We had a wonderful meal with delicious wines. WIJS has continued on the same (excellent) footing as La Première. Definitely worth a return visit!

We had something to celebrate and chose Restaurant Wijs in Anna Paulowna. What a great choice that was! We received a warm welcome. The friendliness and dedication to making our stay enjoyable were evident throughout the evening. We spent almost six hours there. Each course was complemented, or rather, complemented, by delicious wines. Each wine was accompanied by a commentary, as was each beautiful culinary masterpiece. What a fantastic experience at Restaurant Wijs in Anna Paulowna! We chose the 7-course surprise menu with paired wines, and each course was a feast in itself. But what truly made this evening special was the excellent service. The small team is not only friendly and professional but also exudes enormous passion and love for their craft. As a guest, you feel truly seen and cared for. In my opinion, Wijs is an absolute must for anyone seeking a high-end culinary experience. Delicious dishes, where we chose a wine arrangement that complimented the dishes well. Fantastic restaurant and only a 10-minute bike ride for us. Very nice to have such a high-quality restaurant nearby, an enrichment for our polder.

Enjoyed a four-course dinner on Friday evening. Quality of food and wine was fine. Price-quality was also very good. One small downside: for a four-course dinner the quantity was on the moderate side. Explanation of my comment about the noise level. One table occupied by 4 gentlemen: they spoke to each other at full volume.

Had a great meal at WIJS! The atmosphere was wonderfully quiet and friendly. Quiet background music in a homely space that is not crammed with tables/reservations. The food was excellent with surprising flavours (such as the kletskop with crayfish and avocado). The service was also good and they thought along with our wishes. Two small remarks: the liquid course with butterscotch and rum could be better announced. We found this very strong and did not think it fit in with the menu. Driving with such a cocktail also becomes difficult. In addition, you could upgrade the terrace. Now the atmosphere/decoration inside is very different from outside, so you do not quickly get the idea that there is a luxury restaurant.

Very good food. Beautiful combinations that you won't easily eat anywhere else. The hostesses make you feel welcome, you feel comfortable. And after eating you can sit back and enjoy it for a while. It's also the little things: a napkin that has fallen on the floor is immediately replaced. When you get up to use the toilet, the napkin is neatly folded and placed on the table. It can be seen that food is prepared with enthusiasm and expertise. Service is good. Attention is paid to small details (such as if a piece of cutlery falls on the floor, clean cutlery is almost immediately found). We are regularly asked if everything is to your satisfaction. It is clearly explained what is on the plate and the wines are selected from the courses and provided with explanations. All in all we had a pleasant and very tasty experience.

Met onze vriendengroep dit keer gekozen voor Wijs. Heerlijk gegeten, de prijs- kwaliteit verhouding klopt. Daarentegen klopt de prijs-hoeveelheid verhouding niet. De gerechten zijn écht (te) klein. Ander punt is de akoestiek: er is in het restaurant zóveel echo dat je niet anders dan met veel moeite een gesprek met je tafelgenoten kunt voeren.

Delicious food served like a painting by friendly people. The wine arrangement (which I didn't choose) also has a nice story per glass.

Just an addition to Jordi from Eindhoven. I was sitting at the same table. We had a delicious meal at the end when someone told us that they didn't like fish. This has really been addressed very well. I also had a nice variety of non-alcoholic drinks with each course that went well with all the dishes. It was an AMAZINGLY fun experience.

De prijzen zijn niet goedkoop, maar de kwaliteit van het eten en de service maakt dat helemaal goed. For this restaurant you really have to drive to Anna Paulowna. It is a small and attractive restaurant. The service is neat and very friendly. We ate a 5-course menu and were surprised by the flavor combinations in combination with the wines. The chef can REALLY cook. This restaurant received a 9.0 from the Noordhollands Dagblad. As far as I'm concerned it's a 9.5. Truly a hidden gem!!

Restraunt Wijs is a hidden gem in Anna Paulowna, from the moment we walked in until the last bite, everything was perfect!

The surprise menu is only complete if you don't make it too difficult for the chef by eating vegetarian, because then they simply leave out the animal products or you get a bowl of lettuce. Not of this time

Four course menu done. The dishes and between dishes were all taste sensations. Delicious. Just a pity that the quantity was too little. I'm not a big eater and don't want to be full after dinner, but it could have been a little more.

Today we had an amazing 4-course lunch at "Wijs". All dishes are truly a feast for your taste buds. And the plates look like paintings, so beautifully laid out. 7-course surprise dinner plus Bob wine arrangement plus a delicious cava beforehand. All courses were tasty, balanced and the selected wines matched well. Service was good, explanation of dishes and wine was great. They know what they're talking about. (un)Wisely delicious meal, 7 course dinner. On Saturday evening, January 28, 2024, on a child-free evening 😉, we spontaneously had dinner here. After being warmly welcomed, we took a seat. The hostess took our wishes into account in order to be of service to us with regard to drinks. And it worked! We enjoyed the 7 courses and the non-alcoholic drinks offered. Gained a new experience: alcohol-free wine made from specially prepared tea by a London sommelier. Took some getting used to but not bad! How brave that such a young restaurant takes this gamble! Kudos for this. Each of the 7 courses provided a finely composed whole with delicious additional flavor elements. Kudos for this too! The service, customer focus, the ambiance and the food made it a perfect romantic evening! Kitchen brigade and ladies, thank you for this wonderful evening! Restaurant Wijs is located on the edge of Anna Paulowna. And it was certainly very good! Upon entering we are kindly received by Marjo and we are guided to the cozy restaurant. We pass the kitchen where Duncan is holding a cooking workshop with a group of enthusiastic hobby chefs, what a great way to share your knowledge. We sit at a beautifully set table by the window, where we have a beautiful view. We start with a delicious Cava! And soon we get our appetizer. What a wonderful start to dinner! Ceviche of scallops, carrot cream, passion fruit gravy. The wines from the wine pairing were great! Wine and food are perfectly fine. Duncan and Marjo know very well what they are doing in this great restaurant. We would love to come back again when we are near Anna Paulowna.❤️
