Wow.. stunning place. Looked amazing on arrival. Staff super friendly and attentive. Now the food!! Where to start .. this place is not cheap, however the flavours and quality is unreal . We had the tuna, ribs which were a show stopper and mushrooms. All incredible. Looking around other meals looked as incredible. Would 100% and return. Thank you.

One of the best meals we've had during our short stay in Amsterdam. Service was fantastic. We had the Tacos to start followed by some small seafood plates which were all delicious.

Beautiful, new interior, yet still with the same atmosphere as before. The staff, from the door to the coat check, are all friendly, attentive, and professional. The food is as expected; absolutely delicious. Delicious classic oysters, and the wagyu and rendang croquettes are paltry.

I took my Italian girlfriend here and we had a lovely time, the food is made with such care, the waiters and staff are incredible & kind, making you feel at ease.

A fantastic experience from start to finish! Everything was truly top-notch. The food was delicious—carefully prepared, rich in flavor, and beautifully presented. The service was professional and attentive. We were delighted with the extensive non-alcoholic drinks menu. It's great to see that they really pay attention to this. In addition, their knowledge of food allergies deserves a huge compliment. The staff know exactly what's possible and permitted, and certain dishes were easily adapted to make them completely gluten-free. It inspires enormous confidence when a restaurant handles allergies so carefully. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with pleasant music playing in the background. In short: from the ambiance to the service to the taste—everything was perfect. Absolutely recommended, and we will definitely be back!

Massive disappointment. Not Michelin Star territory by a country mile. Incoherent menu. Gimmick trolley offer where a server tries to sell you extra courses ad hoc. Very naff. Food quite decent but short of the attention to detail and flavour combinations I was hoping for. The Emperor has no clothes.

Great food. Everything is perfect. But this is my second time here with my partner. And again, a seat at the bar? So, next to each other instead of across from each other. I don't think that's okay.

A relaxed atmosphere (there's even room for the dog at the table 😳) in a no-nonsense, alluring restaurant. The rendang croquettes with a delicious dip, the brioche with butter, the tuna, and especially the duck liver—in various forms—are a delight. I wouldn't choose the chips with trout dip (too salty), the cauliflower with truffle (those two strong flavors don't mix, and the dish is way too expensive), and the Maury with cheese (give me a glass of tawny; much more character). The ribeye and Betty's cheeses (how could they be otherwise) were a real hit, as were the wines. The service is friendly, but not very knowledgeable about the wines, and sometimes the entrée trolley arrives at just the wrong moment (just as all sorts of ordered delicacies are being brought to the table). In short, it's culinary delights with a touch of flair.

Absolutely fantastic food! What an experience. Indonesian cuisine with a modern twist. Ron Blauw's concept doesn't disappoint. And not only is the food spot on, the service is also top-notch. Definitely recommended for both lunch and dinner. A seat at the bar offers a literal view into the kitchen, making the experience dynamic and interactive. Simply fantastic!

Delicious food, clever flavors, and beautiful combinations. It's also very convenient commercially to offer snacks in between. We didn't know beforehand that we'd be seated "high up," which I thought was a shame (not great for my back). The service was very quick and therefore a bit impersonal; this seemed to be more attentive to regulars. I wouldn't eat there again anytime soon, despite the high quality of the dishes; we felt a genuine sense of hospitality was lacking.

The food was amazing, as always! The service was fantastic, and Jasper's wine recommendation made it perfect. This is truly our favorite restaurant—not our first time, and certainly not our last! We highly recommend it to anyone looking for a wonderful night out with top-notch food, hospitality, and a lovely atmosphere. 🍷✨

Had lunch today, unfortunately a bitter disappointment. The food was completely tasteless, dry, and unchewable. Dry snacks dressed up with a bit of mayonnaise, and all for a hefty price…🤢 Apparently good enough for Amsterdam Oud Zuid, because I saw plenty of satisfied customers (as long as it's poche, of course), but I definitely wouldn't go back! And it wasn't the service's fault; it was excellent!

We had reserved a table for 5:45 pm, and the dining room was completely empty. However, we were seated by Amber in the least favorable spot, right by the entrance on high stools. After explaining that one of us had food poisoning and would not be comfortable sitting on bar stools, we were reluctantly moved to a regular chair. When our time was up (two hours later), we were asked to move to the bar, even though there were still plenty of free tables and no new guests had arrived. As I understand it, among the entirely white clientele of the restaurant, we were the only non-white guests, and it felt like they were trying to push us aside the whole time. Food was good, waiters were helpful, but these moments left a negative aftertaste from the dinner. Very unfortunate.

We were very enthusiastic after our first visit last November. This time, food and drinks were still very good, but the rest... Firstly, the hostess was not be seen for 10 minutes while a long line formed behind us. Then, she wanted to seat us at the bar counter on stools, although we had a reservation and other tables were available. We eventually got a decent table enduring blazing disco music (another guests complained about that, but to no avail). It took a long time for the waitress to show up and take our drinks order and another long wait to place our food order. When the restaurant emptied after 21:30 h, things got better service wise, but until that point the experience was just unacceptable. Sorry, won't return.

I am not one who cares too much about service usually but this one is unfortunately worth a review… The food is good - not the best Michelin restaurant I’ve been to but I can’t say I didn’t eat well! The service… We didn’t get bread and butter served as every other table - took us asking when the bread tray passed near us for the 10th time without stopping and after tables that sat down long after us were already served. We ordered 2 specials which we got told would take 35/40 minutes and we were ok with that as we had a couple of snacks and drinks so no rush. Then we started seeing other larger tables getting served those specials so we were ready to be next. Until 2/3 other tables that sat down at least 30/40 minutes after us got served as well. 1.5 hours later (ordered around 7.45pm got food at 9.20pm) we got our food served. Unacceptable and not even an apology for the delay. Then cherry on the cake we saw everyone getting served a bite size soft serve ice cream cone with their bill which we thought would be a great sweet treat to end the evening. Only to find out that ours must have got lost on the way from the kitchen… It is not a 1 star review simply because the food was good. Shocking service

I wanted to share this post with #rogastrobar, a famous dessert that has received two #mitchelinstars. The #supriseegg surprise egg, signed by @rongastrobar's Michelin-starred chef #ronblaauw, consists of chocolate ganache, crispy caramel, and passion fruit, served with crunchy caramel popcorn. The fruit, chocolate, and crunch are well-balanced. The restaurant's decor and approach are far from your typical Michelin-starred restaurant. Faster service and more reasonable prices. A place where you can experience #casualdining and culinary experiences crafted by a Michelin-starred chef. While the dessert was good, I experienced some shortcomings in the main courses and service errors from the inexperienced staff. Taste: 3.8 Quality/Price: 4.3/5

Excellent gastropub with American and Japanese beef. The best seller is pork ribs. The customers - during lunch - are people in expensive suits from offices. They don't bring it fast.

I visited this place a few years ago. I can say that it is by far the best tomahawk I have ever eaten in my life.

What a disappointment!!!! We booked for four people for the summer deals, a delicious three-course dinner for €95 for two, including a bottle of rosé. It was a nice experience. For this price, we didn't expect the full experience, but we certainly did expect the feeling, atmosphere, and taste we expect from this Michelin-starred restaurant. It started with the reservation. The price is per couple, so for more people, we had to book by phone. First, we chose a date and then called, and then, as is unfortunately the case in the future, we got a terrible robot on the phone. Anyway, the reservation was made. No further confirmation or anything. Doubts were already creeping in. Would this have gone well? So foolish to trust this, we left for Amsterdam. Welcome, we're glad you're coming to dine with us. You're welcome to take a seat (outside? Terrace? Poor table setting? Dirty cutlery? Plastic tables? Broken chairs? Ultimately, blunt knives? And lots of flies?) Mmm, not exactly Michelin-star-worthy. Unfortunately, inside wasn't available, only for special occasions. Hmm, strange, isn't it? Then our host arrived, bringing a card with appetizers for us to choose from. Then a cart with appetizers came by, asking if we'd like any. We'd booked a three-course menu, but we didn't quite understand. We wanted a wine pairing with our menu. We were given strange looks and explained that this wasn't the right night for such a package. More questions? Finally, we asked how and what, and it turned out our summer deal wasn't available that day and couldn't have been booked. Today is a try-out. You see, with such a stupid robot. The manager arrived, what an indecent woman, completely lacking in compassion, very curt, and completely unrepresentative. Meanwhile, after half an hour, we still hadn't received a drink. We asked for time to think about it. Half of us wanted to leave. The other half were wondering, "Where are we going to find a table at 7:00 PM?" With a heavy feeling in our stomachs, we stayed and asked for an explanation about the tryout. A very nice lady at the table was happy to explain everything and, if she didn't know something, she would look into it. We never heard from the manager again—not even a chat, apology, or a drink. She wasn't a representative, empathetic person at all. That's just not how you want your Michelin-starred restaurant to be run. The tryout was a flop for us. You don't go around to the tables with a cart of food to sell appetizers. It felt like I was on an airplane. Later, they came by with trays and appetizers. "Sorry, that sounds cheap, but the prices don't lie." For example, 14 euros for a mini hamburger that you eat in one bite and doesn't even have the flavor you'd think, "Wow, that's special!" Sorry, this isn't Michelin-worthy, and asking that paltry amount for it. Besides all the appetizers that were served, you could also order from the menu. Well, I suppose this is really good, but I don't understand this either. Except for a single dish, and a lot of money for something I can get even better at the snack bar around the corner. They also asked if it would be a problem if the dishes weren't served simultaneously because some would take longer to prepare... well, duh, what do you think? With the main course, a really tasty piece of meat (no comment needed). I wanted red wine. It was poured from the bottle at the table, and to my great surprise, 11 fruit flies were floating around. They certainly didn't fly in and had already happily gorged themselves on the bottle. All in all, What a disappointment! We definitely won't be back and certainly won't recommend this restaurant to our friends and family. Our dinner hostess was the only positive thing about the evening. It's a shame the evening had to end this way.

I had booked lunch for two people through Social Deal on Thursday, August 7th. The reception, seating, and table changes went smoothly. The menu was explained, and it was served as if the amuse-bouche (one oyster €15) was included, but I certainly forgave that because the combination with caviar and the sauce was delicious. The wine was poured promptly. After the amuse-bouche, the appetizer arrived. My appetizer was served in a small bowl without a coaster, just like both of our main courses. How does a demi-chef or chef de rang do that without placing their thumb in the bowl? Not so. Fortunately, their thumb was clean. The waiter quickly left after serving without asking if we wanted more wine, even though our glasses were empty. Looking, attracting attention, and waving succeeded. A second glass of wine. In a bistro, that's not so important, but in a Michelin-starred restaurant, it is. Naturally, I shared my comments with the maître d', who asked if everything was alright. He looked angry and replied with something along the lines of "I'll do something about it." A nice lunch in pleasant surroundings, but unfortunately, not a star.

A varied and very original selection, with unexpected and tempting combinations. All the dishes we tried were very good. Special mention goes to the artichoke and the scallops, which were particularly delicious. A wonderful time!

Which makes it perfect for anyone who wants a high-quality Michelin-starred meal without the pressure of an overly upscale environment. Highly recommend—we’ll definitely be back!

Ron Gastrobar was a truly interesting experience. For a Michelin-starred restaurant, it perfectly combines hospitality, taste, and 'fair' prices. For two and a half hours, we felt a little taste of perfection. The staff was very kind, paying attention to every detail from the moment we entered until we left, ensuring everything was elegant, discreet, and well-organized. We also had the chance to try some unique cocktails, with some out-of-the-box combinations, but very well-balanced. I warmly recommend Ron Gastrobar for any special occasion. It truly made our holiday extra special! :)

The most casual Michelin-star restaurant I’ve been to and it was a refreshing change from the usual. Approachable fine dining that was delicious and served with thoughtfulness. The four-course tasting menu was well balanced and satisfying. Service with personality. Highly recommend.

Well regarded by locals and traveling epicures Chef Ron Blaauw is quietly building an empire, his decision to shutter a popular Michelin 2* concept in 2013 yielding a handful of new concepts including his 1* Ron Gastrobar in Willemspark. French-y enough that guests will see his pedigree, but highly original yet familiar, lunch or dinner at Ron Gastrobar begins with small “Snacks” including a chef’d-up “Bloomin’ Onion” and signature Beef Rendang Croquettes plus piping hot rolls with Butter bulked up by Pig Skin. Trendy enough for the #gram thanks to floral orbs and organic flourishes, the kitchen wholly visible through glass, small plates shine whether one selects mixed Mushrooms with Japanese Citrus or “Beef Sausage” hidden as Tartare between layers of Foie Gras Terrine. Not quite hungry enough for a whole Beef Wellington, particularly with so many other tempting choices, no table should miss Blaauw’s signature Ribs served with a smoke show and sticky Sauce or the seasonal Sundae currently featuring farm-fresh Ice Cream and housemade Caramel in three styles.

They serve great food and have a nice relaxed atmosphere. Staff are friendly.

Recently ate at the branch on Sophialaan, honestly found it rather disappointing. The sea bass was very tasty, but the price they charge for it is exaggerated. The wagyu was reasonable, have eaten better, the salad was good, nothing special otherwise. The fries were tasty and seasoned separately, but there were a lot of small broken pieces in between that I would not serve in a Michelin restaurant. At a star restaurant you expect a little bit extra and I didn't find that little bit extra in the total experience. The fact that you sit very close together and it is very noisy and then look out onto the scullery didn't really help the ambiance.

We were looking forward to a nice evening, but the experience left us with mixed feelings. The food was nicely presented and well-prepared, but overall it didn’t quite live up to the standard we’ve come to expect from other one-star Michelin restaurants. Service was very slow — it took over half an hour just to receive the menu, and the pace remained sluggish throughout the evening. At the end, we even had to retrieve our own coats from the cloakroom, which had been staffed on arrival. The wine list didn’t mention vintages, even though the pricing suggested decent quality years — this led to a far too young Cabernet Sauvignon that lacked balance. Small things, but together they impacted the overall experience and are not up to par of a Michelin star restaurant. Hopefully we caught them on an off night.

What a wonderful experience! The snacks were all refined and tasty: real flavor bombs, beautifully presented. The restaurant is spacious and attractively decorated, with a beautiful outdoor area as a real asset. The terrace offers both sunny spots and pleasant shade thanks to the parasols, and at cooler times the patio heaters provide extra comfort. The service was friendly, attentive and professional. A place you will return to with pleasure!

The food was nice. Delicate, well presented and well prepared. I had 2 problems with my experience at Ron: 1- the restaurant has very little light which makes it difficult to see each other, the menu and the food. 2- we time to wait from one dish to the other was far too long (to complete our 4 course trial meal took us more than 3 hours). Staying that long became boring and stressful. We even told so to the waiter to pass it over to the chef. We were offered ice-cream cone for this suggestion.

Always a party. Super friendly & attentive staff. You will be completely pampered. It's cozy inside, but the terrace with all the colored flowers and lovely sofas is a favorite. The food is great. Small dishes, beautifully presented on different plates. All equally tasty. Surprise dessert for my birthday, and a mini ice cream to end it.

Inconsistent service and food. Some dishes were bland and mediocre, some were delicious and lived up to the Michelin star rating. Nice clubby vibe in the restaurant. Portion sizes were mostly tiny, we had a second dinner afterwards.

We arrived four men We stood in line at the entrance, it took a long time. From the moment we sat down, we waited a long time for the waitress to come to us. Felt she didn't know the job, anything we had to ask for. On her recommendation, we ordered a 4-course meal to be chosen by the chef, we asked if the dishes would satisfy us and we were told that they would. The dishes arrived one hour apart, we were unable to receive service from the waitress or even make eye contact, we felt she was being ignored. The meal was over and we were left hungry... after two and a half hours! They charge for the service of pouring water, but in practice the waitress never comes and you pour yourself... the wine too 0 service 0 quantity Really sucks, we wanted a Michelin experience, we got a terrible experience for 100 euros per person

It's always a party at Ron Gastrobar. Whether it is during the Café Nol evening, a romantic dinner or like last Saturday evening. Then we had a delicious meal from the small menu with a bottle of wine and a cocktail. The dishes look fantastic and the flavors are delicious. The staff is super friendly and hospitable, in short, the guarantee for a wonderful evening. The decor, the atmosphere, the music, everything is perfect. We will be back soon.

Really had two very tasty and flavoursome meals. Good atmosphere. Nice service. The tartare was unbelievably good. Meat with bone marrow also of a very high standard. Photos say it all I think. Really had a very pleasant lunch and dinner.

Delicious dining in a “no-nonsense” setting.

Nice sitting and good bfst. The only problem is they cannot sync the coffee with the food. But other than that it’s recommended.

We were seated at a very edge table, end of the space, although there were way more free tables in the room. The food is not bad, but prices are irrationally higher than quality. We ordered ‘the whole seabass’ which was expected to be whole, but turned out a miniscule tiny one panfried with nothin special around, costing 65 eu. The chief maitre-d-hotel taking orders was a bit imposing and too pushy with services and orders. The ambience of the place is good, pretending for fine dining.

One of the best restaurants I have ever eaten at. Me and my girlfriend had dinner here before Christmas and it was amazing. The service was super nice and attentive, attentive but not too present. During dinner we even had the opportunity to have a Polaroid photo taken of us. The food came at a leisurely pace but quickly enough that we never had to wait too long for our food. Coincidentally, Christmas this year coincided with a (rather irrelevant) anniversary and the staff had kindly put a card on the table to congratulate us, we even got a festive dessert. The total experience was great and we enjoyed it very much! Definitely recommended.
