Royalvis is the best fish restaurant in Amsterdam. We come here every year from Bavaria, 900km away, and always look forward to a delicious fish platter.

If a restaurant is busy, the food is really good; I think I'll go there more often.

I have eaten here regularly over the years, but unfortunately, the last few times were very disappointing. The employee was not very friendly while ordering and reacted irritably to questions. After the meal, I got a stomach ache and diarrhea, and I am now on the toilet😩 I had ordered 25 euros worth of takeaway. Monkfish, calamari, small octopuses, a large octopus, and sardines. When I got home, it seemed as if I hadn't received part of my order. Anyway, I ate anyway because I was hungry.... The fish was very lukewarm, the presentation was poor, and I have the feeling that the calamari wasn't cooked through properly, which might explain the diarrhea. I do always find the big man with the dark hair who was behind the grill today very friendly, but I won't be eating there again.

I ate fish yesterday. The taste was mediocre, and a few hours later I had diarrhea all day. Not a second time for me.

We ate there twice during our week in Amsterdam and were delighted. The prices are good and the custom-made platter was excellent both times. The food was delicious and the staff were very friendly.

Unfortunately, it's not as good as it used to be. The service was disappointing: the food was served before the bread and drinks even arrived at the table. The fish didn't seem fresh enough for the price, and the salmon was overgrilled, making it dry. The bread was also disappointing—we were charged €2 for it, even though it's usually served free, and some of the baguette pieces were hard and dry. On top of that, every small side dish cost an extra €2. Overall, it was poor value for money and a disappointing experience.

FANTASTIC!!! In the south, we are not used to being able to get fish so late in the evening. Plenty of choice, fresh fish, and good service.

Well, the food wasn't that great, the poor fish were completely overfried, the salad was just thrown in haphazardly, and the fries were from McDonald's. I guess I fell for the good reviews...

Old fish. I have known Royal Med for years and they used to be doing a good and tasty job with their fish, but now they are very focused on profit and no longer think about their fish or customers. The fish is old, not tasty, and their fish soup tastes like watery tomato soup. I am very disappointed here. I paid €50 for a dish and didn't enjoy the meal.

I have never had such bad kibbeling and fried mussels. I was glad the portions were (ultra) small because it was inedible. 🙈

Royalvis & Traiteur was an excellent surprise — fresh seafood, high quality products, and very friendly service. Everything tasted great and felt authentic. Highly recommended if you enjoy good fish and local specialties.

A lovely spot away from the tourists, with lots of locals and truly fresh food. Much cheaper than places in the city center. You absolutely MUST try the fish soup. You choose what you want to eat at the fishmonger's and they'll make it for you.

It looked like a really authentic place, frequented by locals, we seemed out of place as tourists, which was great as I wanted to try "kibbeling", basically fish and chips. I had to order at the front and then they brought the food to the table when it was ready. It was fresh and delicious, the fish could've been more crispy but I loved this experience all together.

Amazing and fresh seafood! Really good value for money and would definitely visit again. Picture 1 only costs 23€ and the fish soup tastes great as a starter.

Besides having to wait an hour for a portion of fried cod, I was constantly treated very rudely by the staff. What made the experience complete was that people who arrived later got their food earlier. When I mentioned this during the checkout, I was told, "That's not possible, sir, you must have misread it." A friend recommended your restaurant, which is why I came, but unfortunately, it was a huge disappointment.

Soup was delicious and the mixed table was perfect. Prices are pretty low. So this is a very good place to explore in Amsterdam.

Worth the trip Noord. Choose your fresh affordable seafood from the market and they cook it for you right there. This is a no frills local gem. The grilled vishmix & scallops were excellent with their garlic butter sauce. The crust on the grilled salmon was fabulous. The fried calamari was thick but light like a pillow. The salad cut through to provide balance to the rich flavor of the seafood. No gimmicks. The freshness and flavor of the food shine here - who cares about the decorations? If you’re visiting - enjoy the views on the way there by taking the ferry from Amsterdam Centraal, but plan to take the metro back because you’ll be so full of amazing food! Go for lunch if you don’t want to wait for a table - enjoy!

Unfriendly service. I just came in for a quick pickup and was rudely dismissed because my small, leashed dog wasn't allowed inside, not even at the pickup point. No understanding, no customer service. Reading the other reviews, this seems to be common. I won't be back.

I don't understand these reviews; I went there based on them. The gentleman is very grumpy, and a smile is too much to ask on this beautiful Friday. The chicken sandwich was poorly filled; if I'm paying €11, I want a full chicken sandwich. Not recommended.

The couscous and chicken fillet sandwich were a 10/10. You could really taste the freshness! The waiter was also very nice. Definitely worth repeating.

There are few restaurants in Amsterdam where you can eat so well for so little!

We had a delicious meal, only a bit of a shame that there was only salad with the dish. Normally you get 2x salmon, salad and rice or fries, but now it was a bit poor. If anything changes on the menu, please let us know so you can order something extra.

Poor listener, rude and rude. Does not listen to what the customer orders. Speaks and understands Dutch poorly. As the owner, he should be ashamed that he does not bother to ask carefully what has been ordered. If necessary, repeat what someone ordered if you do not hear or understand it. Bad service this time even though I order food here more often. Good and delicious food by the way. It would be a shame if the owner lost customers due to unfriendly behavior. Patience and kindness are very important qualities.

Als je lekkere grill/gerechten en of broodjes wilt eten zou ik zeker bij Royal Med bestellen of een van hun maaltijden proberen.. bij bezorging word nooit iets vergeten altijd zelfde lekkere smaak van eten zelfs tot de olijf in de salade word nooit vergeten.. ga zo door 👍

ik heb zojuist laten bestellen via Thuisbezorgd,en joh wat hebben wij toch genoten van een heerlijke couscous let kip en groenten,smak was perfect, idem dito het temperatuur van get gerecht! herhaling vatbaar 👍

For 27 year I have being coming here, every time I am Amsterdam. The best sea food food ever here. Fresh cooked at Anyway u like, it's a market combine with restaurant. The fish soup and my satee mix seafood are one of my favorite. Wish you all could experiencia this wonderful food. Very affordable..

Het eten hier is uitstekend. Als Je van lekker eten houd dan moet je echt hier wezen. Prijs kwaliteit is super goed. De service is oke je krijgt waar je om vraagt. Je moet hier niet zijn voor de sfeer!! Je betaald hier voor goed eten . Wil je sfeer en bagger voedsel dan ga je naar club harbour of zo want daar betaal je voor het gezien worden. Ik houd van deze tent eet ook alleen hier als ik in Amsterdam ben.

Alles heel warm aangekomen, lekker patat en saus. Verse groentes. We houden niet zoveel van vis maar toch van genoten. Het is je geld waard.

Dado el consejo de un compañero foodie probé este restaurante de pescado. En una zona bastante abatida en el norte de Amsterdam se encuentra esta tienda de pescado donde puede elegir entre una variedad de platos de pescado o puede seleccionar su propia fuente de mariscos del pescado fresco en el mostrador. Yo recomendaría lo último. Elija los mariscos que desee y pesarán y usted pagará en consecuencia. Luego lo asarán en la parte de atrás en un agradable y sabroso marinado mediterráneo / marroquí y lo servirán maravillosamente en un plato. Usted obtiene sus propias latas de bebidas y salsas de los refrigeradores. El pescado está bien preparado y tiene un sabor fresco y lo mejor de todo es el precio, difícil de encontrar pescado en cualquier lugar por un precio más bajo, y mucho menos saboreando esto bien. También recomiendo su sopa de pescado. He estado allí dos veces, así que parece coherente. En general, definitivamente lo recomendaría!

Lekkerste vis restaurant in Amsterdam! Hou je van vis, dan moet je hier zeker een keer zijn geweest.

Royal Med is een super leuk vistent in Noord. Het vis wordt uitgestald en je kunt je eigen schaal samenstellen. De vissoep is een begrip en maar 2 euro! Het eten is er goed en de prijzen zijn zeer voordelig. Het publiek is er divers: van grachtengordel tot toeristen en oorspronkelijke Noorderlingen. Echt een aanrader!
