The food is good compared to other restaurants in the Netherlands. The toilet, dining area, and cutlery were all nice except for the bamboo chopsticks.

Cancelling a food order one hour after ordering, without any explanation. Unheard of.

Takeout is a poor representation of what the restaurant serves. Dishes with missing components but the same price is considered normal by this restaurant.

Steve, you're great, gold for the business, but the food, specifically the banh xeo, wasn't crispy and had way too much bean sprouts. The pork belly was good. Authentic Vietnamese flavor? I'm not sure about that last part.

They serve beer that's two mouths past its expiration date! The waiters were nice, but the management clearly did everything they could to poison you...

My mom said this was the best food she ever had (first time trying Vietnamese!) and to give you 10 starts, but we can only add 5 soit will have to do ☺️

We had a pleasant experience in the restaurant. There weren't a lot of people when we came, so service was really fast. The food is great. I'm not Vietnamese, but as a fellow Southeast Asian, I enjoyed their food. Tastes close to home.

Delicious food and friendly staff

Terrible service! And even worse acceptance of feedback! Unhappy staff, who take no responsibility for the food and drink being offered. Coffee was terrible for instance and we complained - and what we were told is that this is upto the management, and I am only responsible for bringing the food out. That we as servers have given various feedback to management but that they don't care and it is what it is. Shocking and guess someone needs to wake up!

What happened here? I've eaten here before, and it was always delicious. But this time, I got a poorly baked half-baguette with bland chicken. Not recommended. No wonder they didn't ask if everything was to my liking. They probably already knew the answer. 😂 Just got a response. AFTER A YEAR! Sorry, but I can't take that seriously.

Delicious, refreshing iced tea. The pho portion was a bit small, and unfortunately, no hoisin or siracha was available at our table. The mixed grilled cold noodles were more than enough and delicious. 7/10

The server Dua i believe her name was so sweet . I came a few weeks back on holiday and wanted her to be recognised for her great service . she is so polite and has a great attitude towards customers. I will definitely be back again soon !

Curry beef was really bad. More like European gravy with a pinch of curry. Not too much taste in the pho either.

Delicious food! Very smooth service. Had to eat on time because of a show in the theater, which easily worked out within the hour. We shared all kinds of delicious dishes with each other.

Food was excellent, but service is totaly none. We were sitting. 4 ladies was doing the service. nobody greeting us, we have to keep looking and waving before finally one of the older lady send one of the girl to us. Our order was totally wrong and when we told her about it, she keep telling us that we the one who made the mistake. She was even not repeating our order just annoyingly left after took our order. And when we order extra item, her face like so annoying. We have to walk inside by ourself to asking for condiment only to find her playing on her mobile phone. 2 of the younger lady was alot beter the one who bring the food and the one who bring our drinks. When we finish and ready to pay. The old lady was rudely telling us the price. Not even asking if everything alright, none at all. As much as we like the food, service is definitely none.

only 2 friendly ladies work there, the rest are all grumpy. waited 30 minutes for my drink. then had to wait an hour before I could order my food. really not recommended I'm editing this 2 days later. unfortunately I was sick all day yesterday guess what FOOD POISONING. never been so close to the toilet yall if you wanna lose 10 kilos go eat there

The smell of this dish is unbearable, it smells exactly like a sheep pen, but the taste is good. I couldn't finish the dish because of the smell.

Had dinner here for the first time last week, was kindly helped by the blonde lady behind the bar and will definitely come back here

The service was excellent even though most of the staff did not speak Dutch. The blonde hostess, on the other hand, was wearing a special outfit for someone who works in a restaurant. Not appropriate!

Everything was excellent except the food

The spring rolls and rolls are great. Good portions, fair prices and tasty dishes. And tender meat, don't forget. Only one improvement is needed: the bar staff should get rid of the phone. When you have nothing to do, you clean. You work in the catering industry! Your employer doesn't pay you to text and it doesn't look good to guests.

After having eaten very well at Saigon Caphé on Gelderlandplein, I also wanted to try this gem in Amstelveen. The food was fine, but not as good as at the location on Gelderlandlandplein. On the other hand, the service was really poor: phó is delivered without chopsticks or a spoon, how are you supposed to eat this noodle soup? Eventually I did get a spoon. However, it was almost closing time and the staff was busy cleaning the toilet. Apparently one of the toilets was clogged, and one of the employees was walking around with a dirty plunger to make dirty jokes about it: About how the toilet was clogged and all kinds of dirty jokes were made about it, in the presence of customers who were eating. Very distasteful and definitely not to be repeated!

The food is not tasty and it stinks of cigarettes

I just got back from Vietnam. the food is amazingly vietnamese. tasty, healthy, freshly prepared. the service was not optimal. the food did not come out of the kitchen at the same time, as agreed. the empty plates remained on the table for a very long time, also many empty, dirty tables around us. service did not pay attention to the guests. I waved, shouted, raised my hand but no response. finally got up and got someone to order coffee.

Food experience that you can enjoy, the service was fast but somewhat in a hurry. We tried several dishes but I recommend the Papaya salad and the rice rolls

A nice place for lunch/brunch, because they have super tasty sandwiches! Also very friendly staff.

The food is always delicious, but the staff cannot cope with a busy evening with all tables occupied. There is little to no service upstairs. The hygiene could really be a lot better, a lot of dust, especially on the lamp above the tables.

Perfect place for hungry travellers and late lunchers. Good menus, price and taste, quick service. A Vietnamese restaurant very fit to kill your hunger.

We ordered from this place and part of our starter didn’t arrive, one of our soups didn’t taste good or as a pho at all. The worse was that my soup had little pieces of meat in the noodles, while it was supposed to be a shrimp pho and it felt like they reused someone else’s noodles. We couldn’t eat what we ordered.

When we used to come here last year, noodle soup included 6 pieces meatballs, 6 small shrimp and 6 small pieces of chicken. Now with small increase in Price, includes 4 shrimp 2 meatballs halved , and 4 small pieces of chicken. Still pretty good and filling

Service is friendly, but not very fast, and sometimes orders are forgotten. The taste of the food is not very special and very average.

As Vietnamese, I would say food is average to eat. I tried Bun Bo today, well, the taste not that good, and it was huge bc of full coverage of noodles =)) And I think all workers there are Chinese but running a SaiGon restaurant is surprised to me, none of them speak Vietnamese or maybe i didnt get well along with them enough? Good decoration but i will never eat again :( im so sorry

Food was ok. My first time trying Vietnamese food. I wasn't terribly impressed. The customer service and atmosphere was good.

Unfortunately the preparation of the dishes is not consistent.

Always a fan, but quality has deteriorated considerably. There is a young girl working there who would be better off working in another industry, aso. Hygiene is also hard to find.

If it weren't for two stars because the owner was so kind, I wouldn't give it any stars. The woman at the counter and the female waitress were unfriendly... They shouldn't sell iced tea without syrup, but they sold it, and I ordered it because it's my favorite drink, but it didn't taste good, so they changed it, but it still didn't taste good, so I left it without drinking it... Saigon Cafe in Gelderlandplein is definitely better in terms of taste, quantity, and service.

Ordered vegetarian spring rolls and vegetarian Pho. Positive: served quickly, lots of vegetables and healthy. Negative: tasteless and bland. I'm surprised. Have never experienced this with Vietnamese food.

Always very good food, host is always very nice Too bad they didn't come by more often, for example for dessert or if we wanted something to drink, it wasn't very busy either.

I have never eaten Pho before so I order Pho with pork and it is not on the menu, she said. I lost almost €40 on iced lemon tea. I was shocked and I forgot to ask for the receipt so I could take a look. The soup is well prepared, but overall it is not a special soup. I didn't eat much of it. I regret passing by.

We have been able to eat in the restaurant, the service was very fast and the food was delicious, everything was very clean, a place that has a large terrace. If you are visiting Amstelveen, do not hesitate to visit this place, you will love it.

The food here is truly delicious and plentiful. Some of the part-time workers are slow and not that great, but the manager is as quick as a professional.

We had two dishes and one both were exactly like the dishes I had multiple times in Vietnam. Great stuff.

We had a lovely lunch on the terrace. The staff was very friendly and attentive.

I used ignore their unfriendly staff, and eat their "savory" food (you can taste the sugar in it) until one day they charged me double the amount food we ordered on our table. I only noticed it after i paid. They eventually refunded me the exact difference, but not my trust. Watch out!

Delicious Pho with fresh chicken broth, with very friendly female company, definitely worth eating here again.

I had the unfortunate experience of dining at Saigon Caphe and trying their Pho, and I must say, it was a truly disappointing meal. I would give it a measly 1 star, but I wish I could give it even less. First and foremost, the Pho I was served had absolutely no flavor whatsoever. It was like a tasteless bowl of lukewarm water with some limp noodles floating around. Pho is supposed to be a rich and flavourful broth, but what I got was more akin to dishwater. The raw beef in the Pho was another disappointment. It was not the tender, thinly sliced meat I expected, but rather overcooked and tough. It felt like I was chewing on rubber bands instead of enjoying a delicate, savory meal. To add insult to injury, the portion of side dishes served with the Pho was ridiculously small. I'm used to getting a variety of fresh herbs, bean sprouts, and lime wedges to customize my Pho and enhance the flavors, but Saigon Caphe's offerings were miserly at best. But perhaps the worst part of the entire experience was what happened afterward. Both my friend and I suffered from severe stomachaches and nausea after eating at this restaurant. It's safe to say that our stomachs were not pleased with whatever concoction they served us that day. In conclusion, Saigon Caphe's Pho was a disaster from start to finish. Flavorless soup, overcooked beef, stingy side dishes, and a post-meal bout of stomach troubles make this one of the worst dining experiences I've had. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a satisfying bowl of Pho.

Nice authentic pho and rolls. Their spring rolls (fried) were very well done. Their summer rolls were freshly made - not pre-made and refrigerated. Service excellent. Great English speaking staff.

Pho was great! Savory, simple and fresh. I spent months traveling in Vietnam and Pho is a simple and savory dish. 5 stars for authentic taste.

If you are a rice noodle lover, this is the place to go. I don't know because I haven't tried other foods. First of all, the soup is not thick, so the noodles are bland. I give it 2 out of 10 compared to local pho.

Thick noodles turned out to be weak, thin noodles, a cheap bite for too much money. Lemonade was tasty but the restaurant is not recommended.

The food is not fresh, we were all sick afterwards. The quality was much better. I find it extremely expensive for the food quality they are offering. Let’s not talk about the igiene.. Conclusion: Never again.

Excellent pho food. I have also eaten other dishes here, but they were less so. I think that the decoration/atmosphere of the place has deteriorated over the years. It all looks and feels a bit dirty. Service is fine. Neat and smooth.

Love it! Love the food and the drinks! I always get the same food number 456 bun dau hu (vermicelli salad bowl) and it’s always good. I also love the strawberry iced tea and avocado shake! But all the iced teas are good, so definitely give those a try!! It has become tradition to come here for celebrating my birthday.

Takeaway: Ordered vegetarian fried rice and shrimp sweet and sour (we do eat fish but no meat) Fried rice had pieces (leftovers?) of meat in it. The sweet and sour shrimp turned out to be sweet and sour chicken when we got home. Not professional/hygienic. Having to throw food away. Too bad, but no more confidence in this case.

We go here so often and never get enough of it. The pho’s are so good! And other dishes like the fried rice and noodles are delicious too!

Starter saladrolls duidelijk heel lang in de koelkast gelegen. Plakkerig, rijstvel en glasmie taai geworden en ijskoud. Smakeloos geworden . Blijven kauwen. Main redelijk maar ook smakeloos. Bediening zeer ongeïnteresseerd. Soort manager liep in joggingpak. De witte wijn was goed. Nooit en nooit meer. Uitgesproken slecht.

I'm a regular customer at this restaurant, but this time left me quite frustrated and disappointed. Firstly, I had to wait for around 25 minutes before my dish arrived, while others who came later were already served. Secondly, the quality control was terrible, especially today when I ordered a number 2 pho. In comparison to previous visits, this one lacked flavor, and the noodles were excessively soft, breaking easily, almost like they were served with a bowl of soup. As a frequent visitor, overall, I'm very disappointed and hope you can improve in the future!

Dear owner of Saigon Caphe, As an usual visitor, hereby I would like to give my honest opinion about the food I had today lunch in the Saigon Caphe Amstelveen. I’m so disappointed today by the quality of food, the waiting time, and the poor service I received today. I arrived around 12.05 where there is only two tables in the restaurant. And I ordered immediately because I know the menu already. I waited until 12.35 to remind the waitress to get my food. How possible the table next to me who order later than me but get the food even earlier. Due to the fact that the waiting time was already so long, I was expecting the food should be at least tasty. However, that is not the case again. The pho was soak in the soup and become way too soft, and the soup taste so plain. I have gave the feedback to one of the waitress, but the attitude of the waitress was so rude, she didn’t answer my question and didn’t even give a response but just work away. Overall, I think there is a lot of thing you can improve in the future. I hope you can read this comment and notice the problem you have.

It took a really long time before we were noticed, and someone came to ask what we wanted to drink...it also took a while before menus were given, while the young waitresses regularly walked past us to other tables🤔. But to be honest, I have experienced this before at another restaurant... as if people don't see us or something! My table companions and I were asked if we wanted white rice or fried rice next to our dish. It turned out later that we had to pay for the fried rice. Was that on the menu? I doubt.. I wasn't comfortable on the couch at all; seat was too soft😔. I could, so to speak, just swallow the food 🫣, because I'm smaller than my table companions

Very large pieces of stew meat, occasionally tough. Taste ok but smell of crockery prevailed and was not that fresh. Opted for meals with lime, but the taste was hard to find. Chicken satay dry but sauce was tasty.
