Pretty good food, though a bit boring items to choose from. The service is very poor, we were with a large group, and went in for lunch. It took 3 hours for them to bring us lunch and a desert, almost all of which was spend waiting an waiting for something to arrive. Dessert on its own took almost an hour, though everything was relatively easy in preparation.

We were celebrating my friends birthday today and it was one of the worst dining experiences I had in the Netherlands Service was very slow, my order was forgotten and I got my first starter after almost 2 hours of my order. Food is overpriced compared to quality. The best part of the evening was magicians who showed tricks. This was excellent but service was complete disaster

I booked a Deluxe High Tea at Zalmhuis Rotterdam through GiftForYou. I had to pay an extra €5. However, when I left, I was suddenly charged €15. These seem like hidden charges to me. I don't think that's entirely fair, and you should be informed beforehand. Moreover, both the quality and the service were truly subpar. Not a pleasant experience. First of all, we didn't receive a warm welcome; it took quite a while for someone to show us to our table, and ultimately, we had to wait 45 minutes for our food. Meanwhile, we had a leaky teapot and some glasses with ginger and lemon slices without serving tongs, so we had to fish something out with our fingers for our tea. No one ever came to ask if everything was to our liking or if we wanted anything else to drink. The quality was barely adequate, and it was a very basic High Tea. I don't see what it was supposed to be "deluxe" about, or how you could reasonably expect to pay €65 for it. It's truly ridiculous, sorry not sorry. We finally finished eating, and when we finally managed to let a staff member know we were finished, he said he'd be with us shortly, but he never showed up. It turned out he was standing somewhere drinking coffee. It wasn't even busy; the place was half full, yet the staff consistently ignored us. We walked to the exit, and because I was supposed to show my voucher to the restaurant upon entry, they didn't ask for it. I almost left it at the reception desk, but I still managed to leave politely. Then, suddenly, I had to pay another 15 euros. I also had to get a confirmation from my inbox, which was quite an undertaking. We were completely overwhelmed by the poor acoustics and the long wait for High Tea, and at the reception desk, there's a speaker aimed directly at you, making it difficult to hear the staff member at all. She also called me, so she forwarded the email. She explained that they only received €30 thanks to the GiftForYou, aka Wonderbox, voucher (which really has nothing to do with us, strange to tell a customer. What are you actually saying, "You should just be happy with what you got?"). It does explain why you actually get something worth €30 instead of the €65 that guests without a voucher apparently have to pay for an experience that wouldn't be out of place at Ikea if you were ever able to have a High Tea there. After all, you're not paying for the quality or the service, but for the faded glory of the building. Not worth repeating.

Let's start positively. The food was delicious! The restaurant looks fantastic, but the service was far from good. It took ages each time before we were seen and helped, even after several attempts to beckon. We ordered extra virgin olives… we were given olives with anchovies… now I'm pregnant and I'm not allowed to eat these. I only realized this after I'd already eaten two olives. I told the waiter, and his response was, "We don't have any other olives. Please put them on the menu somewhere else." No apology, nothing. Even afterward, our plates sat there for over 45 minutes, even though we had ordered a second dish. After beckoning a few times, it was cleared away and the next dish arrived. All in all, the service was very disappointing.

Another delicious lunch. Flavorful, generous portions. Every bite was a treat. In short: once again, very good.

A really nice place with delicious food. They do need to work on their serving time, as it's incredibly long between courses, but the staff is super friendly, and the magician at the table was also a great touch, contributing to a fun night out!

I've been here twice, this time with work. The first time was a bit disappointing in terms of food and service. This time I ordered a different meat, which was tasty. The large portion was a bit mediocre. But the service was definitely worse. I had to wait 45 minutes for a sandwich with spreads. That's really long, and then I had to wait a long time for the main course. They also happened to be out of stock for a certain type of salmon, so I had to make a different choice. The restaurant still looks nice, but I don't think I'll be back.

Sashimi salmon slices cut too thick, soy sauce not the premium tasty aromatic type, a bit too salty for my taste, the fresh and paste variant of wasabi was good.

A rather disappointing evening, even though expectations were quite high. The evening started with a miscommunication among the staff, which led us to believe we had booked a "5-course menu." This was incorrect. After ordering drinks, along with our appetizer and main course, the long wait began. We waited 5, 10, 15, and 20 minutes for our drinks. We finally checked with the waiter who brought our appetizer. After this waiter also couldn't help us with our drinks, we spoke to the waiter in charge of the table where we were seated. This gentleman had already walked past our table at least 15 times and, after about 30 (!) minutes, hadn't noticed that we still hadn't received our drinks. Considering the gentleman's age and likely accompanying experience, we were very disappointed. The guests next to us also had to beg for drinks. Not smart and very unprofessional. Unfortunately, it didn't stop there. We ordered a bavette steak and a sirloin steak. Unfortunately, the waitress on duty only saw a similar-looking piece of meat (to her) and just randomly placed it down. She had absolutely no idea what she was serving or that there was a difference between the two dishes. The meat, however, was perfectly fine. We then skipped dessert. Naturally, we also skipped a second round of drinks. You'll probably get them after closing time ;). All in all, a very expensive affair for the very poor service. The food quality was fine, nothing special.

The place is horrible. Very chaotic, cold, noisy, and they set off fireworks late, creating even more noise and ruining the view. I've been there several times and it definitely deserves a review. It's beautifully located next to the Maas River and has a great view of the Brienenoord Bridge. There's a wide selection, and our favorites are sushi, oysters, sea bass, and the cote boeuf. The service is good and friendly. I'll be back next week.

It might not have been the best day for all the staff, but we were looking forward to a pleasant evening... having a good time together, but the service and especially the long wait for the food were unpleasant. After three hours, we paid, but no coffee or dessert... the food was cold, and the staff barely dared to look up or around, because maybe we wanted to order something else? We won't be back, which is a shame.

Lovely atmosphere, everything was ready for Christmas. We had a delicious lunch, the food was delicious. Also a beautiful view of the Nieuwe Maas and the Brienenoord Bridge. We will definitely be back.

It's a shame you can only give 5 stars for service. Today I hosted a baby shower for a friend, and what incredibly good service (by Naomi). They worked so incredibly hard. A very late request for high tea was delivered 8 minutes later. An HHB finalist had made a surprise cake, and they immediately arrived with plates. What incredible service! Super attentive, blue balloons on the table, the table perfectly set and decorated—unbelievable. It was truly a 10 out of 10. If anyone is hesitant to hold their baby shower here, DO IT! The private space was a dream. It really doesn't require much. Their own music was fantastic. The high tea itself was, as always, top-notch!

Long after the appetizers (which we waited over 45 minutes for) were served, the tea arrived. Not as it should be. They did considerately accommodate one vegetarian guest. She received her food on a separate plate, along with tasty alternatives. The entertainment provided by the magician at the table was also a nice surprise. All in all, we had a great afternoon, but I won't be ordering high tea there again.

We had a high wine here through Social Deal. The atmosphere was great and the service was friendly. Something went wrong in the kitchen, causing the second course to arrive very late. Luckily, we received an extra glass of wine to compensate. After the high wine, we ordered dessert and coffee. The food was delicious and the wine was excellent. I'll definitely be back!

What a beautiful location on the Maas River! It was dark now, but the view will be especially special during the day. The room's decor is very atmospheric, and the acoustics are fantastic. Also important, the food is deliciously prepared and served beautifully by friendly staff. I did find it a bit of a shame that you had to pay €2.50 for parking; otherwise, it would definitely have been 5 stars.

A super cozy and atmospheric Art Deco restaurant. We dined there for the fourth time with our family. What made it so special for us was that eleven of us could sit at a round table, allowing us to interact with everyone. During our lunch, we also enjoyed the resident magician, who always pulls out all the stops. The lunch was fantastic again, and the service was excellent.

We were a group from Germany who went there for dinner. Unfortunately, they tried to charge us for drinks we hadn't ordered. Absolutely outrageous. Otherwise, the food was delicious, and the restaurant was cozy and stylish. The area is quiet, but right on the water. Since the restaurant wasn't full on the weekend, we could have come without a reservation and saved ourselves the €25 prepayment per person.

A unique building over 100 years old. The interior definitely has its own character. The service is top-notch, as is the food.

There were two of us for high tea. We'd seen on the website that it normally costs €32.50 per person. Luckily, we'd found a deal, so it was now €22.50 per person. For what we received, it was still far too much money! Three plates, two sweet and one savory. Scones that fell apart far too dry, lots of fruit in between, and a large dollop of cotton candy to top the plates... which didn't justify the price. We expected more; it's a shame we still paid €45 for this. We certainly didn't eat or drink what we paid. The staff were friendly, but not very fast, even though there were only five tables occupied in the entire restaurant. As we left the restaurant, the kitchen staff were leaning over the counter. They didn't even say hello, just stared at us. It's a shame that such a beautiful restaurant is going downhill; you can tell.

It was a lovely evening, the atmosphere was very welcoming and attentive. However, the food portions were small. It was my birthday, and they didn't charge me for what I ate. It was a nice gift.

Today I enjoyed dinner at the Zalmhuis. I was alone, but the service was attentive and made me feel welcome. The food was good and nicely presented. All in all, a pleasant experience that I would definitely recommend.

Faded glory, truly, unfortunately. The Salmon House was at its peak. The food is tasty, but very limited and very expensive. I came back for the cocktails... But this time it was like lemonade with a straw. Absolutely no garnish, no foam, nothing. I made it clear I couldn't pay 14.50 for it. Seriously, see the photos. The waiter just laughed as he walked away from our table and said, "It'll still taste the same, and that was definitely the evening you ordered it." Later, the bartender did remove them from the bill, which was nice. The terrace is outdated and now has a really neglected vibe. The service is really... Not pleasant, no charm. It's a real shame because it's a great location, but I can certainly relate to the negative reviews here; they say the same thing.

Het Zalmhuis turned out to be a true hidden gem on the Schaardijk. Beautifully decorated, colorful, and stylish ✨. We sat comfortably on the terrace overlooking the water. I opted for a poké bowl with salmon, super fresh and full of flavor. An added bonus: they smoke the salmon themselves in their own outdoor smokehouse. Fun fact: this iconic building has been a household name for almost 150 years and was once the place where Dutch salmon was traded ⚓. It's wonderful how that history has now been translated into a modern, classy restaurant. It's a shame it's not around the corner from me, otherwise I would definitely come here more often. I'll definitely be back, if I'm ever in the area again... otherwise, I'll just look for a good excuse 😉

Enjoyed the ambiance along the Meuse River. The uniquely decorated restaurant is located under the Van Brienenoord Bridge. It has a long tradition of salmon fishing. The food was delicious and the service excellent.

Beautifully presented dishes and excellent ingredients. The ambiance is wonderful. The service could be a bit more attentive to empty glasses, but that didn't detract from the experience.

The atmosphere and ambiance are great. Service takes a while, and they pour less than half a glass of drink, so you keep ordering more. That's a shame. There was also an insect in my beef appetizer. I could almost see it walking away.

I expected more from Vd Zalmhuis. The high tea was delicious, but I've had better. The tables are so close together that it's impossible to have a nice, private conversation. We could hear everything the conversation next to us was having, even though we tried to focus on our own. More space between the tables would be better. The tea was delicious, though.

The high wine is also fantastic here; a great selection of dishes, good quality, and, because it's also a feast for the eyes, beautifully presented! With a bit of luck, you'll find a spot on the covered outdoor terrace; you'll feel like you're abroad. Besides that, the whole atmosphere and decor are original and charming. Love it.

The food was okay. But it's rude to charge parking on your own property. Imagine a group of three, and everyone drives their own car (because it's a bit out of the way). Then you'll just have to pay.

A warm welcome followed by a house magician at our table, right behind the DJ, who played the same beat all evening. We had to ask for bread a few times, and before we even finished it, the appetizer arrived. A pleasant evening out.

A very impressive restaurant. The adventure begins the moment you step inside. You pass the open kitchen before being greeted by a host who leads you to your table. The service is friendly and fast. The menu offers plenty of options for everyone, a perfect pairing for meat and fish lovers. The wine on the standard menu was also very good. We had the verdecho. The dessert was also a welcome surprise. All in all, highly recommended.

Wednesday, August 13, 2025, we made a reservation for 10. The service was very poor, and we waited a long time for drinks. The bread platter was already gone before the drinks arrived. We ordered still and sparkling water, and it didn't arrive until after the main course. Dessert arrived far too late for one guest; everyone had already finished their meal.

The food I ate was very tasty, but the service was less so. Drinks took a very long time, and water only arrived when we asked for it. We received the answer, but the main course still hadn't arrived. Not exactly a customer-first mentality. During the main course, drinks were forgotten again, and with dessert, one person didn't get any dessert at all. No one even bothered to check, so we skipped someone. And we always received a counter-reply that wasn't customer-friendly. So, unfortunately, the food was good, but the service could be much better.

What a disappointment to go to the Salmon House. You pay €2.50 to enter the parking lot. The service is terrible; it takes a very long time to get your order. It's strange that there were only 10 people eating inside. There were also 10 of us. You order things, but you have to ask a staff member after 15 minutes to tell you where your drinks are. The food was good, but the service wasn't.

What a joy to be able to sit here. It exudes the atmosphere of old grandeur. The staff are very friendly, and everything moves along smoothly. It's all a bit pricey, but you're definitely paying for the location, the view, and certainly the beautiful decor.

We dined here on January 25, 2025, for our 5th wedding anniversary. Upon arrival, we received a warm welcome, and the decor is beautiful! Once seated, it took quite a while to receive a drinks menu or menu. The music (live DJ) was way too loud, making it difficult to hear our partner. The rest of the meal, and even the checkout, took far too long. After dinner, we got up immediately and walked to the cash register to pay. This was partly because it took so long, as they rarely came to our table. Otherwise, the food was delicious! But unfortunately, I won't be back next time.

The weather was beautiful, so we ate outside. Wonderful view over the Maas River.

I deleted my old review from two years ago. We were back here last night. I've been coming here for years and it WAS always good, except for a broken air conditioner two years ago. First of all, there was suddenly a barrier and we had to pay €2.50 for parking. Okay, probably against carpoolers, fine. Inside and out, it looked the same. Beautiful building, but the decor is a bit dingy now. We had a reservation inside, but were seated outside anyway. The weather was good, so it was okay. The menu was suddenly quite expensive, but then again, I hadn't been here in a while. It was much more expensive than the average restaurant, and I go to a lot of them. That raises expectations. I had salmon ceviche as an appetizer. Pretty bland, but the salmon was fresh. It looked nice. Most of the dishes actually looked good. For my main course, I had chicken thigh tacos. I had to ask for the salad I'd requested, and it arrived later. The tacos hadn't been in the oven, and I nearly broke my teeth on them. I called the waiter, but he wasn't sure if that was supposed to be the case. I asked for new ones (which wasn't offered), and then he said, "You'll just get the same." Um, then your chef didn't read the instructions for the tacos. Anyway, we were there for my late father's birthday, with my mother there, so I didn't want to make a scene. I removed the chicken thigh from the taco and put it on the salad. The salad itself was tasteless, though fresh. The chicken thigh was so overseasoned and overcooked it could have been beef. I mentioned that it wasn't good. The neighbor at the table next to us also started asking questions about the main course. She had a tuna steak that was ice cold. He also said he wasn't sure if that was supposed to be the case. He took it back to the kitchen—upon request—and came back to say they couldn't do anything about it. The woman had to ask if she could have her tuna steak back, and he brought it back. She got it back, laughed, and said to her husband, "Look, did they all take a bite in the kitchen? He's suddenly a lot smaller." Somewhere along the line, my one glass of wine was taken away with a dreg (I had to drive and was being frugal). Apparently, someone asked if it was okay, and I would have said yes, but the music was loud, kids were screaming (Zalmhuis can't help it), so I must have missed that and thought the question was about empty plates. Saying yes to taking my wine away: never ;) Normally, you don't take away a glass with a few sips. Somewhere along the line, I asked my companion what was going on with this once-great restaurant, whether they'd been taken over or something; there was too much wrong. I searched online, and indeed, there was a new owner last spring. Aha... So it wasn't my memory. My mother had a bouillabaisse as a starter, which was very good, as was my friend's tataki. My friend's main course was a burger. Barely dressed, and the meat, instead of medium rare, was so raw it was practically still alive. And cold. Dessert time. I had two chocolate truffles and received them quite quickly, my boyfriend a gin and tonic, which also arrived promptly. I waited patiently for my mother's crème brûlée, but it didn't arrive. After a while, I asked where the crème brûlée was, but "it was still being made." It arrived after a while and was fine. When I asked about the €2.50 parking fee, it turned out that was policy. I was curious if it would be deducted from the bill, but no. When I got the bill, the man wanted to pay immediately; I wanted to double-check. Oh yes, go ahead. By now, irritated by my poor food and bad service—the tacos are on the bill. So I mentioned it, questioning—oh, so you did include the tacos in the bill? Great service. Then it was quickly deducted. I paid, and completely against my habit, I left zero tip. Things can go wrong, it's all about how you fix them. They can't do that here; they have no empathy. They're completely disinterested. Never again. Overpriced, bad food, and terrible service.

Things haven't improved since the takeover. Upon arrival, parking was already €2.50. It's unusual, but you pay that much in the city, and valet parking at the Harbour Club is also €15, so that's a bit much. Inside, the filthy carpet upstairs didn't bode well. The ambiance was beautiful, but despite having a reservation for inside, we were gently coerced onto the terrace. Upon arrival, we encountered screaming children. But that's something you can experience anywhere. The appetizers were good, but the main courses were terrible. My girlfriend nearly broke her teeth on the tacos. I called the waiter, but he simply said, "If I take them back, you'll get them back the same way." I had a medium burger, but it was so raw that if I had given it two chest compressions, it would have spontaneously started howling again. The crème brûlée was warm and inedible. The service was mediocre and had to be constantly waved over. The table next to us received cold tuna when it should have been warm. After sending it back, they received the same cold tuna back. They also said, "It's the first time, but it's the last time." The fries were so hard you could leave half of them. It used to be a good place to be, but since the takeover, the bar hasn't been set high. Disinterested staff. I'll never, ever come back here.

We went there on my Birthday and enjoyed the free meal for myself. Lovely staff as always. We ordered 5 course menu and loved them all. Side note, a customer still have to pay for the parking and the water glass on table was shocking dirty.

Went for high tea again. This one's different than before, now with sandwiches (instead of bagels and brioches), but still delicious. When I made the reservation, I mentioned it was for a birthday and asked if they could leave a card, which was ready, along with balloons. Very nice! Two minor drawbacks: - you now have to pay for parking on their own lot (€2.50) - the teapots. Literally every time I come here for high tea, I find a leaking teapot. Either it's a coincidence, or the teapots need replacing.

The table for six was a bit cramped, with two additional chairs. This also caused some staff movement. There wasn't much space for serving food. A container of sauce spilled, which was ignored, so we used the napkin ourselves. Aperitif: I'd like a glass of bubbly. I had to intervene myself to get a bottle for €6, because I think they prefer to charge for six glasses. Then the dishes; they were all delicious. Portion sizes did vary. I had the salmon miso, a nice piece, while the sea bass was a bit small. And then ordering fries separately, which is a shame; they should just serve them with the dish. I would have liked more than one spoonful for dessert, as the scoop practically rolled off the shelf (even when I served it if I hadn't stopped it). All in all, there are pros and cons, but I still feel good. The staff is friendly, but perhaps a bit lacking in experience. It might also be a bit pricey; I just got back from France, where I got better quality or cheaper for the same price.

Pretentious place that lost all its grandeur that it used to have. Food is far below the quality you expect for the price. Cote the beouf was served well done when asking for medium rare. The waitress was super and went to make sure the chef made a new one better but it meant having to wait 30 minutes and the rest at the table was done when my food arrived.

Stunning restaurant! What a setting!!! We got there early, so it was quiet enough to browse freely. It was my birthday the day we dined there, so my food was free. Which is always a nice touch! Balloons on the table and fireworks when they served. The house magician came to our table, which really added to the cozy atmosphere. We had a great time and laughed so much. We definitely want to go back!

Het Zalmhuis isn't what it used to be, unfortunately. I went back recently, and what a disappointment. It looks good, but that's about it. A very long wait, mediocre food quality, and exorbitant prices. The sushi is also anything but fresh... it seems like it was made hours before.

I had a business lunch here and enjoyed a delicious meal. The weather was fantastic, so we could sit outside with a beautiful view of the water where there was so much to see. The staff was polite and friendly, and everything looked well-maintained.

Three guests had a hot lunch that went cold because the fourth guest had to wait 10 minutes for their steak tartare and another 5 minutes because it had to be prepared at the table (!), and the steak tartare, which the previous owner was known for, now came with a half-boiled egg, a very disappointing experience. At noon, smoked salmon with brown edges, and then you call your business: Zalmhuis (!). A croquette that could have come straight from a bad chip shop (try Holtkamp's). The salmon tartare was a tablespoon, definitely not enough for lunch. Both the steak and the salmon tartare were served with two Melba toasts. Baguettes were not available at Zalmhuis, and you had to pay extra for the small bowl of fries. It could have been worse. We ordered three coffees and one black tea. Hot water had been on the table for a while, but a pouch of black tea was nowhere to be found. Incidentally, one of the guests requested a 12-hour meal with a shrimp croquette (they don't eat meat), but it wasn't available. An alternative to the meat croquette (some shrimp or something similar) was out of the question for the arrogant waiter. "Get something else," was his motto! We long for the old Zalmhuis, and owner Herman Hell will be leaving very soon!

An unforgettable experience. It starts right at the entrance: you walk through various beautifully decorated rooms, very festive and refined, with beautiful music. You almost feel like you're at the entrance to a theme park attraction, but chic. When you reach the restaurant, you're greeted warmly by the staff. They're all dressed up and greet us all. The restaurant is beautifully decorated, and the atmosphere is great. There was even a magician walking around, showing people tricks. You feel very welcome in this restaurant and you're well looked after. Everything here is one big party. The atmosphere is calm, warm, and formal.

Yesterday I went to Zalmhuis for the first time for my birthday. I can tell you, this was our first and last time! At first, it took ages to order drinks, and once we ordered, it took over 30 minutes to get our drinks. Our table was so sticky that my boyfriend and I could barely get our glasses off it with every sip we took (very annoying). The wait for our food took over an hour. We also had to ask the staff when we wanted another drink; I felt like we were tucked away in a corner. When new plates of food were put on our table, we had to ask the staff to take the other plates away (someone in the restaurant should figure that out for themselves, not us as customers). We saw several customers who hadn't been helped properly and were irritated. A family right next to us left, and the food and drinks sat there for another hour and a half covered in flies. At one point, my boyfriend and I looked at each other and became so grumpy that we didn't even want to order dessert. I really didn't think this was a nice birthday present. I wanted to get home as quickly as possible because it was so disappointing. The price-quality ratio and the service are definitely incomparable. It was definitely the first and last time for us!

The food was delicious and well-prepared. A lovely place to enjoy a delicious meal. Zalmhuis is a beautiful spot with a lovely view. Definitely worth it!

Delicious sushi eaten, small works of art. The service is neat and tidy but also feels a bit distant, but that may be part of a somewhat chic ambiance. It is quite noisy in the restaurant where also quite busy music is played (boom boom boom). Why was that chosen???

Unhygienic. Unfortunately, I didn't have a good experience, I got sick and nauseous. They've never heard of cross-pollination. Outrageous price and I hardly ate anything. Oops, I thought, Never again. For that price, you should have eaten something. It took way too long before you were helped. Had to wait a long time for cold bitterballen. When a new plate arrived, there was a meat bitterballen in between! Outrageous that that is possible. The restaurant is kitschy and pretentious at the same time with much too loud music and mediocre to bad food. Absolutely not worth the price. Neither meat nor fish.

Truly the most horrible restaurant I have ever eaten at. From the starter to the main course, garbage bin worthy. Raw potatoes, asparagus like rubber, artichoke like marbles... and the rest of the food simply too disgusting to eat. And we wisely did not.

Great location with a view of shipping on the Maas. Beautiful old building, where fish used to be brought in and traded. Delicious fish dishes but also meat and vegetarian.

Delicious lunch, friendly service

A nice evening out for dinner together, but unfortunately that was disappointing at the Zalmhuis. Had reserved a spot on the balcony side, but were placed in the full sun, because everything was already full. Had to ask 3 times for ice cubes with drinks. After 1.5 hours it finally arrived. Food takes a long time. Sushi was not tasty. With the salmon you only taste vegetables. Ordered Bavette medium, but it was actually raw. For us not recommended to go again! Unfortunately..

Great restaurant with good choice and very tasty bitterballen! I definitely recommend going there because it is worth the wait!

Super nice staff but with a group of 10 we had to wait a very long time for a drink in a restaurant that was 25% full (Tuesday). Glasses for special beers were gone so they were served in a Heineken glass. Upon entering you are treated to loud, worthless music and that is no different in the restaurant, even the staff is fed up with it. Dishes are OK but the presentation is a joke: I got my well-baked bavette served on top of a copper ammunition box... very inconvenient. Fries are served in a paper container... Someone (the partner of?) without any experience has made a blunder here. This used to be a nice place, but with the new owner it has not improved.

Disappointing experience when and after ordering sushi at the Zalmhuis. In retrospect, “just say it” was exactly the greeting that matched what was served: cafetarimi, a combination of chicken nuggets and other brown fruit with something that looked like fried rice. We let ourselves be tempted by the ‘specialty of our chef’ without really studying the menu. The unfriendly, slightly snappy lady could not explain what the product exactly entailed, so we let ourselves be surprised. In retrospect, my crucial mistake. In no way did this creation resemble the refined dishes you expect when you think of maki, sashimi or nigiri. Because my table companion had suggested sushi days in advance and she was not even disappointed with the taste, we decided not to throw the baked goods in the bin. We did take some photos for entertainment and as a warning. Read the menu carefully: crispy, fried, mayonnaise and that is what you get when you order sushi here.

Recommended. We will definitely come here again. Nice entourage. Just a little bit different...

What a disgrace. I went there about 5 years ago and I had a great impression. But now I was really blown away. Ordering two cocktails which took about 40 minutes. If it is busy, just let us know. When you get the cocktail, it is quite melted because it has been ready for too long. Then I order a wine and a cocktail. Here too, there was another 25 to 30 minutes between the wine and the cocktail. I said something about this, where he indicated that the round is on us. I also ordered bites. No napkins were provided with either, just like with the cocktails. Unfortunately, this is the last time for me here.
