Very attentive service, the burger was unfortunately a bit overcooked, but still delicious. Be careful with the fries if you have children with you, because we had so many that we couldn't eat them all 🙈 The icing on the cake was a small glass of Prosecco with a personal message, because it was my birthday 😀 Thank you!

We've enjoyed spending our holidays in Egmond for over 30 years and have always been happy to eat at van Speijk. The food has usually been delicious, but tonight it was rather mixed – the service, however, was extremely disappointing. Listless waitresses slammed glasses down on the table and reluctantly slid plates onto it at an angle, etc. It's a shame, but there are a few alternatives nearby.

We were there this evening and, as always, were looking forward to Van Speijk, since we've been coming here for many years. The service was extremely unenthusiastic and unfriendly. Glasses were slammed down on the table, orders had to be repeated several times because there was clearly no desire to bring them, food was just shoved around haphazardly. It was quite obvious they had no desire to work, let alone serve us. The food was okay. For the price, there are better options in the area. The steak, at €35, was more like an appetizer in terms of portion size. I would have been ready for a proper meal after that. We left the restaurant hungry.

We had a delicious meal. It was a bit warm in the conservatory, which is in full sun and lacks ventilation. Fortunately, there was still a spot in the shade, and they didn't make a fuss when we switched places.

You can have a really good lunch there; we love going there after visiting the beach, and the staff is very friendly. It is simply worth eating there; if it were around the corner, we would definitely have eaten there a couple of times a week.

Van Speijk Restaurant is a truly wonderful place to eat in Egmond aan Zee. Its location right on the coast is simply fantastic – especially from the terrace or the conservatory, you have a stunning view of the dunes and the North Sea. The menu offers a great selection, and the dishes are fresh, delicious, and of truly excellent quality. Add to that the friendly and attentive service, which makes you feel instantly welcome. It's the perfect place to relax with a coffee, lunch, or dinner, especially after a walk on the beach. Beautiful location, good food, and a pleasant atmosphere – definitely a recommendation from us in Egmond aan Zee.

The food is tasty, but if the atmosphere is unpleasant, you're done quickly and everything tastes a lot worse. The first time we sat here, the staff were standing around whispering to each other about the guests and complaining that they weren't in the mood. Tables were deliberately refused to people, they didn't look at the guests but did touch their hair in the reflection of the windows and drank drinks with their colleagues while we had already been trying to order drinks for half an hour. Fine, that can happen, but now the second time we went, we were done with it. A mega unfriendly girl slammed the food on the table without asking who it was for. After we asked for some empty glasses to be taken away because the table was completely full of them, we got the answer: no, my colleague will do that later... okay, we politely asked someone else, but they didn't really feel like it either; with a grumpy face, a tray was grabbed to clear it off the table. After we had asked for the bill three times from different people, someone came over and just stated a loose amount—no bill, receipt, or anything so we could see what the amount consisted of… and then still finding it strange when we asked for one anyway: "Oh, that never happens, I never give a receipt." Pfffff, what a terrible waste of a beautiful place and delicious food. Your staff is ruining your business.

The food was delicious and the portions were generous, so we left with a full stomach!! Truly fantastic staff who are very friendly and provide prompt service!! Vince served us a lot. My 6-year-old daughter ate two portions of sushi, and I always order pork, fish of the day, or chicken satay.

On the boulevard with a (partial) view of the sea. Parking is difficult, especially during peak season. Be prepared for a short walk. Friendly service. I had satay with fries. Chicken breast was dry; it would be better to use chicken thigh. It could also use more sauce. Will I come back if I'm in the area? Yes, definitely, but then I'll order something else.

We had a delicious meal and the service was very pleasant. Someone in our party accidentally ordered a dish with asparagus without informing them of an allergy beforehand. When we pointed this out, a new dish was prepared immediately without any problems or extra charge. It was resolved very kindly and professionally. Definitely recommended!

We ate at this restaurant because we'd only had good experiences in the past and were really looking forward to our visit. Unfortunately, we were disappointed this time. Upon arrival, we were seated at a dirty table, which wasn't cleaned until we asked for it. When we asked for the wine list, we were only given a standard drinks menu. While the appetizers and drinks arrived quickly, the long wait for the main courses began. We had to wait over an hour, while guests who arrived and ordered later received their food long before us. When we asked the waitress about the status of our order, she simply said it would take about five more minutes. Even after those five minutes, the food didn't arrive. It wasn't until another 15 minutes later that it was finally brought – unfortunately, without any comment or apology. The food was placed on the table rather carelessly. When we later asked if we had enjoyed our meal, the waitress seemed uninterested and walked away before we could even properly reply. Even when my partner mentioned at the checkout that the wait had been very long, there was no response whatsoever. As for the food itself: My partner's burger bun tasted like it was from two days ago. This is very disappointing, as we came with high expectations based on our previous positive experiences. We hope that the service and quality will improve in the future.

Van Speijk restaurant scores points for its ambiance. The service, however, leaves much to be desired. Despite Dutch translation, the wrong salad was served several times. If the quality of the main ingredients and the quantity of the side dishes were adjusted to the high price point, the restaurant could reach its full potential and offer a truly convincing culinary experience. Unfortunately, for us, the food was a complete disappointment. We were really looking forward to the meal but were let down. Both the steaks and the side dishes were cold. After our complaint, one portion was sent back. The staff were at least understanding, and we ultimately only had to pay for one dish. Nevertheless, a bad taste remains.

Spent a few days in picturesque Egmond aan Zee and discovered Restaurant van Speijk there. Good lunch and dinner menu. Had lunch and dinner there daily. The menu offers something for everyone; it is well-organized and just not too extensive. There are options for those on a smaller budget as well. Dishes are prepared tastefully and well. You can see that care is taken. Attached are some photos for an impression. I recommend making a reservation in the evening; there is also plenty of parking available nearby and next to the charming town center. There are also options for allergy sufferers, and the necessary care and attention is paid to this as well. We thought it was fantastic to eat there!

Went out for dinner with girlfriends. The waitress seemed nice, but when I wanted to order a wrap, she sarcastically said it wasn't possible. The menu didn't list the times when you could or couldn't order certain items. We had to wait at least an hour between the starter and the main course. The Japanese salmon was tasty, but the vegetables were tasteless. I found it really mediocre. When you look at the menu and the prices, you expect more.

What a wonderful place to step into. As an unreserve-free group of 13, the staff immediately sprang into action without hesitation to quickly find us all a spot together. Even during all of this, they remained professional and friendly. Orders were taken efficiently and everyone gets their own menu (you don't always see that!!). Your drinks are (partially) poured and they come very quickly. With the food, they brought exactly the right amount of cutlery for everyone, which wasn't in those pre-packaged bags but really laid out per person per item. Our reasonably priced food all arrived at the same time and it was all still deliciously warm. From salads (not heated up, of course 😂) to wraps to burgers [~€20 with fries] to spareribs [~€23, 2 ribs with fries]. At the end, we had a nice chat with the staff. In short; you get attention, precision, attentiveness, and friendliness, and you don't pay top dollar for it. Highly recommended in Egmond aan Zee. I will absolutely be back here.

We've been going to Egmond aan Zee for a few days every year for years now. This has allowed us to discover various restaurants. We hadn't even considered Restaurant van Speijk. Last year, I booked a table for dinner by chance. The service was warm, exceptionally friendly, and attentive. Our request for a quiet table (because of our dog) was immediately granted. We liked the ambiance right away. The menu is concise and uncluttered, which speaks volumes about the quality of the food. A large menu with numerous dishes often relies on convenience foods rather than freshly prepared ingredients. Furthermore, the ingredients may be past their prime due to low demand. A small but excellent menu featuring fresh dishes and ingredients is much better. My steak was cooked to perfection with fresh vegetables and potato cake. The fish of the day (cod) that my wife ordered was also very good. All in all, delicious food, superb service, and a pleasant atmosphere – we were very satisfied. Even during our recent stay in Egmond, we visited van Speijk several times and were not disappointed. We'll gladly return. I wish the owners and staff of van Speijk continued success in the future.

We ended up here unexpectedly. Both the chicken satay and the fish of the day were delicious! I've never had such wonderfully crispy fries! I saw some other delicious pastries passing by, but there was so much food that I couldn't eat anything else, so we'll save the pastries for another time. All in all, it was a real treat and definitely worth repeating!

Right behind the dunes with a sea view, this is a great spot in EaZ. Friendly and customer-focused service, and the product is excellent. A beautiful atmosphere in the building where the series "Vachtzee" was once filmed. The only downside was there was no menu with the drink prices. We see this often, and it's a real annoyance for us. Why do you do this as an owner? :(

We had a wonderful evening here on Valentine's Day. They went all out with a Valentine's balloon at every table. The food was delicious, as was the Moscow mule. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Definitely worth it!

We went to the restaurant for lunch yesterday without a reservation. That wasn't a problem at all; we received a very warm welcome and were allowed to choose our own table. We were able to order our drinks very quickly, and what I personally found very nice was that they had non-alcoholic beer on tap. There were three highly recommended dishes for lunch, and we chose the fish of the day: redfish with vegetables and potatoes in beurre blanc. It was a delicious lunch, very relaxed atmosphere, great staff, and a view of the sea. The price was also reasonable for us; each of us had a main course, two drinks, and an espresso to finish. I should also mention that the restaurant is very dog-friendly.

The location is great, but I have poor memories of my visit two weeks ago. We started with a cappuccino, but the waitress's hand wasn't steady, so the coffee spilled over the cup. The stroopwafel and saucer were soaked with coffee. Then everything took ages, from the menu to the lunch menu. The waitress was practically waiting for my mother to finish eating, and by the time she had the last bite in her mouth, the plates were already being cleared away. We were stunned at that moment and now regret not saying anything. Finally, I wanted to pay, but reaching one of the waitresses was impossible. So I went inside to pay. We won't be back anytime soon.

Fast friendly service, great meals

We were looking for a restaurant near the beach and found Van Speijk via Google. We made a reservation through the website, which was very easy, and indicated that we wanted a window seat and needed soft chairs due to an old ailment. We were politely called to say it wasn't certain and that only high chairs were currently available. But they said they would make sure that if a low table became available, it would be ours. We were pleasantly surprised that when we arrived, the low table by the window was already reserved. It was really nice that, despite it being busy, they took the time to arrange this for us. Then the service: super friendly, everyone was friendly and attentive, not pushy, just excellent. The food also deserves compliments; it was simply delicious and not too cluttered, which I personally don't mind. The four of us each had a different dish, and everyone devoured every last bite. It was delicious and well-prepared, absolutely nothing to complain about. The shop has a cozy, warm interior, making you feel right at home. It features a clean restroom and a lovely view all around. We finished the evening with a delicious coffee and were almost the last to leave, which means you had a great time. Van Speijk team, thank you for the wonderful evening and your hospitality. We had lunch at this restaurant. We reserved table 3. It was hot, but that day it was sea fog. This gave us a lovely fresh breeze on the terrace. We started with mustard soup (chef's soup). Unfortunately, it was watery, and the cup was full of croutons (too many, a handful). Unnecessary. The soup was watery and not up to par with a real mustard soup. (Make it creamier.) The brie rolls and salmon rolls were very tasty. We had a choice of white or brown bread. The young staff were excellent. The service was excellent. We enjoyed a lovely meal on the terrace under a parasol.
