They didn't come by to take orders, so we had to go back and forth a few times ourselves. The table was dirty when we arrived, so I had to raise the issue. They threw a few dirty towels on the table, and we had to make do with those.

I had a wonderful meal here for my birthday! Really good meat—they understand that perfectly here. We did have to wait quite a while for the main course, but otherwise, 5 stars for the food and the cozy atmosphere.

I've eaten and had lunch there several times. I always enjoy it. After shopping at 3:00 PM, I craved a sandwich, but alas. They no longer serve lunch, only snacks and mainly fried items. Unfortunately, I left and went to the neighbors, where they were still serving plenty of lunch. Such a shame! Hence, no five stars.

Just had a delicious lunch. A salad with grilled vegetables and gluten-free bread. The bread was also very fresh. The salad had many surprising flavors: sweet, salty, and sour—really delicious. The service was also exceptionally friendly. Truly top-notch.

Superlekker geluncht bij Ritmeester! Alles was top: vriendelijk personeel, goede service en eten van uitstekende kwaliteit. We hebben hier ook al eens ’s avonds gegeten – ook toen was het echt een aanrader. Vooral het vlees uit de houtskooloven is geweldig lekker. Een fijne plek waar we zeker terugkomen!

Went to eat today. The bolknak was surprisingly tasty, in terms of combined flavors. Too bad that smoking is still allowed on the terrace.

The service in the restaurant is the most weak point in my feedback. Food and prices are good, reasonable and affordable. But the service I swear is the worst to compare all places I ever saw in my live. You will be waiting for waiter longer than you would be eating a dish. Afterwards possibly you will be ordering coffee and again waiting for it will be about 25 minutes for a damn cup of coffee. It wasn’t busy time, around dinner time and the food hall is completely dirty, pieces of food lying around, sofas are in crumbs from previous visitors, disgusting… So overall I am disappointed in the restaurant meanwhile the food was really tasty. So all together makes me feel that I wouldn’t be coming back and advise to someone else…

Great location with grandchildren. Grass field and sand with play equipment is located next to it. Good overview. Nice service and very atmospheric. I just don't like the spareribs a bit. Looked like it came from the microwave.

Nice terrace with friendly and prompt service. The pulled chicken and carpacchio tasted delicious, but the sandwich underneath was toasted a little too long and tasted a bit burnt. Next time I would like to have fresh bread under the topping.

Nice lunch, nice place. Being able to sit outside in the sun. Nice terrace, nice place opposite the 'play beach'. Even if you don't have children with you. You always have a pleasant atmosphere around you here and the playground doesn't really cause much inconvenience, at least I haven't experienced it here and we are already quite 'old age' so to speak and no longer have young children at home. We had the club sandwich and it was very tasty, although difficult to eat because of its thickness. Staff is friendly, but probably not always present due to a shortage of staff.

The atmosphere in the restaurant is great and the service is very friendly. It can quickly feel busy, because you sit quite close together in this restaurant. Personally, I think it's very dark inside, but hey, it seems to be a trend to barely be able to see what you're eating. The food is tasty and beautifully served. However, I don't think the price/quality ratio is good. It is very pricey for what you get.

We had a delicious meal here, they also take allergies into account very well. In our case gluten allergy and lactose intolerance. We also had many dishes from the menu. The staff is friendly and it is very cozy. Definitely worth repeating!

Had tea with apple pie. My girlfriend had apple pie with a dollop of whipped cream, after 5 minutes it was liquid!! The apple pie is a mockery, the supermarket is jumbo and Lidl has better variants. No butter is used in this sticky soft mass. Invest in good apple pie, Ritmeester!

I had a great experience with my namesake, Ritmeester! 🎉 The atmosphere is really great: warm, cozy and exactly what you expect from a good BBQ restaurant. 🔥 The service was also fantastic, super friendly and very attentive. 😊 I had the hamburger, and it was cooked perfectly to the requested doneness. 👌 The taste was good, although I personally would have liked a little more grill flavor for that real BBQ experience. 🍔 But otherwise nothing to complain about, because the quality of the meat was excellent. In short, highly recommended for anyone who likes good food and a nice atmosphere! 💯

Armed with a lunch voucher, we reported to the “counter”. Warm welcome. You can see that the ladies are looking forward to spoiling us. Our menu was: a delicious “Laksa” in advance, a tasty soup with small crayfish, spring onions and cream. Then, for my table lady, a Spicy chicken, on freshly baked dark bread, finished with Parmesan. I was treated to a “12 hour fish” myself. Delicious, a well-poached egg on home-smoked salmon, a tasty shrimp croquette on the same tasty dark bread. We had a 'heavy' lunch (most Dutch people eat sandwiches for lunch) and it was nice. It tasted great and the atmosphere was lovely. The portionsize was a bit confusing to me though. I ordered the chickenthighs with french fries and my friend ordered steak, but we had to share one tiny bowl of fries. It didn't make any sense to me. I got three huge slices of chickenthighs which is way too much for lunch, and we had to order another bowl of fries. The bowl of fries that we ordered was bigger than the one we got first. If we had that one to share it would've made sense. It took them a long time to bring the fries, our meat was almost cold when the fries arrived. My son had the poffertjes and he enjoyed them.

Had dinner here with friends last night! We enjoyed it so much! From the starter to the dessert! Simply great! What made it even more fun was Els... a great hostess who appreciated a joke and even came to say hello when her shift was over! Big compliment!!! Atmosphere and location certainly made this a pleasant evening! We recommend it in every area!

We ate here on a Saturday around 5pm. It was quite busy and perhaps that is why it took a very long time before people came to take the order and before the food was served. We ordered a tournedos and it was excellent, the accompaniments on the other hand (fries and vegetables) were really very minimal.

Delicious food but above all the staff was really attentive, friendly and had an eye for detail! Really congratulations!!!

Cozy restaurant. Nice service. Carpaccio and tomato soup were delicious. When ordering our main course, we heard that the agnus burger had run out of lunch... we thought that was a shame. So we opted for the ribeye medium fried. Unfortunately, one of them was really too red and certainly not medium fried. When we indicated this, the waiter asked if we can make something else for you. We decided to immediately order dessert, and we still wanted tea. Unfortunately the tea was not delivered, the dessert was delicious, the dessert was removed from the bill and we got it for free because the ribeye was not cooked medium. In short, an okay experience, but it could be better.

Located in the city center of Veenendaal, this restaurant is one i recommended in the city. It is cosy, and the food is good. It has a warm and inviting atmosphere. The restaurant has made an effort to integrate the area's history into its ambience, particularly focusing on the cigarette processing heritage, which adds an intriguing historical perspective to the dining experience. The staff appeared quite busy and somewhat distant, and I felt they were rushing diners to leave as soon as you could . While this is understandable to some extent, I hope they can find a balance that allows people to enjoy their meals without feeling rushed. I had the Tournedos, and it was absolutely fantastic!
