Yesterday I served Ricardo's pom at my party. A huge success! It was delicious. Highly recommended. The people were also great, and I'll be back next year!

Dear Ricardos, this is my problem: The food is delicious. But I'm always treated so rudely. 3 solutions to my problem: 1. You just greet me kindly and say "Sorry it's taking a while." or: 2. You stop cooking so deliciously. or: 3. I stop trying "one more time" and stay away for good.

I don't know who's in the kitchen at Ricardo's....I ordered Chinese tayer soup today and I got soup with not a single Chinese tayer, but six pieces of cassava...it tasted like cassava soup, and when I called about it, the chef found my complaint unfounded because I had complained about his ochre soup two days ago. Here goes...His ochre soup, oh my god, had half a wing, two pieces of beef, a small antroewa, and was watery—ridiculous beyond words. I was compensated after my complaint...it certainly wasn't Surinamese ochre soup, and that absolutely must be said...IF YOU MAKE MISTAKES, YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO BE CALLED OUT, ESPECIALLY IF PEOPLE PAY FOR IT. I WILL NEVER ORDER THERE AGAIN.

After waiting for more than an hour for the food to be delivered, they canceled the order. If you can’t handle the demand, simply don’t be open online.

Today we got food for 18 people, super super, everything was complete, nasi satay, roasted chicken, vegetables, everyone kept asking where it came from, SUPERRRRRRR TASTY 18 PEOPLE 200 EU AND FOOD LEFT

The food can be delicious… if it ever makes it to your table or house on time. The ladies behind the counter and the phone? Let's just say they've probably traded customer service training for a course in "making tjoerie and staring indifferently 101." Service-oriented? Only towards their own paycheck. The attitude "I don't really care, as long as I get paid" isn't a byproduct here, but a company philosophy. And let's be honest: that kind of behavior doesn't come out of the blue; it trickles down from the top. The management and culture breathe the same: "We'll see, or we won't, it doesn't matter." So if you're looking for food and timing is important: go to New Draver. There are no little children behind the counter, and at least they exude a certain respect. Ricardo's: for those who have patience, want to practice zen, and are in no hurry. For the rest... good luck. Peace ✌️

The food is fine. The service is just a shame it's less than perfect. The order wasn't prepared until it arrived. After 20 minutes, I inquired about the details, and only then was any action taken. After waiting an additional half hour, I didn't even get an apology or anything. If everything were more punctual and customer-friendly, I'd give it 5 stars. Unfortunately, not this time.

Ordered 3 main courses: 2 satays and 4 corn porridges. My son came home with 1 main course: 2 satays and 4 corn porridges. The message was that they didn't have the rest of the order. They gave him a piece of chicken instead of 2 main courses. He paid 60 euros for the extra piece of pickled chicken! It's a shame they often get it, but now they don't anymore. It would have been nice to call back and mention it!

The portion of tjauwmin was very small. I paid too much for what I got. There was still enough room in the container to make a full portion. The potato steak was too dry and tasteless. The portion of potatoes was also too small, and the portions in the container were unappetizing. I'm truly disappointed and won't be ordering food from here again.

Ricardo's has been my favorite place for authentic Surinamese food for years. Because I was often disappointed by sold-out dishes when picking up, I recently decided to mainly order in. Unfortunately, the delivery service leaves much to be desired. Over the past five (!) orders, something has always gone wrong: delivery times of more than two hours despite planning a delivery period well in advance, incorrect or incomplete orders and poor accessibility in case of problems. Today again: two portions were completely missing. When I called, I was on hold for fifteen minutes without being helped. Fortunately, I was able to get a refund for the missing portions through Uber Eats, but placing a new order was no longer an option because everything was now sold out. It is a real shame that the logistics at Ricardo's are not in order. The fact that they choose to use their own delivery drivers instead of Uber delivery drivers clearly works to their disadvantage. I am willing to pay more to receive a complete, correct order on time and I think many others are with me. Nevertheless, Ricardo's remains highly recommended for food. My tip: pick up (early!) or eat on site, the risk of having it delivered is absolutely not worth the disappointment

OMG! Saoto Soup 10+ More than surpassed, and quite tasteful. Saoto Soup eaten without egg and meat!! I'm really blown away, absolutely stunning L.E.K.K.E.R.R.RRRRrrrrrr Ps of course we will take an extra Saoto with us to oso✨🌟💫⭐️ Also met Ricardo in person! Cool Guy😉 We'll definitely be back more often this year!

One of the Surinamese Restaurants that is really decorated as a restaurant. Inviting and contemporary. The kitchen is open; which is also something different. And the menu. Mmmmmmmmm. Grantangi. Keep it up. I'm proud of you.

Well we just ordered food and for the 2nd time we are already disappointed. Salmon moxi alesi was too salty and that rice was brown which is very strange. My colleague's garter was too mushy and brown. And that noodles had no vegetables. Too bad about this. Ricardo's eatery you have seriously deteriorated!!!

Got potato steak on Sunday. Opened the container of baked potatoes in the car to eat 1 piece. To my surprise, I see that the potatoes (which I just received a minute ago) look limp and dark brown. Not what I'm used to. I then returned my meal. The lady at the counter called someone from the kitchen, who gave me the bag with the meal and said that the potatoes were burnt and did not look good. With a surprised expression, he took the bag without worrying about losing a customer. I am still from the generation that got the potato steak at Wan Ati in Gerad Doustraat when Ricardo himself was in the kitchen. Then the potato steak was really TOP!!! But now you have to be lucky to get a quality meal. It seems as if the current generation of staff thinks that you should be happy that you get food and not complain.

I am writing to express my deep disappointment and dissatisfaction with my recent experience at Ricardo's takeaway center. I placed an order at your location, and unfortunately my experience was far from satisfactory. After waiting for my order for a period of over 20 minutes, I politely asked about the status of my food. Instead of an appropriate response or apology, I was met with rude comments from your staff, suggesting that I should not have ordered if I was in a hurry. This lack of customer service is completely unacceptable and shows a lack of respect for the customer. What was even more disturbing was the fact that some of your employees resorted to harsh and even physical behavior when I expressed my disappointment. This type of behavior is completely inappropriate in a professional environment and goes against all standards of customer service and decent behavior. Aside from the poor service, the quality of the food I ultimately received was well below par. It was not only disappointing, but also distasteful. As a loyal customer of your establishment, I expected much better service. I am disappointed and shocked by my experience and hope that you will take this matter seriously and take appropriate action to ensure that incidents like this do not happen again.

As a pregnant woman I have quite a few cravings and so last week I suddenly decided on Surinamese food from Amsterdam. I asked my cousin who lives in Amsterdam where I should be and so I could send my husband to Ricardo's for a beef rice with tayer leaf and corn porridge (I had not eaten the latter for at least 20 years). It already smelled like home food and that's exactly how it tasted! Today I sent my husband to Amsterdam again for BB with R and sauerkraut with salt meat and chicken. Once again it was not normal spang, including the piccalilly sambal! Even to eat the rice dry... Thank you Ricardo that since this discovery I can finally taste the taste of my demented grandmother's food again! I missed it ❤️

At Ricardo's it already smelled like good food when I walked in. I ordered a tjau_min chicken with choi sam and across the street at Zondag (the lunch variant from the same owner) I ordered 2 fried cod sandwiches, one with sweet and sour shrimps and a chicken curry sandwich. The atmosphere was chill and the people in the restaurant were clearly enjoying their food. The leather sofas looked inviting and through the open kitchen you could clearly see that it was neat and clean. I saw the people everyone in the kitchen wearing hair nets. Once I got home I tasted the tjau-min... it was delicious and fresh with crispy choi-sam (a kind of pak-choi) through it. The chicken was nice and tender from the oven and had a beautiful color and a delicious sauce (not cornstarch 5 spices sauce but a real sauce from the chicken marinade itself). The bakkeljauw sandwiches had just the right taste, not too dry fish but also not too much oil or anything, the sandwich sweet and sour shrimps also had a nice taste, fresh shrimps and delicious sambal... in short, tasty food that I happily pay for. I will definitely come back to try something delicious again.

One of the most famous S'name (30 years) kitchens in Amsterdam, also in the whole of the Netherlands, among S'namers, N'landers and other fellow countrymen. The kitchen and service are perfect, 10 points.

You won't find worse Surinamese food in Amsterdam. Health inspectorate may visit here. Service also dramatic, everything is too much to ask, very rude and the food is of poor quality

I notice that quality has deteriorated considerably, and unfortunately they have changed the concept of the restaurant to take-away, so the old atmosphere is no longer there.

One of my favorite Suriname restaurants! The roasted or braised chicken is amazing. Also their specials such as bbq chicken. Sometimes slow but always on point.

Dit was een van mijn favoriete Surinaamse restaurants, echter moet ik nu helaas concluderen dat de kwaliteit en service ondermaats is voor de prijs die je er betaalt. Dat de mensen in de keuken geen haar netjes dragen viel mij ook op en dit vind ik niet hygiënisch. De dame achter de balie met een opzichte gouden ketting om vind ik sloom en onbeschoft en komt ook niet representatief over voor een zaak met “voorheen” een goede naam!

Vaak als wij naar Amsterdam gaan, halen wij meestal eten bij Ricardo's. Het eten is daar altijd goed! Je kan er afhalen maar ook je eten lekker daar op eten. Als je wat gaat bestellen en je wilt het mee nemen, zorg ervoor dat je het echt optijd besteld want het eten daar is zo uitverkocht. Zo voorkom je een grote teleurstelling. Wat vaak bij ons gebeurd...ja nog steeds. Dus als je Surinaams eten lekker vind ga langs Ricardo's en proef het zelf even.

Echt ongelooflijk idioot: omdat we van plan waren catering voor 32 personen te bestellen, 2 x 2 maaltijden besteld, bij de “chef kok” en aangegeven geen rund- en varkensvlees producten in maaltijden verwerken. Eerste bestelling toch rundvlees in de maaltijden. Bij 2e nadrukkelijk gezegd weer onze wens uitgesproken. Je kan ‘t raden: toch weer rundvlees erin. Vandaag klacht ingediend, zegt de medewerkster: maaltijden worden altijd met producten erin klaargemaakt. Als iemand zegt dat hij het niet wil, wordt het eruit gehaald. OMG hoe achterlijk kan je zijn. Nooit meer!!

Wat hebben jullie mij blij gemaakt gister middernacht. Bestelde 2 heerlijke maaltijden.. kipsate met heerlijke pinda saus.. nasi zeer goed op smaak. En bami met gestoofde kip was ook helemaal perfect op smaak. En dan de bezorging, was heel vriendelijk en supersnel! Ik ga vaker bestellen! Tot snel

Vandaag heb ik een saoto soep besteld. De Saoto was niet goed. Veelste veel kippenbouillon erin, de kleur van de bouillon was groenig. En het vet dreef er op. Het was niet lekker. Er zat wel peper bij maar de peper was niet pittig het leek gewoon op piccalilly. Niet zoals ik normaal van een Saoto soep gewend ben. Ik raad het zeker niet aan om saoto soep te bestellen. Het leek zeker niet op een Surinaamse Saoto soep. Erg jammer!!!

Dit is de derde keer dat ik daar kom. Wij bestelden pom, soato, maispap en masoes moksi alesi. Het eten blijft heerlijk vooral de maispap die erg warm is (voor de winter is het goed) en mij verrast. Ik raad aan om in het restaurant te eten want het is snel opgediend.

Erg lekker, exclusief, pindasoep, precies de smaak die je verwacht, klantvriendelijk en heel netjes! Ga erheen en proef zelf zeg ik dan! 👌🏽 Ook nog een reuze gezellige buurt!

Erg lekker eten en authentiek maar medewerkers achter de kassa/balie zijn altijd onvriendelijk. Echt jammer is dit. En je moet ook heel lang wachten op je eten ook al bestel je van te voren.

Ik blijf het maar roepen, geen zin om zelf te koken. Dan ben je aan het goede adres om heerlijk te eten of af te halen . Top locatie ik ben blij met hem in de Buurt

Lekker eten en het is makkelijk om te bestellen alleen is de helft van het menu al weg voordat het 4 uur 's middags is. Als je online hebt besteld en een tijd aan hebt gegeven moet je helaas alsnog wachten want meestal is je bestelling niet klaar. Toch zou ik het aanraden om het een keer te proberen omdat de smaak van het eten je het wachten laat vergeten.

Omdat we niet wilden koken maakten we, aangespoord door het artikel in de VK, de omweg naar Amsterdam om eten bij Ricardo’s te halen. We waren er rond half vier en een deel van de gerechten was helaas nog niet klaar. De menukeuze was daardoor beperkt. We kozen daarom voor Chinese tayersoep en de Heri Heri. Thuisgekomen maakten we de bakjes open. De gerechten roken heerlijk, maar wat was het weinig. Wat het nog erger maakte was dat het lekkerder rook dan dat het smaakte. De soep was waterig en niet goed gevuld en de bakkeljauw bij de Heri Heri was te zout. Al met al een grote teleurstelling.
