Royal Plaza in Wijk 14 Bekspring

1x en nooit meer. Waren in de buurt op 19 juli 2025. En dachten daar gaan we een hapje eten. Ik schrijf dit op het toilet, want vanaf thuiskomst zit ik hier al op. Eten stond lang onder de warmtelamp. Strontvliegen vlogen rond de sushi en in de rest van het restaurant. Ijsschep ligt in bakje brak water wat niet gespoeld wordt.

Bij aankomst om 18:30 langs het buffet gelopen en overal (bijna) lege bakken . Na een uur maar eens gevraagd of ze wilden bijvullen , dit deden ze met pijn en moeite . Minimaal aan vlees soorten . Geur en kleur van het vlees was ook niet oké. Keuken open tot 21:30 uur en ondanks dat er nog klanten in de zaak zaten om 20:15uur ging alles uit en werd alles opgeruimd en schoongemaakt . Als je verse jus wilde was dat lastig want die was al uit en waren ze aan het schoonmaken. Verde was de indeling van de bufetten volkomen onlogisch . 1 kok die aan het wokken was . Personeel was niet echt vrolijk en positief. We zijn al in veel zaken geweest en overal is wel wat maar hier is het wel een opeenstapeling van . Wij komen er nooit meer en zullen het ook zeker niet aanraden . Zogoed als het vroeger was is het bij lange na niet en zal het waarschijnlijk nooit meer worden . Meubilair is ook allemaal oud , eetzaal is zo lijkt op eerste gezicht oké. Al met al een echte No Go voor mij.

Ondanks alle negatieve recensies hebben we hier heerlijk gegeten, wij herkennen niets van al het onderstaande. We werden vriendelijk ontvangen en naar onze tafel geleid, na een korte uitleg zijn we gaan eten, we heb geen koud eten gehad en er waren geen lege bakken, alles wordt op tijd aangevuld. Zeer vriendelijk personeel, we hebben er 2 uur genoten van al het lekkers.

It was fun at Royal Plaza, as always. And it was busy, on an ordinary Thursday. The food was tasty, hot and there was plenty of it. I come there often and I wonder why there is so much negativity.

After being a guest here 4 years ago and having a good experience, we ate at Royal Plaza again tonight. I have read all the negative reviews from the last year and have to conclude that they are somewhat exaggerated. Where can you still eat your fill during this time, drink more than enough and go home satiated for €59 for 2 people? The price-quality ratio is therefore well balanced. If we are ever in the area again we will definitely come back.

I was there for the first time yesterday and I have never eaten like this before and almost all the containers were empty and that calls itself a world buffet. Fruit was dried out in the containers. Fish was rotten in the container and the salad had been in the container for days, I think, which was dirty, watery and sour. Meat was hardly there and what was there was dirty and the buffet container of meat was empty. It is really scandalous that you call something like that a restaurant and dare to ask for money. I immediately got a stomach cramp at home. I have never eaten something so dirty and worthless and I think that the food department but you should take a look there, the NVWA really can't do this and you pay 60 euros for empty containers and food that is no longer good, you just have to ask if the container is empty then you get spare ribs that taste like frozen and are greasy. I advise everyone not to go there, it's better to bake something at home yourself because you will get sick there, we were gone within an hour, a dirty mess there.

Gisteren geweest 60 euro betaald en binnen een uur weer weg. verschillende lege bakken en als je daar nog wat van wilde eten moest je maar even vragen dan zouden ze wel iets bij maken en dat noemt zich een wereld restaurant. spare ribs allemaal vet en diepvriessmaak. slaatje waterig en weinig keus. waarschijnlijk wat er nog in de bakken lag lag er al uren in. verweg slechtste restaurant waar we geweest zijn. dat was eenmalig en de helft vd prijs was nog teveel

After reading a lot of bad reviews, I was scared to death, to be honest. We were a group of 14 on Saturday at 5 p.m. for a bachelor's day. The restaurant was 3/4 full during “our” time. It is not very big and therefore pleasantly busy. The staff was friendly. Sufficient choice of food as with most of these types of restaurants. Drinks included and plenty of choice. I had sushi, a round of fish, a round of wok and a dessert and I ate well. I don't recognize other comments in there. I understood from others in our party that the fried foods were limp and tough. It also remains difficult to keep fresh and crispy in a warming container! The restaurant is not in my top 3, but considering the price and what you get for it: really more than adequate.

We haven't been there for a while, with some jokes about the social deal that was no longer available, we had a nice meal, it was a shame that the baking tray was gone as stated in several reviews. the Wok was there! think only in the evening. good food and friendly staff. and oh yes, my daughter is really 8 years old, she is a bit big for her age! We will be back at the end of this month to celebrate her 9th birthday and will bring an ID card 😀

Bought 3 discount coupons via social deal. We were looking forward to sushi, but unfortunately very meager, discolored and was not refilled the entire evening. The rest of it was also very meager, cold and tough. Even the dessert department was not tempting, with the donuts you could bash each other's brains in. In total there were 4 tables full in the entire restaurant. So if you want to go to a nice all you can eat place, don't go here.

Time for an upgrade! Restaurant has little atmosphere. Could be more modern and food more extensive. Very tasty sushi.

We had a delicious meal. The restaurant offers a lot of variety, with a pleasant atmosphere for every age category and very nice and friendly employees. This price-quality ratio cannot be found anywhere else in the Netherlands!! Really great.

Royal Plaza, it is another good restaurant in Oldenzaal, close to many road intersections such as de Rutte and Denekamp staat. There is convenient parking. There are lots of delicious food and drinks to choose from. Good service, very considerate.

What a disappointment. Always had fun as a couple, as the family grew this was still delicious. But today was downright bad. Never knew they stopped using the grill and wok. In other words, bake everything from warm. Where you could enjoy something small-scale and local (as far as that is possible with this concept) to now paying a lot for a lukewarm steak and cold rice?! Won't be long.

Terwijl ik deze recensie schrijf zit ik nog te "ETEN " in het restaurant... wat gebeurd hier op het moment?? Kom hier afgelopen 10 jaar gemiddeld 5 keer per jaar. Laatste twee keer zeer slecht bevallen... al het eten was koud danwel lauw.. personeel loopt met ziel onder de arm elkaar het werk uit handen te nemen... maar vier tafels gevuld en dat is verdomd weinig gezien de capaciteit van het restaurant.... dit was mijn laatste keer hier!! Jammer!!

Lukewarm food, undercooked chicken satay and containers that are not replenished. Downright bad. Scandalous. Beer was cold, only the glasses were warm. When the tap was empty, we were looked at angrily. Mein Gott muss dass sein! Finally, the dessert, which was also cold, so cold that it had turned into solid ice. Paid a lot of money and still went home with an empty stomach, due to several factors. Don't go there to eat on site, take away but good experiences.

Chinese Indian rice table collected on Boxing Day. What a disappointment! We've never had it this bad before. Meat in the Indian dishes was 90% fat. Fried banana and shrimp not crispy, mealy crust, together in a bowl, seemed to come from the cafeteria. The satay was placed diagonally in a container so the skewers left the lid open, soggy sauce and dry chicken meat. Most of it ended up in the trash.

Had a nice meal with a group of 13 people

When we entered it smelled really bad, luckily as we walked in the smell went away. When I wanted to pour a glass of wine, it was infested with fruit flies. My niece wanted a glass of orange juice but unfortunately this was not possible without flying. Furthermore, they did not have much choice of food and everything was lukewarm/cold that should have been warm. So we will never go here again.

This was just a shame. The takeaway is particularly good. The restaurant, especially for what we paid, is downright sad. I have rarely had a bad meal at a Chinese restaurant. This was bad. The simplest Chinese Indian dishes and some choice in sushi. The nasi goreng was rice with egg. And everything was lukewarm and felt like a canteen. Clearly it has seen better days. The service is neat, that must be said. But this is not recommended.

Nice cozy restaurant, but there is actually no person to help you with anything and there is little choice for food as opposed to drinks, there is just about everything and it has a cozy atmosphere, it just needs some adjustment in the play corner for the children and for that at the fish

With two adults and two children, we paid 92.50 euros for terrible food. Once and never again.

Royal Plaza was my favorite Asian restaurant for years. Now they have stopped live cooking and things are going backwards. Food seems to have been overcooked in the containers for hours and service is quick to point out how long you have left. We won't be back.

Had dinner here with my friend last night. Via Social deal for the two of you for 44 euros. We were inside for exactly 45 minutes. Once and never again. The sushi was not fresh. The meat was cold and tough. Everything was dried out hard as if it had been there for days. I couldn't even get my teeth through the mini cakes from the dessert buffet. It didn't look anything like the pictures on the website. It's really scandalous that this is possible.

The worst restaurant I have ever eaten at, it cannot even be called restaurant. My girlfriend and I both became seriously ill, the food was cold, not fresh, and the meat was dry and tough, we had cakes there you could kicking each other's ass. Complaint filed on the spot, you weren't helped yet, call you today, it was everyone's fault but them.

Op di.dagavond hadden we gereserveerd met 7 vrienden,voor een gezellig etentje. Maar... we zullen deze avond niet vergeten, ipv een fijn etentje werd dit samen eten een flop, Dit All- in etentje was erg onder de maat, t was koud in de zaal,t eten was minimaal en ook koud, de banaan in deeg, zag er heel onsmakelijk uit,kortom alle eten was niet warm, er waren alleen kl.stukjes ossenhaasjes war nog n beetje lekker was, maar verder was er bijna geen vlees, de bami was klef en koud, en t ijs was ook erg weinig,en notabene bijna ontdooit,je kon t ijs bijna drinken.... kortom we zullen dit niet verder aanbevelen,maar we vinden t ronduit gezegd erg slecht! Haven't been in a long time, I bought two vouchers via social deal for €19.45 per person. After the purchase I saw a lot of bad reviews, I thought it wouldn't be too bad, in the past there was nothing to complain about. I kind of get the feeling that this is the beginning of the end. We found the choice very disappointing, soup with baguette, sushi, some salad, meat and Chinese and finally desserts. No more wok and griddle with raw meat that you can stir-fry/fry. Meat was cold at room temperature, the fried snacks were nice and warm, but the fries were not tasty. The shower was nice and cold and most drinks are included. The staff was friendly, the restaurant looked great and the atmosphere was also good. I have now paid €40 in total, which would normally be charged per person, but it is not worth the money. I would say it would be better to pay a few extra euros and go to another wok where they still have a wok and baking tray.

We waren met onze zwemclub, met 14 dames. We hebben heerlijk gegeten. Voor iedereen was er iets voor zijn gading te vinden! We hadden bonnen via social deal. Het eten was uitgebreid, heerlijke voorgerechten. Warme gerechten en lekkere desserts! Uitgebreide keus aan drank, wat inclusief de prijs was. Al met al, we hebben een gezellige avond gehad met lekker eten. Voor herhaling vatbaar!

All you can eat concept. Not a cozy atmosphere and the buffet choice is sufficient but not huge. On a busy Saturday evening, the dishes sometimes run out. Ice cream bar is not clean and 1 spoon to scoop up all flavors of ice cream. Then the water the spoon goes into quickly becomes a mess. Drinks are included in the price.

With Social Deal you can eat here all inn for € 23.50. Despite the not-so-great reviews, we went here with an open mind. We have never been here and therefore have no 'other' memories of this restaurant. Ok, now our opinion: mediocre food for a mediocre price. Food was tasty, but not really 'exciting'. Drinks were all inclusive, including fresh orange juice, but for non-alcoholic beer/Radler you pay €3 extra. Bami/mie/nasi without egg/vegetables. Soup without meat. Again, a choice of 3 types of soup, with delicious baguette with herb butter. A few dishes were lukewarm (understandable in a buffet restaurant). Lots of choice of desserts, including 2 types of fresh fruit. Lots of choice of ice cream (didn't really taste special). Only choice of fresh hot dishes, also fried. Nowadays, many all-inclusive restaurants have much more choice of dishes, such as pizza, poffertjes, pancakes, chocolate fountain, cookies, cotton candy, iced lemonade, etc. None of this here. Shame... In short: for a little more money, you have much more choice and quality in other restaurants. So a one-time visit for us.

Via Social Deal voor het eerst hierheen. 1 Het was koud in t restaurant. 2 De keuze van t eten was gering. 3 Het eten was lauw/koud. 4 De bami was kale mie. 5 De nasi zat alleen een klein beetje ei in, verder was t witte rijst. 6 De soesjes bij t toetjes buffet hadden een muffe smaak. 7 Zelf de afwas op t karretje zetten getuigd van slechte service. Kortom prijs kwaliteit is ver beneden peil!

Food was very dirty, very dry, no wok section anymore. Little choice. There were 3 containers of wok meat ready to eat and 3 with fish. Sushi was very cold and not tasty. Desserts weren't tasty either. Food was cold. Left after 30 minutes. When we indicated that we didn't like it, they only said that they were sorry. Just paid the full €60 for 2 people. Too bad, won't come here again.

New concept is not good, previously it was fine stir-frying and grilling. Now everything from warming containers. We won't be coming back for a while.

We always enjoyed coming here, it was certainly worth four stars at the time. Recently went to dinner with another couple. We are received with the message whether we know the new concept. So no. It turns out that the Wok and the Teppan yaki have disappeared. Only bake with prepared food. When we were there, many dishes were tasteless, dried out or left on the warmer for too long. A disillusionment for us. Urgent request to the owners to put the new concept to the test. Just cheap isn't everything. We won't be coming here anymore for the time being...

The best part of that restaurant is gone, the wok and grill section. That's why only 1 star now. The sushi is not fresh, the noodles taste like old food, and the rest of the buffet is not good either..

I had dinner here on Sunday, August 11. It was the second time that the sushi was not fresh. It looked like it had been in the refrigerator for a while. The prawns were also tough and the noodles were dried out. I suspect many dishes are prepared in advance and are not fresh.

No longer our favorite Chinese take away. Food is burned and/or tasteless. Also the lunch buffet has gone down in quality. Sushi is straight on lousy quality. More tasteless rice than anything else. Other dishes only so and so. Kids play area is a disgrace. Everything is broken in there. Not sure what's going on with this once flourishing place. Seems like the owners are up for retirement.

Loempia met rundvlees. Was niet lekker . Veel te veel vet aan het vlees . De sushi was niet vers. En dus niet lekker . Zaten een aantal stukjes tussen met alleen rijst en een of ander bruin flapje(ei?) erop. Was helaas het geld niet waard. Sorry

Not something repeatable... Very little choice for those 27.50, and a bit stiff workmen. We will simply go back to the familiar Almelo in flames. And otherwise after wok in bentelo. Update 5 years later: fusion plaza almelo. Better than the other 3 🤭 definitely worth a try. Eating in Luxury

We went there with good expectations, of course we read the reviews, but we went there with an open mind. Unfortunately the food was disappointing, only the Chinese menu is delicious, as are fries, snacks and dessert. The rest of the food was cold or very spicy. Staff is friendly, that's not the problem

I think the food was not fresh, there were flies flying around and an odd aroma inside. No music or anything, it was like a regular buffet.

Hot meat too dry, noodles were lukewarm, there was a small layer of noodles in it, without any additives. In my opinion, the fish was no longer fresh! In the past the quality of the food was still of high quality. Not recommended!

Definitely disagree with the negative reviews. I thought the food was good and there was plenty to choose from. I think complaints about the dried out food are very exaggerated. It is also replenished sufficiently and on time. Of course, you shouldn't come just before closing time. Wat een achteruitgang sinds het verdwijnen van de wok en de grill. Het restaurant is nog maar een schijntje van wat het ooit was De prijs is welliswaar naar beneden gegaan... maar dat voegt nauwelijks nog wat toe. Service aan tafel was er nagenoeg niet ... De bakabana was taai, de pekingeend uitgedroogd, de verse perzik knetterhard, Er zaten verschrikkelijk veel rotte kersen in de bak, de vis zat nog vol graatjes ,de zalm was vrij smakeloos. De smoothie was op en de ijsco scheppen zijn zo hopeloos versleten... dat het gewoon niet meer lukt om er bol mee te scheppen. Waardeloos. Wat wel positief is , is dat de jus vers geperst is, de drankjes zijn goed op temperatuur de toiletten zijn schoon en geen enkele bak van t buffet was leeg. Van aardbeienijs tot loempia tot kruidenboter van stokbrood of slagroomsoes tot aan zalmhapje aan toe...alles was er nog... T aanbod aan eten lijkt welliswaar matig... maar is echt perfect in verhouding tot de tijd. Want als je alle hapjes wilt proeven en van elk gerecht uit het complete buffet iets wilt proberen. .... dan lukt dat prima in die anderhalf uur ...

Het eten was zó slecht dat het gewoon lachwekkend is.Nasi niet om aan te zien, sausen bij diverse gerechten totaal ingedroogd.Bij aankomst werd gezegd dat de wokgerechten waren voorbereid dat was te zien!Waterige pindasaus bij de saté. Toetjes, ijs was keihard, ijslepel werkte niet. Vitrine waar ijs in stond zat schimmel langs de rand bah!

Always satisfied with Chinese takeaway, now having a 2.5 hour buffet meal one evening. The taste of the food was delicious, but the filling was very poor. Several dishes were finished and we did not see them. Service very bad. The buffet concept cannot match the wok restaurant it used to be. Very unfortunate, but not worth repeating for us.

Beschadigd behang bij de invalide lift, een kapot gordijntje bij de personeelstoegang en een op de muur geplakt menutje bij de drankbar verdienen geen schoonheidsprijs. Bij thuiskomst werd ik overvallen door buikloop. Kan een buikgriepje zijn geweest, maar dat stond er niet bij. Al met al een matige ervaring en voor mij geen aanrader.

We always thought this was a nice restaurant, but since the change, no more live cooking, we think it has become less so. Could be just me, but I smell something strange in there and it's making my appetite go away. I hope to enjoy going there again in the future. It's not the staff's fault, always friendly and correct.
