezien de kwaliteit van het eten nog mee.
