Delicious food! We truly enjoyed the seven-course dinner. Every course surprised us. The mackerel and Iberico were the highlights of the evening. The service was friendly and knowledgeable. The chef even came to our table. It was nice to hear him explain the dishes. All in all, a fantastic evening. Yano is high on our list of favorite restaurants. Go experience it for yourself!

Star-worthy dinner with a warm heart!! What a wonderful experience! From the moment we walked in, we felt welcome. The personal and warm service made this evening truly unforgettable. We even felt like we got to know the owners a little... that added something extra to the whole dinner and made it special. The food was superb: prepared with passion. The flavors were surprising and varied. The mackerel, in particular, was an absolute highlight... a wonderful signature dish. The fact that Yuri also shared his personal story with it made the dish extra special and delicious for us. And then there was the wine: a wide selection, and every glass was truly delicious, with excellent explanations and guidance. My husband finished with a wonderful selection of cheeses, originally composed and full of flavor. The portions were generous, and the price-quality ratio is excellent. We enjoyed every course, every conversation, and every surprise on the plate. We will definitely be back!

What a great restaurant! The atmosphere is low-key, but you are completely spoiled with attention and beautiful flavors. Beautiful interior, great service, delicious wine and delicious food. Every dish was a picture and all flavors were equally surprising and delicious. We were both already sold on the garlic and onion amuse. Yesterday we ate at Yano for the first time. What an experience! The food is innovative, delicious and they use beautiful products. The way it was served was also magnificent. A big 10. The service is knowledgeable, friendly and service-oriented. This level of service is of high quality. Had a fantastic evening with my father for his birthday. Reception was professional but also very friendly. Menu was inspiring and contained a very good combination of flavors and a nice correlation between meat, fish and vegetarian. The story behind some of the dishes was also wonderful to learn! It was noticeable that there was certainly also knowledge of wine. In short, a very pleasant experience that, especially considering the fact that they have only been open for 2 years, could be worthy of a Michelin star in my opinion. We will definitely come back!

Our first experience at Yano's last night and what a great one. Had a really great evening and enjoyed a 7-course menu. All dishes including the appetizers were fantastic, what wonderful flavors. The smell, taste and presentation of the dishes, everything is great. The only thing we missed a bit was a matching wine arrangement, but on the other hand it is also very nice that they sometimes make slightly different choices than expected in terms of both wine and dishes. That makes Yano special and this is what sets them apart. The chef, his wife and the rest of the team are also very friendly and really take the time for you, you feel the passion and love for the profession. This was really the best experience for us in recent years and we would love to come back again.

Beautiful place, expert service, truly fantastic food. Last 9/26/24 we ate here with two people. Dishes are really fantastic, many star restaurants can be proud of. No matching wines are served, but a large wine list and good advice mean that you can still drink tasty wine with your dishes. The opening dish with XO gravy/sauce, the mackerel with bomboe and the pre dessert with the Comté cheese were highlights of the menu and the entire experience!

Vanmiddag hebben wij met onze zoon geluncht bij YANO. Onze zoon sprak al anderhalf jaar lyrisch over dit restaurant. Wij zijn het 100% met hem eens. Sublieme keuken, fantastische smaken, zeer verfijnde gerechten en een supergastvrouw en sommelier. Werkelijk álles klopt hier! Ook de kok (eigenaar) verdient een ster!!

The flavor palette in the different dishes is truly fantastic! 🍷 Accompanying wines? They do not have this on the menu, but they do have delicious wines by the glass and in the bottle that the sommelier presents with great passion. 👩‍🍳 The service is really great, the hostess is also the owner and is passionate about her own business. The menu is very special. All plates are decorated like fairy tales and the smells and colors are beautiful. I grew up with Indian cuisine and it was a treat to rediscover familiar flavors in a completely different way. The menu is varied, sometimes with an oriental influence, sometimes something completely different. The mackerel was fantastic.

Went to this restaurant on Amarone's recommendation, because they were not serving lunch that day. Special dishes where taste comes first. You can tell that there is a lot of passion and knowledge here. The wines we tried were all top notch. Definitely recommended if you are looking for something special.

Very delicious food! Friendly service and attractive space to dine in. The dishes were completely to our taste, I thought it was better than other restaurants that already have a star. I won't be surprised if you get one too! In any case, we definitely want to come back someday!

It was a fantastic experience! The 7 course menu is highly recommended! Not offering a wine pairing is a missed opportunity. However, the sommelier makes up for this with her sublime advice on matching wines. The hostess was also neat and extremely service-oriented. Nice that the chef also presented one of the dishes with a personal anecdote about his grandmother. That dish, the mackerel, was the highlight of the evening in our opinion. Had a great lunch in this cozy restaurant where you feel very welcome. And we really enjoyed tasty creative dishes. How wonderful, an asset to Rotterdam. And it makes sense that they came first in the Hennessy competition!

It was our first fine dining experience in Rotterdam. Compared to the one in Den Haag and Amsterdam it was very overpriced. We had the 5 course tasting menu, but I have to admit that 2 of the 5 courses were actually bad. The makkarel, which was served as the signature dish, could be the least tasting meal I ever had in fine dining restaurants. Unfortunately the other meals including amus bouche’s are moderate. The ambiance is also ok, but nothing special. The chef himself was very engaged with the guests, this saved the day..

On Wednesday afternoon we enjoyed lunch with a capital G in pleasant business company. What wonderful dishes were prepared for us, the wines were delicious and the service more than excellent. The lady who served us is a professional. Knew everything about the wines and dishes that were presented to us. The chef proudly talked about the inspiration his grandmother gave him and how he refined her dish with mackerel in his kitchen. His story was beautiful, personal and passionate. This business is one of the best in our city. Compliments to the team. We will definitely come back.

We hebben een heerlijk 7 gangen diner gegeten met enkele uitstekend smakende gerechten die zeker sterwaardig waren. Een heerlijke champagne vooraf en overheerlijk brood. Service was goed verzorgd. Een mooie aanwinst voor Rotterdam.

Wat een waanzinnige ervaring. Op alle fronten mijn verwachtingen overtroffen. Eten is simpelweg geweldig. Lunchmenu genomen. Van de amuse tot en met het toetje verrassende smaken die ik nog niet eerder in Nederland heb geproefd. En dan heb ik het nog niet gehad over het personeel dat professioneel is maar totaal niet pushy. Tot slot, chef die aan tafel de gerechten toelicht en aan het eind bedankt. Echt verbluffend goed. Ontzettend fijn verjaardagsdiner gehad . De chef weet Indische/Indonesische smaken op een creatieve manier in de gerechten te verwerken, zonder de authentieke smaken te verliezen. De service was ook uitzonderlijk goed! We zullen zeker terugkomen.

Begin mei voor het eerst bij Yano gedineerd. Wat een aanwinst voor Rotterdam! Laat het feit dat deze gelegenheid misschien iets buiten het stadcentrum ligt je er niet van weerhouden te gaan. Natuurlijk konden we dit verwachten aangezien de eigenaren hun sporen in culinair Rotterdam wel hebben verdiend. De sfeer in het kleine, maar gezellige restaurant is geheel van deze tijd en dat geldt ook voor zowel de menukaart als de wijnkaart. Kwaliteit is uitstekend en de bediening vriendelijk. Aanrader!

Dit is wel een van de pareltjes die je moet vinden en wil ontdekken. Met weinig voorkennis een tafel gereserveerd voor 3 Bourgondiërs. Het werd een geweldige avond van culinaire verwennerij met een warme gastvrijheid. Marel de sommelier is de zgn kers op de taart. Het enthousiasme en haar kennis is aanstekelijk en nodigt uit om alles te willen proeven. Dat de M ster eraan komt is een kwestie van tijd. Kleine note: Gault&Millau Awards 2023 ‘Hoogste nieuwkomer van het jaar’ Yano in Rotterdam, meteen goed voor 14,5|20 punten én twee koksmutsen. Britta, Marel en Yuri ga zo door!

I am absolutely surprised that YANO is not the talk-of-the-town. The restaurant opened in November 2022, and while they already scored a 14.5 out of 20 points in the Gault&Millau guide (which I think is still a tad too low), the restaurant is not that easy to find online. Yuri (chef de cuisine) and Britta have really made something special. Let's talk about the most important part: the food. It is important to emphasize here that Yuri has worked at some of the best restaurants in Rotterdam, including FG, FG food labs (sous chef), Amarone (sous chef), and Millen (sous chef). His resume is reflected in the skill with which he made his menu at YANO. But more than just technical skill, Yuri knows how to create a story; the dishes build upon each other, creating a coherent and consistently amazing experience. Some interesting dishes to mention. An amuse-bouche was crispy chicken skin with a duck liver parfait and pure chocolate. Langoustine with a layer of pancetta and various preparations of cucumber. Mackerel with a crispy layer of potato, bumbu, and kaffir lime. Duck liver with various preparations of lychee and purple carrot. And our favorite: Fette Berta (a type of triple cream cheese) with a mouse of Vuurzee (a champagne-based beer) with a tonka bean vinaigrette, bee pollen, and herbs that I cannot recall the names of. Even the friandises were amazing, with one being a cocos-covered ball of white chocolate filled with a liquid of pandan and gula djawa. Absolutely amazing. All dishes were consistently well constructed and interesting. Yuri uses a great variation of ingredients and flavors, but every ingredient felt like it had a role in the dish. I'm really looking forward to seeing what other stories Yuri and Britta will tell; I think they succeeded in making something special.

Een aanwinst voor Rotterdam, Gastvrouw Britta was niet aanwezig, maar werd fabelachtig waargenomen. Ook chef-kok Yuri besteed veel aandacht aan zijn gasten en kookt de sterren van de hemel. Wat een goede restaurant! We hebben hier uitstekend gegeten. Prachtig opgemaakte gerechten, spannende smaken, hele goede service, een ontspannen sfeer. En een chef die graag uitlegt hoe hij het heeft gemaakt. We gaan in ieder geval zelf magnoliabloem siroop maken .

Prijs kwaliteit niet helemaal . Wij hebben a la carte gegeten . Eten en wijn waren goed, maar met 3 gangen gingen wij helaas met lichte honger naar huis. Gerechten waren voor a la carte in een fine dining restaurant net iets te klein . Verhouding menu 6/ 7 gangen tegenover 3 gangen a la carte niet goed.

Heerlijk geluncht met 7 gangen van 13.15 tot 17.30. Eten is top, opmaak van de bordjes is ‘kunst’ en wijnadvies uitstekend! Veel ‘verrassends’, maar die sukade….WOW! En dat alles in een schitterend gestylede zaak. Chapeau voor deze verse uitbaters en staf.

Our eyes were lit up by their exquisitely presented dishes. The flavours of ingredients were given a second life by the team of chef Yuri. The combinations are new and yet surprisingly delicious. To my surprise, Everything dish were made from scratch by a small team of 3 people in the kitchen. Britta gave us warm and attentive service and sommelier Marèl gave the delicious drink recommendations for my husband and made me fresh alcohol-free cocktails perfectly matching our dishes. Chef Yuri was so kind to meet us in person and shared the stories of their restaurant. Yuri and Britta are living proof that with genuine talent, passion, dedication and last but not less love, not only you can make your dreams come true, but also accomplish beyond your expectations. For the first time, my husband, who is always reserved and reluctant to give compliments, told Yuri and Britta we would definitely come back.

We were welcomed and served with class. Enjoyed the 7 course menu with great wines, and will do so again! This relative small restaurant with top quality service and menu is one to put on your list.
